  • Unattractive

I was talking to a girl years ago while sitting in the computer lab at school.  She was a pretty young lady.  She was really smart.  She had this way about looking you right in the eyes and drawing you in.  She was in one of my classes and we had talked from time to time.  We were having such a good conversation while she was helping me with my assignment.

One of the ways I would get help back in high school was to pretend to be incompetent in order to get people to do things for me.  I was letting this girl feel like the smartest girl in the school.  I remember thinking to myself, “I wonder why I have never noticed this girl before.”  She was a foreign exchange student.

Then at one moment she lifted up her arm and I could see she had hair on her armpits.  She did not shave them.

What is the biggest turn off to you?

  • Depression Part 6

Do you ever get depressed for no real reason?

  • Xanga Lock

I did it.  I added the new feature that xanga has out.  You can now block everyone out from reading your site who is non-xangan.  So a person has to log in to visit your site.  This is a great protection from people who you don’t want reading your site.

It is said to be better than JavaScript.  Mary from xanga told me that.  Well, really she told everyone that when she posted it on her site.

All you have to do is go to this site to activate it: http://www.xanga.com/private/editaccountprivacy.aspx

What do you think of the new feature?

  • Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell

Gay rights activist were detained and given citations yesterday while protesting.  According to Foxnews.com, they were protesting the military policy of “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

The military has a policy that President Clinton signed that allowed gays to serve in the military.  They were required to “abstain from homosexual activity” and “not disclose their sexual orientation.”

A person could serve in the military.  They just couldn’t openly say they were homosexual.

Should openly gay individuals be allowed to serve in the military?

  • Loneliness Part 2

I was talking to Daniel from Disturbing_The_Universe via IM and he mentioned an idea that he suggested I post about.  He thought that xanga at some level may cause some people to experience loneliness.  A person is sitting on a computer and talking to other people.  I mentioned that it probably depends on the person.  I think some people can feel that they draw most of their friendships online and then would feel very lonely.  But if a person feels that they really don’t have close friendships online and have friendships in other places, they are less likely to feel lonely.

So I want to ask a question that he mentioned.

Does xanga cause loneliness or cure it?

  • Questions

Are there certain questions that are better if they are not asked?

  • Rape Part 3

I was talking to my friend Daniel via IM the other day.  His site is Disturbing_The_Universe.  We were talking about Ann Coulter’s article about rape.  I want to copy the article from Daniel’s site for you right here:

However the Duke lacrosse rape case turns out, one lesson that absolutely will not be learned is this: You can severely reduce your chances of having a false accusation of rape leveled against you if you don’t hire strange women to come to your house and take their clothes off for money.

Also, you can severely reduce your chances of being raped if you do not go to strange men’s houses and take your clothes off for money. (Does anyone else detect a common thread here?)

And if you are a girl in Aruba or New York City, among the best ways to avoid being the victim of a horrible crime is to not get drunk in public or go off in a car with men you just met. While we’re on the subject of things every 5-year-old should know, I also recommend against dousing yourself in gasoline and striking a match.

Everyone makes mistakes, especially young people, but the outpouring of support for the victims and their families is obscuring what ought to be a flashing neon warning for potential future victims.

Is the stripper partially responsible for allowing herself in this situation?

  • Privacy

Do we make too big of a deal about privacy in our country?

  • School Vouchers

In recent years there has been a lot of talk about private school vouchers.  The idea would be that some of the money that is going to public schools would be used for private schools.

Some of the supporters of this position believe that the public school system is failing and this would allow people to take some of their tax dollars and have them used for private schools.  These individuals feel that competition is best for the school system.

Others feel that vouchers will hurt the public school system.  They say that money will be taken out of the public school funds and be sent to the private schools.  They feel this will weaken the public schools.

Is the government the best organization to educate our children?

  • Hitler

I was in sort of a social studies class in 9th grade when we were asked a question.  The question is a common question but I think it is interesting because we are looking at the Holocaust today.  So I want to do this in the form of a hypothetical.

Imagine that you were sent back in time.  You have all the knowledge of what Hitler did in his life.  You know that he would be responsible for the death of millions.  Imagine you are sent back in time and you stand next to the 8 year old Hitler.  You have a gun.

Would you kill the eight year old Hitler?
