There are said to be seven deadly sins:
# 1 Pride
# 2 Lust
# 3 Envy
# 4 Anger
# 5 Covetousness
# 6 Gluttony
# 7 Sloth
Which one do you think is the easiest to hide?

Hide? As in hide the pickle?
Envy
ENVY! i sadly do it all the time
Envy or Covet.
I know by the time I type this out I will not be number one but hey….right now it looks like I am! lol I think I could easily hide lust.
Covetousness
Envy.
gluttony
DANG….I knew that would happen! lol
envy.
3
WOW! I dunno….I can’t even hide in a dark room with no windows….. <3Rachel
#5 is too big of a word. I probably don’t do that one.
Envy
envy
Maybe 3?
3 or 5
Envy.
Covetousness.
3, 5, and 7
Envy.
i think it depends, some people appear to be very neat but in there in there homes or cars might be the dirtiest places known to man. i really think that we try to hide one at least. which one depends on the person. Good topic though.
In America no. 5 has been made into a virtue.
Pride or Lust.
For me, envy and anger.
Lust and envy.
Notice that those sins are things that “normal” people do. Strange that we seem to put alternate sins on that list, like homosexuality, drinking, pre-martial sex…. guess we don’t like to think that maybe God really does view all people the same.
Definitely lust…I could be picturing you naked right now.
Pride show’s in how you carry yourself and your attitude, lust is shown in where your eye’s wander and what you say, envy is probably the easiest to hide because most of the time you hide it inside, anger almost always results in actions whether violent or vocal, covetousness is about the same as envy so I give it a tie for easiest to hide, gluttony will of course come out in your health if not in weight through some miracle of metabolism then in your blood pressure and such, and sloth isn’t sloth unless it’s apparent in your actions.
My vote goes for envy and covetousness.
envy
Probably envy or lust.
what is sloth?
prolly envy
I visited your MySpace account and saw that you have a fascination with Tarot cards and astrology. Just wondering what kind of theologian you are. Curious…
lust
Pride is often masked by false humility.
#5
What’s covetousness?
Probably lust…
covet
Doesn’t matter much whether you can hide your favorite or not. It all turns out the same in the end.
I read this thing that said that each character from willy wonka and the chocolate factory was one of each.
Envy
envy, people perfectionize being fake to people they envy
Envy and covetousness–it’s a toss up.
lust
Envy and Lust, both of whom tremendously bind me. I don’t think any other of the 5 are able to be hidden.
Envy
Envy.
Anger is something I treasure, but I cannot hide it from those who know me extremely well. Still, it is the easiest to control, mainly because I do not want to control it.
Dr. Carasco
Probably lust…. maybe envy
For me, the easiest to hide is anger. A virtue gained by my wayward youth. You never let on until the moment that you choose to unload that anger on the enemy. The unforseen attack is the best form of protecting yourself and also it ensures that the moment is right to do the most damage.
Envy or anger
All sin is deadly… any one sin isn’t any more deadly than anyother for all sin leads to death… God will judge all men and women. It is impossible to hide sin from God.
I’d have to say Envy. But it all depends on the person.
Envy/Covetousness. And lust.
And pride.
envy and lust
Lust. or Envy.
gluttony, b/c it so hard to tell if someone is piging out or just enjoying thier food too much
lust
Covetousness … it’s probably the least noted of this list.
Deffinently not gluttony.
soth, because if your lazy ass is at home in the bed…no one can see you. durrrrrrrrrrrrr
Envy.
Sloth and envy. My two favorite.
Pride and anger.
#3 Envy. What’s not to love about green eyes?
envy. because it’s naturally [at least in me] a thought.
Envy.
all of them lol
Gluttony, just ask Fat Bastard! I WANT YOU IN MY BELLY
greed
lust or envy..depending on the person, of course.
For me, it’d be 2 or 5.
None, because we all know you’re a jealous, arrogant whore who spends too much time eating from Burger King, still living off your parents because you’re too lazy to get a job, who’s still really damn pissed because your best friend stole your boyfriend that you crave but can’t have anymore.
Probably envy or covetousness; I suppose, however, that if someone had trouble dealing with or showing their emotions that it would also be very easy to hide anger. But what is the point of this question? I mean, shouldn’t you also be asking if it is wise or right to hide something sinful?
envy. maybe? i don’t know!
evny
Eh….for me? Envy, anger….I dunno. I think it depends on the person/situation.
3 or 5.
It depends on the person, because there are some people that can hide things like anger or lust exceptionally well, but in general, probably envy or covetousness.
-Jared
Lust, envy, and covetousness are all similar and very inward, so I think that those three would be the easiest to hide.
Anger
or pride
I’m with Matt. #5.
I know which’d be the most difficult to hide:
Sloth: (You’d be too lazy too hide it)
Sloth, if you never get out of bed noone will see it happening.
