Jornalism isn’t all its cracked up to be. I’ve worked as a news journalist for a few years now and I’m ready to get out.
I’d say my dream job would involve working with, or being able to help people. After all, only two things will last forever–the word of God and the souls of men.
A creator…of all things…not God..but one that makes things that are beautiful and meaningful to others….or at least myself. (Now how does this go? I’m sixth seventh? Well I’m i the top ten. Swizzle!)
I don’t have the talent. But if I did, I would want to write or become a photographer.
Serve God wherever, however.

My current job (and job path) is close to being my ultimate dream job. The other thing I’d think about is something animal related– like being a trainer/keeper for snow leopards. Or running a home for abandoned cats.
But what I do now (with its stresses and everything) is so worthwhile and meaningful and has such a long-term (if hard to see at first) impact on society… I feel so good about myself making these small every-day differences that I know I wouldn’t get from the above jobs.
Funny…I’ve been trying to figure what my dream job would be for the last month or so now. (As a college sophmore).

I would want to run a record label. I’ve always wanted to do something in the music industry, and I’m not musically gifted, so that’s what pops into my mind.

I have several works in progress (working on approximately 8 years) but have yet to get it completed. I realize when I respond to these questions that I tend to be rather wordy but I like to detail my responses. I have long been told that I am a great writer. I have had teacher encourage me in my writing. I write fiction and poetry. I believe the first thing I actually complete and sell will be a collection of family favorite recipies. I need to pull all my poetry together and maybe I’ll print it myself for sale.

ryc: people always say that to me. it’s so annoying. it denotes a tone of condescention because media and TV are blamed for many ills in our children (rather than just plain old bad parenting), so people like to villianize women who use technology to help them with their children. it’s a self righteous and obnoxious judgement. i have no idea if this is what you were implying in your statement, cause, well, text on a screen is difficult to interpret without body language or the intonation of one’s voice . . . but just giving you a sense of why i’m so over hearing that.
anyway, before modern technology women weren’t working in offices like this and many weren’t family-less single mothers (i.e. don’t live at home with their own family in lieu of a husband) who had to take their children with them to the office. Not that working women or single motherhood are completely new, but the social dynamic has changed (re: single mothers living completely on their own, not living with family, and still pursuing education and careers). thanks to many advances in modern technology, from iPods to birth control to computers and PDAs, as a young, single mother I am able to still puruse many things in life that weren’t available to a women who would’ve choosen my path many years ago.

ryc: people always say that to me. it’s so annoying. it denotes a tone of condescention because media and TV are blamed for many ills in our children (rather than just plain old bad parenting), so people like to villianize women who use technology to help them with their children. it’s a self righteous and obnoxious judgement. i have no idea if this is what you were implying in your statement, cause, well, text on a screen is difficult to interpret without body language or the intonation of one’s voice . . . but just giving you a sense of why i’m so over hearing that.
anyway, before modern technology women weren’t working in offices like this and many weren’t family-less single mothers (i.e. don’t live at home with their own family in lieu of a husband) who had to take their children with them to the office.

A writer. But you see, I am often inspired by life. I need to have unique and odd experiences to be a great writer. Perhaps even then, being a writer isn’t enough…I need something else.
Ultimately what I want to do is vague. I want to make an impression on people…for the better. To provide some sort of escapism to help them see the world in a different light. I want to be the one who helps someone out of darkness and help them realize that their way out–a light switch–was behind them. To help bring hope. Through writing, I could do that.
