  • T-Shirt Messages

I was just reading an article on CBSnews.com.  The article was talking about how some messages on t-shirts were considered inappropriate for kids to wear.  The concern is that the shirts were too suggestive.  The focus on the article was on girls wearing these shirts and the message they are sending.

Here is the one they mentioned:

Here is another I found on a site:

    Mens Wet T Shirt
Would you feel uncomfortable with your daughter wearing one of these shirts or are they just for fun?

  • If I had a daughter I wouldn’t want her wearing thoses, so no.

  • i dont like th first

  • errr, I mean yes.  I misread the question.  I thought it was “would you let your daughter wear one of these shirts”

  • I wouldn’t want my girls wearing these.

  • Here is my thing Im 15 and I find the shirts funny as hell and so do alot of other people so here is what you do if you don’t like them DON’T WEAR THEM it is as simple as that if you don’t want your kid wearing them DON’T LET THEM again very simple.

  • i wouldnt

but i probably would wear them as a joke

    haha

  • I wouldn’t want any type like those for if i did have a daughter.

  • but i would only wear them around the house

  • I would wear those.. they are fun. But I would not let my daughter wear them.

  • doesnt offend me. i find them amusing. lol

  • those kind of shirts are just kinda dumb

  • Depending on the situation, I would find it in bad taste for an adult to wear them as well!!

    Shera

  • They’re pretty funny, but I wouldn’t let my teenage daughter wear it. And certainly her future father won’t let her, either.

  • Yes, very much. [I don't have a daughter so the question is simply rhetorical to me] And I wouldn’t even let her buy those tee shirts to begin with. Those are simply inappropriate to wear anywhere, let alone school. And they send out the wrong message to guys. It pretty much gives guys a reason to call them sluts and whores etc etc.

    <3

  • i wouldn’t let my daughter whear anything that tell other prople she is a whore.

  • Not really. They are just for fun.

    AreA disgrAce

  • If I had a child , I wouldn’t want her wearing those types of shirts. Or any other suggestive wear, I see kids as young as 7 wearing shirts that are suggestive, and shorts with names on the ass, and lets not even talk about the underware now-a-days…

  • They are sexually suggestive. NO, I would not allow my daugther to wear one, and I despise father’s who think it’s no harm done. Nice tie-in to your school post, now that we know what went on in there.

  • Opps I mis read the question too! just like Flodge.

    Yes I would feel uncomfortable.

  • as a daughter, i would wear one, just not around my dad, maybe my mom though, she’d think its funny.

    Swt

  • sure, i’d let my son wear those

  • Here is my thing Im 15 and I find the shirts funny as hell and so do alot of other people so here is what you do if you don’t like them DON’T WEAR THEM it is as simple as that if you don’t want your kid wearing them DON’T LET THEM again very simple.

Well, sor-ry. I’m glad you find them funny, because I find them suggestive. Yeah, and I’m pretty sure that there are other tees that have some witty remarks on them that are not as.

  • no way – way too blantant

    amanda

  • yeah i prefer my daughter to not be a slut? i wouldn’t even wear dumb shit like that

  • i wouldn’t let her wear em

  • whatever, i wear those shirts… and i’m a guy.

  • those aren’t even funny. i like message t-shirts, but only when they are clever.

  • P.S.

Haha. I know guys wear them alot though. I see a good majority of guys wear them at school, not as much girls though. The whole vintage and some other trend has taken over. =] I love the shirts with the product names on them [i.e coca cola, blow pops] or tinkerbell or something. I wouldn’t wear anything like that that would make me look trashy. Girls like that at my school do that nonsense.

  • Depends on how old my daughter is…or my son, let’s not get gender biased. Those shirts on a man can be titilating too. If s/he’s under a certain age or emotionally immature, the answer would be no. And you can bet I’d be educating my kid on the facts of life.

  • Those are disgusting. I would never let my kids walk out the door in either of those.

  • At a certain age its acceptable, but too young and its skanky.

  • those kind of shirts are just kinda dumb

^ totally agree. they’re not even funny–just stupid. bottom line.. no!
    XOXO,
    cG.

