The Child Molester Look
Have you noticed how many people say that John Mark Karr, the guy who confessed to JonBenet Ramsey’s killing, looks like a child molester? You hear this even on the news. I got a few of those comments in my last post. People think he looks creepy.
Another issue that is being thrown out in the news is the thought that he may have wanted a sex change. I think the media is throwing that issue out for a reason. They know what people think.
Is there a relationship between a person wanting a sex change and the potential for them being a child molester?

No – of course not! People fear anything that they don’t understand.
I worked with a guy that later (after neither one of us had not worked at that restaurant for some time) killed a young girl. Afterwards, everyone that knew I knew him said “He looked like a child molester”. I’m sorry, but he didn’t. He made me feel a little uncomfortable when I worked with him because he was just odd about stuff, and really clingy, but we didn’t look at him and go “oMgZ! He’s a child molester fo’ sho’!”

There are many reasons that a person could be one… and many hints as too that they are…
But I have found that the people I have been around and that have done that just make you feel… creepy being around them…
I don’t believe so. I agree with eeyore, people don’t understand the mentality of someone wanting a sex change, therefore they assign the mentality of “child molester” to it. It’s not right. Now all those who want a sex change will be judged even worse then they already are.
If he did indeed do it, he’s a child molester and murderer. Anything else he might have been is a distant second in importance.
Besides, those who desire a sex change operation are no more criminal by nature than those who don’t.

I dont think so, and the old proverb “dont judge a book by its cover” is quite true, just as a book can have a sweet cover and be awful, a person can look like a lowlife or weirdo and be a very nice person, although I dont believe that is the case here.

We should ask ourselves, not answering the question posed, if the alleged murderer would look like a child molester if he had not stated he killed Jon-Benet Ramsey.
No, but that whole Silence of The Lambs theory of would-be-transexuals who were denied surgery (at a doctor’s descretion) because of a history of emotional abuse, behavioral, and/or emotional problems sure fits the profile of a pathological criminal/murderer. Why do they want to change their physiology and is it a peaceful desire, trying to fill a need, or is it a violent and angry longing to change themselves . . . Just stuff it makes you think about. I do think the media likes to play on peoples biases tho . . .
Well, statistically speaking, people who are sexually confused are more likely to have innappropriate sexual encounters.
I could care less if he had a sex change or wanted a sex change or looks like a pervert or what. He confessed to a crime he may not have committed, which is just insane in my mind. And, he was wanted for charges relating to child pornography anyway, which is just sick in my mind.

I don’t think that wanting a sex change and being a molester go hand in hand. Oh, and my comment on his look (on your last post) came from past experience and not just a comment out of my anal cavity.
HAH! I knew this guy (and his whole family — ten brothers and sisters) that seemed really sweet. My best friend dated him and we were all friends and hung out with each other for over ten years. My kids and I have stayed at his dad’s farm and his nieces and nephews grew up around him… nothing. He met this girl and moved in with her and they had a baby.
One day when that little girl was about seven, the mother took her to the ER. She said she hurt herself falling in the tub but it turned out that her father, my friend, sodomized her. The whole community was shocked; he was the last guy any of us would have suspected. He got fifty years.
You can’t tell if someone is a child molester just by looking at them. But this guy certainly does look crazy in my opinion. So I guess this can be an exception. But I don’t think he killed JonBenet. The facts simply do not add up. This guy is just scizophrenic, and wanted the publicity and attention. And he got it. No matter what he is in deep shit!

someone can look creepy that does not make them a child molestor. A child molestor looks like the guy or girl next door…it could be anyone. Thousands of children each year are preyed upon by these guy/girl next door looking people. Everyone is usually shocked, oh he/she is so quiet, they are so good with kids, they are such an upstanding citizen, involved in their church etc. It’s no wonder children don’t come forward. They are scared that they won’t be believed by other adults.
Their is no study or correlation that I have found that wanting to get a sex change has anything to do with paraphilic tendencies. So I say no to that.

Maybe this guys has multiple issues, but I’ve known far too many people that want or have had sex changes to say that the two are related. Not a chance. They need to keep that sorry sack in maximum security even after it’s discovered that he’s lying and this – as with his claims of wanting a sex change, most probably - are just for attention. Other wise he’s going to have a lot of angry, truly transgendered people ready and waiting for him on the outside. It isn’t fair for this creep to pull this crap and cast a negative image of the transgendered community to those who don’t know any better. Hell, even I want a shot at him right now. At least one good slap across the face and the chance to call him an asshole…even if it more attention than he deserves.

I don’t think there’s any relationship, really. I’ve seen a few programs about transgendered people, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard of one who was a child molester as well.
Though I do wonder if this guy would still have those child-molesting tendencies after the “operation”…
Yes it means they obviously think beyond the guidelines of “normal” (yeah I know, normal is hard to define) sexual behavior, and there’s a higher risk (even if it’s a fraction of a percentage) that they will want to practice other abnormal behaviors. Someone wanting a sex xhange is hardly common, and give up the politically correct act, us common sense, it’s just unnatural and the person has to be a little weird in the head.

I don’t think there is a correlation between the two. People probably never even thought he “looked like a child molester” until after the fact. That’s poor evidence to base fact on.

I guess it is just a strange coincidence that 30% of child molestations are homosexual. With 4 percent of the population being homosexual that makes them 750% more likely to be child molesters or they are just much more aggressive about it. One or the other, any other point of view is simply the lie you want to believe. Pedophilia is a sexual attraction, not the same thing as rape, but while sometimes it involves rape it usually it doesn’t. Persuasion and manipulation is more the norm.

Oh Jesus… that’s like making the assumption that someone who is gay likes to molest little boys. I seriusly doubt there is any sort of connection between someone feeling they were born the wrong sex, and wanting to molest children.
overall, I think he suffers more from a mental disorder than from anything else but the nature of the criminal case has painted a child molestor ‘lens’ on him thus creating a creepy effect. Hate the sin not the sinner.
