Karma and Reincarnation
I was reading Super_Piggie’s site and she mentioned reincarnation. I actually don’t believe in reincarnation or karma. But the idea got me thinking about the two issues combined.
If you believe in karma and reincarnation, what does your current life say about the last life you lived?”

I think I probably murdered puppies with an axe.
That there is much to learn
I must have been a Queen/Warrior in my last life.
I probably was a shogunate in medieval Japan.
In my last life I didn’thave much, but I never wasted ANYTHING.
I appreciated what little I had, made the best of every card I was dealt and was immensely satisfied.
I was further elevated to rejoin Krishna, but my ego still desired badly to experience more of the material world, so I came back to get many opportunities, and squander them all.
I waste everything and wonder why I am sad.
It says I am KING OF THE WORLD! WOO HOO! And that Christians are just plain silly see it here in my video:

A girl told me once that she was pretty sure that I was an elephant in my last life.
it says that i should have been reborn as a bug.
I was David Hasslehoff.
i was probably a boring, average person, same as now. i don’t know; ask me in a few years.
I do believe in reincarnation. I believe that whatever happens this lifetime is a reflection of the last and what happens this lifetime will be a reflection of the next life.
Have a good weekend, Dan. =)
I dunno, I’ll go ask my former self…
Add to my sleep deprived day work which consisted of a little boy (2 1/2) getting makeup all over the carpet, putting a small container of his dad’s cologne, then peeing on the floor, then his older sister having an iron falling on her head and it was quite a stressful day.
But it’s better now.
Rachel
That I was lazy and needed a good lesson in suffering and working hard.
I used to be a duck.
actually my friend knows this phsychic woman who told me i was a male musician……
yeah im pretty much thinking houndini cuz im a total mastermind.
lmao.
If karma is real then I must have lived a pretty good life because I have it good
i meant magician*
I was a bad bad person. Had to have been.
Hmmm…..if karma were real, I’d say I must have been an average and balanced person in my previous life. Because thats how I am now. I have a balanced life with lots of blessings. Yup.
I don’t know
(for the second time today)
*sigh*
I believe in karma to an extent, if you do good things, good things are more likley to happen to you. If you’re nice to other people, more people are going to show kindness to you.
If you do bad things, bad things are more likely to come back on you, etc. I don’t believe there is magic hand that comes around bitch slapping the bad or rewarding the good.
I believe in reincarnation to an extent, energy doesn’t die it just changes form. I sometimes believe we come back in some way or another, and sometimes I feel maybe I’ve “been here” before. And for all I know that feeling could be some natural thing humans experience due to some kind of chemicals in their brains, who knows.
I don’t really believe we were neccesarily humans or animals or something every time, sometimes I wonder if there is reincarnation maybe we really do come back until some certain purpose is done, then we may move to a Heaven of sorts.
Maybe it doesn’t matter what we do, or whether or not we kill ourselves, maybe it’s just how it is.
There are only two people I’ve ever met that I will believe anything they say, one of them has told me something “ghost” related and a young boy.
What’s all this have to do with your question? Not much! Haha
I think I might have been killed in a tornado in the 1920′s?
Heee- I think it would explain all of my reoccuring tornado dreams…

Soup for lunch
I have a pretty swell life, compared to most of the world (that does not mean i’m rich, or have had everything handed to me)
so i might have done something right in the previous life
I have a wonderful family, I go to a wonderful, and have shelter and food everyday
I’m very fortunate
I go to a wonderful school*
damn typos
I was probably an average person, which is why I’m so average now.
I’ve always led a charmed life.
in my most recent past life, I was a revolutionary in the Spanish civil war.
I must have done something pretty darn good
I’m not a believer in reubcarnation, but if I was I would say that I was the sort of person who never took family or friends for granted, because mine are wonderful and always there for me. I would also say that my former self probably didn’t take material goods too seriously while not taking for granted what they had. I’ve always had shelter and clothes and food on the table. But, on the down side, I’d have say that when plans “fell into place” so to speak that I took it for granted, because nothing ever seems to go the way I plan.
