  • Absolutely NOT

  • and I can’t believe i’m #2!!!

  • I’d say just a bullet to the brain. But that’s just me.

  • Actually he deserves a slow painful death. So more torture, for sure. A bullet to the brain would be too quick.

  • NO!!!  He is not a recognized leader of any Nationality.   To negotiate with Bin Laden is the same as the Police negotiating with organized crime to coexist peacefully in the same city.  You may have peace, but you compromise safety and standards.   Bin Laden is a terrorist whose only goal is to sow the seeds of malice and murder.

  • I would not trust Bin Landen… no negotiating with him…

  • RYC:  great mind think alike. :)

  • I don’t know that I would trust him, personally, but peace would be nice.

Still don’t think that he is sincere, though, and he is not the leader of his country.

  • HAHAHAHHAHAAAA! Ummmm…no.

  • I don’t think so….  As you pointed out, he is not the leader of a country nor could we be really be sure that his instructions would be followed….  Not only that, but the whole concept of a truce seems to indicate some sort of mutual respect that the parties would have for one another, and we are not in that sort of situation.

As much as I’d like to see the violence end, I don’t see what good can come of this situation until people like Bin Laden are captured and held accountable for what they have done.

  • I believe the US has a policy of not bargaining with terrorists.

I’m not evemn sure what a truce would do anyway.  Perhaps our great government has actually stepped up and topped various attacks, but otherwise I have not heard much about Al Qaeda doing much towards the US lately (despite all the terrorism paranoia that runs rampant in our country).

  • A truce is reasonable.  But if he’s serious about ending the violence he should also turn himself in.  Until he does that, I can’t believe he’s sincere.

  • No way! He has not earned the respect of the U.S. Therefore, he should not be treated as one who does.

  • {No blooming way. No way, no how. Spit in his face, and tell that little piece of nothing to leave OUR country well-enough alone. We have war with him.
    God bless,
    Shohna

  • Offer a truce with someone sworn to kill us?? No that would weaken us. If we have him on the run, we need to finish it before more people die.

  • if it will insure that there will be no more terrorists acts then what’s the harm.

  • No. The US should not negotiate with terrorists. Nothing in his past behavior gives any indication that he will keep the promises he would make.

  • You spelled “Osama” wrong…

  • RYC: Lordjabez- Come on….do you REALLY think that lunatic is calling a truce? No way.

He’s a monster and in know way needs to be in negotiations or bargaining. Look what he did to our country? Look at all of the innocent lives that were lost as result of his actions and craziness?

I had to live through 8 hours of not knowing whether my little sister was dead or alive from the Trade Center that day. I was lucky because she OK, but knowing and speaking with other people that lost loved ones has forever changed my life. My sister will never be the same and sometimes has anxiety to this day, but she’s a lucky one. I think each of us will be forever scarred with the memory of that day. What sticks out for me is watching people jump out of the building from 100 stories up because they felt that was their only option. So my answer to negotiations is absolutely, positively NOT.

  • And no, I don’t think we should…

  • he’s NOT the leader of a country. he is the leader of a small faction, and we took our aggression against that faction out upon his entire country.

that aside, YES. the hardest peace is always better than the most just war.

  • hell no … never negotiate with a terrorist!!!

  • ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! He is not a leader of a country. He is a horrible, horrible monster!!!!

  • Hell no!!  That’s effing crazy talk!!

    Candy

  • that sonofabitch is dead. hes old. fo sho. its an imposter i bet. i donno. i dont watch the news. thats probably bad…

RYC: did the link work. i accidentally had it on protected. if not try again. i fixed it. :)

  • Sure! Invite him over to Kabul to sign the papers . . . then strap one of those Al Qaeda bomb corsets to him, march him out to a lonely field and blow him to pieces.

I realize that may not be the loving thing to do, but . . .

  • NO, NO, NO!  What are we, stupid?  Read the threatening and taunting that accompanied the offer for a “truce”.

  • hmmmm…no comment.

  • Oh, HELL, no!

Usama – Osama. Bin Laden. Ben Laden. Let’s blow his darned head off.

  • A truce, no. A flesh eating worm up the bunghole to be aired on pay per view with the proceeds going to US soldier’s families, yes.

  • He’s not a leader of a country, so no.

