  • Are men to logical to be President?

  • Ha, no.

  • Rather too…

  • Nope.  Christine Todd Whitman would have my vote.

  • Hillary would not.

  • men are too pigheaded and that hasn’t stopped them for a couple hundred years

  • I know a ton of guys who are more emotional than me

  • Some of us, yes. And all of us have our moments…

  • It def. depends on the woman
Chances are if they are too much of a negative stereotype of a woman (listing interests such as: Lip Gloss, Eyeliner, BOyzz1!1, Hollister etc. etc. as their main interests) then they probably won’t be in a position to run for president

  • *too emotional – typo!

I don’t think having emotions has much to do with being president.  If you can control them and do your job, that’s the important thing.

  • NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was going the exact same place ehowton was. I think you mean too emotional. And yes it definitely depends on the woman.

  • Uh, men are just as emotional as women most of the time. They just have this enormous pressure from society to hold those feelings back, because supposedly in order to be a “real man” you have to be strong and unfeeling. And why would having normal human emotions make you a bad president?

  • Some would be. But there are some badasses out there.

  • Why would being emotional have any affect with being president? and why would any one care? GOSH! take a look at all the other countries that have women presidents! do u see a problem? NO!!!!!

  • …this is going to bring up tons of angry feminist comments.

  • Hey Danny,

The white house need some emotion……

    Candy

  • to be president all u have to do is be a good politician and actualy want to be a president, nothing about emotions

that and I’m with who ever said that men are equally emotional…or at least I know some men who are MORE emotional…

  • that’s sexism right there.

  • a broad, redicuolous generalization

  • I believe you meant “too emotional”. Some women are, and others aren’t. It just depends on the woman.

  • No. But I doubt it makes any difference anyway.

  • only most women..but their a a good few tht dont give a fuck and will kick ur ass!!and im not one of them lol:)

  • I don’t think so. 45 is the youngest you can be to be president (if I remember right). So no PMS problems. But menopause…get her on a bad day…

    woo.

    Thermo-Nuclear warfare…

  • No.

And besides, I think it would be nice to see a president with some more emotion.

Someone a little more sensitive would be nice…I think there would be alot less wars if the leaders of the world were more emotional and sensitive.

  • I am a girl, and I think most are too emotional… at least in the high 90′s percentile.
Come on girls, we are naturally more emotianal than men, it’s a simple hormonial thing.
That’s how it is, get over… it overly crazed feminists.

  • and stop stereotyping. I know guys who are alot more emotional than some girls I know.

  • Duck and cover, Dan. Angry feminists.

Although I agree with them on some things, like, that men can be just as emotional.

  • Yeah, of course they are! That is why men would be so much better at being president. They never get emotional and do hasty things, ever. This president, for example is TOTALLY unemotional.

    HA

  • Of course.  That Middle East crisis isn’t going to fix itself with a long bath and a pint of Ben and Jerry’s.

  • Only when they have PMS,thats only a few days each month.

  • Some women are too emotional as are some men.

I’m not going to look at a woman running for president and sterotype her. I want to know the issues, actions, grounds, intentions etc.

  • no you can’t generalize all women
there are men who are more emotional and its the same with women
and there are definatly strong women who can hold up a country and i feel bush isn’t doing well at it and there are WAY more women who can do a better job and then we can actually get somewhere with the war we’re in

  • No,there are some women yeah but a women can def. become a pesident and plus we don’t get mad and all ready for war like men do^

  • Depends on the woman and if she’s hit the menopause yrs or not! – Hormones can make you do crazy things, just look at Mrs Yates!

  • NO!  I mean….YES….no I said No…there is no way that we are too emotional…oh wait, I guess we can be at times, but that is just rediculous to think that…..because we aren’t, or wait I mean we are but we’re not……OhhhhhhhhhHHHhhHHHHhhHH…..I dunno *SNIFF…SNIFF*  Why do you ask such questions????  It just confuses me and then I end up spending the rest of the evening wondering what the hell I did wrong, to not be able to answer you…..WHAAAAAAAWHAAAAAAAA!!!!!  <3Rachel

  • no. not in general. the people who usually want to be president aren’t really emotional, either.

