  • Wet T-Shirt Contest

Wet T-Shirt Contest have been around since the beginning of time or at least since the beginning of t-shirts.  But a lawsuit has been brought against Playboy and a few other organizations concerning one of these contest.  According to the St. Petersburg Times, a young lady was entered into one of the contest when she was only 16.  She entered the contest when she was on spring break in Daytona Beach.  She has said at the time she didn’t realize she was being taped when she exposed herself.  She also has said she never signed a consent form.

She became aware of the tape when one of her neighbors saw her in the tape.  The young lady is now 21 and said “I think it makes me look like a prostitute or porn movie star, almost like I am trying to show my body to the camera, which I was not.”  Promoters had asked the young lady if she was “of age.”  She admits that she lied to them.  She won $100 in the contest.

A social worker is reported to have told her that she should call a lawyer because she was a “sexually exploited minor.”

Was this young lady a sexually exploited minor?

  • yes..I belive she was…

  • She didn’t give her consent to be shown on tape, so yes.

    And woo, first!

  • Ok, second. Dang.

(I’ll reply to your comment in a bit)

  • She exploited herself when she entered the contest.

  • no…. its her own fault!

  • She was underage.  She wasn’t exactly innocent since she lied, but she WAS sexually exploited, in my opinion.

  • She isn’t being nice…

    but the law is there

  • the only legal leg she has to stand on is the fact they made a tape and distributed it for profi without her consent. She willingly took part in a wet tshirt contest .

  • yes

she decided to do it, but she was 16. who knows what they’re doing?

  • yes, but i think she was kind of an idiot.

  • Absolutely not. Both parties were lusty idiots.

  • wow. top ten. i meant who knows what they’re doing when they’re 16

  • depends. was i there?

  • People make mistakes when they are young,
this mistake just happens to be very illegal ebcause she’s a minor and it can get people in trouble.

she should just work something out with them or something…

technically she is sexually exploited (that law is important!!)

but, i think who ever made the tape needs to try to verify age better

i mean, if a girl lies to a man about being of age it’s still his fault for having sex with her, no matter how unfair that is, (but it being That way does more good than harm because how do you know the girl lied, etc, etc.)

  • Tough one.  I wonder if they required  ID.  If not, I bet they will now.

  • yeah, even though she was a bit of a tard for doing it in the first place

  • She didn’t exactly keep from exposing herself to any number of onlookers with a wet t-shirt contest. However I find it extremely distasteful that such a video would be made without consent forms (…and that it would be made at all, but that’s a different matter). So based on the second thought, yes she was exploited.

  • That was her fault. It makes her look like a prostitute because, well, she was ACTING like one. There’s a difference between exploiting and decency.

  • psh. no. she’s the one that lied.

    <3 Catrina

  • No, she won a hundred dollars by flashing a group of strangers, she needs to suck it up and get over it.

  • No. Tough titty. She admitted she lied. Are these guys supposed to hook them all up to lie detectors? Grow up and move with your life.

  • she shouldn’t have been in a wet t-shirt contest. very simple. if you’re willing to do that in front of people, than expect that someone is going to video tape it. of course, I’m not saying that the people who taped it weren’t wrong for not letting her know. but everybody in the situation is at fault.

  • She’s an idiot. Not a ‘sexually exploited minor’.

  • technically it’s all her fault for entering the contest in the first place

  • umm you take your clothes off in front of a bunch of people but yet have a problem when someone sees you…?????? SOMEONE needs to think things through

  • Exploited? I don’t really think so. She entered the contest of her own choice, and lied about her age. Was it a stupid thing to do . . . well, yeah.

  • Its legal to video tape anyone you want to in a public place. Not that its right to do so, but any girl needs to be aware that that is a possibility whenever they do something stupid like that.

  • no, thats so dumb… she should maybe think once in awhile…

  • She “exposed” herself, not too smart.

When you show your privates in public, you don’t have much of a case.

  • If she took the $100, then she is a complete fool.

  • she is but it’s not playboy’s fault. she LIED to them. it’s hard to tell when people are lying.

  • I agree with this guy:

the only legal leg she has to stand on is the fact they made a tape and distributed it for profi without her consent. She willingly took part in a wet tshirt contest .

    And that she’s an idiot!

  • she lied about her age.. so obviously it was not their fault. dumb shit.

  • ryc: How true that is, and the scams are on the rise! So many people are sucked into them, the FTC (Federal Trade Commisson) can’t keep up w/ them! I hate to see people lose their hard earned dollars on ponzi schemes, but it happens.