And did anybody else notice that what he said was pretty much the same things as what leaders of the democrat party have been saying?

    Democrats are terrorists. ; )

  • UHM   NO   he isn’t just another Leader of just another Country.  Twice he hit us hard, and he is planning a third.  I am not buying it

  • Is this a trick question?

    Sail on… sail on!!!

  •  Heck no!!  How could we possibly ever trust him??

  • how could you trust someone like that to even uphold the truce if we DID truce? I don’t think I could…so NO no truce!

  • Negotiate his butt into a gallow. or something like that.

  • No, but I can see the US negotiating through a third-party country like Israel.  If Bin Laden isn’t willing to accept that as a condition, then he is not serious about seeking peace.

My gut tells me that things are a little rough for him and he wants to buy some time, but the Bible tells us to forgive 70 time 7 times, so…

    L,r

  • Not only NO, but HELL NO.  That man can not be trusted, I don’t totally agree with the “war” in Iraq/Afganastain (sp) but at the same time this man needs to be destroyed.

  • NO. Lets say truce, get him in our country in the big room to sign papers or whatever, and get him. I think we should put him in a regular federal prison with guys named Bubba and Joe Bob and let them take care of him. He should be someones bitch before he dies.

  • Quote from CNN.com
The United States does not negotiate with terrorists

And that’s all there is to it.

  • Bin Laden should be tortured to death, slowly and painfully. I would rather vote Kerry, that snake, into Presidency than live to see a truce with Bin Laden.
Psh. Let’s get this straight: Osama Bin Laden is NOT seeking peace.
He was sent straight from H-E-double hockey sticks and he is so going back where he came from.
    God bless.
    Shohna

  • re: No. He doesn’t want peace with us, he wants an ultra-fanatical islamic regime that rules most of the world.

  • Noooooooooo Way ! You can’t rationalize with an irrational person. He needs to be assasignated. – C

  • isn’t our policy “we don’t negotiate with terrorists”  why make an exception because he is powerful?

  • If the U.S. were to negotiate with a terrorist such as Bin Laden, that might send a message that the U.S. is willing to compromise with a person just because they launch an attack of some sort. I feel in the end if we did negotiate it would encourage other extremists.

Tempting as it may seem to try to end it in such a way, you also have to take into consideration the message it would send and the consequences that would come from it.

  • HELL NO! Knowing america we’ll put him through a trial cuz we did that for Sadam Huesein, which honestly we should’ve just shot him. If i was an american trooper i would shoot osama bin laden and be “he was already dead when i found him”. lol

  • NO WAY!

  • Never trust a terrorist- I say HELL TO THA’ NO!

  • You spelled “Osama” wrong…

Actually both Osama and Usama are correct. The name is arabic nad either is a proper english rendering.

No, but I can see the US negotiating through a third-party country like Israel.

I doubt it. Israel invented the “we don’t negotiate with terrorists” before Usama was anyone or anything.

So no, the USA should not talk to this creep. He is not the leaeder of a soverieng nation, and therefore should not be treated as such.

As to killing him, a quick bullet to the heaed will do. He’ll be in much warmer climates as soon as we get a hold of him.

  • not no, but HELL NO!
    have a great weekend, Dan!

  • No, because if the United States formed a truce with the people we claim to be at war with, then there would be no justification for the President, Vice President and Republicans to strip American citizens of their personal privacy. Also, then the President would have to focus on domestic problems (which he is lousy at), and his failures would cause his party to not retain the control that they have over the Congress and the White House… So of course we shouldn’t have a truce.

Why stop the killing on both sides when you can maintain a good level of terror in our country and pretty much ensure that people will continue to kill and be killed?

Why stop the religious crusade to remove all that is not Southern Baptist from our nation and the world?

  • No, but only because Bin Laden isn’t exactly someone to trust.

  • do you always spell “Usama” with a “u” cuz most places it is spelled with a “o” except for Fox News Channel. truce? yeah sure, it really worked in Europe

  • Absolutely not.  I can’t believe anyone would say yes and trust this guy to honor any truce he made anyway, nor can I forget what he did and just let him off the hook for it.

  • ha! the only negotions should be whether or not he gets a bullet in the head or  hung from a tree or….

