George W. Bush and Republicans
I was watching the news this morning. It appeared to me after watching CNN that everyone hates Bush and the Republicans. I thought the same thing going into the 2004 elections. It appeared that everyone hated Bush and the Republicans. For 364 days of the year, there is nothing but a struggle with Bush. People think he is taking the country in the wrong direction. People have no confidence in the Republican leadership. Poll after poll confirms the fact that Bush is evil.
If everyone hates Bush and the Republicans, why do they keep winning all of the elections?

first, cuz they are just too ignorant to realize who they are votin’ for
because the rednecks don’t get cable
What the polls say and how the people vote are two different things. Polls are delicate things that are easily skewed by how the questions are asked or what part of the country the poll is taken in. Voting is the whole country, or at least around 40-60 percent of it.
believe me this administration does not share the “values” they say, this was just a genius way to win your vote, SUCKERS!!!
A question I’ve considered greatly myself.
I submitted a post back in August addressing the scare from the stopped terroristic plot with planes going from England to the U.S. In this little editorial, I brought up the same fact-based question.
“You elected him. You voted for him in 2000 and re-elected him in 2004. Yet you all bicker and complain about what a terrible job he is doing, how stupid he is, how strange he talks, etc. If you hate him so, why did you vote for him again? If you hadn’t voted for Bush, but for Gore, do you think things would have worked out as they did? No doubt we would be in serious trouble now if Gore had been elected seeing as how his only use has been “invent[ing] the Internet”.”
That is a question that I have asked many times…. There are just some things that the world may never know….. Even Mr. Owl, couldn’t find the answer…

I don’t think americans really hate each other that much, I think that they want to enact some form of change, hatred is too strong a word. Maybe disgusted or disappointed would make more sense.
Because the media is more liberal than not.
Although I had to laugh at the comment that said rednecks don’t have cable…
It is clear that the press hates Pres Bush, but I do not think that is the general attitude of the nation.
I listen to polls but I take them with a grain of salt. While they are a good cross section measure, they do not respresent the rest of the country. And I also find that the people who do polls don’t vote. If they did, we’d have had a major change in the last election.
And I think the Chimperor is going to get us all killed in a nuclear haze, thank you.
It’s a liberal media, not a true reflection of the majority mindset of America. And while not everyone agrees with Bush and what’s going on, the alternative is so against conservative belief that the Republicans are the best of two evils.
rigged.
For example, in a 1971 Gallup Poll, people were asked if they favored a proposal “to bring home all US troops [from Vietnam[ before the end of the year." Two-thirds of the public agreed with that. Then the question was asked in a different way: Do you agree or disagree with a proposal to withdraw all US troops by the end of the year "regardless of what happens there [Vietnam] after US troops leave”? In this form substantially less than half the public agreed.
American Government, Brief Version, p. 97, by James Q. Wilson
I’m just now studying politics, media, and the polls for my American Government class.
I think the media is very liberal and they don’t give a true picture of what is going on in America. Plus, polls can be rigged by the way you ask the question to get the results you want.
Because some people complain louder than others?
If I told you…I’d have to kill you. Actually, if I told you THEY would kill us both!
No, even the repulicans are against bush this time around.
He is making way to many mistakes.
More people and a higher percentage of the population have voted for George W. Bush than Clinton ever dreamed of. The press needs to pull it head out, Americans may not be perfectly satisfied with the President. But the idiots the Democrats try and win election with, Now those guys really are scary.
Bush is fine. He is a good
mystery of the century
consider his opponents…………..neither one is good, just simply the lesser of two evils (maybe!)
Because they fiddle with the votes. They cause certain votes for opponents to be discounted.
As well, apparently, 80% of votes are counted by only two companies, for which there is no federal authority to overlook things. AS well, the entire touch-screen voting machines leave no paper trail, so it is impossible to ascertain legitimacy.
For the ’04 election, officially, President Bush won November’s election by 2.5%, yet exit polls showed Kerry winning by 3%. The odds of this happening by chance are about 1 in a million. In other words, the Bush camp cheated. The University of California’s Berkeley Quantitative Methods Research Team released a statistical study — the only method available to monitor the accuracy of e-voting — reporting irregularities associated with electronic voting machines may have awarded 130,000-260,000 or more excess votes to President George W. Bush in Florida in the 2004 presidential election.
The CEO of Diebold voting machines (one of the two companies mentioned above) said that he would do “anything” to ensure a Bush victory — which clearly included fudging the results.
Without such machines, Bush would no doubt have had much greater trouble fudging the elections. So everybody does hate him, but he cheats his way in anyway.
