Favorite Sites
Everyone has their favorite sites to visit. I have noticed some sites out there are really good but for one reason or another they don’t get the recognition they deserve. So I thought today, we would share with each other our favorite sites.
I don’t want us to mention sites that we like because they happened to be our best friend. I have sites that I visit just because I like the person. But there are other sites I visit just because I think the writing is good. I also don’t want us to mention sites that are the really popular sites that everyone already visits.
If we share the best sites with each other, we can bring attention to sites that really deserve to be read.
Name your favorite site to read and mention why you like that site.

Does Google count? I love Google!
Second!!
yours! cause you talk about anything and everything about society. =D
At first I thought you were talking about sites in general. I was going to say RecipeZaar. But now I realize you’re talking about sites as in Xanga sites! In that case, I have to say aied8pes. She is great and always so challenging and uplifting. Plus, she’s so knowledgeable about God’s Word!!
5th?
http://www.themoviespoiler.com , not enough time in the day to catch’em all
well, I really like this one,
, but I would have to say tildystar , and melizma … both are great… best blogring has GOT to be Coffee stained pages, though…
Yours, N8ivwarrior and his wife Queensuchandsuch ‘s sites. N8 reminds me of Dowhachado89 (how Dowha USED to be back when he was constantly on xanga). He’s funny, he’s interesting and his posts are always well put together and a good read. His wife’s site is the same way. The dynamics between them in comments to each other and such are HILARIOUS!
My boyfriend’s, just because he is an amazing writer and his posts make me cry sometimes (in a good way).
http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com
the characters are great, and the artwork is pretty good. Mostly it’s just funny, cause I get the gamer jokes.
http://www.xanga.com/lilfwog - find out for yourself ….. lolz
lemquinsquirrel Always funny and philosophical!
I like ryancardone. He hasn’t posted in awhile, but his posts are funny and thought provoking…
BettyC writes a heart-touching site of her life as a non-for-profit attorney, fiercely loving mom, and new wife. In her writing, she often includes imagery of Western Nebraska where she was raised. What most impresses me is the way she’ll start off with a memory, or an image, go on what you think is a loosely-related tangent, then tie it all up at the end to make you realize you just read a finely-written essay, not something harked up for the excuse of having a blog entry.
Rache, on the other hand, is a shoot-milk-from-your nose irreverent laugh riot. She is unapologetic and uncensored and yet you do see the real woman underneath, with real feelings, fears, and passion.
And they’ll probably both kill me for sending your million hordes to their sites. People, be nice.
Dan you know I love yours the best…..
Candy XO
Oh, and I forgot to add in my last comment…….Mrs_tiggy_winkle. Marlene is such a wonderful person. She doesn’t update that often any longer, but she is just such a kind, caring, and deep person! I love her to pieces!
everyone’s cuz if i didn’t like it i wouldn’t go back. =P
Herman Hesse books are full of points to ponder. Not entertaining byt self searching and evaluating.
Salon.com – good, independent journalism
Somethingpositive.net – best webcomic I’ve seen
Postsecret.com – People mail in their secrets on a postcard, pretty freaky stuff.
Deviantart.com – Online art community with oodles of talented artists. (And me.)
TheTheologiansCafe.
http://www.xanga.com/thientam - another one that I just started reading, good stuff.
my big brother’s and my friends….too many to list with links….
I have so many I could name; depends on my mood of the day which is my favorite. I want to thank you for visiting my site the last few days and for leaving comments and your support in the project to lift a discouraged spirit. The “boycott” was a tongue-in-cheek phrase that mushroomed into something that could have caused some hard feelings. You handled it with the graciousness of a true gentleman and I appreciate that.
I like http://www.slate.com
I have a lot that I can name, but one that I like is http://www.homestarrunner.com.
RYC: He (John Jr.) called me yesterday! I’d talked to him a few times on the phone before that, but mostly only so he could help me with computer problems, and to help my husband with a prob. he was having with Excel. *Smiles* It was so good to hear from him! He was my oldest sub. I miss him!
Have a great day, Dan!
I love to visit http://www.xanga.com/Lanateyoni . She doesn’t post every day, but when she does, it’s sometimes controversial but always entertaining.