Depends on the person and situation.
you can’t hide any of them. the reason they’re the seven deadly sins is b/c you act differently towards someone or yourself than you should.
envy.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter which one is “easier to hide”, because ultimately how our peers judge us doesn’t mean a thing. Hide it from your friends and famioly as much as you like. If you’ve got the ‘wants’ really bad, it will poison your life anyway.
Covet.
you can hide any of them really, except being a sloth. that’s one i can’t really manage to hide haha.
covetousness
You can get away with pride all too easily in the world today, but I’d say the easiest to hide is probably covetousness.
coveting, envy, and lust.
well actually most people probably don’t think i’m a sloth. so yeah you can hide any of them if you want.
Envyy
none of them are easy to hide. if you watch people enough, you can always see the damage they are hiding.
Envy.
lust…..cause if i didn’t, i would be arrested…
athiesim. oh wait, that’s not a sin. ha.
Reconcile this:
There is a verse in the bible that says “Be angry and sin not.”
I don’t think anger is necessarily a sin. Depends on what you do with that anger.
probably envy…
for me, it’s usually lust. i don’t show it publically. then, it’s envy. it’s another emotion that’s common in my world. but covetousness caould easily be hidden from others as well. and i’ve proven that theory countless times. lol
lust
GREED!!!
Alysen**~
well i hide alot of anger towards the world inside myself…so im pretty good at hiding that
it’s interesting that lust, envy and covetousness all have to do with wanting what you don’t have. apparently it must be a bigger problem than most would think! i think that they also would be the easiest to hide, just tell yourself to “act like i’m happy with what i have”
envy or anger???
You know some people try to tell me having pride isnt a sin? When its right on that list?Like they are all oh im proud to be whatever.Im like well ive always been told its wrong to be proud of yourself.or something.
def not gluttony…
i know some people that can hide their anger in public pretty good, so im going with anger.
define gluttony and sloth.
for now, i’m going to say covetousness, but i might change my mind after i find out the definitions of those
gluttony or covetry, depending on how much it already disrupts your life.
envy… lust
envy
I’ll have to agree with envy.
Envy and covet, for sure. At least in my experiences…
envy. maybe lust.
i thought greed was a sin? i never heard of anger being one. then again, i haven’t been to church since i was like 5.
wrath for me.
covetousnes… but all can hide in the heart, behind a well placed smile… no one is perfect, all have made these mistakes, one or another of them … all are guilty, but forgiveness is devine…
scoop
Definitely gluttony.
oh i am not good at hiding my lust which was my first thought, but now i am going to say anger. i can hide that pretty well.
I thought envy and the covet word meant the same thing. Maybe not… I think envy is the easiest to hide. I think pride and lust can make you smile, even if you don’t want them to. Anger’s hard to keep bottled up, and I see gluttony and sloth as both being actions. Although they probably are hideable, I think it’s harder to hide actions than thoughts. In my opinion, envy is the least emmotional or impulsive emmotion, making it the one with the least visible response.
Oh, definatley envy.
sloth. i am one lazy person.
but i work harder than everyone else at work. its just. in my free time [which is minimal...why im never number one] i sit on my butt and do a whole lotta nothing
I don’t believe in those stupid things. This imaginary person you people call “God” was pretty diluted when he wrote these.
envy
im going with lust. definetly
Envy.
haha…I was just kidding. And I have a new answer to your question.
It is: You can’t hide any of them from God!
5
envy
In this word. greed/covetousness is pretty good, isn’t it?!
I suppose envy.
I’m going to say pride, because even the most humble like exterier can be completly full of themself. Pride seems to be more inward, I think. Even though it can manifest itself in many ways.
Sloth. You can really disguise sloth.
-Guru on the Hill
Lust because that is a sin in the heart and a man cannot read another mans heart.
I feel like you could hide them all decently well, but they’ll “leak out” slowly. Hmm, but…covetousness definitely has been made into almost a virtue in America, as one person said.
envy
Try and hide them from who? God? If we are judging them as sins then, no you could not hide any of them from God. From people it can be easy to hide any of these.
I have a question:
So these are sins. If you feel them, does that make you a sinner? You can’t help but feel them sometimes. Does that make us all sinners? Even if you ask for forgiveness, you’re gonna feel it again before your life is out. …Or is it if you act on them?
Gluttony would have to be my most comitted. Food kicks arse. Pride would be my most hidden, though still very powerful.
~Stix
Covet or envy. They’re essentially the same.
envy…
Covetousness then lust….if you’re good at control of your facial experssions and actions….’Til The Next
i don’t think you can hide any sin
Envy.

gluttony all you fattys
sloth for me.
None of the above. We wear our imperfections on our sleeves. The problem is calling them fashionable.
The one that lets you blend in, pride…
envy
Lust or envy
Aren’t “covetousness” and envy the same thing? I think wrath is the one you are missing.
you can’t hide any of them from God…isn’t that the only person who matters….but for other people you could probably hide all of them….