Cuz somebody out there likes him for some god damn reason.
good question…
maybe they should stop winning for a change… then things might change for the better…
Well that’s just because the majority of the people that voice their opinions [loudly for that matter,] are liberals. The republicans are ‘conservative’ and don’t feel the need to tell you what they think -all of the time. So although for the most part you’re met with a lot of animosity towards Bush and republicans as a whole, many republicans fade into the background s their numbers don’t seem as great. The only thing is, that there are tons of republicans which do this, which is why they always win the elections.
At least that’s how things seem to work on my campus.
Polls are more accurate than ballots? Give me a break that is so absurd
The people who get quoted and make it into soundbites on TV are not the majority.
Because the majority *don’t* hate Bush and the Republicans. The liberal mass media hates Bush, the Republicans, and anyone who doesn’t agree with the immoral ideology they are seeking to impose on the rest of us. Their biased coverage is designed soley to convince you – the average viewer – that it is an adequate portrayal of social opinion. It is a sneaky attempt to make you think that you already think what they want you to think.
It’s ironic that there are people who hate Bush as much as Al-Quaeda hates the people who hate Bush.
i know, it’s so bizarre…
amanda
hahaha.
actually the “rednecks” arent the ones for him…the “rednecks” are the ones who’s kids are being shipped off to iraq…the ones who are being taken advantage of because theyre farm kids…I dont understand why in the world ANYONE would have voted for him again…he has 2 more years to totally destroy this country….I think Conor Oberst said it best with his lyrics “when the president talks to God”
Election day 2006 hasn’t happened yet.
politics are very interesting to me
I’m not good at them
I was shocked that Clinton won a second term. I mean, what a worthless President.
Because all those polls are over the phone, and the only people who anwser them are democrates..
’cause they don’t have jobs..
So they’re home all day..
Owned.
Bitches.
The answer is clearly space aliens.
because they’re white. and we’re afraid.
Because the Liberal Drive By Media lies not only to us but to itself, they don’t want to think that anyone can appreciate his honest straight forward leadership.
Beats the fuck out of me!!
I don’t agree with everything Bush does but I associate the Democrats with more taxes, almost socialist mindset, like they woulkd like my employer to send them my check and they will give me what they think I need. So thats all I need to keep me away from them. To be real truthful then thought of Hilary being prez scares the crap out of me, or Bill being the first lady
Liberals are the only ones who answer their phones to take the polls… Republicians are too busy sustaining the economy to answer poll questions, and come election day, Liberals are too busy hugging trees to vote.
heres a tip: CNN is a liberal station. of course theyre gonna make it look like nobody likes bush! watch fox news instead.
It’s called SPIN. There are a huge amount of people in this country, in Iraq and many other countries who are thankful for President Bush and the Republicans and would gladly vote for him again!
Because clearly everybody doesn’t dislike Bush or the Republicans. It makes me think… about 8 years ago, another one of our presidents was constantly being put on as being “evil”… without his even having to start a war based on vapor… by the group that is currently in power… but he won two presidential elections too. Polls may reflect the attitudes of some, but not necessarily voting patterns. But tides turn and backlashes occur. Perhaps the polls are reflecting a direction votes will be going in the future, and not necessarily the direction they have gone in the past.
Because half the people who say they do, don’t really mean it. They just say so to fit in with the crowd.
people tend to forget his faults when they vote…but then they complain after he’s elected…actually, why are they complaining?? they voted him…
it’s a mystery*
Media ONLY focuses on the negitve out looks on Bush and never focuses on the positive outlooks and the accomplishemnts brought on by a President who truly cares for his country and the well being of others. But to answer your question Faith! We have faith in this man.
ryc: I so agree with you. At the end of the movie, when the adulterous couple finally got together, I thought, now there’s a relationship that won’t last.
because when it comes to a solid unified leadership, the republicans have it and the democrats do not. as long as the democratic party remains fractured, they will never win.
I lie to the pollsters,I dislike when they ask me who am going to or have voted for,I put ugly fake teeth in and tuck me shirt in and hitch my way pants way up on the way out after I vote and if anyone asks who I voted for I lie like a rug.
Cause middle america is fucking stupid.
Because there are just so many of us…that’s why : )
^^^*Forgot the I^^^, as in I am illiterate.
Because the Republicans are better than Democrats, who are pro-abortion. So the Republicans get most of the Catholic Americans, or at least the ones that actually follow church doctrine. But I am not really happy with Bush.
good question!
because the dems rule the media. they spend the whole time running their mouth and doing very little. repubs talk little but are the ones doing all the legwork.
remember jackie chan’s character from rush hour?
“Not being able to speak is not the same as not speaking. You seem as if you like to talk. I like to let people talk who like to talk. It makes it easier to find out how full of shit they really are.”