  • Niiiiice. It’s all fun and games until your neighbor see your breasts. She was 16 then, she’s 21 now…so, five years ago. Five years ago was the peak of the “Girls Gone Wild” videos. I knew about them five years ago. Enough so that I wouldn’t have flashed a guy with a camcorder. She assumed the roll of an adult when she told them that she was of age and when she accepted the $100, she should be treated as such in the eyes of the law.

  • An oversight in failing to view Age ID will see this organiser in a legal joust; the young woman will be protected by law.

This has nothing to do with her decision to lie about her age and enter the event.

Obviously her sights were set on a cash money prize, just as now they are set on a cash money pay-out.

  • I could rant, but I’m not.

This girl is a moron. Plain and simple. And to be honest, anyone with enough character to speak of either 1)wouldn’t be a 16 year old in a wet t-shirt contest or 2)wouldn’t care, and would chalk it up to the innumarable list of awesome things that they could tell their friends about. Wait, forget number two. Because that’s not awesome. It’s just stupid. And as far as the law goes, she may be entitled to some recompensation, but I hope to GOD that someone tells this bitch to her face that she’s just a skank, and whether or not she wins this lawsuit, having gone public with it is only going to hurt her for the rest of her life.

Stupid people REALLY piss me off. And I guess I did rant. Sorry.

    -Adam

  • She shouldn’t have lied about her age, but then again, maybe they should have asked for ID’s, too. At the very least, minor or not, consent forms are a must if there is filming going on. There was fault on both sides, but I’d have to lean more toward the side of the young lady. There should have been more safeguards in place. She wouldn’t have been the first teen to lie about their age. Especially during Spring Break in Florida.

  • RYC: Yes, it is!

  • Yes – but had she not lied… would it have resulted in the same way?

  • no, she was a liar. she said that she didnt know she was being taped, but come on, she didnt know that at a wet t-shirt contest where she LIED for the opportunity to expose herself publicly, that people were there to watch said event that people would be taking pictures and taping? she lied then and she’s probably lying now. thats like inviting someone over for dinner then calling the police and saying they are tresspassing. she should be slapped… hard… many times.

  • She should get nothing (no damages), but the sale of the tape should be forbidden and the film makers and distributers should be brought up on child porn charges.

  • Nope.  It’s her fault.

  • Legally? Probably. But she lied, and got into that thing on purpose.

  • Where are the pictures! How can I decide without seeing all the evidence!

  • She lied to her parents, the facility and to those around her. She accepted a $100.00 prize. She was ok doing this in a room packed full of strangers till she found they were making bigger money than she realized and her neighbor now knows her secret. What are the real motivations here?

  • no, this girl is an idiont. despite what she may think, waivers and actually being of age will not prevent a video like this from ending up on the web or anything like that. if you choose to expose yourself to other people, then you shouldn’t try to blame others when that mistake comes back to haunt you. i’m sorry that this did come back to haunt her, but i have absolutely no pity for her and do not condone her trying to bring a lawsuit against anyone for her own stupidity.

  • no, but she is now trying to exploit someone.  She was a stupid 16 year old girl, who really knew better, and now would like to profit from her mistake.

  • Since she didn’t give her consent to be taped, yes.

  • Who cares.

  • > That is a tough call. Overall, if nothing else, it will make the contest holders a little more careful about checking i.d. information. But if she didn’t want to appear a ho, then skip the contests. You stick it out there, it will wind up in someones photo album or cd collection. Personally, I enjoy the show, but if they are minors, they get what they deserve for being stupid. Never assume!

    Peace

  • I say grow up ~ come on, you go into a wet t-shirt contest and think people won’t be interested? Of course you knew people would be interested ~  that’s why you lied about your age! If you want a better hold on your sexuality . . . don’t be in a wet t-shirt contest.

  • I’m sorry, but somebody taping you doesn’t make you any more of a slut than you already are. If you’re stupid enough to show breast to a crowd of perfect strangers, what the hell difference does it make if someone takes advantage of your stupidity and shows it to a wider audience? If you’re asking me if I feel sorry for this girl just because she was young, no.

  • On the one hand, they should have gotten signed conset from her.

On the other, in this day and age of teeny camcorders, digital cameras and picturephones, you HAVE to assume that whatever crazy thing you’re doing is gonna get recorded.

This should not have happened to her, but goddamn girls have GOT to wake up and realize they can’t do stupid shit and have it not come back and bit them in the butt.