Don’t know, I don’t believe in that stuff either.
I must have been cursed by someone to lead an interesting life.
I was a man, last time, though, and sometimes it shows.
I was probably a woman last time out, or a monk!!!
But when I come back, I want to be a tigershark!!!!
Male Tiger sharks have two units!!!
Think of the parties I could go to with that!!!
In case you didn’t catch it: Yes I meant Male units!
yeah, i don’t believe all of that stuff.
I don’t believe in reincarnation. I do believe in Karma, just like “The Golden Rule.” I firmly believe what comes around goes around….
…I also hate using cliche’s but sometimes my brain isn’t active enough to refute. :p
i dont believe in reincarnation or karma, but i do believe in heaven & that God rewards u for the good things u do & punishes u for the bad things u do. so it’s kinda like karma. but definitely not reincarnation.
I was probably a chicken, but a very, very well-behaved one.
Good luck interpreting where that puts me on the socio-economic spectrum…hehe…
I think that in my past life I was a 2 dollar whore…because I’m always horny!
As far as Karma goes (well, I hate that word ever since Culture Club-Boy George)…I do know this as an indisputable fact: What goes around, comes around! And in the end, all the evils a person does will come back to bite him/her in the ass!
My life is better than 99% of anybody elses. I must’ve been Jesus in my last life or something…
im not quite sure i believe in reincarnation but i dont completely dismiss the idea. i think maybe what you do in your present life has to do with what happened in your past life. Example: your a murderer. maybe in your last life you held some kind of grudge towards someone or something and you didnt resolve it before you died. Or lets say your really popular. Maybe in your last life you were some kind of hero or someone that helped people and that people looked up to. Know what im sayin? but idk.
reminds me of what my Choir director said one day,
“You sopranos always have the easiest parts of the songs. In your last life you must’ve been a tax attorney and this life is a break from the hard stuff.”
I think that might be true, life is constantly rotating between an easy life, then a hard life, and so on. That is, if reincarnation is true.
Hemmm to be honest I believe I was a cat. Or maybe a guide dog, as I always love to give advice and point people in the right direction
~Lynds
I wasn’t too bad.
i was a gypsy in a former life, that is, if i believed in reincarnation. though i must have been a pretty horrible gypsy, because if my understanding of karma is correct, i have a good life, so i must have been a half-decent person in a past life. so i must have been a very poor gypsy. oh well.
I think I did good in my past life..but in this life…I’m destined to accomplish more..(I don’t believe in reincarnation or karma)!
i dont know: how am i supposed to know?
If i believed in reincarnation which I most certainly do not, then I’d like to think that I was a gunslinger in the American Southwest. A good one at that, dispensing justice the old fashioned way as seen on T.V. Not the real life poop.
I must have been a prick.
I probably was wasted most of the time and treated my life like shit. Which I plan on doing in this life too.
AreA disgrAce
I was an old lady called Ethel.
It means that I must have been very good to people, and am probably only a few more lives away from nirvana. After all, I was born white, male, American, and healthy. That’s, like, the most powerful least-discriminated-against 5% of the world!
I’ve done a few exercises with a woman who would show you your past lives in an almost sleep/dream state. I was some sort of small bear once, I was also beheaded once (which explains my neck. It is VERY sensitive and I don’t like people touching it, except for the husband…and he can’t sneak up on me)
Hopefull it would be a better new life!
I’ve been pondering that alot lately as you may recall from the Hi, My name is Earl post………really wish I had that answer.
I probably was a pretty average person, who probably should’ve given a little bit more to charity, but other than was pretty all right, ’cause my life is pretty alright, except for the odd trauma.
Says I have some karmic debts to pay off and I’m paying quite nicely.
i was a cat. i’m lazy during the day and have more energy at night.
or i was just a good (and smart) person, because i have a good life.
I dont know…
I do know that my current husband was a husband to me in other lives… we are so comfortable with each other… I think Im here this time around to learn some thing new, what Im Not sure…and in some past lives I mush have been very charatible and kind to the people who are now my parents, because they treat me this wonderful way..
who is truly to know.we will all know some day
I wasn’t living up to my full potential. And I probably was super mean to fat people, and being fat in this life is my punishment.