  • no, whats up w that sexist question c’mon, thats stereotypical, not every girl is emotional…

  • Depends on the woman…

  • No. And not all women are “emotional” in the sense you probably mean. Besides, some emotion is a good thing. The world needs some leaders with empathy and compassion.

  • Speaking as a girl I must say I agree with by Lunamis

  • Saying that all women are too emotional to be President is like saying all women have black hair. It’s completely illogical. All women are different.

  • All I know is that we’d start a war about every twenty eight days or so…

  • Although I do concede, most women are more emotional than most men. O_o

  • And you only have to be 35 silent mercenary, not 45.

  • women are just too emotional period

  • I think that emotions wouldn’t be a problem but sensitivity might be an issue.

  • What the [PMS-laden foul-language]  kind of question is that?  Who the [more PMS-laden foul-language] do you think you are to even [still more PMS-laden foul-language] suggest it?

But… on a serious note … I don’t think women are any less capable of being President than men are.

  • and i think there woulkd be more wars… they would occur on about a
    28 day cycle

  • No…

  • some women… but the same thing can be said about some men

  • Not all of them.  Possibly not even the majority.

  • no…I’d rather have an emotional president than a callous one.

  • Yes… but that depends of her PMS condition… if it’s too bitchy, the country is doomed!

  • I don’t believe so, but as casvelyn said, it really depends on the woman. There are men who are too emotional to be President, too.

    -Guru on the Hill

  • omg, dan…i can’t believe you said that. that question makes me wanna cry! LMAO!!! JP

  • Not all women.

  • you know, i almost reacted really emotionally against this question, then decided against it. heh.

  • some yes, all no, it depends on the woman and how they react to given circumstances. it seems to me that women care about what others thinki and how other people veiw them more than men do. so if a woman was president and had low approval ratings she might handle it differently than a man.

  • depends on the woman.

I now guys who are WAAAAAY more emotional than me.

    xX-Nicole-Xx

  • especially Hilary Clinton

  • And male presidents can’t be emotional?

Women can be logical, emotional, etc. It all depends on the person.

  • no but they still shouldn’t be president

  • some women may be too emotional to be the president, but then again so are some men.

  • What type of a question is this? I’m not being emotional about this question, I just don’t think it’s an issue anymore. There were women leading men during times of total male chauvinism. Would French history ever be the same if Joan of Arc decided to quit the military because of relationship issues? No. She stayed to lead the men.

  • You can’t ask this question, ’cause any guy who says yes appears as a sexist, and women are of course going to say no out of defense…

The only way you can get a real awnser is to find a person of no gender, so it’s impossible.

  • No!  I think a woman would do a great job. Hillary, Conoleeza or ?

  • Depends on the woman…and better someone with emotion(which includes COMPASSION) then some heartless asshole sitting in the whitehouse

  • The president of the US probably spends more time negotiating new policies and speaking to world leaders than worrying about which sex they are. The office of the president should’ve been uni-sex, because the job of being President is to incorporate the office and title, essentially not being a individual but rathe being the office itself.

    ’nuff said….

  • Not in the least bit.  Anyone who thinks that is a sexist pig.

  • not one made out of stone.

  • Some, absolutely, same as some men are to egotistical.

  • Yeah sure they are and once a month it gets even worse

That will make me real unpopular

    Actually I was just kidding

  • Dan, most women are pretty emotional..As one myself, I’d be the first to admit it.. However, doesn’t asking that question fall  into the same catagory as “Are men too stubborn to be president?”…….hmmmm?

Each sex has its pros and cons…but a president should be chosen based on who they are as an individual and a leader.

  • that statement just totally made me upset
    i’m having an emotional breakdown
    ;)

  • the president could be gay…does that make him too emotional to be president?

  • Personally i dont think emotions is the problem. many countries aren’t advanced as we are. They dont respect women. If we had a Woman, say President, then some countries may lose some respect for us. As for other things well we have girls that are them right now.

