I have never been to a strip club. I had a friend who went once and he said he was not very impressed with the girls. He did not think they were very attractive. He said he would have preferred to stay home and watch his wife dance on a table.

being a girl, I can’t accurately answer this question but an ex boyfriend once told me that he had gone on a couple of occasions, once for a bachelor party and the other time when he turned 21…he said it was disgustsing to him both times and went into vivid detail about it. Whether or not he was telling the truth I’ll never know.
Guess he has not been to the right strip club and they do vary a lot.
I have never been to a strip club but my mom was an exotic dancer so I do recall some memories as a child. Most of the woman are trying to support their families.

I think the biggest reason guys go to a strip club is because they can be together and bond and there are still naked chicks running around so that just makes it more heterosexual. Most guys don’t want to have any chance of being with their “buddies” and it being interpreted a “date”.
I’ve gone once and it was amature night. The girls didn’t seem all that enthusiastic about showing themselves off. I just felt horrible for them that they felt this was their best choice in life. I have no desire to go back.

As a woman I was a little surprised to see all the men commenting saying they’d rather see their wives dance on tables, and that they have found strip clubs to be mediocre. But as I thought about it, not a lot of my guy friends talk about going to strip clubs often… maybe once a year.

There is such a thing as “sexual addiction”. I would dare to say that the men who show up at a strip joint on a regular basis are afflicted with this spiritual disease. These men probably buy pornagraphy in the forms of movies and magazines. I would guess that the men who are one-timers at these “joints” are mostly curious. I would think that there is no “safe” way to attend the activities at these places. Anyone who visits is setting himself up for emotional/spiritual troubles on down the line. As for the wives that approve such activity for their husbands, they are either hateful or just don’t realize the dangers presented there for their husbands and themselves. Husbands and wives are ONE. Not two completely separate spiritual entities. What the husband acquires by this sort of recreation, the wife acquires. Sexual addiction is a dangerous game that can easily become uncontrollable and thus destructive. I would not advise it to my worst enemy.

I think guys are wired to look for the visual appeal to things. And the girls may have not been exceedingly attractive, but I would think that part of the appeal (at least for some people), is seeing “everyday” girls naked. It presents the illusion of a chance with them where there usually isn’t. Maybe I’m just being overly cynical. I don’t think going is outright disgusting, I just think it would be a waste of time. In both cases the striper or hooker is selling her body, and the male is abusing the woman. I think power and control play a large roll in men going. I have mixed feelings about this.
Okay, I can’t believe I’m going to admit this, but at the end of my bachelorette party night my MOH got the great idea that we should all go to a strip club AND they ordered me a lap dance, in which I had to sit in a chair on the round platform while 25 hot girls took turns straddling me. At first it was humiliating, but I went along with it because it was quite a show. It was so late that almost everyone there was very drunk (ahem, incl me) so I figured nobody would remember it anyways and it turned out to be pretty fun. At one point my shirt was lifted a little above my comfort level and a large crowd gathered around. I fixed it and closed my eyes and grinned (in embarassment) until they were finished. Ah, I’m such a good sport. Afterwards when I thought it was finally over, the DJ announced that I would given a chance to dance the pole and he also thanked me for my service to the country, blah, blah. My performance consisted of me walking in circles holding onto the pole for support for about three minutes. Finally the music changed and I crawled down, ignored the money everywhere, and headed for my seat. One of the strippers gathered it up and brought it to me = over $100 – oh yeah! Strippers are nice people who have a fun job so leave them alone! Oh, and they gave me a booby vase with a halter top skirt thing and candy – items that are periodically displayed around my house.
Men, on the other hand, who go to strip clubs for the most part are ALL creeps. I would be upset if my husband went to one (ever again). In fact I’m a little ticked off that he went to one several years ago before he ever met me, but I try to be real about it.

In my non guyish opinion I think that they go for attention..attention they obviously have to pay for..whether they are attractive or not is irrelevant. Men are visual creatures. Why do men go to strip clubs? Its the sin nature, stupid. There are two ways it could work.
1) Sinful, lustful desires. The guys wants to see naked girls and has no self-control. Easy.
2) Sin, using the law, arouses the desire in them to go and see what a strip club is. While not necessarily going (at first) for the girls, but out of a desire to see what is going, this is as sinful as #1.
Personally, I think strrip clubs should be illegal. (I break the Libertarian party line here). They promote the taking advantage of women, can break marriages, blow apart families, and injure lives. Unlike some things (drink, gambling), port/strip clubs used in moderation can never be a good thing. They provide a temporary pleasure. This pleasure, however. when not in the contest of marriage betwene one man and one woman, is wrong.
America should not tolerate these hideous institutions.
As to why women strip? Mainly for cash. This behavior should be scorned and discouraged.

I think it depends on the club you go to. In some of the clubs the girls are actually good lucky, intelligent, they can hold a conversation and keep a guy entertained with more than her body. I think the guys that go there are looking for stress relief, to have fun and interact with women without having any strings attached……That and guys are visually oriented. They want to look at boobs. Some of the other places, probably like the one your friend went to, the girls aren’t even attractive and they place is pretty seedy.

I would say that they probably go there to have fellowship and comradery with their fellow males. Either that, or Satan has entered their groins and makes them think that looking at lewd scandalous women of ill repute is something that is appropriate for a decent man to do.
for a variety of reasons.
1. because they’re lonely. some guys go for the companionship of a really hot girl that would probably never even look twice at them in real life.
2. for a good time. some guys go just to party and be extra manly (say, a bachelor party or birthday)
3. to look at naked women. i don’t know what clubs you’ve been to, but when you go to some top rated clubs you find some amazing women. even the low end ones might have a “diamond in the rough” girl, (a really hot girl who could definately work at a much better club).
4. sex. some guys go trolling for dancers who also turn tricks (it happens)
I go because I love to look at women. It’s my own pseudo-lesbian experience. And I really love to go with my boyfriend.

u know . . . you have to clarify your question. many people are condeming these places, but I have a feeling a lot of them have never actually been in one or knows anything really about it (aside from what they’ve heard or seen on TV or movies). clubs can’t all be lumped into one category – they very greatly from the kind of girls to the kind of “services” (just dancing, to crotch-jockeys, to flat out prostitution). i’ve always had fun at strip clubs.

I’ve been to a ot of strip clubs, and one of my roomies used to work at one. The girls were gorgeous at some of the clubs, and not so much at the one my roomie worked at. Depends on their standards I guess. Anyhow– its a visual experience, and if you go to a quality one, you could be pretty impressed with simply how the girls can dance. I took my boyfriend cuz he had never been before, and it was just fun times.

The whole thing is a farce, the strippers are paid to project a fantasy that does not exist to evoke a reaction; you will give them money, and drink alcohol. The more you drink, the more the illusion that the club projects seems real, the more money you will give the performers, thinking that they actually care for you or are interested in you and the more drinks you will buy.