I also like to visit http://www.xanga.com/halomutiny . She posts everday, and even when she has stuff going on, she always has something positive to say.
Of course you know my favorite are you and http://www.xanga.com/mafrenzy .
Hattrick!
This website is a soccer based simulation game where you use the economy to buy and sell players that you’ve trained. You can play (well watch) two games per week.
RYC: Good point Dan. You don’t want to deal with a big lawsuit later! You are a man after my own heart.
Lately I’ve noticed http://www.xanga.com/cyndelee to be interesting.
I am new to this whole ‘bolgging thing’, but aside from the already popular sites, I enjoy JabezPrayer and REMUSPRIME.
retroactivegirl and adifferentkindofbeautiful are awesome. also open_welts and jackisarockstar.
Heck…my entire sub list. I wouldn’t be susbcribed to them if I didn’t like ‘em! (well, there are a few exceptions on there…I should fix that…)
http://www.xanga.com/themockingbyrd excellent site very creative author
I like this girl’s site cuz she writes about interesting topics: http://www.xanga.com/lichunsah
and this site because he posts cool snowboarding videos: http://www.xanga.com/buttertime
Mufasa_Lives_06, yousack, and namorama are some of my fav sites to see… too bad some of them hardly ever write back…*tear**
Do you mean Xanga sites?
http://www.xanga.com/HAZMAT_lounge
http://www.xanga.com/cyndelee
http://www.xanga.com/tandtbaker2004
http://www.xanga.com/luna_kachine
http://www.xanga.com/IceWaterRunsThroughMyVeins
and of course yours.
Thanks, for the comment. It’s just really time consuming. I’ll alwyas remember what my wife’s grandfather said to me when I met for the first time after we got married. He looked at me, placed his hand on my shoulder, and asked “So you married her?” I said, “yes”. He said, “Remember that this too shall pass”.
I thought that we were talking about xanga sites. Are we?
I thought that we were talking about xanga sites. Are we?
mybaddy is the best, He makes me smile. Then there is Boo, she is a very talented writer and a beautiful person. She can make you angry then laugh and the cry all in one short post.
http://www.postsecret.com . some people just see humor, but some secrets are vulnerable and make me want to connect to that person…
and of course, http://www.homestarrunner.com
aeid8pes & Sugarblue2 – thought-provoking questions, always direction people to Christ…
Also Tim and Sugarblue2
and aeid8pes
yet_still_learning is another one of my favorites. She is always so uplifting.
I enjoy yours, of course, as well as Novelle361. My other favorite is NatalieDeltaGam just because I find we have a lot in common. Like reading the journal of a good friend.
RYC: Oh come on Dan…play fair…which house would YOU really like?
And…since you asked…if you really want to have a good chuckle you gotta visit Harlem_Lady. Her experiences with her family and neighborhood are a HOOT! As I have gotten to know her I have found her unbelievably REAL…and a really nice person.
There are so many…
GraciEllen and CallMeDark are two girls I know who always have something pretty to say. TheTheologiansCafe is the only thing I’ve ever seen on the Featured Content worth clicking on. He poses a lot of good questions. And whenever life points him that way, fenixarcane has some nice musings, but I hear he hasn’t written much lately because he’s taken up painting as a new hobby.
-Adam
i think there are reasons why my favorite sites are the popular ones, but this guy is new http://www.xanga.com/JellOtto and i like his site.
He kinda reminds me of Cakalusa, but he’s less harsh? lol
Acid Zen Wonder Paint is an awesome site. It’s hilarious. Take some time and browse around it.
Okay, well, if you’re talking specifically Xanga sites, then you, Mr. TheologiansCafe, Frailife, and LordJabez.
However, going beyond that, I suggest writing.com, nanowrimo.org, and bloggert.com.
God bless!
Shohna
It’s called egg in spoon egg in spoon and she is an absolutely fantastic writer! I have no idea who she is, I just stumbled across her blog one day. Her words just BELONG together.
if something not popular, then i like the site of this random person’s illustrative journal i found online. she does a lot of personal drawings. i like the blind contour friday drawings the most. those are drawings without looking at your paper while drawing… i like to visit that site once in a while… i don’t have the url right now. it’s saved on my personal labtop and i am currently using another one… then i also like stopping by http://www.asofterworld.com … they do a weekly update of a stupid mini strip… i also like http://www.garfield.com to read the strips…
Okay, well, if you’re talking specifically Xanga sites, then you, Mr. TheologiansCafe, Frailife, and LordJabez.