  • Absolutely no way

  • No…plain and simple….we don’t  Negotiate with terrorists..–chelle

  • The question I would ask, “Would he give up his life if we agreed to back out?” Probably not. I wouldn’t trust him but if you read the break down of the speech he gave it is interesting and in theory he makes sense. I was shocked at how informed he is about our country. He must watch CNN or FoxNews.

I say “No way in Hell!”

  • #1, he is not a leader of another country

#2, we supposedly don’t deal with terrorists

#3, he attacked us, not like any other country

#4… Only if Bush went after him instead of Saddam Hussein, we wouldn’t be having this discussion

  • Agree to a truce if meet with government officals in person. Then let him pass into and through our hands safely so that we have a means to track this guy who has been alluding us since 9/11.

Peopl,e you are not think this through we are having the world greatest terorrist leader handing hisself over  to us in McDonalds’ box. All we have to do is open it and stand outside, so we can finally deal with him properly.

    ?

  • that depends

if he is sincere, he should turn himself in

    -Chris

  • Truce would be nice if that’s what is really is but I’m sure it is just a way to get us to let our guard down. He hasn’t been caught yet and unless he is turning himself in we should continue to try to find him. Why would he offer? He doesn’t care about the loss of life or none of this would have ever started.

  • We don’t negotiate with terrorists…

  • Osama bin Forgotten.

  • His is the leader of a terrorist organization, not his country.  So……….. HELL NO!

  • No, that would be like bargaining with the devil for your soul.

  • Uh, nooo…. wasn’t the U.S. going to put a bullet through his brain at some point? They could negotiate the size of the bullet…

  • I look like Usama after I get out of the shower. Ha.

  • I think we ahould let Jack Bouer descide!  The same issue is stated on http://www.xanga.com/JustinIraq  I think you might like it, Dan.  Justin is a Marine that was fighting in Iraq and helped clean up the border of Seria, but is now home for a while.  He has a humourous outlook on most political subjects.

  • No. He needs to be punished for his actions. The United States should not make a truce with a terrorist. That’s kinda… stupid?

  • No, regardless of how much I disagree with the war you cannot trust a man like him to hold true to his word.

  • I find it funny that many people who are calling for the torture and slow death of Osama were shocked and horrified by the actions at Abu Grahib (sp?). I do believe that the man should die because as we all know he is nothing but evil.  Now on to the question at hand. Negotiating with terrorists does not work. We can take a look at how Isreal has negotiated with Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Yassar Arafat’s PLO. The mindset of this group of people is something that we dont really understand. I happen to agree with, I believe it was either Bush or Chaney, who said that this is a sign that Osama does not have control anymore and the Al Queda is crumbling.

  • A truce with Bin Laden? Hmm…as many have said, he is not a leader of a country and he is a terrorist. But it might be something to look into- to see if a peace is possible at all. Ben Franklin once said there was no such thing as a good war or a bad peace.

And even though this isn’t the correct entry- I’d like to add my thoughts about working moms. I do want to work outside the home. I never wanted anything other than that (in all fairness, I have no children). But I’d like to someday, and I hope for an occupation with hours like theirs, perhaps in a school. But I want to work. My mother tried to be a stay-at-home mom and she didn’t like not working. She missed people and she missed her job. Her mother worked (in a generation when women were expected to stay home) because she liked what she did.

There is no typical woman here. Some have a desire to work, some have a desire to stay home. Neither desire speaks of less dedication to children or of laziness. Just different personalities.

  • i tHiNk tHaT ThE Us Is sOo cOoL BeCaZz i lIvE In iT!!! wHAtEvR pReSiDeNt bUch ThInk Is bEsT Is tHe bEst!!!!!

  • No! As you said he is not a leader of a country. It is an event when our State Department recognizes other nations, we should in no way acknowledge that he has any power to negotiate with our government. In that respect is there any difference between him and Cindy Sheehan? She camped outside Pres. Bush’s home in TX and in DC, and said she’d go away once he met with her. She had a following too that was camped out with her, but she was not a national leader and did not warrant a response from the government. (As an aside, has anyone noticed that our media has stopped spelling it Usama and changed to Osama?)

  • Yes, just to find out where he is.  Then we can negotiate with him as Michael Corleone negotiated with McCluskey and Sollozzo.

  • No…we have already tried that and look where we are at…

  • I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could spit.

