  • Democrats

    Dear Democrats,

I am a conservative republican.  I have some advice for you.  You can listen or reject my advice but I believe it is good advice.  You may question my motives because I am a conservative republican.  But I can assure you that what I am telling you is in your own best interest if you want to win the White House back in 2008.

You are in a great position.  Opportunity is at your door.  I would like to suggest candidates for the next election.  I want to give you the names of people that I think can win.  I say that because I am concerned you will miss the obvious.  I think you should pick Al Gore or John Kerry.  You may laugh and say I am trying to trick you.  I am not.  Just listen to my logic.

Al Gore is a good candidate.  Some of you don’t remember that election so I want to remind you.  Al Gore got more votes for president than George Bush did.  I am a republican and I will give you that point.  The American people elected Al Gore in 2000.  He ran a great campaign.  The election would be looked at totally different if Al Gore had a few hundred more votes in Florida.  I voted for Bush and I am glad he won.  But if you want to win, you will not forget about Al Gore.  His campaign is only looked at as a failure because of a few votes.

Al Gore was also in a difficult position.  He had all the scandal from the Clinton years.  He did a pretty good job of rising above that controversy.  But it did hurt him with some voters.

Next I want to tell you that John Kerry was a good candidate too.  He lost to a president with the backdrop of 9/11.  President Bush was difficult to beat after 9/11.  I don’t think 9/11 impacted every vote.  But it impacted some.

I have some history to depend on here.  There was the comeback of Richard Nixon.  The republicans didn’t forget him.  He went out looking silly after the 1960 election and still made a comeback.  Then there is Ronald Reagan.

Don’t make the mistake of removing someone just because they lost in the past.  Bush is a much stronger politician than you give him credit for. He took a beating in the election for governor against Ann Richards.  She was a very popular governor and he beat her.  Some of you look at Bush and think he is so weak.  It has caused you to think your candidates were weak too.

If I were you I would match up your candidates the following way.  I would run Al Gore as president with John Kerry as vice-president.  I think this team is unbeatable.  I have not seen anything in the republican field that can beat them.  I would also consider John Kerry with Hillary Clinton as his running mate.  I would put John Kerry as the presidential candidate in this case.  Hillary is a good candidate.  She will excite some of the base but I think she will get beat in the general election if she were the presidential candidate.  She would make a great vice-presidential candidate for you.

People want to try something new.  Don’t pick weaker candidates just because they are something new.

    Sincerely,

    Dan

If you could give advice to the leadership of either political party, what would you say?

  • To Bush—start being more REAL and honest.

  • Don’t lie so damn much.

  • Hmmm. That’s an interesting policy.
It’s funny, that all the politics I’ve ever talked my whole life were about contraversal matters, and debates about Bush and so forth.
This was a nice breath of fresh air, and I hope people who can vote will take your advice.

  • But I hate politics so I have no answer.

  • Hmm, that is good advice… I’m Canadian so can’t really add much, but would say Stop invading foreign countries for the hell of it. Tis all.

  • I agree and I’m a liberal independent.

  • Although I would dread a Kerry Presidency or a Gore Presidency or a Hillary Clinton Presidency, I do, in fact, want the Democrats to get stronger as a political party. Without a strong Democratic Party, the Republicans will have very little pressure to help them avoid making tragic mistakes. Right now, I think the Democrats are squandering an opportuinty to rebuild their party around a core of ideas that more accurately reflects the values and desires of most Americans. For instance, here’s a proposed Democratic Party Platform that would sweep them back into power:

    1. Support wholeheartedly the war on terror wherever it leads. Drop the attacks on the Bush administration, and instead applaud his efforts as something that will protect his country. Show the nation that your number one priority is to stop terrorists and those who help them.

