1988The year of 1988 is the best year I can remember. I hate to jump and call it my best year but it is the year of when I have all my best memories. I had just received my driver’s license and I had a new car. My mom, who was very sick, started to feel better.
That summer I went on a trip to Florida with my church youth group. We had the best time. I sort of fell in love to the degree that a 16 year old can fall in love (Prepares for flaming by 16 year olds). But it was my first major crush. Spending time with a group of people like that for a summer causes you to get to know everyone at a deeper level. For the next several years, I would consider most of those people my best friends.
What was the best year of your life?

Any of the first 5…. life was so simple then. I’ve had other years where incredible things happened, but a alot of bad stuff happened too, and it was more complicated.
So maybe 1995. That’s one I can really remember.
right now is pretty freakin’ awesome!!
2005….The year I started college
Each year gets substantially better. I’m that much closer to becoming what I want to become.
1985
2003/2004 school year. It was the most emotional, soul searching, best friend making, time of my life, depression, anger, confusion, happiness, laughter. Agh.. it was the worst year of my life and best year all at the same time. It was my first year of Uni.
2001 when i left my ex husband and started realizing what it was i wanted in life….my school years were good ones, no complaints, but they werent anything special and i would never want to be a teenager again
1998 became a Christian and it changed my life. Realised there was so much more to life than surviving. Worked on two missionary ships with international crews. awesome experience.
Right now, dude
I was born in 1988 so that must make it a good year
this year.
different years for different reasons
Either 2004 or 2005… but I’d hate to box myself in, since I’ve only lived 20 years.
RYC: Ha Ha Ha!!! Very funny, Dan!!!
Everyone knows it’s seventeen when people really fall in love, right?
Oh, and this year is the best.
No, just the last six months.
Well…I think…I think it has to be 2002..
So far, 2006
Tough call… I liked the year 2001 because I was making so many friends in college, in a program I loved and going out all the time. I probably also enjoyed 1988 – was still a lil kid then, secure & loved at home … but the *best* year I’m in has to be this one. Finished university, improved my health, in a great relationship… and it’s hopefully going to get even better from here on out.
Our pasts and futures all converge on this moment of being! We only have dim distorted memories of what was – and can only imagine what may be – but the moment to be in is right NOW! It is what is real! I like this moment best!
It was the best of times,
It was the worst of times,
I was 29
So far, this has been an amazing year….I hope the second half is just as amazing as the first!
probably my senior year of high school into the first year of college – 1983. being “in love” and becoming independent from the family for the first time. Great memories!
’84. I was in utero.

1984 graduation year.
2003. year of the end of my soph & beginning of my junior. constant parties lol. met my 1st love that year. my dad was still alive. and there was absolutly nothing i could complain about.
I can’t pick one.. not that any of them have been that great.. I just can’t remember anything that sticks out.
Each year gets better.
Well, it’s DEFINITELY not 2006!! lol I can’t really say that I had one great year. I mean, I graduated in 1987, married in 1988, first child 1989, second child 1995, third child 1999, got saved in 2005…..you know, there’s just many great events.
i would have to say it’s never been better than right now.
& there definitely won’t be any flaming from me.
probably…2005…half the year was great because i was doing meth and that always made me feel wonderful…(at least most of the time). The other half of the year was great because when I got busted my mother took the initiative to tell my probation officer to put me in rehab…and that opened my eyes and got me clean and sober now for the last year and 3 months…I got to experience two totally great feelings in one year…one under the influence, and an even more wonderful feeling when I realized I didnt have to be under the influence.
That year has not come yet.
2003
My son was born in 1988 and although my high school graduation and university graduations were milestones …his birth rocked my world. He’s almost going to be 18 years old in a few days….and he’s off living in the dorms at the local university…..first time away from home…….
1988 for sure!
i can relate to you because i went on a missions trip to indiana in 2004 with my youth group and that trip caused 2 relationships to pop up. One, was me and my friend Sarah, and 2 was my friend Steve and Allison. Both relationships lasted a few months and then we all had a falling out but yes spending a lot of time with a group of people can really bring you close. And all those people that went on the missions trip with me are still my closest friends, and im still really good friends with sarah. haha thats enough of my personal life.
and to the real question, the best year of my life will be when i move out. i cant stand living at home…
we were all about 16 too.
I think it was 2004, the year that I graduated high school. I had a lot of fun that summer.