  • I don’t know.  Are men too macho to be president?  Or maybe they’d just spend all their time watching football and other sports.  Stereotypes are stereotypes, and each gender has its strengths.  Women multitask better than men do.  And at times women may be more emotional than men.  Which may not be a bad thing when it comes to ruling a country.  It certainly isn’t an excuse to keep them from being president.

  • Nah.  That’s just a stereotype.  Some women are too emotional, but so are some guys.

Of course, the last thing we need is a president bursting into tears and saying “If you don’t know why I’m crying, I’m not going to tell you.”   j/k

I might vote for Condi Rice if she ran.

  • Oh yeah, gawd they start pms’ing and watch out…………..

  • That’s pretty freakin’ sexist right there. Anything to back up one of the most repeated and silliest reasons to be against a President?

  • haha, imagine, “on tonight’s top story. mrs. president cancels press confrence because of cramps.”

not really. if they are they probably shouldn’t be in the posistion anyways.

  • Other countries and people have had female rulers before just fine.

  • Men have too much testosterone to be President.   Look at the messes they get us into.

  • what?!?  too emotional?  :::tears:::  seriously?!?  :::frustration:::  NO!!!!!   ::::catching breath:::

  • maybe, maybe not.

  • As I’ve said before, women belong in the kitchen.

  • No, especially older women……..50 plus. There might be fewer wars if all the heads of state were women. It will never happen though.

  • This is what the Constitution says….

The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice-President chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows…

    notice the he..

it doesnt say she..it says he…therefore…the president has to be a male…

and yes i dont think women should rule the country. and i am a woman.

  • Would we consider Condoleezza Rice incapable of being Secretary of State because she is a woman?  Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of England?

    Women Heads of State:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_women_heads_of_state

    Women Presidents   http://terra.es/personal2/monolith/00women2.htm

Rulers and Heads of State:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_famous_women_in_history#Rulers.2C_consorts.2C_heads_of_state

  • aren’t men to macho to be president?

  • that’s why I said no in the last post.

  • anyone can be emotional… but I think anyone has a chance to run our country no matter their sex… I mean, if they have the same credentials… I think it’s fine

  • Well, men are too moronic, aren’t they? Or is that just a stereotype?

    Certain, stereotypical women, yes.

  • PMS/menopause, and the thought of the phrase “the President and the First Gentleman (instead of lady)” are reasons why I will never vote for a woman to be president, even if it was Condi or another Republican lady

  • /indignant
I am *so* offended you would say that.
    lol

  • no…well, theres the once-a-month thing…but men are emotional too…
    Kelly

  • no.
    are men too emotional?

  • Yeah, I think so.

  • There are plenty of unemotional women, as there are emotional men. I’m sure we’ve had emotional presidents in the past.

  • Hell no we need a woman president!

  • thats some pretty heavy anorexism right there.
I’d say thats a pretty durable pickup

  • Sure…i guess

  • Nope. If anything, a little more emotion would be better for this country.

  • once every month there’s gonna be a nuclear attack.

  • – I’m very amused by morgan_z’s literal interpretation of the word “he”. *shakes head*

  • In general? Yes. We are more emotional that men. However, this doesn’t always apply to the individual, it just means 9 times out of 10, it will be true.

  • hell no…thats stereo-typical (sp?)

  • Men are too violent to be president.  I think America needs a woman in charge in order to fix up this war mess Bush created.

  • I get it!!!, “once a month, nuclear attack”! ha ha ha! thats funny!

  • i am waaaaaaaaaaaayy too bored to be commenting on other people’s comments

  • Men are just as emotional. They just keep it inside, and when it gets to be too much, they blow up other countries. I think we should give a woman president a try. Or, the next president should have an awesome wife. Really strong presidents have also had really strong wives, like Jackie O

  • are men too asinine? What a question.

  • Why would you say that? *sob*

  • No, and what a sexist question!

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OCJEh9iGwY   Hahahahahaha…..something to think about in reference to this question

  • No, it’s called Margaret Thatcher.

  • im sorry and even though im a girl I have to say YES!!!!

  • Most definitely… and I don’t even care if I’m a girl, I’ll say it. Girls are over emotional…. we can’t help it. It’s part of who we are.