In my last life I was a bad bad person
Interesting question… ‘Til The Next
that i was rasputin.
Fight Mental Illness Stigma
Nothing. Because it isn’t real.
Sorry, I know that isn’t what you asked, but I have strong beliefs on this matter and can’t justify pretending otherwise for the sake of the question
i think i was a politician…
can anyone say NIXON?
I was probably Marilyn Monroe in my past life because she’s pretty much the opposite of me.
It says I had no previous life because reincarnation is a bunch of crap.
But just for fun, I think I was a bug and bit someone, poisioned them causing them to die, than got squished the next day because that’s just how I roll and can’t kill bugs anymore because they are living things, too.
Taking a strict (traditional) view of karma, I probably did some nasty stuff. But we all do, at one time or another. That’s how we learn.
I must’ve done good.
I continue to grow in enlightenment, not knowing what my next life will be. Sometimes there are lessons to be learned.
Hmm.
I have ALWAYS believed in reincarnation and karma (even VERY young- even though no one else in my family believes in it). I think I made some poor choices in a past life. I have been to a psychic who told me about some of my past lives.
that my past life was pretty much the same as my present life. a middle class person being pretty nice, but not super nice. or a really nice poor person.
Wow. I really love this question.
I like to think I’m pretty fortunate. Though some aspects are screwed up beyond hope of repair, other people have lives much worse.
I think I was someone nice. And someone who really GOT things, you know? I sang.
i think i was a chindian [chinese indian] who had horrible friends, many failed marriages, but remained to be a most friendly person.
cuz now, im just an indian who loves chinese and indian food, i have amazing friends.. i HAVE had failed relationships.. but im still a friendly chica!
XOXO,
cG.
guess I wasn’t too bad.
i have a long ways to go to reach nirvana
that i was good cuz i came back as a human
the highest rank there is.
you coulda bene a bird that gave up its nest and died then came back a human. u weren’t nessarily a human in ur past life.
some people don’t believe in reincarnation, but i think they should believe in karma. good moral ethics.
I was a pothead.
I believe that in my last life i had everything easy for me, that’s why in this life it’s always been a struggle.
I was born the same year Einstien died so I’m guessing I am Einstien. Huh?
I must have been a Shih Tzu that couldn’t be housebroken.
I must have been a saint
I was a reallllllly naughty sea slug.
Ya’ know…I have heard Sylvia Browne speak on “Montel” and she tells people that they were some kind of “Annie Oakley” and lived quite an adventerous life. Then, I ask myself, “So, why are they living another life, if the past life was so great?!” Crazy!
I think I spent my last life strangling newborn kittens. o____o
Aside from some physical problems, I have it pretty good. But I don’t believe in karma or reincarnation.
I must have been average, because my life is pretty average right now.
-Guru on the Hill
I don’t believe in reincarnation, but karma is actually a Christian principle in so many words…in the Bible it states that you reap what you sow. In other words, whatever goes around, comes around…every dog has his day…or, yep, you guessed it…karma.
nope, sorry, can’t answer this one. No such thing as reincarnation. the Bible says “He [Jesus] has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” (Hebrews 9: 26b-28)
doing good.
Oh I think there is Karma.
more sinful than now
Um….not that anyone would read this, but reincarnation doesn’t exist. Heb. 9:27 says “It is appointed unto man ONCE to die, and after this, the judgement”.
God says it, not me, so you take it up with him. But you certainly will not be responsible or judged as a cat!
Feel free to respond if anyone reads this.
“just as it is appointed for man to live once, and after that comes judgement.” Hebrews 9:27. I believed in reincarnation until I read that verse. Aren’t you glad that you don’t have to come back as a bug?
there is so much love in my life that i must have been a very loving person in my previous life, since karma reflects back to you what you put out into the universe. however, everything seems to be a struggle or a test, so perhaps i was also a priviledged person who did not fully appreciate and express gratitude for the ease of my previous life.
but i misread the question since i don’t believe in reincarnation, although i answered as if i did. the answer reflects what i would posit if i actually believed in reincarnation. karma is a universal concept, and quite Christian, as others have pointed out.