Because the rednecks and a lot of christians love him. A lot of people act like he’s God’s gift to mankind, he ain’t nothin’.
Because there’s a difference between whining and acting
Because only a minority hate Bush and the Republicans, but this minority includes high-profile people (like actors) and many of the people in the media. Thus all we hear about is this minority.
black and white, Republican and Democrat.
haha, great question. actually, though, i think it’s because most of the media has a very liberal slant, and therefore only reports negative things about bush and his administration. even if it’s not true, i agree with DuckyBurd, who said,
“the majority of the people that voice their opinions [loudly for that matter,] are liberals. The republicans are ‘conservative’ and don’t feel the need to tell you what they think -all of the time. So although for the most part you’re met with a lot of animosity towards Bush and republicans as a whole, many republicans fade into the background s their numbers don’t seem as great. The only thing is, that there are tons of republicans which do this, which is why they always win the elections.”
Bush has never known what it’s like to be poor. He promised that things would get better for those living in the midst of poverty. But has he truly known what it’s like to be poor? Nope!
All the tax cuts he promised…now benefit the big corporations and people who make a ton of money. The poor do not see any more money in their pockets. In fact, earned income credit was reduced.
Need more education for voters is how I see it. But would Kerry have been better? Who knows.
George has good comedy value.
Ha! Good question, but I’m not complaining. I like Bush.
It’s not everyone that hates the Republicans; it the haters that are just getting the attention and news stories, etc. The news doesn’t normally do a story on people that are okay with what’s going on. Though I will admit that that percentage of people is definitely a bit smaller than it used to be.
People are afraid to adimt they are republicans because we always have to be so defensive. So they don’t claim the title, they just vote that way.
Elections in both Florida (2000) and Ohio (2004) were rigged. That’s obvious.
The whole Republican/Democrat thing is a ploy.
The people that really have a say in how things run are not in office. They are in corporate boardrooms in Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, etc. They are multinational conglomerates that profit handsomely from what is going on today. They profit from the wars, the crises, and the gaping trade deficit. We are mortgaging our children’s futures to Chinsese banks and no one has any sense to say anything.
Don’t believe me? Check for yourself, you may be surprised.
I think the majority of people that agree with Bush are not living in DC or larger cities. They are in those small towns and smaller areas that pollsters completely ignore. They may not have internet connections and may just be people that are overlooked by the media in general. Even though these towns are small, they comprise a huge portion of the Republican party.
Because the media is owned by leftists. You need to expand beyond Drudge report and CNN.
Someone on Real Time with Bill Maher said recently that making fun of President Bush has become the joke that even stupid people laugh at. I thought there was a lot of truth to that. A lot of people that I come across who are openly critical of the president don’t even really follow politics. Ask them why they don’t like him and they’ll come up with some brilliant nugget like “Uhhh, he’s stupid.” My guess is the real reason why many of Bush’s critics make fun of him is because they see their favorite actors like George Clooney or Sean Penn do it so they try to emulate their heroes. But when it comes time for the election they don’t show up to the polls, which is actually probably a good thing because I would just assume ignorant people not vote.
As far as why the Republicans continue to win. Well, maybe when the Dems start nominating someone better than John “I have a plan but I am not going to say what it is.” Kerry then they will.
People are afraid to adimt they are republicans because we always have to be so defensive. So they don’t claim the title, they just vote that way.

Exactly. Far more Democrats blast Republicans than Republicans blast Democrats.
i like Bush. the original reason for the government was for protection of our country and Bush is fulfillling that role. America is relying way too much on its government to keep it running. As Americans, we’ve dropped the ball and we want the government to pick it back up for us. that’s dangerous.
Because preachers tell them if they don’t vote “God’s way” for a man against abortion (but he’s okay with slaughtering thousands of living souls) they’ll be making God unhappy!
Well, they don’t actually win all of the elections.
Bankruptmillionaire said,
“Elections in both Florida (2000) and Ohio (2004) were rigged. That’s obvious.”
Hmmmm, whats that smell?? Oh, I know sour grapes.
He won by over a million in Ohio and Kerry conceded with no resistance, get a freaking grip Oliver Stone.
who knows? All I can say is, Mugabe kept on winning in Zimbabwe…
“i like Bush. the original reason for the government was for protection of our country and Bush is fulfillling that role. America is relying way too much on its government to keep it running. As Americans, we’ve dropped the ball and we want the government to pick it back up for us. that’s dangerous. ”
I agree with you about government. Our government is way too big. But what is Bush doing? The war does not protect us and wastes our money. Letting in illegals wastes our tax dollars even more. Govt spending has ballooned under bush. We cant even privatize social security spending, and now face a gaping hole our children will have to deal with. Instead, we have this nonsense with spending more and more tax payer dollars. How about cutting some more taxes? How about cutting back on spending? How about bringing back that good old conservative American who was suspicious anytime the government so much as dropped an extra dime on cupcakes. What happened to those days?