  • Depends…I’d be interested in knowing his “demands”.  He said he’s got conditions that need to be met, but I don’t believe he said.

  • Hell no…we shouldn’t trust ANYTHING he says.

  • Is Bin Laden a Leader of a Country or a Terrorist???  And though I don’t agree with the war in Iraq, I do agree with the terms of not negotiating with Terrorists….Bin Laden has not only given a blow to the USA but to all free countries around the world, like Canada…we will not feel safe again…’til the next

  • Negotiate? I think not. However, we should base our actions on verifiable facts whenever possible. Recent history has shown that often so called “reliable” sources are not always reliable. Sometimes noble people lie and sometimes villains tell the truth. We need to divorce ourselves from emotional reactions to the individuals who say things, and find the truth – regardless of who says it.

  • It would be advisable. I doubt they will.

  • We don’t negotiate with terrorists. He’s not a leader of a country, either.

  • Nigga please

  • RYC:  Actually, I’m leading the project.

  • Well, it has helped me to realize that Osama is a cult leader.  Thinking of terrorist just doesn’t allow my brain to wrap around what he is.  Maybe we should sit down with Osama and offer him some Kool-Aid.  That would work.

No, we do not negogiate with cult leaders.

  • No, but NOT because he is a terrorist. The reason we should not negotiate with him is because he has been highly inconsistent in his past dealings. Ideally, all this ‘we do not negotiate with terrorists’ nonesense is very heroic, but in reality, the only way to quell a grassroots movement, be it a cultural revolution or an insurgent uprising, is to declare a cease-fire, and that requires negotiation or utter nullification of the movement’s influence. In this scenario, as the situation presently stands, we are in a position where we must go with the latter, as the former seems to give no guarantee of security.

  • He’s offering a truce?  Most likely because we’re getting to close……..

  • *yawn*  We say we don’t negotiatiate with “terrorists”, but it depends entirely on which terrorists and under what circumstances.  Some terrorists our leaders even have close personal and business relationships with.

The closest analogue I can think of is Yassir Arafat.  He wasn’t a head of state because the Palestinians didn’t/don’t have a state; he was head of the PLO, which was supposedly a “terrorist” organization.  We negotiated with him, as did Israel.

  • No. And I agree with the comments that this might mean that we are getting close or that his control is crumbling.

  • No…… as previously stated, he isn’t a recognized leader of any country, there is no need to negotiate with renegade terrorists…..

  • The U.S. does not negociate with terrorists.  However Iraq is in the hands of terrorists who claim they want to negociate peace.  So until Iraq is turned over to the people there will be no peace.  This sucks.

    Have a Blessed Day!

    MK

  • I think the word trounce is more appropriate.

  • Violence begets violence let’s end this war. This war had nothing to do with Iraq it is a war between Bush and Usama bin Laden  perhaps we could leave countries out of it and put them in the ring, Judi

  • Oh, and this reminds me of BattleStar Galactica. Later in this season the peaceniks are going to try and convince Adama to make peace with the Cylons and there’s a large part of the civilian population that wants this peace. Scary. Very scary. The parallels are unnerving.

  • Wasn’t he supposedly dead?

If he wants a truce, he should hop on a plane to Washington and work it out, hehe.

  • Not at this time.  I heard about this truce right after I heard that he said the next wave of attacks on the US is underway.  I believe that he’s trying to get us to agree to a truce so that we’ll let our guard down to make it easier to attack us.

  • NOOOOOOOOO, he is NOT a leader of a country.

We do not negotiate w/ terrorists.

  • {i}Visit FKIProfessor’s Xanga Site!

Hehe. I think FKIProfessor is on the ball.

  • Drat. Sorry about that. *Dies of embarrassment*.

  • The US probably does negotiate with him already.

  • It takes 2 to compromise, in my mind the states are doing more damage than Osama has ever done.

  • No — giving in to his demands shows weakness.

Him offering a truce shows a sign of weakness in him, so obviously it’s a hoax.

    Nicholas

  • I’m a forgiving man….but…….he is not a representative of a nation recognized by the United States, but rather a terrorist.  In that manner, no truce.

  • Nope.

That’s what we have nucs for.