  • Depends on the age but yeah, I think they are out of line, especially if they are school age.

  • it’s just for fun…so yeah, I would.  and I would understand that it’s just for fun…

  • Whoa, I absolutely would not allow my daughter, or any of my children wear something with such messages. I don’t think I’d even wear them myself.

“i wouldn’t let my daughter whear[sic] anything that tell other prople she is a whore.

I think that about sums it up

  • i’d be uncomfortable with my duaghter wearing those
i recommend the basic black greggorant T
you can’t go wrong with that

  • They are a little funny, but I definately wouldn’t want my daughter in one of them.

  • If I had a daughter who wore one of those shirts especially the second, I would kill her and any guy that looked at her.

  • They are fun but not for an under age (17 or younger) daughter.

  • I would feel uncomforable with my daughter wearing shirts like that. Though the messages are subliminal, and not too raunchy.. they still make very obvious assumptions that I would not want my daughter to be associated with.

  • I would not let my child wear that!

  • well, i’d feel uncomfortable if my daughter wore it… if i had a daughter. but i’d wear it!

  • I think these would be funnier on a guy.

  • Some people don’t get it…

if you want people to treat you like trash.. dress trashy. Girls where low cut shirts saying ”spank me” & short skirts with their thongs sticking out… all the while sitting around complaining about guys staring at their chest or making dirty comments. They wonder why they can’t find quality guys. (The answer? Because you aren’t dressed like a quality girl!)

  • To the [majority] of people that replied; I agree with you. And I’m glad that there are some sensitive young [and older] persons today. Those things basically let other people infer that the wearer is a whore.

    That about says it. =]

  • that’s retarded. i’d make my kid stay home than where that

  • I wouldn’t let her wear them.

  • I have no daughter.
How dare you discriminate against me with your twisted, biased questions, Dan? You oughta be ashamed, assuming we all have daughters here.
What about people’s sons? Ever think of them?
Yeah, I thought you had. Ok.

  • Yikes…don’t wear the shirt unless you’re old enough to see what it’s suggesting.  As in, if it’s rated PG-13, you’d better be at least 13.  And if it’s rated R, for the love of God, don’t give it to the girl until she’s 17.

That’s the best you can do without mandating what people can or cannot wear.  It still affects younger girls who can read the shirt and entertain the thoughts of what the shirt suggests, but those shirts are everywhere.  We can’t recall them.  We’re too busy chuckling at them because we’re immature enough to think they’re funny (and I’m not putting myself outside that group by any means).

  • as a joke in a very relaxed setting, but otherwise that’s incredibly awkward if she meant to wear one of those t-shirts seriously.

  • my dad would have a COW if i ever thought about it

    xX-Nicole-Xx

  • If my daughter wanted to wear it, then I would let her wear it. It’s her decision…not mine. Parents try to have too much control over their kids.

  • You know, it’s all a matter of weather or not you as an individual think they’re funny. But if you don’t think they’re funny, then your not one of the crude humorists that they were ment for .I’d wear the black one in a heart beat, just to see what the reaction would be! lol

  • I wouldn’t let my daughter wear those. Not until she was 18.

  • If I had a daughter — schoolaged or teenaged — no, I would not allow her to wear those shirts. I wouldn’t even like it very much if a college-aged daughter of mine wore those shirts, but at that point, I’d have to appreciate that she can make her own decisions.  At the very least, I’d talk with her about the sort of message she sends by wearing those kinds of shirts (e.g. “I’m trying to turn you on.) and what she invites by wearing them (e.g. sexual advances).

    Hope

  • i think its crazy how all of the adults are telling people what to wear now .. at my school you arent even allowed to show your shoulders anymore .. they mide as well just put us in uniforms .. what you wear is freedom of expression .. all people look at you and judge you no matter how many people say they dont so you want your clothes to be a representation of who you are .. i dont have many shirts like that but i have a few .. some of them my mom even bought for me .. guys can wear shirts like that why not girls?? i like your site by the way

  • Well I’m only a girl, but if I did have a daughter, sure, I’ll let her. I mean, come on, parents need to face reality because the more you make them not to, the more they’ll want to.