1988 was when i was born so it had to be a great year for me
My best year was probably 2000.
um. . . . maybe i’m still waiting for it?
it’s actually 2 years… 1993 through 1994.
My brother was born in 1988, so I guess that was a good year for me. I don’t think I have a favorite year though, because every year has had its ups and downs. I guess the important thing is to make every Now count, because really that is all there is.
hopefully it hasn’t happened yet. =P
1982… graduated high school, met my hubby, left home and moved to Pittsburgh… so much good that year. The best part was finding the man that I would spend the rest of my life with.
definitely not this year…probably 2004.
2004
The only non-highlight was breaking both of my wrists. But it could have been worse.
So far 2006!
Besides being a young child, I think my best years are ahead of me still..
Pretty Good Year was a nostalgic look into my father’s private thoughts he shared with me before he passed away.
I either have to pick my childhood up until age 7 when I was innocent and naive about the world and nothing terrible had happened, or this past school year (05-06) for various reasons.
i’d have to say this year is so far. pretty much for all the same reasons as you. except i didn’t go to florida, i went to georgia
this year, i’d have to say. everything is coming together in a way.
but hey, i haven’t lived many years to compare it to.
You know, research suggests that teens from the ages of 14-16 fall in love the hardest. Research on teenage relationships in interesting. However, I do not think that as adults we should doubt the feelings of teenagers just because they haven’t experienced everything that we have in terms of love. They still fall in love and experience those great and horrible feelings that accompany it.
To answer your question…I think the summer of 1997 was my best year. I had just finished my freshman year in high school and had a relatively stress free life. I also felt at that time that I was in love. Songs from that year bring back the most amazing feelings when I hear them. It’s a wave of happiness.
I’m not really old enough to say.
1983 Senior year in highschool. Still no responsibilities, other than grades, lots of parties, no worries, all fun!
1994
2005-2006
Don’t worry Dan, I won’t flame you *pats*.
But best year so far would have to be 2005.
1988 wasn’t too bad, I was 17, a junior in high school.
But I would have to say 1985 was probably my most memorable year when I was 14-15 years old. Just beginning to have an interest in boys, having the summer off from school, my friends & I ran around the neighborhood wreaking havoc. Naww, not really, we were still fairly innocent then. I am amazed at what 14 & 15 year olds are into nowadays. I sure wasn’t thinking about sex at age 14. There was a boy in my neighborhood that was 16 that I had a crush on as I was 14, we were friends, kissed once or twice & that’s it. We had a group of us that hung around that summer of 1985. It was great, having the freedom while the parents were at work during the day & yet being trusted enough that we didn’t have parental supervision & didn’t get into trouble. Ok, except for the scooter incident, lol.
My friend who was 15 decided to pull her older brother’s red motor scooter out of the garage for us to ride around the neighborhood streets on. We were off the main road down in a housing plan. We would ride up & down the streets, then up into the cemetary that abutts our housing plan. Well, apparently a neighbor somewhere called the police to indicated that two girls were riding around the neighborhood & up in the cemetary on a scooter. So, oblivious to this fact, we are in the cemetary riding around. All of a sudden here comes a cop car in front of us & one behind us. We were so screwed. Being 15 and 14 of course we weren’t suppose to be driving, lol. They made us walk the scooter back to her house. The next day her dad gets a call from the mayor’s office because they were friends. She got grounded, ugh, big mess.
But that was the extent of our juvenille delinquency, no drugs, no vandalism, no sex.
It hasn’t happened yet.
this is gonna make you feel old, but i’d say 1988 is a good year b/c that was the year i was born… lol. =)
well i can’t be sure im only 15 soo there are many more to come but id say this year
2002 or 2006 thus far
So far? When I was 16 and a half to 17 and a half.
This year, right now.
Summer of 2005, but this year has the potential to beat it.
I don’t know what my best year was, but, referencing the 16 year old comment, I’m 16 and I actually agree with you. I don’t think that at 16, someone can be truly in love, I mean, maybe to a certain degree, but, I think it’s stupid when kids my age say they’re in love, because, quite frankly, they’re not.
1999. Looking at my last year of HS.. spending all summer in the car with the windows down and my friends hanging out of ‘em.. and looking foward to all the millenium New yer’s Eve parties.
mmmm probably 2004. 2006 has kicked major ass, though.
summer 05 was probably the best. nothing can replace it.