    2. Reform immigration. Close the Mexican border.

    3. Release the abortion issue back to the States. Recognize that the American people are perfectly capable of protecting the rights of pregnant women and balancing those rights with the rights of unborn children, by enacting laws in their state legislature. This tactic is a no-lose position. The Supreme Court won’t let the state legislatures have this issue until they reverse Roe v. Wade. They’re not likely to do that anytime soon,

    4. Champion large reductions in the federal budget, continued reductions in taxes (for EVERYBODY), and demonstrate a willingness to eliminate departments that really have nothing to do with the federal government’s function (e.g., the Department of Education)

    5. Find candidates whose faith has been a large part of their lives well before they ever decided to run for office and let them speak to the freedom of religion.

    Yep. That would do it.

  • hi! hope you and your family had a great Christmas.

  • free cookies for everyone!
    peace max

  • I am a libertarian but have been democrat all my life.

  • i agree with you on john kerry and hillary clinton. unfortunately, i think the best advice i can give would be to get a candidate who is all for war. the american public seems to crave blood now, even if we say that we hate the war in Iraq plenty of people jump with glee over hearing that we have killed or captured another suspected terrorist. i htink this is a huge problem, but it will win votes.

  • Dear President Bush,

Stop being so paranoid and spying on innocent people; it’s insane and degrading for you and your people. Stop trying to mix your faith on the government; have you ANY idea how diverse religiouslly your country is? Stop thinking the US has the right to police the world; some systems just don’t work on some places. Stop believing you can fix Iraq; admit it, you failed, you can’t put a demogratic goverment, and democracy simply is not in Iraqui culture. Also, learn to speak correctly; I feel sorry for you that I live in a Spanish-speaking country and I speak a better English and am likely more literate in said language than you.

    Thank you.

  • dont be politicians lol

  • For the Republicans in offics to just fess up.  There is so much deception going on (most I am sure – we are not aware of).  For the democrats, what are you afraid of?  It seems they have stopped (for the most part) questioning the republicans.  Speak out.

I like what FireWithinArian had to say!!!

  • i would say aboration NEEDS TO GO AWAY

    Merry Christmas to you too
    Erica

  • Get rid of abortion, trust in God as the real leader of this country, and choose Condi Rice as the republican candidate.

  • i would have thought i was a republican…

but the quality of my life has always been better when a democrat was in office

so I am thinking along that line

    hurry up ’08

  • I don’t know.  I will vote for the person I feel is the best candidate for President.

    Erika

  • Democrats: quit relying on morons like Howard Dean to “energize” your party. Get someone with some real political sense in there (like a Clinton), quit being so wussy, and stand firm on an agenda. If you do that, you will win. The Republicans should be toast in ’08, and quite frankly, I won’t cry about it.

  • i would ask whatever happened to by the poeple for the people??

  • The office will ruin whoever wins in the eyes of many of the voters after he has been in office for a couple of years.  It is inevitible.

Your advice is pretty good.  Don’t look around for someone new and cast them into the ring just because they are fresh faces.  The experience of a Gore or Kerry could be a valuable asset in winning.

If Hillary gets VP, I will commit suicide however. (JK – I would only feel like doing it.)

    RYC:

    (“Ragamuffin” excerpt)

Yeah.  We think we are not working hard enough to ‘earn’ our salvation.  And then we realize that – of course – we can’t earn anything.  Then we start wondering what we should be doing and when nothing jumps out at us, we just quietly give up and revert back to the old ways and become the living dead all over again.  What a rut!

Good to see you this morning, Dan.

    L,r

  • Dear Dan,
As much as I would like to give a thoughtful and intelligent answer to your question, I am afraid, I am not really into politics, I know I am more along the lines of thinking like FireWithinArian but truthfully, I don’t spend a lot of time on politics. I know I should be, and I know it’s important, but to be honest, I’m just not that into it.So at the risk of sounding stupid, heres my real comment.
    TOP 50!!!!

  • I’d tell them to build platforms that don’t deal with religion.

  • that’s some great advice. i always thought clinton was a great president…

  • Whoa.  I want to vote for LaserLawyer (see above) ^.

  • You be surprised, Dan.

    You would be very surprised.

  • What do you think of Barak Obama? I hear what you’re saying about not just putting someone fresh up as a candidate and being fairly new on scence (comparatively) I think he may fall into that category, but I really like where he stands.