My best friend moved 30 minutes away to college and I still get to see him on weekends… but I fell apart. Now you tell me women aren’t overly emotional.

  • ….No. We aren’t. However, I still wouldn’t vote for Hilary.

    Eva.

  • it’s possible that some are. some men are too so that’s not really a matter

  • No, I’m more emotional than a woman, and I can be president.

  • For the most part, yes.

  • No way. Exceptions, exceptions. Condi Rice is Sec of State, but she still gets battered by the press.

  • I hate to say it, but I wouldn’t trust a woman running our country.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You want to know who really shouldn’t be President? Someone to make horrible racist generalizations like that on no ground what-so-ever.

  • Generally. Women would prefer to all have a big lunchen with the other world leaders, at which they would have salads – dressing on the side – and talk out all their problems. Crying would ensue. Men just kill. Which is better is up to you.

  • No.
I only really commented to looks for male chauvinist bigots who said yes.

  • Don’t ask this question to Margaret Thatcher, Golda Meir, Benazhir Bhutto, etc. or they will come all the way to where you live to beat your computer to death with their purses. >:D

Of course women are not too emotional to become president, it’s just that men (and some women) are often too sexist to allow them the job!!!

  • Depends on the woman, I guess. But I wouldn’t say all women are too emotional for the job.
    -Kristin

  • What! Emotional! You think you guys aren’t emotional! What do you think you guys are, made of steel! Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! Emotional! You wanna see emotional, buddy, take a look in the mirror!

    Emotional indeed!!!!!~!

    How’s that for emotional ;)

    hahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Depends whose the lady is.

  • There are very few women I would trust as President.  Can you imagine a female president in full blown PMS with her finger on the button.   Women are emotional; unless you are talking about Hillary Clinton who has a pump for a heart and ice water in her veins instead of blood.  Normal women are too emotional though.  Like it or not!  Unfortunately though men are becoming way too emotional also.  I hate to see a grown man cry!

Condi Rice I would vote for president.  She is the only female I would vote for because she is intellgent and she is not emotional.  I would love to have a Margaret Thatcher type in the United States government however.

  • the only women in would trust in power are those who have experienced menopause. post hot flashes.

  • UGH, DAN!! A slap on the wrist for you. Once again, someone has sterotyped and generalized and grouped together women. NOT ALL WOMEN ARE THE SAME. I mean, of course, women are more “emotional”. More or less, they express their feelings more verbally than some or most* men. But I wouldn’t vote for a seemingly “unstabley” emotional female to become our president. I’d want a strong, couragious, smart woman to lead our country.

    *Am I being a hypocryte?

  • It really depends on the person, and other than the fact that we’ve never had a female president before, I don’t think gender should be a factor on whether or not someone’s going to be a good president.

  • I was listening to a radio show called “Ace and TJ in the Mornings” about a year ago, and they opened the phone lines up to this same dabate.  One woman called in and said that women can’t be President, and another called in to very unpolitely tell the woman #1 that she is a traitor to the cause of all women.  Well what were they to do but put them on air TOGETHER and let them talk it out like the diplomats they were arguing about?  These two women ended up screaming at each other, yelling their views, and they ended up hanging up on each other at almost exactly the same time, leaving the DeeJays wandering what exactly went on.

The next caller was a man.  “These two women have just proved every man’s point.  If you are on the phone with someone who has a nuke ready to detonate on American soil, or ready to invade the U.S., and you scream and hang up on them….you might not be a good President!”

  • I don’t see how this is relevant to being president…

  • I think that the only problem with a woman being president would be her inability to cooperate with countries whose cultures discourage women from taking on leading positions…but then again, isn’t Chile currently under the leadership of a woman?

  • No!  Look at our standing in the world community right now because of male presidents!