  • uhm.. no, she is NOT… I agree with PaintbaIIJnk3 … honestly… society can be SO ludicrous sometimes…

  • Sorry girly, once you expose your privates to a bunch of strangers, your tits are officially public domain.

  • NO.
why would you enter a wet t-shirt contest to begin with? you already know what you’re getting yourself into. What does it matter if you’re taped or not unless you were ashamed of what you were doing?

  • uh, yeah she was exploited! whatever happened to requiring ID?

  • probably not.. 16 years old are not naive..  they know what they are getting in to..  she probably just want to make some money.

    j

  • no, shes a sexually stupid minor

  • I think PaintbaIIJnk3 summed it up quite nicely.  What did she expect? She lied… She accepted money … She exposed herself.  She was not exploited.

  • the promoters should have checked IDs and she shouldn’t have lied.

  • She is partly at fault: 1) she should not have lied about her age; 2) she should have checked all the T&Cs before entering the contest.

  • Bull!  She lied about her age, so to Playboy’s knowledge, she was not a minor.  All of the girls in that magazine are exploited, but they put themselves in that position voluntarily.

  • u don’t win a contest without ”selling it”.she kewn what was happening. she’s just embarrassed now and wants money

  • Let’s see…she entered the contest [voluntarily, I assume], she lied to the officials and it was Spring Break in Daytona.  I have no sympathy for this girl and I think her lawsuit is frivilous.  If they used her image without her consent, there MIGHT be a case there for exploitation.  But saying she didn’t realize a camera was rolling when she exposed herself…please.  People like this make me tired.

  • In this case, absolutely NOT.

She made a decision to show her breasts to a crowd, not so much for the possiblity of a meagre hundred bucks but for the validation of getting hooted at by a crowd of guys as she poured water on her t-shirt and flashed her boob to get a reaction telling her that she was bad, or good depending.

She got caught, she feels stupid, she is blaming playboy for her DECISION and trying to get money.

    Its PATHETIC.

  • They should’ve checked IDs.  Legally – yes she is.  Morally – she did it to herself.

  • It’s the ‘young lady’s’ own fault. She entred the contest and lied about her age! Pfft. Technically, she wasn’t even supposed to be in the contest, was she? It was her own fault.

  • Sounds to me like someone else trying to milk the system for all it’s worth.

No, I do not think she was sexually exploited. I think she was well aware of what was going to happen. I mean, come on, you do that in public on Spring Break and not expect someone to have some sort of camera? It’s her own fault.

  • no, she’s just a ho that “grew up”.

  • Well, while they probably should have told her she was being taped, she did say she was of age.  It’s hard to say, but I’d say she did it to herself, even if she didn’t realize the full range of consequences at the time…

  • I think she is responsible for her own actions and was not exploited. 16 yr old’s are well aware of what wet t-shirt contests are, they are also well aware of the many video cameras running at spring break (those girls gone wild vidoes are proof of that), they are aware of their options (to enter the contest or not). If a person chooses to lie in order to show off their body, then it is that person’s fault, not the camera man’s.

  • “almost like I am trying to show my body to the camera, which I was not.”  she wasnt trying to show her body to the camera, just the hundreds of horny guys on spring break.  what is a 16 year old doing on spring break anyways, im 18 and i didnt even go.  and no, she was not exploited, she was retarded.

  • No. She’s an idiot for entering herself into the contest and any violation of rights/laws is her own fault.

  • she was until she lied about her age

  • Yes at the time when she was 16, but now since 21 she knew then what the _ she was doing. Took that fast 100 bucks.  Bet she bought cigarettes with all of that money.

  • We all do stupid things at some point or another that we regret later. Was she exploited, NO. It was her decision to lie about her age and enter the stupid contest anyway. . . We have to be careful about what we do, our sins are sure to find us out. . . Everything has consequences, some are good and some are bad; the hardest part is making the right choice so that we can live with the consequences of our actions. As the old saying goes, “If you play with fire, you will get burned.”

  • She lied about her age to win money. I think I know who was exploiting who.

  • So she doesn’t mind if people saw her topless, but she does if they filmed her topless… Well, I think she needs to get over it. She choose to do it, now she’s dealing with the consequences.

  • Yes, she was sexually exploit, but it was her own fault when she lied about her age, so there’s reslly no reason to file a lawsuit.

  • She should have known better.  Cameras are everywhere today, so are camera phones.  She needs to get over it.