  • I would say to the Republicans, you have the last remaining yrs, DO WHAT’S RIGHT, don’t worry about re-elections! Give this nation the tax breaks we deserve, STOP giving it away to ppl who don’t work and to STOP shipping our jobs OVER SEAS!!!

If we ourselves do not produce anything, we will have NOTHING to trade! We are so busy trying to make the rest of the world like us, we will soon be like them!

Send Jane Fonda (aka: Hanoi Jane) to dine w/ Al qaida to show them their supporters…they’ll soon lose the taste to fight!

  • Interpret the constitution properly!!

  • Oh…yea that lovely Welsh Gorgi in the picture called”Dau Pok”…my good friend~Ming own him…hehe : ) You are very nice person…Dan ^^

  • Obama is too green! Not enough experience and although Oprah promoted him, he is NOT qualified for the job, we need more then “a talker” we need a doer.

If you needed someone to back you up in court, who would you want, a smoothe talking Fresh College Grad, or a Well seasoned experienced attorney?

I’m going w/ choose experience over looks and charisma every time!

  • God knew what He was doing when He said that one woman should be amde for one man and vise versa. homo marriges is a slap in the face to all of humanity and everything politically possible should be done to stop it.

God gave us morals to follow for our own good. we don’t call Him GOD for no reason.

  • I saw a comment you left on Dragonskyr’s site saying he was to young to feel regret.

How can anyone be to young to know what regret it?

  • Being a conservative Republician myself, as much as I hate to admit it… I think our country is best when run by a Democratic-controled Presidency and Republician-controled Congress, or vice-versa. There are true checks and balances that way. However, I’ll have to disagree that Gore, Kerry, and especially Hillary are going to win it for the Democrates. If the Democrates want to capture some of the conservative vote… Edwards is their man. Although I wasn’t alive in JFK’s time, Edwards reminds me of a John Kennedy-like person… unfortunately, he’s not tall, and TV isn’t kind to candidates under 6′. So maybe some other handsome moderate candidate.

I know Gore got a lot of votes, but I think he’s a nut job, and American’s realize that he’s now exposed for who he really is. Kerry is too liberal. And Hillary will just flat-out backfire. With her on a ticket, you’d see the biggest conservative Republician turnout in history voting against her.

  • err… Democrats

  • NO WAY man

JOSEPH BIDEN, senator from Deleware, Ranking member of the Foreign Relations Committee is the man. He is so well spoken, he would demolish John Kerry. John Kerry was so sad he couldnt even beat George Bush.

Im sorry, yeah president Bush might have some good points, but I do think your giving him too much credit. I really think he made it to where he is today because of his Daddy, who he kind of piggy-backed his entire life. Al Gore should have won in 2000, and although I dont think he should have and glad he didnt, if you look at the case, he was robbed.

  • george bush won by appealing to very conservative republicans. john kerry was too middle-of-the-road. democrats need someone to appeal to the far left if they want to get the white house.

i’m going hillary. she’s smart, charismatic, and appealing. plus, bill would be the best first man ever.

  • I wish both sides would stop thinking of each other as the enemy and try to work together for the good of the country. They have become so polarized that whatever one side says the other is immediately against it. Each side has different ideas on how the country should be run, but I think the ultimate goal is the same, so they should give up the petty arguing and trying to bring the other party down and both just try to compromise a little and work together.

  • Don’t lie, just tell the truth.

  • ‘Simplify, simplify, simplify. Do right but mind your own business.’

  • Ooh, Gore and Kerry as running mates?  That would be BAD.  I don’t believe that I am either party, I vote on who I think would run the country better (as some people SHOULD, it’s not just about the party you know..).  I was only allowed to vote in the second of the Bush elections, and I did not vote for him.  He obviously did sooo good *eye roll* with dealing with Iraq..But, and I will never admit this again, he is the stronger candidate out of Gore/Kerry.  Neither of them would rise up when the time calls and make the decisions our president needs to.