  • most women are too smart to be politians. they know that however much they try,  nobody is ever going to listen to them or their male collegues, so why bother? (I have a very negative view concerning politics…in case you hadnt noticed)

but as for emotions, it depends on how they handle them. I mean, women would probably stop to think about how many families (american and iraqi)are in agony because somebody got blown up in this stupid war. That would influence them to really think of the best way to sort the iraqi war out. And then they would think about money. unlike some politians currently ruining the world……

  • Not only do other countries have women presidents, but for how many years have their been queens that ruled countries?  how many older men have we had for presidents with their quiet wives smiling in the background?  do people honestly believe they did everything by themselves?  When did President Reagan develop alzheimer’s?  the truth is that women have been smart enough to stay in the shadows until they (we) thought our country could accept a woman President.

The strange thing to me is that it is even a question.  i mean, men have mothers, wives, daughters, aunts, cousins, grand-mothers and grand-daughters, friends, co-workers, superiors in their lives.  all women.  and this one job is a stumbling block for our country?  why?

  • no

  • Yeah, that’s just a little bit sexist.
Aggression in men is more of a primal instinct that emotion in women. I say women are more fit to be president than men.

  • Maybe it’s more than that. I might be bias, but I wouldn’t support a woman president because I believe men were created to be the leader. Women may step up in leadership roles, but being the most powerful in the nation should be the work of a man.

  • both men and women are emotional, they just need to be able to control their emotions.

  • I liked when Saturday Night live did a parody of a woman president. She started pmsing and nuked switzerland. Most women can easily go off if you press the wrong buttons. Some women would do a good job though, like Condaleza.

  • Depends on the woman duh.

  • dude, yes. Seriously, if 9/11 happened during a female President’s period…there would be nukes involved

  • Women are a bunch of haters.  That’s the only reason why they don’t rule the world, especially because they hate each other.

  • Not that I know of.

  • I think Hilary isn’t too emotional. I mean her man got some “marvelous” from Lewinski, and did she bat an eye? Nah, not really. Especially in the public eye, so I think Hilary has what it takes.

  • I’m female and i wouldnt want a women president, she would freak out once a month….it would be tradgic….

  • For one week of the month. But there’s ritalin for that, so it’s not excuse. I just think men aren’t ready to have a woman president because that would mean women had actual power.

They should quit being such jackasses and admit we’re all equal.

(Not all men of course, but a lot of ‘em.)

  • And not all women are emotional when they PMS.

    I’m practically apathetic.

  • Men, I think, are for the most part as emotional as women, they just don’t show it, bottle it up, or take it out in sports/violence.

  • Nah, that’s stereotyping. Not all women are like that. That’s like saying that all men can be president. Some are just not cut out for it, but some are.

  • no.

who commits more (thoughtless) crimes of anger(an inconvenient emotion)? by far men.

so… woman are less likely to make idiotic decisions… not that i can think of any that our presidents have made.

of course there are exceptions to every rule. but a stereotypical argument made to disqualify a gender from being president, that’s idiotic.

  • They arent too emotional. In my school the women are smarter then the men so catch my drift? They be smarter presidents. And well men can be emotional too.My ex would cry when ever he had to confess to me about things and thought i was going to dump him.He is still jealous and shows it.He’s more emotional then any woman i know.

  • I think, if anything, it would hellp a country trust it’s president more if that president seemed more…human.  Showing emotion is nothing to be ashamed of.  Man or woman, I would prefer a president who isn’t completely apathetic.

  • I can’t believe people are actually saying yes.

Granted, this isn’t as bad as the time when you asked if oral sex within a Christian marriage is wrong.

Still, where on earth do these people come from?

  • No, men can get emotional too….Take a look at Tom Cruise for example…and take a look at some of those baseball managers/players go bonkers at baseball games.

  • no    guys can b way  more emotional than a girl lol

  • How Much Girls Mean To Guys
Sorry, but this chain letter is for real. When Anne Wichert got it for the first time, she ignored it and a week later the love of her
life dumped her for no good reason so BEWARE, and just send the stupid letter, and dont stop reading…

    The Lovers of the Heart

In order to form a more perfect kiss, enable the mighty hug to promote to whom we please but one kiss.

