Frederick’s of Hollywood
My wife and I were walking through the mall last night. My children were being watched by their grandparents. It was a great time to walk around and talk. We were at the Katy Mills Mall which is just one huge big circle of stores. My wife would occasionally stop and want to look in a particular store. So we would go in and look around.
We happened to walk past a Frederick’s of Hollywood. They were having a sale on bras. She decided she wanted to go inside and check them out.
Should the husband walk into Frederick’s of Hollywood with his wife?

Well, it affects you too, doesn’t it? And wouldn’t one of the important reasons she’d like a new bra be because she’d like to see you happy? That doesn’t have to be the main reason, but it’s probably one of, and high on the list I would imagine. As such, I think it’d be silly not to.

But then, that gets into a whole ‘nother topic about social embarrassment and social standards about men. Men should treat their wives, but they shouldn’t be crude about it. Is going into the store crude? Does it imply that you just consider your wife for sex primarily? Of course not, but are you banking on people thinking that way, and will that stop you from going in? Should you allow others to dictate that action?

I’ve seen a few guys in lingerie stores with their wives/girlfriends. It’s good, because our significant other is usually the only one who sees us in our underwear, so why not go with her so you can pick out some that you like?

Oh sure. In fact, I have in the past shopped at Victoria’s Secret for my wife without her there in order to surprise her with a special gift. I think that Fredrick’s is the same kind of place isn’t it? Those salespersons were always professional and helpful and recognized me as a ‘fish out of water’ in a sympathetic way.

I am wondering what is the meaning of the ‘second death’ and why bother since they are already in Hades unless the second death ends the suffering. But that doesn’t wash with what I have been taught either.
As for speaking while being so tormented and even having the presence of mind to ask for a drop of water (how long would a drop of water last in Hades?), I just can’t get my head around the concept, but maybe I am not supposed to. I guess I will have to take it on faith cause I won’t be finding out first hand.

IF there’s any pictures of models on the walls (like Victoria’s Secret) and IF porn and lust has had a stronghold or posed any problem for the husband either at that time or in the past, then he should go around the corner and wait for her. But if Fredrick’s (never been…yet!) doesn’t have any of that on their walls, or looking at lingerie on the hanger doesn’t make you stumble, then it’s awesome if the husband goes in! After all – it affects him too!

It’s certainly a somewhat awkward situation…but other guys do it often enough that it’s acceptable. The problem with the Fredrick’s in Katy Mills is that it’s so close to the food court, so a good deal of the people in the mall pass by it at one point or another, including parents of friends, people from church, etc. (in other words, people you wouldn’t want seeing you in Fredrick’s, regardless of what explanation you can offer)

Probably there will be pictures of women with nothing on but underwear, which can cause the typical male to think thoughts about what he is seeing. A man is best off if he only sees his wife in lingerie. Perhaps the wife should not shop in a store so particulary noted for its emphasis on sex.

My husband wouldn’t go in to Victoria’s Secret or Fredrick’s for a long time. So when ever I wanted to go he’d always go to the book store next door. Then one day I told him I was going in, and he just came in with me like it was no big deal.