My vote would go to Condoleeza Rice.  I’m just sorry that she’s a black woman BECAUSE there are so many people that are against both of those things being in office.  I think, no I KNOW, she would get things done and not fool around as Bush is doing right now in Iraq.  I don’t think very many people like Hilary, I know I wouldn’t vote for her.

  • Sad to say, I can not think of a good candidate for President in ’08…maybe Condi, however she said she will not run.

  • Dan, that’s really nice of you lol. But, I want Barack Obama (spelling) and Hillary Clinton as our next two candidates with Hillary as presidential candidate and Barack as vice-presidential candidate. I do like the idea of Al Gore, but I don’t see him as president material.
    Russ

  • ROFLMAO - Dan, I sure hope the Dems take your advice. That is the funniest letter and sure to guarantee defeat for the Dems!

My advice to the Jackasses – If you don’t take Dan’s advice then run John McCain on your ticket.  Yep, he is a RINO anyway. So sweeten that pot but telling him that if he switches over the Dems (which is what he is in spirit) you will let him be your nominee in 2008.  Let me tell you with this guy’s ego, there is no way he will turn that down.  You guys love him anyway.  Afterall, he is a real bonifide war veteran, not like that french wonder John Kerry who inflicted paper cuts on himself for the purple hearts so he could hop the next flight home after only four months in the “war zone”.

My advice to the Elephants - Grow a spine and some balls.  Kick butt.  Act like the majority party instead of wimping out all the time to the Dimwitted Dems.  Your base will love you and crawl over broken glass to get to the polls to vote for you.

  • I like your idea for the Democrats. For the Republicans: Admitting mistakes is not a weakness, it’s a strength and you had better start admitting something before you start losing elections.

  • i would tell them to nominate me for president.. i clearly would do a good job

  • Right off the bat, I’d have to say my advice to Democrats would be — don’t let Al Gore run, he’s an idiot IMO.

  • i like the idea of hillary clinton as vice president. A lot. great thinking.

  • I didn’t really answer your question the first time around so here it is.

Surround yourself with the smartest people from all walks of life, not just politicians, businessmen, and military types. Both conservatives and liberals. Listen to them. Then make your decisions.

  • I honestly have no idea what I would say to the leadership of either political party.

  • Dear The Theologian’s Cafe,

I think that you are wonderfully logical and very intelligent and I love your xanga very much so. I also am beginning to adore your profile picture’s subject: C.S. Lewis. Thanks so much, and Happy Holidays (Christmas might be over, but there are still Holidays to be celebrating, therefore I am making myself content because there is still a general amount of happiness/cheer/good will ect).

    Your reader,

    Lauren

  • For either side, I would suggest a strong lean toward moderatism. Personally, I don’t think Gore, Kerry, or Clinton combined could do for our country what McCain could.

  • I absolutely agree with you. I am a Democrat and have been saying these same things for the last year. Unfortunantly I don’t think the party is listening.

  • i would ask that both parties sever ties with our corporatocracy and actually serve the best needs of the people. but that will never happen…so i guess i ask that someone take our country over and slaughter all the neocons. kidding….kidding…kinda.

  • Hi Dan…I have a question for you.  What democratic politicians would you vote for in a presidential election?  Actually when it comes to the President, I’m not worried about him being weak, but rather him being too strong in areas that require more tact.  I admire his father’s style of politics and diplomacy much more.  I’m not sure what advice I’d give to either political party other than to not promise what you cannot deliver.

  • Democrats and Republicans are all the same to me

  • I would say that Democrats should stop being so negative. Don’t just complain, give ideas on how to change it. Example: social security. Social security is in the tubes as everyone knows and Republicans are moving towards reform while all I’ve heard Democrats say is “privitized social security is bad.”

  • “I have not seen the show but I have heard that it is an act.” – Well, thank the Lord for that..You could, however, be forgiven for thinking it wasn’t scripted at all.

—since I am English and have no clue about politics…and I’m not reallu interested anyways…I think, you can’t go far wrong with Arnie!

