  • Blogging Part 2

I mentioned in my last post that I read a book about blogging.  One of the paragraphs in the book was about picking a good name for your blog.  They gave advice to picking a good name for your blog.

How did you come up with the name for your blog?

  • Blogging

I went to the bookstore again last night to look for a book about blogging.  I did find a few books on the issue.  Once again, I went to look and see if there was a section on increasing traffic.  I couldn’t find anything helpful.  I have only found two book on blogging that even addressed the issue of increasing traffic to a blog.

One part of the book was touching on the issue:  How to keep your blog interesting?  It was only a paragraph but it gave some good advice.

What do you do to keep your blog interesting?

  • CPR

Pretend you are the first person to arrive at an accident.  Pretend you know how to perform CPR.  Pretend that as you walked up, you see the person lying on the side of the street.  The man has been thrown from the car.  He is severely injured and he is bleeding badly.  He is also bleeding out of the mouth.  You know he needs CPR.

Would you perform CPR to help save his life?

  • Cursing Part 3

We are saying the F-word more.  A recent poll done by the AP indicated that Americans think that we have been cursing more.  74 percent of Americans said “they encounter profanity in public frequently or occasionally.”  In addition to that, “Two-thirds said they think people swear more than they did 20 years ago.”  Most of the people thought we were using the F-word more.

    Are we cursing too much?

  • Death Part 3

Who would mourn your death the most?

  • Death Part 2

What person’s death would cause you the most pain?

  • Death

I want to try a hypothetical situation.  Pretend your best friend died.  Pretend you went to the visitation.  Pretend you walked up to the casket that was opened.

Would you touch your dead friend in the casket?

  • Tribunals

The Supreme Court heard arguments on Tuesday about the terrorism suspects that are imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.  President Bush wants to have special rules for handling these suspected terrorist because they are not citizens.  He wants to be able to have them placed in a prison and tried with little ability to appeal the decisions by a federal judge.

In other words, he wants to limit the rights of these prisoners because they are suspected terrorist.  The concern of the President is that by going through the normal procedures, information about American weakness could be made public and exploited by terrorist.  The concern of those who oppose this is that there will be no check and balances to protect the rights of the suspected terrorist.

Should the rights of the suspected terrorist be restricted in order to provide safety for American citizens?

  • The Issue

We have dealt with serious issues today.  We have talked about immigration.  We have talked about religion.  We have even touched on the issue of voting.  Now I want to put us in a place where we have to make a stand on the real issues that we are confronted with in our daily lives.

If you had to pick between one or the other, would you prefer to have diarrhea or constipation?

  • Religion

I read a comment on another site that mentioned that a great deal of the people on my site are Christian.  It doesn’t surprise me that I have a great deal of people that are Christian because I am a Christian.  But I also think that there are a great deal of people on my site that would not describe themselves as Christian.  I am sort of interested in how you would describe yourselves.  I want to give a few different categories that I think are out there and then you can describe yourself as one of them or something else.

Which of the following do you think best describes you:

    1. Christian
    2. I would not describe myself as a Christian but maybe some day I will become one and I am pretty open to Christianity.
    3. I am not a Christian but I am not hostile to Christianity.  It is just not for me.
    4. I am a different religion than Christianity.
    5. I am opposed to Christianity and everything about it.