  • to be so stupid as to exploit one’s self, she should have had the decency to ask if there was a camera taping them. So NO NO NO, she did that on her own consent. She said it made her look like a porno star and stuff, well she was being one!

  • Yes, she was a sexually exploited minor. But it was partially her fault too. She shouldn’t have joined the contest, without consent and all that jazz.

  • No…she didn’t think about what she was doing which is what happens to most people that wind up in trouble…I am sure that she saw all the cameras….I am sure she knew that when her shirt got wet you would be able to see everything….kinda like that new saying going around….what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas….no it doesn’t…it could possible ruin your life….

  • no, the games we ladies play.  At some point we must take personal responsibilty for our actions and 16 is old enough to know better.

People go to spring break with their video cams and cameras to get as much nakedness to last a lifetime.

    She had a choice.

  • She was… but she did choose to do it. I know she was young, but it still wasn’t exactly against her will.

  • ok….she said promoters asked if she was of age and SHE LIED…those are consequences she must live with

  • Absolutely not.  She lied about her age and gee whiz, she just didn’t realize someone might tape her?  How stupid is this girl?

  • no, because she chose to do that.

  • she was definitely an exploited minor since she did not give consent for the tape to be distributed.  it is also a fact of law that unemanicpated minors cannot enter into legally binding contracts, so even if she gave her consent for the tape to be released, she could still sue.

it is a fact of nature that people in general and young persons in particular will do foolish, stupid, and irresponsible things, especially to look “cool” in front of others.  spring break promoters bank on that, and set up these contests to elicit the greatest possible amout of peer pressure to get kids to do things they would never do otherwise.

she was exploited, yes, but not sexually exploited, since she was in charge of her own sexuality, and chose to enter the contest.

  • I entered a wet t shirt contest a few years ago, won and do not feel at all exploited :)

  • that she lied just to get into the contest. cause shes a whore.

    !~nicole~!

  • that she lied just to get into the contest. cause shes a whore.

    !~nicole~!

  • No.  She lied about her age.  Video cameras are legal in public.  The end.

  • Y’know, Dan.  I clicked on my subs and see “WET T-SHIRT CONTEST” at the very top.  You really know how to get a man’s hopes up only to dash them on the rocks of a law question.  :p

  • Yes but it is her own fault for being an idiot. She has no credibility to file any kind of lawsuit against anyone.

    [ariana]

  • No. she lied and took money and proceeds from it…

  • “No. She’s an idiot.”

Think that through. This assumes you have never done anything idiotic in your youth. Is it really a wise a comment to make?

To the issue at hand: is she exploited?

Although many are saying no because she freely exposed her breasts, I must say yes. Okay, she exposed herself, in public, lied about her age, collected money for doing such. Alright, fine. All of these are unacceptable things for a sixteen-year-old young woman to do. However, the issue is whether or not she knew she was being filmed at the time. If she did not, then, of course she is a sexually exploited minor. She did not consent to a video being made that would then be used for profit, which, by they way, she never received any part of. With this in mind…absolutely. She was exploited. No knowledge + no consent = exploitation. It does not matter whether she freely entered into the contest of not.

Now, if she knewthe contest were being taped and took part anyway, the answer would change.

  • if she lied of age then no she is not

  • This situation illustrates exactly why the law is what it is. She clearly did not have a maturity to make the decision for herself ro to realize she would have to deal with the consequences. And Playboy was extremely stupid for not doing a thorough check to see if all the participants were of age and had consented and made sure they had obtained legal proof of such as required by law. Regardless of the result of this woman’s suit, the law is going to come down hard on them.

This is not to say that the girl is blameless. What she did was stupid. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of 18+ year old girls who similarly lack maturity, and don’t have the “minor” recourse. Our society doesn’t breed maturity these days, which is a good thing…for the porn industry.

  • Stripper gets raped . . . .

16 shows her breasts to a whole crowd of people and gets “exploited” . . . .

Is anyone else seeing a pattern here?

These young women want to be able to do whatever they want to do without facing the natural consequences of their actions. That’s just not the way life works.

  • That is definately her own fault.  Honestly… if she’s going to expliot herself in front of strangers… then it doesn’t matter who sees it… she did it to herself!

  • If she lied about her age and did it sober then its her own fault, no one forced her to do it.
    She sexually exploited her self.

  • So she doesn’t care if a bunch of people see her topless, but she does if its on tape.
    How dumb is that.

  • Hell, no!  A 16-year-old enters a damn contest, she needs to accept the consequences, as long as she wasn’t raped or anything.