However, going beyond that, I suggest writing.com, nanowrimo.org, and bloggert.com.

St_Udio is excellent! Very good for a laugh.
I like http://www.penny-arcade.com for game news and fun comics. I also like http://www.postsecret.com for interesting designs and a peek in to people’s lives.
i like numanga’s site. sorry i’m bad with links today.
Sunnycalifornia, mybaddy, mafrenzy, etc., etc. A lot of times I learn something going on the news just by reading my xanga.
xanga, community and such. But also wikipedia, Wired, and Google News…among many others! Box office mojo is great for box office reports, too!
you are going to make me pick just ONE? How about you…which is your favorite?
I love yours! I love conversation and debate, that is definately what this one is about.
But I think the ones I enjoy the most are asymmetrik, JonasApproved, and lokei81
I have so many, here are just a few, RachelsMommy, LonaMay, mouthygurl, transvestite_rabbit, QueenSuchandSuch, I have many more but they are already somewhat popular. These are sites that aren’t always recognized, well written, funny etc..
Teenwriter’s xanga is great, he always interesting subjects to talk about. I like yours too…
But you know, everyones is very different, it would be more like choosing your favorites in categories I think would be more fair.
Yours would be my favorite in conversation/debate
asymmetrik in personal life
JonasApproved and Lokei81 are about the same in daily blurbs/rantings/etc.
http://www.i-am-bored.com is pretty cool.
I also check JesusWasALiberalJew ‘s site almost daily, along with xyp’s site.
I like it when people share spiritual stuff. I like posts that are about spiritual matters. Those are the kinds of sites I like to visit.
Oh, Xanga sites…
http://www.xanga.com/HolyDiver11 funny guy
http://www.xanga.com/darkstar9380 funny guy
http://www.xanga.com/PlainOleMike funny guy, great writer

http://www.xanga.com/happydeviant funny gal, interesting gal
http://www.xanga.com/numanga funny guy
Those are just the ones that come to mind immediately…
Besides yours, Dan – SugarBlue2
Hope that worked! If not, I apologize for the wasted space.
Oh.. I know Novelle gets a decent amount of traffic, but I love her site. Its so witty, and thoughtful. She’s a awesome writer.
Novelle361
I decided to limit my selections to 10 that I think might need more attention than they usually get. Its not a popularity contest and I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. These are just the first 10 that I came across in my subscription list that I thought qualified.

Well your is number one, but since we can’t mention sites that are already popular…. i would have to say Geothewannabe she’s pretty funny most of the time.
I didn’t list you, Dan – because, really, what do you need with more commentors?
You are the master, though.
L,r
hmmmm…..i really dont know would usatoday.com count as one of the choices because i like reading it
I’m gonna go with Drakonskyr, SmellsLikeDeadLobster, Novelle361, TorontoGirl, and DillonAndersen.
I agree with melbarudy that http://www.xanga.com/PlainOleMike is a great writer and funny!
I love http://www.xanga.com/TheTheologiansCafe …hehe^^ Please keep it up Dan : )
Omniglot.com. Foreign languages.
Discoballworld is site I go to often. I know I will get a good laugh there. Beth has a crazy “in your face” sense of humor.
http://www.rocketboom.com
It’s a daily 3-minute video blog that covers a wide range to interesting topics. The host and the format make this the only other site besides coming to Xanga that I go to on a regular basis. Amanda rocks!
Yours, Trim Tab, PoetryBox, Philosopheress, Ron Law Houston…just to name a few.
Thank you for your thoughts I really appreciate them.
-Pilgrim of Truth
i dunno. I like all the people I sub to, or else I wouldn’t be subbing to them. That being said.. it’s about maybe 47 sites. I think I’m fairly selecteve since some people have over 100 they sub to!
One of my favorite site’s is http://www.custommixes.com . It is a site that lets you order custom mixes of music for dance teams and cheerleading. The guy is super great and the people are really fast and friendly. My other favorite is http://www.playbill.com which is where I get a lot of information concerning Broadway productions, tickets, tours, and auditions. Check ‘em out!!