Bush is a democract. Bush is not a republican in my book, and therefore he is not who I want in office.
haha. that’s true, and very funny.
i guess the people who are agianst Bush are not the majority after all, they just have a bigger mouth.
Because it’s obvious that the media is partial to the democratic party.
http://www.xanga.com/etool_deux/514736366/haha-funny-and-some-not-so.html
Maybe they say they don’t so that they aren’t unpopular with their friends opinions, but they really don’t want to hand it over to the democrats or liberals because they know if even half the things they wanted passed were, then the whole system that sort of works would just be turned upside down, and all sorts of troubles would result with people who don’t necessarily want to change everything in one fell swoop.
polls are flawed and people don’t think for themselves, they think what “their party” tells them to think.
Either Bush won because of Nepotism or our country is runned and operated by idiots.
Pardon my French.
Why does it matter if we LIKE him? Why is it that the Presidency is reduced to a high-budget popularity contest? Shouldn’t a President lead according to what he believe is right and wrong…as stated in his campaign; or should a president try to ride the fence, appeasing everyone but compromising his moral fiber? President Bush is not an idiot. He is more intellegent than many people who post on this blog. He has faced trials that Bill Clinton in his mediocre Presidency never had to deal with. When the Cole was bombed, he did nothing. When the Embassy in Africa was bombed, he launched some cruise missles. He failed to keep peace in Somolia, and he entered late into the Bosnian Conflict…All the while getting Bryan Jimmied in the Oral Office.
What would have happend had Al Gore been President? John Kerry?…does anyone dare to guess? Who do you think has the ability to lead in these troubled times? Is leading by personal integrity better than appeasing the masses? WHAT EXACTLY has President Bush PERSONALY done to screw up this country? (keep in mind- Congress approved action in Iraq)
CNN? Dan, you watch CNN? I’d rather go to the dentist than watch the Communist News Network.
The ”polls” are “fixed” to give the results the liberal media wants. That is why Bush and Republicans are elected, because those so-called polls do not really reflect what the American people really think and how the American people really vote. If you research who is actually polled, you will find that the majority of people polled are Democrats. That is a fact.
Polls are an archiac method which the liberal media uses to try to influence voters to vote the way they (the liberal media) wants them to.
“Not being able to speak is not the same as not speaking. You seem as if you like to talk. I like to let people talk who like to talk. It makes it easier to find out how full of shit they really are.”
That, was awesome.
And I don’t really know much about politics, which is shameful and I’m going to change that this year, but from what I’ve been able to understand it seems like the Democrats want somebody in office that they can control. So far, the only ones they have been able to control come across as idiots to the rest of the voting public. There’s probably a moral to that story if you look hard.
And Bush can’t be President next election so all the fuss is just going to have to attach itself to someone else.
~Victoria
“because the rednecks don’t get cable”
haha, you’re a redneck at heart because you said cable instead of sattelite. however its spelled
I think the real issue is propaganda. Liberals/Democrats don’t sneak into churches and tell the people that if they are Christians, they will vote a certain way. But, with the Conservative/Republican camp, this is exactly what they do. Pat Robertson says that God told him Bush would win, he sends some pamphlets around to churches that make the Republican candidate look like the only “Christian” choice, stuff like that.
And many Christians are, sadly, misinformed as to how God plans to work out His purposes. They take the approach we have to have Christians in office to spread the kingdom of God in America. I am a Christian. I have heard similar things said by pastors. And the politicians know about this misinformation, and in some cases *coughbushcough* the positician is just as misinformed, and they use that to their advantage.
It’s not that people hate Bush and the Republicans, it’s just that the majority who voted for him was made to feel like it was their duty and if they didn’t, they would be bad Christians and bad Americans.
Mr. Bush is a good man, regardless of his mistakes. (You try running the country.) Dedicated voters will choose the best of what options are offered. I might not WANT to vote for Bush, but I sure as hell don’t want Al Gore or Mrs. Billy Clinton running my God-blessed country.
Oh, and I NEVER trust the media, although I occassionally give an ear to Shephard Smith on Fox.
They either possess Evil Mystical Powers, or it’s Florida with all those Dangling Chads!!! ROFL……. Is there an Elephant in the room?
Having the Supreme Court on your side helps. Not to mention disenfranchising black floridian voters when necessary.
Those boys at CNN are just so gosh darn liberal. Better stick to FOX where the Bush praise is like verbal fellatio.