Hmmm, probably 2004. My parents weren’t depressed, I just started colorguard with an amazing group of band/auxiliary friends. I was involved in awesome plays. Had all great teachers. It was fun. Hopefully this year being my senior year will be a better year.
well maybe 1995. I was five, just started school and loved it.
Or this year, 2006 because this is the year I’m 16, I started college this year, made tons of new friends.
the best year of my life is yet to come.
I’d say different years for different reasons. 2001 was the worst year ever and one I would not want to re-live for anything. I got divorced, 2 of my grandparents died, I went through 2 major moves, and 9/11 happened. But the good parts were really, really good. I met my now husband, we moved together and got to see a lot of the country together, and I experienced freedom that I didn’t even know was possible. 2004 was great because our son was born but financially it was horrible. The first year of our marriage was wonderful for the most part, but my husband lost his job. Every year is both good and bad.
1985 was pretty great.
Wow…I love happydeviant`s answer.
I haven’t really had one. They’ve all been varying degrees of crappy so far.
But I guess the least crappy was 1993.
Wah, I didn’t know you knew a word like flaming. =P Since I’m only 14, I guess this would be one of my best years.
I had some fun years like that in highschool too, but I always say that my fondest memories are from the first year of my first kid’s life. Things had a very relaxed pace. . .just me and her and Papa Bear. I love our family circus now, but sometimes I wish I could have that calm, quiet year with each of my kiddos [alone].
This year so far.
i would have to say right now is the best tinme of my life. I am a senior in high school and all my teachers are laid back. In the Golden Regiment, we are going to some of the biggest comps we can go to the US for a high school band. I also am getting close to a girl. everyhting is turning out great right now.
Right now, it’s pretty good so far. Summer through the end of 2005 was very good too.
Hum, I’m not going to flame you annnndd….2003.
I haven’t had one yet and the future doesn’t look too good either.
either 2001 or 2003
I was in the Youth conservation Corp. in 1980 and that was th best summer I ever had.I think everyday is the best time of my life.
2005 – I finished high school, started college, made tons of friends, and had a great year.
Maybe this year, but I hope it gets better.
Actually, 1st or 2nd year might’ve been a bit cushier.
lol i was born in 1988 so that deff was a good year! i guess i am still waiting for my best year…
2003 was definately the best year of my life. I was 12 and innocent and had no worries. That summer was the best, my friends weren’t fighting, the boy I love didn’t hate me. It was good.
1988 (graduated from high school) and
1992..grew so much with Jesus and
1995…I got married and
2000 my fist child was born and
2002…my second child was born.
Oh……..only one?? I never was good at obeying directions.
2006 baby…
All of them.
my first year of college-last year.
hopefully i haven’t had mine yet, considering i am only 15.
Next year, because I’ll make it more than last.
this year is the best yet
2003, hands down.
mid 80s, cant really pick one particular year from there, but basically when hairbands were out!!
2005 probably. And 2006.
its the year i was born, so its pretty high up there
oh, i read the question wrong…
2002… the year my life started to change… the year ppl began to start seeing me as a person, and not as a freak… they year i fell in love with God and gave Him my life… the year i started feeling like i was worth the air i was breathing…
’88 was pretty good for me, too. S’when I was born.
can’t pick just one…1985 when I got married, then 1987 when my first daughter was born, then 1989 when my son was born, then 1990 when my youngest daughter was born…well you get the idea
last year…and this year…
you’re younger than I thought…
hrm, this year probably.
or 2004
2004-2005.
My middle school years were the best.

2003-2005* my bad. typo.
2004. i’m only 14 so i dont have a lot of years to choose from.
For now, I think 2003. Or something.
I would ahve to say this year. I’ve been working like a dog, but hey, I’ve still found plenty of time for fun.
1992. Graduated HS and got the hell out of Dodge…haven’t gone back yet to visit…
2004
my favorite year was my first year in college, for a long time. but i would have to say that this year as of this past month is the best year of my life. its not because i have arrived anywhere special. i have not made any new moves in my career, i didnt get rich, and i am not in love…but this is the year that i finally had my Faith in J.C. confirmed. it is the year that i finally understood my past, and discovered a new hope for my future.
88 was good, dan. I came out of it.
so far, i’d have to say this last year. i’ve learned so much and fallen in love and grown up.