I was obviously a goody-two-shoes. I have a very fortunate and previlaged life, which I don’t appreciate that often. I will probably be a frog on a disection board in my next life. Oh well, at least I will live that one shortly. Then, I will move on to a cow, and end up living in India, and be sacred… So, the next life I’m a rich technician who invented something shiney and pretty that works cool. Then I’ll end up being ungreatfull about my life in the one after that, and end up being another frog. Or slug. Depends.
Or maybe I’m just blabbing away.
I have a very fortunate life. And, I am determined to use it to my best advantage, and maybe make a fender-bender is humanity. Help do something historically important. Discover another interesting and useful study. Do something, ’cause no one else really plans to. I want to make a difference, somewhere, somehow in the world. That’s all I want my life to live up to. I don’t want to be famous, or rich. Just intelligent, educated, and effective. I’ve thought about working for a Salvation Army kind of a thing in Africa, or nature specialist (minus the ironic death by stringray barb). So, hey, yeah, have you realized that I’m a hippy yet? *Hugs nearby tree*
Wow, alot of posts about how there is no such thing as reincarnation. Okay, great, thanks for telling us. Stop posting, ’cause this post obviously isn’t directed toward those who don’t believe in reincarnation. But it’s cool if you don’t, just don’t post on this BECAUSE you don’t believe in reincarnation. That’s just stupid. Stop.
I believe that death is not final, but I do not believe in reincarnation. If I did, I’d have to say I was a rotten, rotten person in my past life since I grew up in an abusive situation only to jump into a marriage with someone who was abusive. So, the first 31 years of my life were hell on earth. I’ve actually had believer’s in reincarnation tell me my situation was Karma punishing me for all the bad things I did in my past life. Alrighty then…
Dan – you believe in Karma. Jesus said as you sow so shall ye reap. I know you believe that. That is nothing more than karma.
I must have done something really bad in my past life because I’m paying for this time around. (I dont beleve in Karma or reincarnation either)
In that case I must’ve done a lot of bad things, but somehow redeemed myself.
I was thin, and rich.
I belive in Karma. Its always showing its face.
Reincarnation is ridicules.
That’s just my opinion though.
Don’t believe in reincarnation either. But I really don’t know what my previous life would have been like. I am white, male living in America and I have more clothes than most people in the world and have only a few times had to go hungry and while I am poor now I probably won’t be in 5- 10 years (hopefully). But on the other hand I have all sorts of bad stuff happen to me one thing after the other these last 3 years. (Death, divorce, frequent moving, drug addicted family members, suicidal friends, and relative unsuccesful finances. So maybe I started out good and turned evil or the other way around. Who knows.
By the way I think Karma is a bit different then you reap what you sow. Karma is closely connected to reincarnation. It pays you back in your next life not the one you are currently living in. Reaping what you Sow you get paid back either in this life or in God’s judgement. Just clarifying so people don’t misunderstand Christianity.
I think I must have treated some of the people in my life pretty badly & am suffering for it, but I have learned how much stronger living through some of these experiences can make a person. Aside from that, I live a very average life, work really hard, struggle a bit with money, have beautiful kids & a husband who is willing to work on things as a couple most of the time & great parents & sister. All in all, I’m blessed.
I must’ve been some kind of whore or something, probably a big bitch, because my life is good, but when it hits a bump down the road, it hits hard and it stays for a while. Plus, I have no luck with the opposit sex, so I must’ve done something…
it would either show me that i just got a raw deal as of late and my life is just a balance because i didnt really live a very worthwhile or worthless past life or that i was a not too bad with sharing things but bad with causing emotional sufferage
As a Buddhist I believe in reincarnation…what I probably was in my past life is what happened back then. I don’t pay much attention to it. It’s not like thinking about it can help with my current situation -_-
I believe I was a blind herbalist who told fortunes…or maybe I was a sexy vampyre…