-Nick
Because the media doesn’t reflect the voters (except Fox, and then they get a bad rep. for it.)
The second sentence of your post contains the answer to your question. CNN hates Bush and the republicans (as do most other media outlets.)
because most republicans still consider bush better than the alternative; the alternative being a liberal without a backbone.
The Rpublicans do everything they can to fix the elections. The electronic voting machines are rigged. They just tried to rig a local Democratic primary here in Elizabeth, NJ. A Republican moll posing as a Democrat councilman tried to do this by allowing Republicans to illegallly vote in a Democratic primary. Fortunetly the incumbent Democratic mayor caught them…took them to court and the judge threw out the election and for the first time in Union County (NJ) history there had to be a do over. The re-election results will not be in until tomorrow. I kid you not. You can look it up. Sad but true.
Not everyone hates bush, just the mentally retarded
i think the media has lost touch with the american people. even when they express an idea americans agree with, it is b/c the rest of america just happens to line up with them. it should be just the opposite–they present information about america(ns), and it sometimes might line up with what the reporter thinks.
excellent question
Because people would rathe have fake Christians instead of honest heathens.
The candidate choices we have are pathetic. Candidates are chosen through the power of money and political connections. Candidates are chosen based on their electibility, not their moral character. Voters choose the lesser of two evils. My opinion — Getting rid of the two-party system will be a good start to improving the moral quality of candidates.
The media is so darn liberal… they want everyone to think that Bush is some evil dictator
because no one’s voting the other way or the votes are being manipulated in some way.
Because they’re rigged.
b/c the average IQ is not that high.
Because people would rathe have fake Christians instead of honest heathens.

ha! ha!
I don’t know
*hugs*
people are scared to try someone new. they’d rather not risk having new ideas, even at the cost of their nonstop complaining
that’s what i’d like to know.
“It appeared to me after watching CNN…”
I think I may have found the problem! Maybe CNN isn’t doing the best job of accurately representing the current state of affairs?? I know, that’s crazy talk. Who am I to doubt the media?
The democrats do a lousy job of picking candidates. For four years they portrayed George Bush as a lackluster student who did lousy in college. Then they turned around and nominated a man who got WORSE grades than Bush! That election should have been a “gimme”.
Recent candidates (Kerry, Gore) have been personality-challanged. Hopefully, both parties can field better candidates next time around.
Like we’re going to give away that secret?
(1) They won’t.
(2) If they still do, it’s because the polls are done by educated people and the votes were either faked or done by dumb people.
1) The sheeple who like Bush are less likely to express their opinions in public forums. They’re like Nixon’s “Silent Majority”.
2) Can you say “election fraud”? I KNEW you could.
I think it is foolish (first comment) to say that it is out of ignorance. I know that I weigh my votes carefully. I’m educated. I’m not unintelligent. I choose who I vote for based on a lot of factors, and I may choose a democrat over a republican if he/she has what I am looking for in a leader.
I believe that we work on the principle that he who is loudest must be right, and yet what has happened is that voters are quietly going to the poll and saying what they think and want for their country.
My two cents, for what it is worth. . .
Contrary to what’s being said in the context of sweeping generalizations, I would say it’s because there’s always a big outcry against whoever is in office regardless of what job they’re doing. Especially when the President is from an election that took power from their hands. (Read: Clinton) And as for polls, polls take every step they possibly can to be accurate, so when a poll says that people are dissatisfied, they probably are (unless it’s very close to the margin or error–more dissatisfied people will choose to answer the question than satisfied folk).
The answer is pretty simple. The MSM leads people like lemmings to hate Bush. Bush doesn’t fight back(well until recently anyway), Notice how since he has been fighting back, his favorability ratings are going up? You never hear positive news out of the press concerning Bush. There is plenty of it though. I can cite sources if you wish. There is also a great video clip by Penn and Teller on t eir show “Bullshit” which shows how pollsters ask questions to get the answers that they want. Check out you tube for it.
Clinton was great at patting himself on the back and the press was just orgasmic over him. He never met a press conference that he didn’t like. He loved talking…I mean lying to the press.
That is because we (republicans) don’t have the same opportunities that the demecrates have…
I think it is the unfortuante strength of the Christian right. Yea, I have family that is not Christian, but is afraid of their taxes going up, so that is why they vote for him too.
Because all of the polling companies are in the Blue states…
Because the alternative is so much worse. *shudder*
Here is my HONEST opinion:
Think about the demographics of most Democrats—mostly minorities and lower income status right? Do you really think they are going to get off their asses and go vote?! Chances are no….many of them (I should say us) don’t even bother to register. And that is what pisses me off….they are the first ones to complain about how the country is run, yet they don’t even bother to go and vote and at least TRY to make a difference.