1997, the year I became a mother for the first time. The best, and I mean VERY best year of my life.
~Namaste~

CrimsonWings ( A Goddess in the making!)…A continuous work in progress!
There have been a lot of good years, but the year you describe for yourself…for me, that was 1981.
Hey, I was born in 1988!!!! ^___^
I don’t know what my favorite year was though…..
It would have to be 1998, the year i met my bf and the year i passed my driving test first time!
2004. I was in 8th grade, and it was before I had gotten depressed. I had a lot of friends, and I felt that time couldn’t end.
The year I went to preschool?
2002…when I became a Christian. He changed my life forever.
Summer, 1994. Taipei.
the very beinning of 20005
well i really hope it hasn’t come around yet, otherwise my life would be crap!
1986…the year my first son was born….it was so wonderful being a new mom with one baby to dote on, enjoying that with my husband, who loved being a new daddy; my parents came and helped, and I remember having such a wonderful time with them there….it was about eight months before my mom got cancer and my world began crashing down. It’s been downhill from there, with the exception of the births and joy of my other two children.
When I was 13. I had no cares in the world, a lot of really cute boyfriends, and had a party every night that summer. I remember dancing with a boyfriend on top of a mesa in New mexico with the moon above us. To this day, that’s still one of my favorite memories.
1988 was one of the best years of my life….my son was born in 1988…..August 1988…….’Til The Next
2005/2006. It’s just getting better and better each year. Then again, I’m still pretty darn young.
1985
My only child–a daughter–was born that year after years of infertility treatments.
It’s hard to say. Almost every year is very different from the one before, so far. I trade in good things about me for other good things. I haven’t had any really bad years, so far, and all of my 13 years have been equally great in different ways.
I just take one day at a time, and try to be present in the now, that’s all I can do.
This year most definately! Actually it’s more like from last September to this one (so far), but really 06!
2005. graduated from hs, went to calvin, met my boyfriend/future husband…life is good

Well, I’m only fifteen.
Hopefully, I have more years. But so far, this one has been the best.
This year, 2006!
Side note: I was born in 1988.
incidently, i’m 16. i haven’t lived long enough to have had a best year.
I really can’t say. I’m only 17 so I can’t really see the full picture of my life yet. Right now is really hard because I know what I want to do but I’m unsure of how to get there and which road is the best one to take. Every mistake is a lesson learned and right now I’m learning a lot of lessons. It’s hard but in the long run, I’m sure everything will turn out the for the best. So far, in my 17 years, every bad thing has turned into a good thing… but sometimes it hurts.
Okay, so enough of my babbling. I guess I haven’t had a “best year” yet because every year has had it’s ups and downs but every year puts another puzzle piece into my life and I have to say that so far my life is bossoming into a beautiful story. So maybe every year has been the “best year”. Even the bad ones.
1988 was the year I was born.
I think this year has been the best year so far, quite honestly. Or maybe I’m not digging into my past enough.
this year….i’m a freshman in HS an lovin’ it!
It’s easier to name the two worst years of my life, 1974 when Depression hit and took a chunk out of me, and 2004 when I had to move to Dallas, give up being Department head and Gifted and Talented Coordinater for the Middle School I taught at, and then lost my job and labeled incompetent in the fall of that year. After 24 years as an English teacher, I suddenly find myself unemployed and unemployable. Six years to go to reach retirement. Bummer! But the year I was twelve I got my first kiss, won my first fist-fight, and watched Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon! So, I haven’t had a really good year since 1969!
I don’t know if I have a favorite year. I had a lot of fun playing random games when I was younger and I miss my imagination but I love the age I am right now.
I agree with the 16 year old falling in love. I think you can fall in love at 16 but probably not to the degree that you can when your older, at 16 your not really ready to committ.
God bless,
Joanna
this 2005 to the present. this past year has been a time of coming out of darkness into light.
this year thus far. mmm hmm.
I’m waiting for any year to not have something scarring happen ^_^
so far… this one.
best year of my life.i dont really know.still got a lot to live. but yeah when i was young and didnt know anything?
this year isnt too bad though…but maybe 2003 or 2004..so far.
It has been good…but I have bad memory…I don’t know exactly how well m other years went. In fact, I have never given it much though. I don’t really care how good my year/month/day is. I just live it how it is.
Word, bro.
i’m still waiting for mine
prob this year
2003, that’s the year I joined drum corps!