  • No, he is not a leader of another country. He is a leader of rebels. Of terrorists. We in fact DID work with him at one time and he manipulated the situation to later turn it against us. And he has shown nothing to lead us that he could be trusted. In fact, he has shown that he wants nothing other than for us to suffer. When someone has such deep hatred and convictions, typically they don’t simply change their minds.

  • I’m not sure. How many fingers does he have crossed?

  • You don’t negotiate with evil.

  • It doesn’t hurt to talk to him, but I don’t trust him, and I don’t think anyone should.

I would be interested to see what he thinks fair terms are….to me, any that don’t involve him going to prison are not fair.

But I do think we should keep in mind that the United States recruited and trained that fucker to do exactly what he is doing–the only thing is, we trained him to do it to other people.

It really sucks when the chickens come home to roost, don’t it?

  • As if Osama bin Laden is the only Arab terrorist.  What good would it do?  Sure take it, but it doesn’t mean we can suddenly start taking for granted the terrorism doesn’t exist again.

Maybe I’m just cynical b/c I spent a lot of my childhood on military bases overseas.  Terrorism is a part of life.  It happens.  Negotation with Osama, big whoop.  There will be another one to replace him.  It might not happen on American soil anytime soon, but it happens.

    Erika

  • Pfft……… heck no.

  • I think he is scared and thats why he wants a truce…I am all for peace but I am scared of giving my enemy too much power by me being naive so Im going to have to say….unfortunatly no.

  • NOO there is no way that i will EVER trust him! i sooo hope we dont make an agreement with him.. omg.. yea.. he is soo bluffing!

  • no not after what he did to us

You can’t just commit acts of terror and just neg your way out of it

He sould be tried by a jury of 9/11 Victims and then put to the sword

  • I can’t speak for everyone but since he is not Representing  a nation then there should not be a truce

  • I would like to hear what he has to say, but most likely not.

  • Yes… a lot of people here saying no.. nice little quote from Einstein here: I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
So yeah.. a peace would be nice..
Regarding that we made sure that Osama was really offering a truce.

  • The United States does not negotiate with terrorists.

    ~Watts

  • I think our efforts must be effective~they are pleading with us.  How can we trust such a person? tell him to stop the rhetoric~have some respect, stop the violence with the other Islamic fundamentalists…and then we can see. make a foundation……then we can see…..

  • Oh just sawy your new main page.  IT is ok.  Loved CS Lewis picture before.  Nice to try new things. But…miss CS.

  • To answer this question, and these are my views only. I believe if we were to call a “truce” with this guy, we’d be making things easier for us. The muslim religion is supposed to be true on its word, when such “promises” are made. I have seen first hand how extremists are. I know exactly the code they go by, and how influencial the “chain of command” are. People are willing to die, because one person says so. If we did make this “truce” with O.B.L. it would help out troops in Iraq, Afgahnistan, and our allies around the world. The “war on terrorism” cannot be won. There is ALWAYS gonna be someone out there try and make a name for themselves. Whether it be islamic extremists, or an abortion clinic bomber. I haven’t been to Iraq, nor have I been to Afgahnistan… but from what I’ve heard, and what I’ve seen, we are at much of a disadvantage over there. We’ve learned to adapt, and we’ve been successful at times, but who is to say we will actually catch O.B.L. My personal opinion is, he is already dead. This recent tape does little to justify that he is still alive. I’ve seen the U.S. Negotiate with Terrorist… so, to see it be done, and hear everyone say that… well, I’ll just leave it at that. I’m done with my rant and my opinion now. I just ask everyone to be open-minded when u answer this question.

    .><.

  • You spelled “Osama” wrong…

  • There can be no truce. Neither side respects the other. USAmerica has far too many financial interests OIL in the middle east to respect the people there. BinLaden and his AlQueda cohorts have already released the biggest massacre ever to occur on US soil. So there can be no truce.

  • If I was bush id say yes.even though I myself dont trust him but he said there are people here who are planning to bomb the us in major area like the bombings in London and Milan so maybe if we accept this truce it might we could save hundreds of lives but thats my opinion~~~!!

  • You know why I don’t think so?

Listen, if we become friends with them him and his terrorists biotches (lol) they’ll think that we’ve surrendered to his terroristic activities and even cause more terror, and when were not looking.

They are terrorists for crying out loud. 9/11 can never be replaced. Just remember that.