Because we’re Americans & all we do is complain…
“Unfortunate” strength of the Christian right? Yes… heaven forbid any one have conservative values. I, myself, am not a member of this unfortunate group, but let’s be a little open to other’s thoughts & views, shall we?
because the media implies that “everybody” hates Bush and the Republicans, when the truth is that they don’t bother to ask the opinions of people that actually like Republicans.
I have no idea. Polls are not an accurate representation of the voting population.
And, as a redneck independent with liberal tendencies, I can say rednecks do get cable. Just so you know, cleverpseudonym.

“I think the real issue is propaganda. Liberals/Democrats don’t sneak into churches and tell the people that if they are Christians, they will vote a certain way. “
Well, you’re partly right. They don’t sneak in, they just send the freakin candidate himself to speak at churches. John Kerry on many occasions during the 04 campaign spoke against Bush at churches during Sunday services. Yes, I am sure Bush did it also, but my point is you are fooling yourself if you don’t think this happens on both sides of the political spectrum. There are plenty of liberal preachers who will villify the Republicans and sanctify the Dems in their preaching.
b/c the loudest ppl are the ones who have complaints. if you’re happy/content/satisfied w/how things are going, u usually don’t go yelling about it on the streets.
It was fixed.
They don’t. people just naturally hear negative things rather than positive things. For instance, if you are in a big room full of people, and you say something about the war in Iraq, most likely a couple of people will say something negative about Bush. But what about those people that don’t say anything? Either they think that Bush is doing a good job were too afraid to voice an opinion, they think Bush is doing a bad job and didn’t want to voice an opinion, or they didn’y hear you. It just so happens that the more liberal democrats voice their opinions more readily.
The liberal media has distorted reality and deceived you into believing everyone hates Bush and the GOP.
Electoral College
Everyone doesn’t hate Bush, its just that the ones that do can’t keep their damn mouths shut about it. So that is all you ever hear about in the media, and we all know that everything that is in the news is the stone cold truth…
And, as I have stated many times before, the media gets better ratings by showing negative material, all they care about is ratings.
The Republicans wont win all of the elections now. I think People have realized how crappy the Bush admin is. Things will change.
I also see a connection here between elections and a high school basketball game. What does the losing team always do? They say that the other team cheated or that the ref’s weren’t fair.
Although, we all know that if you repeat the same lie over and over, it eventually becomes true…
Because a lot of america is a bunch of rednecks who don’t have TVs.
Duh. Evil = super powers, mind control, etc.
Terrorism is going to be at an all time high becuase of Bush’s “war” on terror. Every single relative of innocents killed from our fighting will join the other side.
The President is making the world a more dangerous place for Americans.
taht’s easy…. the republicans are the ones with all the money….——->>> i’m sure islands aren’t the only things they buy…it’s all a conspiracy.
it’s also all psyhological… people ALWAYS complain about things they hate everyday…but only praise those things they like when asked for their opinion. e.g. i hate homework. that guy is so stupid. that girl is so stupid. i hate the weather. class is so boring. i hate my professor. i’m ugly. i’m fat. VS oh yeah! i’ve been there, they have the best service, food, etc!! (this explanation is for those who shudder at the idea of the government having complete control over everything)
Well, not EVERYONE does. Many states in the Southwest like Bush because of his conversative standpoint.
…and that is the question….
Because you can rig any pole to get the results you want!
They keep winning ‘cuz they cheated @ Florida!
Because they’re white.
An outspoken minority. Also, people who feel that they are all-important and aren’t getting everything their way tend to complain a lot…
cause people are morons.
Because the voting system is based on state population, and Texas is the biggest state. [self explanitory much?] Polls aren’t that accurate to begin with.
And the lower classes, and minorities [whom are the ones complaining mostly] are too lazy to get up and at least vote and try to make a difference….

Because the Republicans are so evil and they’re using their evil magic to make people vote for them. …
But seriously, I have no idea
That’s what I thought during the relection campaign. I only heard bad things, of people disagreeing with Bush. I didn’t know Kerry was THAT BAD.
Beware the reverse coattails effect. I will be a blue year.
Both The Polls and The Reporting can be manipulated. Polls by phrasing of the questions so as to confuse people and by how sampling is done, and Reporting by emphasizing different aspects of the results of polls.
The fact is that most of the population is smarter than he reporters give them credit for. Most people understand that when a reporter says the 42 percent of the population disapproves of how Bush is doing his job, it means that 58 percent actually approve of how he’s doing his job.