  • Thank you for the birthday wishes! It was nice of you to drop by again.

  • Here’s the deal:

To the Republicans:  Come on!  Get Real!  Are you gonna continue wasting our tax money in this non-sense war??? While this country is fucked up!  Use that damm money on the economic infrastructure, get rid of racism and poverty and homeless by providing help and stop being the sponsors of Paris Hilton and other rich spoiled brats that have nothing to do with this country… And Don’t forget to raise the damm minimum wage!!!

To the Democrats:  Be more agressive in their goals and plans to rebuilt America.  And avoid sex scandals or any scandals, please…

To the Independents:  Continue to fight against all those money and power hungry bastards and fight to a better way to change America.

And frankly, I’m not into any party right now… I just want justice for myself and others around me.

  • honestly, that’s silly. those guys would never win… nor would either be ok with being a VP.
i’m also a conservative republican… and unfortunately, if a McCain/Guiliani ticket ran, it would be an unbeatable moderate republican team.

  • to either party, STOP LYING TO ME YOU INGRATES!!! -except nicer.

  • Happy Holidays, Dan!

  • Please Don’t make me Have to Look at John Kerry for 4 years!!!  LOL…..

  • Hilary Clinton 2008!!

  • Democrats have to stop being so indecisive and SHOW the people that they are a strong party. I am a democrat, but I am fed up with the weakness that’s obviously showing in the party. Unify, listen to the people, and work.

  • Is this honest advice or are you trying to trick them?  Oh, yeah, bring back John Kerry.

  • the only problem with having a candidate run that has already run is he is seen as a loser and nobody whats a loser president then for hilary it wouldnt work because too many people do not want a woman presedent or VP what is going to have to happen for a democrat to win the election is a republican run as a democrat

  • america is NOT ready for a female president, are you kidding?

  • My advice: Grow up and stop whining. Oh, and that’s for both parties.

  • god, i dunno

  • america is NOT ready for a female president, are you kidding?
Posted 12/26/2005 at 4:56 PM by xPiNkiShAzNx

What is the criteria for a country to be ready for a female president?

  • Republicans – Stand by your values and stop trying to move towards the middle.  Cut spending, protect our borders.    I like Condi Rice, not sure if she would make it as the candidate, but Vice President would be nice.  Not sure about President.

Democrats – Stop flipflopping!  Stop lying, stop bashing and start working.  You seem to like to bash President Bush alot, yet offer no alternative solutions that would work.  Admit it – You said that there were WMD too.  So did the UN, Hans Blix and the rest of the world.  Offer support and solutions, not criticism.    Ex-President Clinton, your time is up, keep your mouth shut. Although it may be hard, start showing some class.

As for a democratic candidate -  I think Leiberman would be a good choice.

  • hilary clinton && candalice rice all the wayy baby!!

  • dodge not the issues; keep it real.

    dan,

your ideas on the presdiency are pretty interesting. i tend to be a hardcore liberal. i’d write more advice, but i amtired from the holiday.

  • I would tell all the parties the following:

“Why must you be seperate parties for one country?”

  • Hmm, when has voting seemed to work for anybody favor in our country?

  • i think that kerry is incompetent….. how did he lose because of swift boat???

  • And if a democrat will actually BE a democrat instead of a Leftist/Socialist idiot he or she MIGHT get elected. Perhaps these democraps should re-read JFK’s famous speech. Oh but if you scribbled over JFK’s name and told them the speech was given by Ronald Reagan they’d believe it. Why? Because an ‘old’ democrat and a true liberal sound an awful lot like a ‘conservative.’

The democraps have gotten in quite a pickle. They are invested in defeat. If things go bad for the USA then that’s good for democrats. I don’t envy them at all. Plain and simple: democrats are just European politicians with American clothing.

I think we should quick out the entire democratic party from DC and replace them with libertarians, independents et al. At least libertarians (not in all cases) seem to love this country and would be a positive alternative to republicans. Democraps love some odd ‘utopia’ like Sweden, which is what they think the founding fathers wanted and what the USA should be. They are – for the most part – morally confused. All the morally confused Americans who vote will likely vote for democrats – thats the culture we have going on that some many people are clueless about.