  • I wouldn’t feel comfortable with my daughter wearing something like that, nor would I wear such a thing. Way too provocative.

  • I’d let my daughter wear them if she was the school slut, but otherwise, no.

  • Yeah…when I see those shirts I just think they look like a hoe, to very bluntly state it.

  • This is why most schools are going to School Uniforms….

Of course if my Daughter did I would! But she knows better…. my son on the other hand has some weiner Tee’s… Double standard….. what ya gonna do….

We should all go back to the 50s every one dressed respectable back then….

  • the first one’s just kinda awkward but the second one is overtly sexual. i would never wear either of them, nor would i let my daughter (if i had one) wear them. that’s just asking for trouble.

  • I think it’s ridiculous.  Don’t parents remember high school boys?  Heck.  Not even just high school boys, but boys in general.  No offense, I just know that guys are,for the most part, visual. Why would you want suggestive words across your chest or butt to be associated with you or your offspring?

    Rachel

  • if i have a daughter, i won’t let her wear a shirt like that. i don’t want to raise a slut.

  • girls look cheap with shirts like that, so yes I’d be uncomfortable

  • oh yeah, just bcuz u tell ur kids not to wear something doesn’t mean they won’t. if these are the same parents who hates pedophiles and are anti-sex, then that’s just stupid if they let their girls wear them.

  • I would never!

  • I misread that question, I would feel uncomfortable ahah

  • I would never let my daughters wear those t-shirts. I’m pretty sure with the dress code in our schools, they’d be sent home from school for wearing a shirt like that.

  • I would feel very uncomfortable if my daughter wore that.

not that i have one but hey.

  • Some are just dumb, but I love the wise sayings.

    I have:

“Keep Staring, I Might Do a Trick”

    “I’m the Evil Twin”

    and many more.

    I love ‘em to death.

  • They might be just in fun, but no child of mine would wear them. Just because something is fun doesn’t make it right.

  • No, you represent what you wear.

  • Those tee shirts are just for FUN!

I’ve seen and read a whole lot worse on teeshirts.

  • I have a shit that says “I like my women like I like my coffee, ground up and in the freezer.”

    IS THAT SUGGESTIVE?

Um, you see. If I had a daugther, if she was the kind of daughter I think I’d have I wouldn’t care because it would be silly to her. If my daughter turned out to be a slut (I’d know, you just know these kind of things) then there wouldn’t be much I could do about it, so I’d let her.

    /shrug

I honestly think kids turn out how they’re going to turn out no matter what you do.

  • No, I don’t like what they propose. Or the thoughts that teenage boys would have after reading them.

  • I went on a trip once and we went to the mall one night, and one of my friends with me bought a shirt that says “everything tastes better with whipped cream and a cherry on top”.

Honestly I hate wearing smut like that. But I don’t care, whatever floats the boats of the people around me.

As for a daughter… heh, I dunno. It would depend. Honestly I hope that my daughter doesn’t start shopping at Hollister and Abercrombie and the other smut stores when I have one.

  • I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t let my daughter, either.

  • wouldnt wear them but id give them for presents ^_^

  • I would have to say no, I wouldn’t let my daughter wear one.

  • They’re inappropriate for children. Adults can objectify themselves if they like. But kids? Nope.

  • I wear them all the time. But if I had daughters, I’d only let them wear ones like that when they reach a certain age.

  • I wouldn’t let my child wear those…however IF I did my job raising my kids…they wouldn’t do it anyway.

  • If I had kids, I would not let them wear that.

  • Are you kidding me?!?  Those shirts are TOTALLY not appropriate for kids to wear!!!!   Not to mention that they practically invite child molesters to have fantasies involving the poor kid (and who knows what else).

I would NEVER let my kids wear shirts with slogans like that on them, and honestly I’d question the parenting of those who do.