Reporters, on the other hand, confuse themselves with their own cleaverness. They used to be respected. Now they are right down there with the lawyers.
the republicans are rigging the voting machines.
its a conspiracy.
In actuality, I think the majority of Americans (even if they aren’t all polled) like the direction the country is going. I think the liberals can’t come up with a good agenda for themselves, so all they can do is whine and complain about Bush–who–like it or not–has a plan, and is working to enact it.
Because Bush-haters are loud, and Bush-lovers get called names like “redneck” or “fundamentalist” and get denied jobs in the media.
And to cover up the fact that they only make up 50% of the population, the Bush-haters make up a lot of shit conspiracy theories like “He rigged the election!”
It is a poor philosophy that cannot conceive of its opposite.
Wait till November.
Your guess is better than mine. My question is has Bush really done a bad job?
I must reitterate for the enth time that Bush did not win his first election! Thus, all that followed was all based on lies and theivery.
because the democrats are too inept to run a winning election campaign..
Ballot tampering?
ohh hahahahahaha.
most younger people only say they hate Bush because they think it’s the cool thing to do. they aren’t informed enough to make a decision based on their own ideas, so they say whatever TV says. they’re all a bunch of Nazi conformist cheerleaders!!
I don’t see why it matters, virtually every president I can think of, or even every candidate, is either descended from or is just a member of the Illuminati and Freemasonry. You think you get a choice? This country is owned by rich folks with bad intentions. So much for democracy.
like many others said, the general nation itself doesn’t hate bush… i’d say most of us are fairly conservative in our beliefs about homeland security and how we want our nation protected. most of the media is liberal, so there is a slant on everything.
“Money” was the first thing that came to my mind.
You sometimes boggle my mind, Mr. Dan. I have been thinking about that very thing for the past few days, and I honestly have no idea.
Because they vote for them.
I dunno.
most younger people only say they hate Bush because they think it’s the cool thing to do. they aren’t informed enough to make a decision based on their own ideas, so they say whatever TV says. they’re all a bunch of Nazi conformist cheerleaders!!
Not true. I don’t give a crap what Green Day says or people on TV say. I’ve lookd into stuff, I’ve made myself informed, and I wish that we had a different president.
Not everyone hates republicans. Hating Bush increases you’re popularity at my school. I hate school.
M-O-N-E-Y!
Election #1- people didn’t know what they were getting themnselves into.
Election #2- people hated Kerry even more.
Plus the fact that many of the same people who dislike Bush didn’t vote, either b/c they just don’t get around to it (young people and minorities tend not to vote, for whatever reason… I really wush they would) or b/c of barriers put in place to keep them from being able to vote.
Bush is a terrorist of his OWN making!
One reason why I don’t watch CNN, it’s depressing to watch. The mainstream media hates Bush and the Republican’s. The majority in the US don’t. I watch Fox News.
I don’t watch CBS, NBC, ABC, anymore; just Fox News. I like O’Reilly, most of the time, because he spits straight. It’s my opinion that “polls” are simply an attempt to influence MY vote (like, if I didn’t know how EVERYONE else was going to vote I wouldn’t know how to vote. Americans are not given much credit for smarts by the media.) When I hear all the spin about the Dems winning the election, I just pull up my red states/blue states election results map from 2004 and GRIN. I think the results in November will follow the same pattern.
Well, we live in Illinois which was like 80% democrat or something…so it may just seem like that to you and me.
People don’t know what they want. I used to watch the polls every day on electoral-vote.com in October, 2004 and it always fluctuated daily between Bush and Kerry. People are whimiscal.
Not enough people vote.
And really, voting is illusion of power. We don’t really control who gets into office; the electoral college does. The whole system’s just fucked.
First of all, not EVERYONE hates him/them. But he won by like, 51 to 49% in ’04, right? So there are many who do.
And while many people dislike him, they still think that we should support him.
And, you know, that Florida recount thing, yeah, maybe that happens too.
:]
idk but i like it!!!!! Bush rocks! and republicans do too! idk what i would do if a Dem. won that would be horrible
Money Talks!
Because the liberal media puts a skew on things. Then, when it comes out that the Republicans actually win, they have a huge outcry about how the vote was rigged, etc. Very silly.
in my opinion (and that of many other people) he didn’t win the election. he was appointed because the election was (for lack of a better word) rigged.
Because republicans are badass :]
That’s easy. At least half the county doesn’t hate Bush and the Rep’s.
Because a lot of Democrates must be morons and don’t know how to punch the right chit. That makes more sense than anything else. That’s why the Dems don’t want you to have to have an ID or drivers Liscence or be a US citizen. That is 50% of their voting block. 10% are Wicca’s. 25% are athiests. 5% are homeless drug addicts and the other 10% are very nice people with weak minds.