Specifically, I look forward to effyourself’s posts…
poems_are_my_soul
Troydetmer’s because his updates are usually pretty effing hilarious.
i like reading http://www.xanga/tornupsketches. it’s very insightful and i’m sure she would love it if more people commented on her site.
RYC: He has an interesting Xanga, doesn’t he? I’ve recently come across him, and I enjoy reading LordJabez’s xanga blog.
Thank you for the comment!
God bless,
Shohna
Oh yourrsss! ZOMG aslkoveiiapc FOBBLE BLOG! LOLLLzzz!
CazzaC Great writing…
I love PostSecret, but I’m sure everyone already knows about it. I also go to SquidFingers simply because I adore the layout and the little off-beat things and especially the patterns, which I use for site backgrounds. And probably one of the most AMAZING sites is Van Gogh and Gauguin, which uses the coolest flash and web design to tell a story of the two artists. Last is the work of my favorite poet, Pablo Neruda.
Ok, I’m done.
PlainOleMike has a well-written, funny site.
I’m in love with http://postsecret.blogspot.com/ … It is amazing!
92nd!
I like i-am-bored.com. that and yours Dan. You bring up some points that get the old wheels turning.
http://www.xanga.com/erinmerryn
I think she’s an incredible person to go through what’s she been through and come out on top.
Well, I don’t really have alot that I visit. Most of the sites that I visit are personal Xangas and aren’t really meant to get recognition. There are a good bit of popular sites that I visit, but you asked for us not to include those, so I shall not. But here’s three that deserve more recognition than they are receiving.
IdeallyYours — this person started a while back and didn’t get many comments, so I think they stopped updating. Perhaps you could give them more motivation to start posting again.
LyricallyInsane — this site is awesome guys, I love their work.
ThisGodlyFight — this is my site that I recently started, I think some of the comments that the other people make are just as good or better than my entries.
Well, there you go. Enjoy.
Nicholas
http://www.despair.com
hilarious
ITaKeNaPs2 Insightful and photogenic.
I’d have to say all_american_girl. She’s witty and fun. Doesn’t update every day, but good when she does.
myspizzle.
My favorite sites is my husband’s (isaacrw). He always tries to get people to think outside of the box.
http://www.xanga.com/red_dirt_girl is hilarious and witty.
I enjoy reading sleeky because she and I share similar senses of humor and also mama stories. I also like sheilster because of our common geo- backgrounds and our love of dogs. And then there’s your site, of course, because you make me think more than I would otherwise.
What are your favorite sites?
http://www.postsecret.blogspot.com
http://www.newyorkhack.blogspot.com
http://www.foundmagazine.com
Because I always have more questions than answers:
http://www.wikipedia.org/
Then I have more questions!
I don’t have a favorite just surf as the mood strikes me. Judi
http://www.googlecommunity.com because it’s all about the latest in Google and web development
http://www.xanga.com/edlives …for the brain fried moments (yeah, shameless plug).
Also yours, and all of those that I’ve subscribed to…as it provides dialog in my life that is lacking at times due to a 2 year old at home.
ok, thought over…………..i’m fried.
my own xanga site.. because I like my audiences
ucomics (mostly foxtrot)… because they have funny comic strips
forum.. if I’m bored
you mentioned that people have developed habits.. everyday they’ll check up the sites. I’m sorry that I don’t get to comment on all of your posts.. I should make it a habit too
-Ko
There’s a few that I look forward to reading everyday, but I know I’ll spell something wrong, so check out my subscription list to get teh correct spelling, it’s small, but stocked with goodies.
Novelle, theblackspiderman, Kathy_K, Koremega – always entertaining.
CyndeeLee, jpholl, and aphrodieti – also consistantly good
I’m rather fron od a site that my friend and I share, LyricallyInsane, where we write poems and lyrics and all that jazz. Other than that, it’s prolly a new one I found JohnnyFelts- his Monster Mashes are great
fond of* gah
xanga.com/swim_shark
xanga.com/daveman99
xanga.com/collision_kiss
peace max
MarkLupton because he’s a 1st rate cool guy, has a great sense of humor and is not afraid to say things the things most guys would be too embarassed to talk about.