    Article 1:
    Statement of Love: The Kiss

    1. Kiss on the hand = I adore you

    2. Kiss on the cheek = I just want to be friends(not always)

    3. Kiss on the neck = I want you

    4. Kiss on the lips = I love you

    5. Kiss on the ears = I am just playing

    6. Kiss anywhere else = lets not get carried away

    7. Look in your eyes = kiss me

    8. Playing with your hair = I can’t live without you

9.Hand on your waist = I love you to much to let you go

    Article 2: The Three Steps

    1. Girls: If any guys get fresh with you, slap him.

    2. Guys: If any girl slaps you, her intentions are still good.

    3. Guys & Girls: Close your eyes when kissing, it is rude to stare.

    Article 3: The Commandments

    1. Thou shall not squeeze too hard.

    2. Thou shall not ask for a kiss, but take one.

    3. Thou shall kiss at every opportunity.

Here are a few reasons why guys like girls:

    1. They will always smell good even if its just shampoo

    2. The way their heads always find the right spot on our shoulder

    3. How cute they look when they sleep

    4. The ease in which they fit into our arms

    5. The way they kiss you and all of a sudden everything is right in the world

    6. How cute they are when they eat

    7. The way they take hours to get dressed but in the end it makes it all worth while

    8. Because they are always warm even when its minus 30 outside

    9. The way they look good no matter what they wear

    10. The way they fish for compliments even though you both know that you think she’s the most beautiful thing on this earth

    11. How cute they are when they argue

    12. The way her hand always finds yours

    13. The way they smile

    14. The way you feel when you see their name on the caller ID after you just had a big fight

    15. The way she says “lets not fight anymore” even though you know that an hour later….

    16. The way they kiss when you do something nice for them

    17. The way they kiss you when you say “I love you”

    18. Actually … just the way they kiss you…

    19. The way they fall into your arms when they cry

    20. Then the way they apologize for crying over something that silly

    21. The way they hit you and expect it to hurt

    22. Then the way they apologize when it does hurt. (even though we don’t admit it)!

    23. The way they say “I miss you”

    24. The way you miss them

    25. The way their tears make you want to change the world
so that it doesn’t hurt her anymore….. Yet regardless if you love them, hate them, wish they would die or know that you would die without them … it matters not. Because once in your life, whatever they were to the world they become everything to you. When you look them in the eyes, traveling to the depths of their souls and you say a million things without trace of a sound, you know that your own life is inevitable consumed within the rhythmic beatings of her very heart. We love them for a million reasons, No paper would do it justice. It is a thing not of the mind but of the heart. A feeling. Only felt.

This chain started in 1997. It is a love chain letter. In an hour you are supposed to send it to 25 people. It is easy, just look into chat rooms and find them. Anyway, send it to 25 people in 1 hour. Now here comes the fun part. You then say the name of the person you like or love and then the person will say “I love you,” or “Will you go out with me?” NO JOKE!!!!!

    NOW THE CONSEQUENCES

The consequences are: If you break the chain letter, you will have bad luck in future relationships. If you don’t break the chain, then you will be a happy camper!!!
Re-send this as :: How Much Girls Mean To Guys:)

  • You can’t be serious.. And I thought we were trying to get rid of sexism.

  • NOPE. You can’t categorize all women as overemotional anyways. I definitely think women are better at multitasking anyway.

  • Or wait.. That must have only been us females..

  • most of them… yes. yet there are colder women out there than ive ever seen.

yes, thats sexist, but so is testosterone. and testosterone changes the way people behave, not my fault women dont have as much. good thing, too.

  • “who commits more (thoughtless) crimes of anger(an inconvenient emotion)? by far men.

so… woman are less likely to make idiotic decisions… not that i can think of any that our presidents have made.”

theres a serious flaw in that… there really arent enough female world leaders to compare those stats. women simply havent had the oppritunity to make terrible leadership decisions. not that all women would, but you get my point.

  • Many women are more cooly calculating than men.  Many aren’t.  It all depends on the individual .

So many variables, so little time…

  • Too Emotional …., Its not a male or female issue its a individual issue depending on the person. Everybody is Diffrent. Since the question is applied to women , It really depends on the woman and if it was applied to a male, the same answer would be used.. It depends on if the person, and is that person cut out for the job in general.

Leadership is not a male or female issue ..