Because frequently when you look at the Democratic candidate, the option is them, or “ANYBODY ELSE”….
they cheated. that’s why.
Because republicans have maaagical powers
No, it’s actually because the liberals virtually control the media.
Let’s ask why CNN is so anti-republican? News reporting that isn’t “fair and balanced”???!!! Grief!
anti bush!!!!!!
Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? …there is an answer by the way
good question? What’s really going on?
According to CNN everyone hates Bush … The polls on Fox are the other way around!
I guess the majority of the US are republicans?
I wish I freaking knew.
Democrat for ’08! :]
the way i see it, icouldn’t do bush’s job. there’s so much pressure… so many people pulling him in opposite directions. sometimes we have to resort to blind faith. in my opinion, bush started it, so bush should get a chance to clean things up a bit.
i’m not saying i’m pro-bush… i have a sister in iraq. i’m not saying i’m anti-bush because i’m not going to criticize someone for a job i know i could not o any better.
all we can do is vote, voice the opinion we have, and hope that other people can see mistakes and choose proactive people to put in positions of leadership.
polls are inaccurate focus groups.
Bush has had one of the hardest presidency’s ever, and has done a great job of steadying the rocking boat. He deserves a lot more respect and a lot less being treated like a scapegoat for the things that still need political tweaking.
But why is something political on a “THEOLOGIAN cafe?”
i actually like Bush. And I don’t think he’s a bad president.
i think it was pretty clear that the media was believing what they wanted to believe back in 2004 and until the very last second they really had themselves almost convinced. this time i think they have made the American people hate their president…the good thing is that even though i bet the democrats will win the next presidency, we will be able to shove it in their face that whoever it will be will also do a bad job by year four or five. because it is a huge job, and everyone thinks they can do better until the time actually comes. poor Mr. President, everybody blames everything bad on him, and everything good he does is either ignored, twisted, or the credit is given to somebody else.
I think that one obvious reason is that people are… flaky? They follow whatever one person tells them, and agree with them, and when someone else says the opposite they agree with them… when they’re with (certain) people, they feel they have to keep they’re opinions to themselves, for one reason or another. It’s quite understandable, though… people get so touchy when you state an opinion, and for that opinion you are viewed as an ‘idiot’ or evern worse. I’m glad that I am not ashamed of my opinions… but I’m gladder still that I can accept others.
Because people couldn’t live with their conscience otherwise.
um hello, because they are rigged!
no papertrail
Not everyone hates the Bush administration, just the media. Plus it’s CNN.
~Tabby
Because that’s the point of view that the media portrays…
Because the government want them to win.
You’re loading the question with your perceptions without telling us why you have them — you give no links or examples so that your perception can be viewed together with the supposed instances and then discussed.
What other choice did we have? Americans are afraid of change, as I would assume its only human, but he got voted in because of his dad and we ASSUMED he would take care of our country…….. until someone outstanding runs against him, the majority will keep in him for fear of what someone else will come in and change.
Heck if I know. I don’t understand that one at all!
How well I remember a poll I saw in the newspaper on the eve of the 1996 (I think) elections: “Majority of Americans favor Clinton over Dole in Election!” Then the pie chart: “Clinton: 52%. Dole: 48%. [small print on the bottom:] Margin of error: 6%.”
Think about that one for a while and you’ll have your answer.
I really don’t know. On the last presidential election, I thought for sure that John Kerry was going to win because almost everybody I knew was voting for him. I was shocked when he didn’t. But one thing’s for sure, I’m so glad that he can’t be re-elected, lol.
-KrIsTiN-
Maybe they’re winning because the ‘old-minded’ people of the population are still voting for them. That’s probably why. Other than that it’s probably people not giving a jack shit about what they wrote down.
Easy, he cheats.
Replicated poll findings show that Bush’s popularity is still pretty low. Most Americans do not like him and *now* realize that he isn’t doing a good job handling terrorism, that Iraq was a mistake, that the world is worse off now than it was on 9/11, etc. Most of the people who voted for him in 04 sincerely believed that he was better suited for terrorism and they were sincerely wrong.
polls are essentialy the opinion of the person who put together the poll; for instance if the editor puts together a “national poll” that could mean 700 calls to people in blue states and 200 calls to those in independant states, and 100 calls to people in red states. and since the media is very often at odds with the president whether it be this or a previous president that often determines the results of the polls
because he’s an amazing president. watch the stock market, it’s coming up. we’re fighting a war against people who kill others because they think it’s good. why do you think he’s still here?
its liberal media…they’ll do anything to get people to hate bush soo it wouldn’t make sense for them to show people who like Bush