I’m not handing out any medals to Playboy or its photographers.  They shouldn’t be taking pictures of 16-year-olds in wet t-shirts, but our court calendars are already clogged trying to deal with scummier scum than you’re talking about here.  The social worker makes me angrier than do people who sell provocative tapes of minors.

Of course I’m not talking about kiddie porn or anything like that.  At least I hope I’m not.  I can be persuaded that I’m wrong about what is kiddie porn and what isn’t.  I say this isn’t.

  • RYC: Yes it certainly was. Just goes to show how divided people’s feelings on a certain topic can be.

  • She gave them her word that she was of age so no. Maybe they should start asking for ID so they don’t run into that problem again

  • I think that this is a very complicated issue. On one hand, she lied about her age and was therefore responsible for the situation that she was in. On the other hand, Playboy – being the “adults” should have not only checked ID to verify age, but also had consent forms and etc. for legal reasons just like this. She also should have been informed that this was being filmed. I don’t think that she could make an arguement that she was a sexually exploited minor – because she was already exploiting herself, but she can seek damages due to the “humiliation” caused by the film since she was not informed it was being filmed.

  • No. She’s a blatent whore.

  • There are two significant insights here.  First, that we live in a culture so depraved, so broken beyond repair, that such a question would be asked.  Second, the sampling of young america’s opinion as evidenced in the preceding answers, show a generation of individuals who are and will continue to evolve to be, morally bankrupt.

Can there be any other answer, other than YES!!!! yes, she was exploited.  I wonder if the answers to the above questions would have been different if all facts were revealed.  Would the opinions be different if the child’s age were lower?  12 years of age?  Would the opinions be different if the circumstances included full frontal nudity of the child?  Age 16?  Age 12?  Age 6?

The answer to your question is, yes.  She was exploited by legal definition.  Under Florida law, what was done was a criminal act.  The answer to your question is yes, she was exploited by moral definition.  Who do you think was looking at the child’s breasts?  Why do you think they were looking?  Why do you think they paid her for a look?

  • it doesn’t matter if she was an exploited minor. she knew what she was doing, why else would there be video cameras around her? come on. she did something stupid and wants to take it back. she shouldn’t have lied about her age. she probably did sign a consent form. companies such as playboy aren’t stupid. they’re going to have all their bases covered, and have a consent form somewhere for her. they know they need to cover their asses for cases such as this.

  • how did she enter the contest anyway? she wasn’t given a consent form, but she still won $100. she still entered the contest. someone would had to have taped her and sold it for it to qualify as “Sexual exploitation”

  • No, she’s the one who entered in the contest… and lied about her age.

God, I hate people who sue for things that are their own fault…

  • no

  • I do believe she is an idiot, but then again she was under the age to give consent and kids don’t always think things through…….I think the promoters have a greater responsibility to verify the age of the participants, and therefore they should be held liable.

  • She was but no one forced her to enter the contest. What was she expecting?

  • No. She’s the one that lied.

And anyway, she exposed herself in front of a bunch of people she didn’t know, but was bothered by the fact that they showed other people? Um? o_o

  • Her age has nothing to do with her exploitation.  She lied to them about her age, but they didn’t tell her they were taping.  Heck, if she was 18, that still would be exploitation.

  • I think its unfortunate that this happened to her, but if she didn’t have a problem doing what she did in front of random people on spring break, I dont see how she has the right to coplain now. Espscially since now we have camera phones and video recorders smaller then my hand, if you do something in public that drawas that kind of attention you cant expect not to get it captured on film

  • RYC: Yeah! Cyndelee is really great! Thanks for having your site, too! Its a great place to jump into the xanga pool!

  • Yes and no.  She lied about her age and was obviously exploiting herself, but I don’t think people are allowed to film without permission, and it sounds like she gave no consent for that (like that run-on sentence?).

  • no. she lied about her age. the people running the contest had no idea that they were “sexually exploiting” a minor. also, she took off her shirt in front of people, and then complains that it makes her look like a prostitute? excuse me? earth to girl: u took off ur clothes in front of people for money. if thats not like being a hooker, then im even more confused than u are.

  • Yes she was exploited…BY HERSELF.

“I think it makes me look like a prostitute or porn movie star, almost like I am trying to show my body to the camera, which I was not.”

She may have not been showing her body off the the camera…but I’m sure the camera was out in the audience and she sure as hell was showing her bod off to them! It is her own fault…she is stupid!