  • This kid at my job was sent to the office for violating the dress code. His shirt Read:  “I’m a treasure hunter, now show me your chest”

  • This kid at my job was sent to the office for violating the dress code. His shirt Read:  “I’m a treasure hunter, now show me your chest”

  • yea kids shouldnt wear it. Anyone under..18

  • We have the freedom to be both stupid and inappropriate.

  • The top one is funny.  I’d let my kid wear it if she was mature.

The second one is tasteless and I wouldn’t let anyone wear it, not even a friend.

  • my daughters will not be wearing shirts like that.

  • They are ‘amusing’ to an extent, but I wouldn’t want my daughter to wear those to school; weekends are ok.

  • yeah i think i wouldnt like it so much.

  • they’re funny,im a daughter and don’t wear those shirts because
    A) I would get in so much trouble at school and
    B) Middle School buys tend to make very crude jokes about anything that could be taken as an innuendo so I don’t want to see what they would do with something that says it flat out.

but my kids will not be allowe to wear those until they are at least 16.
and girls maybe older, it would get unwanted attention,
although the end desicion will be the kids.

  • They’re amusing, in that tactless way that’s so popular these days, but I definitely would be uncomfortable with my daughter (if/when I have her) wearing one. Then again, mom’s not so comfortable with my oddly-colored hair and piercings…Such is the way of the world.

I was vaguely amused with the responses to the reincarnation question. Makes a person think.

  • besides, some are just crude and tasteless.
    ans some are incredibly moronic.
butn a lot of them are actualluy funny.

  • I wouldn’t wear that.

  • umm i wouldn’t let em’ even if they tried

  • errr no she would not wear those t-shirts had I a daughter!

  • They are certainly inappropriate for school. They convey a sexually suggestive message to a group of young people who do not need any help in that realm. I hope my daughters woudl never wear attire like that.

  • I would be very uncomfortable with it.

  • only hookers wear those………oh, wait i have a couple of them……they’re not quite so dirty though

  • I wouldn’t let her wear those, even if it was a joke…some people wouldn’t get the joke.

  • People can wear whatever they want to as long as they know what it means. Last week, I saw an 8-year-old boy wearing a shirt that said “You’re number one on my to do list” and I thought that was inappropriate because he probably doesn’t know where babies come from. Other than that, it’s their body and they can put trash like that on them if they want to.

  • haha I like the spank me one haha.

  • I’d feel veerrryyy uncomfortable letting my daughter wear those!

  • If you don’t like them, don’t buy them.  Simple as that.

  • I have seen kids with these shirts & I HATE them.  When the “child” is over 18, they can wear whatever they want.  When young kids or tweens wear them- no.

  • Ok, “spank me” worn by a child.

Would a child know about spanking fetishes? Would I child really kneel over and let people get in line to spank him/her while doing a live webcast from your basement den?

    Probably not.

Do 15 year old, hell, 12 year olds, heck, even 10 year olds (I got my first kiss at 10 from a 12 year old) know about this adult stuff like spanking?

    Yeah.

    Do they do it?

    Not often.

Could we prevent the few that do?

    No.

“Imagine this T-shirt wet” worn by a 15 year old. A dirty old man like me would see it and probably feel very guilty for a moment.

Parents, as the people who purchase these clothes make these decisions. My police officer father bought me my first stovepipes and nikes with gang straps (huh? but yeah, left for people, right for folk) and it wouldnt have made an iota of difference yes or no.

What the fear of these T shirts? An 8th grade boy is gonna look with rapt attention at the 7th graders he now has better access to as a hooked up 8th grader, and parents cant stop the truth or dare parties in empty basements of the meth orgies later in life.

My kid would have to buy these shirts themselves, and they wont leave the house in my sight wearing them before high school. Thats why we brought our good clothes out in a bag.

This is silly. How about some educational discussion about the news in a family circle at night? I’m gonna be really easy going on my kids, so when they think they might be ODing or pregnant they will come to me FIRST so I can fix it as best I can. No uproar from my end about these rather silly T-shirts.

  • Dan, why do you post? For featured or so people can learn about other reigons and tribes of the USA?

  • hell, i’d wear the second one.