Lastly, and again, I doubt one modern democratic voter would recognize a speech from John F. Kennedy if his name where taken off the notes. Kennedy would give that speech and get booed by modern democratic voters.

  • “kick out” not “quick out”. Holy mother of all that is good and holy I hate the Xanga comment section!

  • Do what is right for all the people, not just you and your friends, Help the poor not the rich, even if they do offer to pay you. Don’t take away rights that we have had since our government was founded, even if they don’t help your plans for our country. Uphold the constitution, for it is all we have. Do not expect anything of your people you would not do yourselves and please do forget that we are the reason that you are there, and do as we would have you do.

I’m not much for politics, I really don’t appreciate being lied to so I try not to listen to those politicians but if I could tell them all something that is what it would be.

  • It would be ridiculous to recycle former candidates that way, it would look as though the party is relying on leftover candidates because they don’t have anyone else to step up to the plate.   We need a stronger candidates than those individuals because clearly, they can’t win.  Politics is a pendulem swing…it’ll eventually swing in the Democrat’s favor, esp if the Republicans continue to shoot themselves in the foot at every turn.  As my bumper sticker says – is it 2008 yet?!

  • To the “right” I would like to say –
Give it up! you’re on your way out and everyone who can’t see it will be dead or on social security soon, and then things will really change.
So enjoy it while you can, cause it’ll all be over soon :D

  • I would tell them not to listen to you.

  • I dislike the use of Conservative Southern Baptist moral values to sway and divide voters.

Republicans need to stick to the money and fiscal issues and less on the their witch hunt for gay people and women who have abortions.

I’m too liberal for most Democrats anymore, but I wish they could be bolder in their position, but they take too much of a middle ground so as to try and get some Republican votes.  It just ends up making the platform look weak.  At least the Republicans look firm on their position as religious zealots and fascist tyrants.

I think Bush should start wearing a cape, black or red perhaps.

  • I would LOVE to see McCain paired with a moderate Democrat.  Let’s get back to the center – where most of the country is!  A ticket with a Republican and Democrat just might bring this country back together.

  • Advice to U.S. political leaders: learn the difference between statesmanship, politics and the sheer pleasure of imposing your personal ethical, moral and spiritual values on others.

Gore and Kerry? Scary thought. :)

  • suprised you were republican.

um… i don’t agree… i suppose someone from the sky should just come down and be the perfect candidate that both sides can seem interested in from the democratic party…

    hm… or hillary clinton…

  • I could live with a Lieberman/McCain ticket to compromise.

  • Vote in a Conservative!

    ((( GRANDMA HUGS )))

    Lori

  • Holy mother of spam! Anna must be sleeping!  You’re persuasive though, ethos first with the admission of your politics, (although already obvious), then logos, that was nice. AND you stayed away from almost all pathos, so overall, I like the technique.

I won’t quibble with the name callers though. The more they cackle, the more they are revealed.

But not you, I’m starting to dig these new entries. Although it appears that they might not be so popular among the younger set. Have you ever thought about assigning days to topic genres? Theological Thursdays, Media Mondays and the like? That way everyone could know when their area of interest would be addressed. The discussion could be more meaningful when more meaningful responses are pertinent, and the sillyass responses could go hog wild and it would be funny as hell to read them without some sad sack party pooper (that would be me) scribbling all over the damn place. Just a thought.

And yeah, I know that pic is not you. But I’m still calling you Combover anydarnedhoo. Dan is the name of my uncle, so all Dan’s get a nicknames except him. I owe him that.

    Peace and all that whatnot.