Easiest to hide from self or others? Probably all but gluttony can be hidden under other more acceptable masks.
Isn’t a sloth a three toed mamal from South America. I certainly have never seen one, not even on TV. Therefore sloth must be the easiest sin to hide.
Since I’m not Catholic I certainly don’t believe that seven special sins are particularly bad. We believe that all sin is equal.
envy
Pride, you just suck it up and swallow it. It hurts though.
Anger every time
Hey Dan, I found the twister mat!!
Pride
Lust, envy and covetness. They are not immediately apparent by a person’s actions.
Sloth would probably be the hardest to hide. anyone who looks at my room would see that i’m lazy. But i’d say either lust (at least for me) or anger would be the easiest to hide.
either pride or lust
I would say lust.
and i dont think anger is a sin, but bitterness is. anger can be righteous, but it can lead to sinning, but not always.
pride…
Envy
Probably 3 & 5, However:
If you are hiding the fact you commit any of them you are committing the sin of pride because you are wanting to appear more virtuous than you are so that people will think better of, or admire you.
The concept of “deadly” sins came from the early Catholic Church who divided sins into “veniel” (smaller sins which were absolved through participation in the sacriments) and “capital or mortal” which killed grace and eternally damned you unless confessed to a priest.
I don’t believe in sin in the traditional definition of the term, but I do have to agree with Jesus on this one. None of us are without these qualities. It is often as if the purpose of life is to see how well we can learn to control them.
i’d have to go with anger. just look and see how many people repress it daily, and how often it happens too. the more something happens, the easier and easier it gets to do the same thing, so once you’ve repressed anger, it’s so much easier to repress anger again. and again. and again.
i’m guilty.
lust
envy or covetousness… possibly also sloth
3 or 5
Wait, envy and covetousness is the same thing. You forgot wrath, I think.
Envy, definitely
glutony
envy. most definetly.
#5 is encouraged. You don’t need to hide it.
Envy, most other people wear like a badge.
lust?
envy, lust, pride.
lust or envy
Envy would probably be easiest to hide. Though, I can do pretty well at hiding my anger sometimes.
Envy & sloth
All sin is Deadly. So whoever thought of that phrase “the 7 deadly sins” must not know how to count. LOL
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
But to answer the question #2 Lust and #5 Covetousness
Envy
envy.
What’s the difference between envy and covetousness?
Probably envy or gluttony.
lust
gluttony is very hard to cover up espeically if your a fat beast
Who cares?
Lust
to hide, i think envy and covetousness. and aren’t envy and covetousness kinda the same?
Since we all try and hide them…uh…what if one day everyone will know about them…???
Lust. Ask any honest man…it’s lust
None of them…every single one of them would eventually make themselves known. Probably sooner rather than later.
Sloth.
pride and ust
The easiest sin to hide is envy, everything else is pretty obvious.
Envy and sloth for me.
envy. all you have to do it smile, tell ‘em ya love it, and as soon as they turn their backs run out and get ur own.
that’s how everyone dose it.
right?
right?
Lust, envy, and anger.
Envy and anger, personally.
Lust? Ah, no. Hahah.
At some point we hide them all.
3 and 5
I don’t know,
but theres a show based on that.
definitely envy. that’s why people can smile in your face while stabbing you in the back.
envy
Lust is easily with “love” as a facade.
Envy.
Lust is easily hidden* with “love” as a facade.
Lust
sloth
or envy or lust
Envy or lust.
Envy or Lust
envy.
this is site is really weird change it.
this is site is really weird change it.
envy
Covetousness? I thought the other one was Greed?
Ah, whatever, I haven’t been a Catholic in years and I’ve never seen Gilligan’s Island.
Envy or Lust. Because with envy no one actually turns green… and with lust there’s always masturbation.
In this culture? lust, you just blend in with everyone else
Eh, none. I wear my emotions on my face.
LUST
#2
All of them-
I do it every day…
XOxoxoxOX
Jane
Sloth or Envy
envy and covet are the same thing. i think you mean greed when you say covet.
covetousness
noun

Resentful or painful desire for another’s advantages: enviousness, envy, jealousy. See desire.

Excessive desire for more than one needs or deserves: acquisitiveness, avarice, avariciousness, avidity,
Lust, Pride and Wrath!
The slightly less italisized number sign before envy.
However, if you actually scroll up to check, I’d have to change my answer to gullibility.
Envy or Covetousness. Maybe Lust.
[ariana]
Number 5.
I think the easiest to hide would probably be lust because we’re taught to hide our sexuality and sexual feelings, (even though advertisers use it sex as a way to sell products)
For me? I can’t hide anything worth crap. Ever.
But the most covert in nature is probably coveting.
or lust. You just blend in with everyone else. I wish it wasn’t that way, but it’s simple fact.
Envy seems to be the easiest.
’nuff said…
Envy
why is gluttony a sin?