  • um pal… its Osama… no Usama

  • Yes. Why perpetuate violence when given the opportunity to minimze it? He may not be the leader of a “nation” but he does lead people, and has real influence all over the world. Why miss that opportunity to complete the war on terror by creating more?

  • no way in hell. I still haven’t forgiven him for the 9/11 and haven’t even thought of the idea of forgiving him for European attacks. He’s a lunitic and a traitor. I do not trust him. We’ll sned over someone big to nagotiate and they’ll take him hostager, too.

  • Did he REALLY offer a truce? I believe he also said there was going to be more anti-American terrorism.  I thought he was a criminal in the eyes of America.  I think we negotiate with leaders, but not criminals.

  • Obviously, the U.S. should instead continue preemptively bombing other countries. Bush’s multi-BILLION dollar war in Iraq has done wonders for the U.S.

  • NO truce.

  • No! First of all he’s not a leader of a country, he is a terrorist. Should you treat a bank robber the same way you treat a bank president?

Second all this means is that he’s getting scared and is trying to save his butt. So, should we let him go free (?) or follow this ‘til the end?

  • oh, *sniff* you changed your profile picture!

    It looks good though. Hugs!

  • He said that he wants to offer a truce, but he doesnt want a truce. If you know the enemy like i do he just hoped we would except it and then attack us again. He doesnt want a truce he wants us all dead.

God has to forgive Bin Laden, it is our job to arrange the meeting.

  • Oh sure.  The US government should totally surrender to Osama so he can take over and give us a real facist government.  That way we’d be carrying out terror attacks instead of subjecting ourselves to them; it’s so much better.

Oh wait…you were talking about Usama.  No, don’t surrender to him.  He’s a total asshole.

  • Hells no!  God, r u stupid enough to be asking that question??  He’s worse than Hitler and the Jews!  Seriously, think about it!  Do u really trust someone like him to be that nice and truce??  Yea, he would probably still kill us all, like if we did truce, then we would think that nothing would happen to us, and then. . .BOOM!  We all get killed!  He’s probably gonna do something to us ne ways, so i just say no way jose! lol yea think about it before u put a comment in here!  *+*+*PHREEmE*+*+*

  • Absolutely not! Nothing good can come from making a deal with the Devil.

  • are you fucking kidding me

  • heck no it’s a trap i say

  • the US??? who cares… GO CANADA!!! hahah

  • To accept a truce fm this piece of dogs**twould be the same as giving head to the barrel of a pistol. REAL F**king stupid. But I can see I’m not alone.

  • I think that Osama shouldn’t negotiate with stupid people like the US army.

  • he needs to shave bad!

  • Nah. I think Bush should have went after him in the first place. We took care of a country already. Iraq remember.

  • GOD NO!!!

  • i meen he’s a f***in terrorist, not the leader of a country, and by makin a deal with him it’d be like suicide for whoever they send over cuz he’ll take em’ hostage!!! DUH!!! he’s a frickin assho and if anybody wants to make a truce with him then they need to F.O.D.!!!

  • As much as I think everyone should get a second chance I dont think we should accept his truce. Bin LAden pose too much a threat and he is capable of doing so much harm. As a person who studies justice and help implement laws, I look at who is “capable” and a threat. Bin Laden is a major threat to his own people, let alone the entire world. He is able to ruin and attack countries anywhere across the globe. A person with That much power must be immobilized, especially because he has Bad intentions.

  • Yes, we should offer him a truce of sorts.   Let’s call it an Unconditional Surrender.    It was good enough for the Confederacy, good enough for Germany, good enough for Japan, so it’s good enough for him.

It is not our place to judge him.  It’s Allah’s place.   We should arrange that meeting between Osama and Allah as soon as possible.

  • Given that I think that U.S. foriegn policy itself is responsible for inspiring the hate that fuels terrorism, I think perhaps that yes, negotiations could be useful, and I’d trust Osama before Bush, because at least Osama is consistent in his beliefs.

  • This man is a terrorist and if we negotiate with one terrorist we will soon find ourselves at the mercy of countless others.

    - – > Ariana

  • Well, we should probably keep up appearnces and go in attempt negotiation.. but actually following through.. I’d probably think good ol’ G Dub-Yuh was an idiot.