  • Why do people honestly think that Condi Rice is a good canidate…or even Hillary? I think that a Gore Kerry ticket would do swell….and as for Republicans…I’d like to see McCain Powell….by the way..i’m a Liberal Republican…..or bluntly just liberal…as is most of society….for the lady canidates however….Hillary is way more equiped to lead than Rice is….the only reason why they are even getting publicity is cause some moron newscaster said there names as possibilities…just like when people went crazy of Oprah…..use your common sense people…..McCain has been in the primaries forever……he lost to Dole…lost to Bush….finishing 2nd both times…..Then Powell….lets see he has a tremendous military backround….and who was the last President that had military backround that actually failed…..that’s right…nobody…..Gore…well his stats were simply outlined in the Dan’s post….however Kerry…..he clearly is nothing…..maybe replace him with Edwards?….so how about a Gore Edwards ticket versus a McCain Powell ticket…..hmmmmm

  • I would tell the Republicans that  you need to stop this whole Christian Right Wing thing. I absolutely detest the Christian Right Wing. I would tell the republicans to stop being so vile, repugnant politically.

  • great letter. i’d like to see those matchups happen

  • Ha, this is interesting.

Okay, as a Democrat I’ll give you the opposite argument. For the Republicans, I’d pick Colin Powell or Condoleeza Rice as the VP candidate. Colin is seen as somewhat of a maverik given his tense relations with the VP and some of the cabinet members, but Condoleeza came from Stanford (which should help with California, a state rich with electoral votes) as is both African American and female which, for people who look at these things with a machavellian eye, helps with a constituent base that normally favors the Democrats.

Not that I think either would ever be nominated by the Republicans for the VP position in a million years.

  • I’m proud of you. It’s almost a rant. Well done, Dan (aka Combover)

  • The thuing about Kerry is that it seemed to me that most of the people voting for him did so NOT b/c they actually liked him, but b/c Bush was such a horrible alternative that they’d take ANYONE over him.

I wish John Edwards had ran for president instead of Kerry.  I think he would’ve had a better chance.

  • It seems laserlawyer just wants to turn the democrats into republicans…

  • john kerry..i wish i had voted during the 2004 elections..sorry..my fault..

  • I love reading your comments, because some of these people don’t know what they’re talking about.

But kudos for you for having good reasons to back up your opinion.

  • Where did you get that layout?

  • to the entire government -
    1. look at yourselves and realize what you’re doing to this country.
    2. pay attention to the actual people.
    3. stop wasting money on stupid shit while kids are dying in the streets
    4. dont worry about making america look bad by taking our troops out of the war. we’d rather be alive, well, and ashamed than miserable and have many dead.
    5. fuck. you. american. government.

  • get rid of social security, not now, but for my generation.  Social security was a great idea and worked well for a very long time, but it is turning into a black hole and it needs to be stopped.  Educate people about investing and saving for thier own retirement and if done properly a person could live comfortable off of the interest.

  • I think Ms. Clinton actually kind of turned me off as of late. I think the Gore/Kerry duo would be good. I am a Democrat myself. Thanks for the interesting post!!!

P.S.- I think abortion should be kept. Who is anyone to say what a woman should do with her life? We are not God.

  • There are few if any fellow republicans here in the DC metropolitan area and the few rarely make any sense and cannot successfully defend the republican view in such a democratically populated city. So thank you for that breath of fresh air.

  • I would love for the Democarats to get control of the White House in ’08 and indeed, judging by the way things look they can certainly do it. However, I wouldn’t count on a Democratic victory in the 2008 election. I don’t mean to sound like a conspiracy theorist but there are much bigger forces at work here.

I think New York City should be it’s own country.

  • I would advise both parties to stop pandering to extremism and start actually REPRESENTING all the people of this nation–not just special interests.

I would also advise them to keep religion OUT of politics.  If they are really “Christian” their behavior will SHOW it–they do not have to march around chanting, “God speaks to me….I am God’s chosen man” or whatever bullshit they have been spewing lately.

I would also advise them to stop fucking with each other and run from their own platforms.  Quit being so in love with the ad hominem attacks on each other.

  • I was a fan of Al Gore though I wasn’t into politics much when he ran. I liked John Kerry until after the election. He became too neutral. I also like Howard Dean (who might be a relative.)