  • Seems like SHE is the exploiter!

  • i dunno man, she was a willing participant, and after all, she did win money.

  • Yup – she exploited herself.  If you lie about being of-age, it’s your fault if you do something a minor shouldn’t do.  Duh.

What do y’all think of Mexico’s decision to legalize drugs?

  • Not that Playboy doesn’t exploit, but if she was entering a contest, showing her body in the hopes of winning $$$, then she was doing as much exploiting as they were. On the other hand, a random act when you’re 16 does not give them permission to use your photo years later, particularly if you did not give your consent for publication.

  • Legally, yes, since she was taped and didn’t sign a consent form. It doesn’t matter that she lied about her age. The taping was without consent, and therefore illegal.

  • it’s definitely her own fault….. if she didn’t want to be ‘exposed’ then she shouldn’t have exposed herself, even if it was what she thought was going to be one person

  • No, she was not exploited. She is old enough to understand what she was doing and old enough to understand that you cant control a crowd of people who may or may not have cameras. As long as no one beat her with chains and forced her into the competetion she hasnt got a leg to stand on. Puhleeese, people lets just take responsibility for our actions.

  • Well, if you’re going to do something trashy like be in a wet t shirt contest, you are asking for it anyway.

  • I believe she was.  Her ID wasn’t checked when she enlisted into the contest….plus she didn’t really think things through on her end.  But, if she was older…there might have been more wisdom in her decision.

  • nope. social workers don’t know shit.
i think she’s a dumbass that was taken advantage of.

  • she consented.

  • Wait, no, she eventually found out she’d been entered in the contest and lied about her age? Then no, I shouldn’t think so.

  • I mean, they shouldn’t have been taping her without her permission or knowledge. If it had been just that, then yes. But she went through with it and lied about her age and stuff. So a little late to go press charges, right?

  • That’s crap. As much as I dislike what playboy does, they did nothing wrong within the law. They aren’t responsible for a lying minor. The only way that would be different is if you have to provide an i.d. to be in the competition. In that case then playboy is in the wrong.

“I took my shirt off in front of hundreds of people, but the movie makes me look like a slut” maybe because that’s what you are.

  • No…Girls are stupid alot of the time…its her own dam fault!

    ~*~Paige~*~A.K.A.Twinkie!!!Boomboxx!!!

  • no…she entered the contest by herself..no one forced her too, she should only be considered exploited if someone forced her to enter the contest..the fact that she lied about her age doesn’t help her case either

  • No, she was just a stupid minor.

Why does there have to be a lawsuit everytime someone makes a mistake and regrets it later.

What happened to live and learn?

  • WTF, she knew what sshe was doing. she entered the contest, liked that she was 18 and exposed her own damn self. she understands WET T-SHIRT CONTEST, right. she had no problem taking the money. And no fcuking way did she not see the cameras that were probably all over the place. Especially, if it was a Playboy sponsored event. This is just a case of a stupid girl, trying to blame someone else for her lackof discretion in the past.

The only thing she might deserve is some royalties. And not a lot. maybe 25 cents per video/dvd sold.

These are the kinds offrivolous law suits that are wasting the courts time and tax payer money. This is so retarded. I made a mistake 3 years ago. I wish I didn’t do it. Who can I blame? Can I get rich? This is what that gril is thinking. Poof, be gone to her and all stupid people like her.

  • She should have kept her shirt on anyway… And she entered anyway…

So maybe she should have thought about all that beforehand.

  • NO!!  She willingly participated knowing that people with cameras exist.  Hello??  The only deception I see is on her part.

  • Hell no. She admitted to lying about her age. She willingly stood there and let someone wet down her shirt. She exploited herself.

  • underage. exploited. and STUPID! she exploited herself when she took her shirt off. no one took it off for her.

  • she exposed herself and got paid for it…it most places that is termed “prostitution” or at least selling herself.

  • no.  just because she was 16 doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a brain and can’t think for herself.

plus, she won 100$.  what more could you want?

  • No, it’s called being a stripper. I don’t care if she was 16, she did it, she chose to do it. If she’s going to have a fit about people seeing it, she shouldn’t have done it in public.

  • Who is guarding the souls of our youth?

  • yes, as is anyone who does it, even if they do sign a form.  but i don’t exactly sympathize with her from a legal point of view…

  • HELL NO… she told them she was 18 she is the 1 to blame for her being seen……. that whore shes  just tryin to get money.

  • Yes, 16 is too young to be doing that.  It’s against the law. Someone’s in trouble.