I have to say that second to your site is cowboy_christian …not just cuz he is my soon to be son-in-law but because he has a wonderful writting gift.
http://www.xanga.com/LiGHTthe___skyline
Check it out & see for yourself. She writes a lot of poetry and it’s worth reading.
>Ariana
postsecret.ca – because after I read the secrets I feel somewhat normal!
or did you mean xanga??
in that case…. I have a few.. I’ll have to narrow it down..
for xanga it would be ReverendDel – simply because I like what he has to say!
www.gaiaonline.com
Okay, it’s a popular one, but oh well. It’s an internet community that circulates around Anime, and Manga. I don’t like that stuff that much, but I do like the forums.
Mugglenet.com. Addictive. Harry Potter. It’s all good.
On xanga I enjoy http://www.xanga.com/devildogs_doll. She’s been featured, but not as high profile I guess. Her writing is great and she’s got a quirky sense of humour that’s fun to read. Plus, her Tales From the Looney Bin have been quite entertaining.
Outside of xanga… http://www.brainofbrian.com, http://www.despair.com, and any sites about British history, particularly the Elizabethan era.
I love Drakonskyr. No foolin. He always has something to say that makes me laugh my ass off and think at the same time “Hell yes!”
Eva.
Real Clear Politics
casey_at_bat is usually uplifting to read and has some clever insight.
FKIProfessor combines intellect and wierdness.
Lowkey44 can present interesting and challening points of view.
overheardinnewyork.com consists of overheard conversations on the subway, in restaurants, on the street.. Very amusing.
theonion.com, cause it’s frickin hilarious……
i have a few too… i just started to write some up…but there are too many and i can’t say that i love one more than another. There is one in particular…but i may hurt others feelings if i write it up….duhhhhhhhh.
http://www.hatrack.com
I like PlainOleMike, that seems to be my current favorite.
It has to be JennyG. She puts her whole soul on her blog; she’s sassy, blunt and no-nonsense but at the same time, a real earth mother. You can’t read her and not love her.
http://www.actsofgord.com is hilarious!
i love reading JennyG… i love her spirit.,her life is so amazing!!
For me it has to be Devildogsdoll, a writer yet to be published in my eyes.
http://en.wikipedia.org
hey i like yours. a little study of the human behavior is always good
One of my favorite sites is Madhousewife. She writes beautifully, about normal stuff, but with great humor. I’m not close to her, and she has NEVER commented my site, although I comment her every time I go… but I keep going simply because I always love the story she tells.
yours! You are the best and always have wonderful topics.
I like Kosmic_Blues
well you of course … and my girl inmydreamzone … luna_kachine … TimsHead … troydetmer … Rowdeezy … Starry_Eyed_82 … just too many to mention!!!

I would really have to say http://www.homestarrunner.com. It’s just so funny and a relief from your day. I would most defonately reccomend the “strong bad” e-mails. Hillarious!
One I’ve gotten caught up in recently is dingus6.
postsecret.com
just because…theres nothing quite like reading other peoples deepest secrets
RINKWORKS.COM!!! WOO!!!
Text adventures, dude. Text adventures.
This girl’s site, CTkajax. She writes as much as possible and any time she can’t get on, she either isn’t allowed to or its because of sports. She writes what she thinks and what she feels. If you comment on her site she’s SURE to comment you back. She’s really nice too, she has a lot of experience with moving and having to start things all over again. Its kinda sad that so few people know her in real life and on here and she’s such a nice person. Well yea, that’s why I like her site so much.
http://www.xanga.com/ctkajax here’s a link
I’m new at this, so the only one I can really mention Yours, Dan. It stimulates my cerebral cortex. :`)
I like MySpace, Quizilla, Xanga, and Wikipedia! Google doesnt count since thats like wat every1 uses these days, lol
~ Gee!!!!
Three come to mind, “jerusha”, “timmyboy82″ and “radioman55″. Brilliant writing from some great guys.
yours…

i am glad i found it ….
you provoke brain activity

ShelobUngoliant. Found eVa’s site just poking around as a new Xanga blogger. Found a kindred spirit and love to read her posts – such raw honesty.