  • No, she’s a liar at best…

  • Well, if they didn’t know her age, then no. But she should know better than to do something like that. Look at all the college girls in “Girls Gone Wild.” Not exactly something to show off to the grandkids. And imagine if an employer saw them in a video like that… it all leads to nothing but trouble.

  • I wouldn’t say so, she lied to get into the contest to begin with. If she had told them she was 16, she would have been turned away.

You can’t claim that you were exploited when you lie about something, and then people act based upon the false information you provided them.

  • she was sexually exploited i suppose… but not a minor, b/c according to her she was “of age”.

  • She entered the contest of her own free will.

  • yes, because there wasn’t consent, but she lied, so drop the minor thing

  • Yes, and maybe we should sue society at large for it (sarcasm). She’s now one among the millions of people across America who are victims of nothing but their own stupidity. If she sues, that’d be pretty much standard procedure for such people.

Yeah, doing that sort of thing does make you look like a prostitute. Unfortunately for you, it has nothing to do with the camera.

I recently found out from a friend that I’m in a concert video for As Cities Burn. Should the band have notified me? Technically, yes. Should I be aloud to sue them for revealing that I was at their concert? Heck no. Now, use of my beautiful face should get me some royalties (more sarcasm); but that’s a different sort of offense.

  • Exploited. Perhaps not, but the company was still negligent in not verifying her ID and age.

  • That bitch exploited herself.

  • In my opinion this girl sexually exploited the audience for profit. Not the other way around, the audience did not turn a profit. It is legal to tape performances done in public, so I see no wrong doing there… it is not like they entered her bedroom without her consent.

In the big picture, she exposed herself because she had something to gain. That would make her the one doing the exploiting. That one is no innocent… and now is apparently looking for a little extra?

  • There is a recent court case that has been on the news about a minor distributing pornographic pictures of herself for profit. Again, I see this as her exploiting the vulnerabilities of stupid males. The point is, in the court case I am thinking of the minor was charged with distributing child pornography.

Should this gal not be charged with similar behavior? She IS the one who did it for the money, knowing fully well that the body she controlled belonged to a minor. How is it any different?

  • People might say that what she did was ill-advised, but how do you go from that to assuming that she’s forfeited her rights to give consent for a video to be shot and distributed? That’s a pretty big leap. She chose to take part in the contest, as described. She did not consent to be the featured performer in a video. She’s been exploited. This question is really not so much about women and exploitation as about how quick we are to judge. People frown on her being in the contest and so easily assume that from that point on no further wrongs can be done to her. Not true.

  • Yes. Even though she was exposing herself to anyone who was watching anyway, she didn’t know she was being taped…

  • they actually have to sign a consent form for doing that?

if she was 16 at the time, she was

this is just me, but she should have watched what she was doing at the time–especially while she was doing that–there are some real sick people out there always looking for something like that

  • No. Tough titty. She admitted she lied. Are these guys supposed to hook them all up to lie detectors? Grow up and move with your life.

How about simply asking for a photo id with a birthday on it?

  • Yes, because of no consent.

  • Technically, yes.

But she is one heck of a moron. Or at least she was when she was 16.

  • no.  she was 16.  old enough to know better than to be flashing people if she didnt want anyone to see her breasts.  yes, it is wrong to video someone without their permission, but if she lied about her age and showed her chest for a meer 100$ then i’m sure she would lie about giving the company permission.

  • No.  She was a willing participant and a liar.

  • cmon now, she knew what she was doing

  • she admitted she lied so therefore its her own fault sorry…i mean yea they should have made sure she was of age so their fault too but she also as a 16 yearold girl shouldnt have been showing off she stuff in the first place so yea i still say its her fault.

  • So she wasn’t exposing herself to the camera intentionally?  Who was she exposing herself to intentionally?  Where were the parents if she was only 16?  Was she too dumb at 16 to realize what she was doing?

I think that sueing her parents might be in order.  Otherwise, there is really no basis.  She isn’t claiming to have been forced.

    L,r

  • No, she’s not exploited.
Even if she didn’t consent to being taped, she shouldn’t have exposed herself or participated in the contest if she wasn’t comfortable with all the possible ramifications.

  • Ignorance of the law is no excuse for illegal behavior, nevertheless, I think the company could coherently contend that they were acting in good faith.

The woman on the other hand was an idiot for entering the contest and now — especially after getting $100 — looks like a money-grubber, plain and simple.

I think both sides have gotten what they deserve.

  • I find the argument about being taped wthout consent amusing. Anything that happens in public is public domain and therefore free for videotaping. If she were taped in her bedroom, it would be a different story. But in public, she was available for taping.

  • Thats kind of a sticky situation.  I wonder if the promoters will ask for their prize money back…..

  • No no no no no.

    She lied.
She chose to get naked in front of a bunch of people.

    The dumb ho got filmed.
And now she regrets it because she’s 21 and sees how stupid she was.
    Seriously… wtf?

  • No, it is all her responsibility. Part of making a decision is taking responsibility for it, and obviously she lied, so now shes facing the consequences.

    Eva.

  • No…she told the homies that she was 18…she looked 18…they are not required to do a background check.

  • she lied about her age…i think the whole “i didnt sign a consent form” thing was just her way to get out of getting into trouble for it….jmo though

  • I think she should have signed an agreement stating she was of age.

    You reap what you sow.

    (((((( GRANDMA HUGS ))))))

    Lori

  • when she entered the contest, to me that pretty much means you consented to be oggled for all time!

  • The question really is do you think Satan made her do it, or is it just a human being a human?

I think she should sue her parents for not knowing where she was at 16 years of age, and then sue the Catholic Church for not eradicating Satan when they had the chance.  (You know when that was right?  As in when they accumulated all that wealth to fight Satan?)  Just an idea from a lawyer.

  • exploited, no. the girl is full of shit- she most likely knew what she was doing- many people do.

  • no. people don’t suddenly grow brains because they cross a certain age line. they have them before that. she knew what she was doing.

  • Playboy, or whatever group it was, should have required a valid ID for any contestant.  That should have been a given.  And if they were filming you’d think they would have been smart enough to have all of them sign waivers.  I’m sure she’s got a pretty good law suit on her hands.  And she’ll probably win.

However, she’s the one who willingly dumped a pitcher of water down the front of her shirt so random guys could get a better look at her boobage.  If she was sexually exploited it was from her own doing.

  • She didn’t sign a consent form to be taped, so the tape should not have been distributed. She is not upset because she participated in the contest; she is upset because it was taped and distributed without her consent. So, yes.

  • No she willinging showed her body to people. No one made her do it. She exploited herself so she should be allowed to sue anyone

  • she lied and she suffered the consequences…so no.

  • yea she was

  • maybe not a sexually exploited minor since she lied to them (not that she wasn’t, but they couldn’t make a case based on that), but the camera crew still broke the law because they featured someone without their consent

  • first off, she made a stupid decision by lying. So no I do not think she has any right five years later to take them to court. The people who taped her should have informed her… but hey… when you expose yourself in a public contest … wouldn’t you expect the audience to take pictures ( etc.)

yes , she was a minor and yes according to her she has been exploited. Those are the consequences for acting stupid … even at sixteen.

    My next question is…

Where were her parents?! Why would they let her go off on spring break at 16?! Perhaps she lied to them as well.

    hmmmm

  • was her fault she entered it.

  • Women can get away with anything, can’t they.  She was a girl, doing what plenty of other girls would’ve done.  She felt like acting wild and showing off her tits to a bunch of strangers that she would never have to see again and that’s what she did. People do things like that when they’re in a carefree situation that they don’t really consider to be reality.  People don’t want to have to deal with the fact that they make ignorant choices like that.  But when it came to slap her in the face in the situation that she considers reality, via her neighbor, she had to make herself out to be a victim.  She couldn’t simply say, “I was young and stupid.  I was having fun.  If you don’t like it, don’t watch it.”
We should all hope that we can teach our kids to steer clear of these dumb moves.  Or at least teach them to balls up to the situation if someone were to bring up something that embarasses them.
In the end: She got paid $100 for softcore porn.  Some girls don’t get paid for that kind of thing.

  • she shouldn’t have entered the contest

  • She willingly went into the contest and deliberately lied about her age………I don’t think she was exploited……how can you not think that there wouldn’t be cameras or something like that there??? She brought it on herself…….I think she just wants some money.

  • Good grief.  If you do that sort of thing, you should expect someone to be taping.  Actions have consequences; suck it up and move on.  Wet t-shirt contests are exploitive by nature, but she willingly (and deceptively) entered into it.

  • It was a wet T-shirt contest!  It should be common knowledge that there will be cameras around, thats the point of the contest. Plus, she lied about her age, and no one forced her into it, so she has no case. I think if she did take it to court, it would be thrown out.