  • It depends on how old my daughter is…under 18 = HELL NO   18-24 = NO   24-30 ONLY IF YOU WANT TO BE A TRASHY WHORE   31-80 = YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH TO NOT CARE WHAT I THINK ANYMORE   81-120 = GRANDMA…YOU’RE EMBARASSING ME!

  • Yes.
I would not let my daughter wear shirts like that, nor pants with lettering across the butt, since we’re talking provacation here. Sorry, but girls look like complete and total sluts nowadays. Who cares whether they are or not. They’re sending the message through how they act and the clothing they wear and then they wonder why they get so disrespected.

  • Haha. They’re fine. A little ugly fashion-wise, but who cares.

  • lol.  i just read the guy who said he’d let his son where them.  so would i.  that’s hilarious!

i hate all the ridiculous t-shirts out there right now…oops…someone’s hurt…

  • No. I want my girls to respect themselves. Sound harsh? Sorry, but it’s more than just a T-shirt.

  • Maybe fun on someone else’s daughter…not mine.

  • personally, I think the slogans on girls shirts are stupid anyway (and I can say that as I’m a girl).

  • Haha I might… and I might wear them just for the reaction. Eh, people are too serious about this kinda stuff.

  • If I had a daughter, I wouldn’t want her to wear them. Personally, I find them humorous, but would probably wear them only around people I’m comfortable with. Those who appreciate the joke.

  • Yes.  And women wonder why the world treats them like pieces of meat.  Pure stupidity.

  • 9/10 11/12 13/14…no

    15/16 and older maybe.

I do not like the one about the shirt being wet and in my opinion is for young ladies 18 and older.

Old enough to show what is underneath their wet t-shirt.

  • oh, hell no.

  • i find the humor in it… but i bettter not find anybody getting offended because some random guy were like hitting on them perversely.

  • No, I would not allow my child to wear those shirts.  They are completely inappropriate for someone under 18.

  • Depends on how old she is…

  • i don’t wear shirts like that.
and there is NO flippin’ WAY i would let my daughter wear something like that!

  • The first one isn’t so bad….if she’s like…17 or 18.
I am definitley offended by the second one.

  • If I had a daughter…I would ban sunlight if she wore that.

  • i don’t find them funny at all. Heck I don’t like those stupid text tee-shirt’s.

  • My boyfriend has a shirt that says, “Remember my name, you’ll be screaming it later.”

  • hmm, no.

what about guys shirts? i know of one that says ‘my other shirt is on your girlfriend’. i just think they’re all shallow and cheesey.

  • not in a million years would I feel comfortable or even let my kid wear something like that. With all the creeps out there (like the one in Colorodo) you would hope kids would think..

  • I wouldnt want my offspring that happens to be a female to wear that… its quite tacky, really.

  • If I had a daughter which I don’t;; I wouldn’t let her wear things like that.

  • I can’t believe how almost everyone is saying that they wouldn’t let their daughters wear it. It’s a shirt. If they want to wear it, then let them go ahead and wear it. If that’s the way they want to present themselves, then SO? It’s their life. Not your’s.

  • i have the first one… but its a pink tank top that says it… i only wear it on my bday though =)

  • They’re for fun, but people need to realize that wearing shirts like that only brings on unwanted stares and advances.

  • I think they’re in bad taste no matter what age, even for an adult. But that’s just my opinion.

  • it’s just for fun tho so no i wouldnt mind.

  • no, i think they’re tacky for ayone to wear.

  • Those shirts are really gross. I wouldn’t want my daughters wearing those shirts. Sick.

  • If I had a daughter, I wouldn’t want her to wear one of those.

I work for a company that prints on garments. A few weeks ago, we printed some shorts for a local high school. The shorts had the name of the school’s team printed across the seat. The team’s name was the “Rough Riders.”

Would you want your daughter to wear shorts with “Rough Riders” printed across the seat?

  • Over my dead body.

  • I don’t have to worry. She wouldn’t.

  • Not really, although the whole “No! You’ve been a naughty girl! Take off that shirt right now… Daddy SAYS take off that shirt right now!” would probably be more awkward than actually letting her wear it. :P

    Evan.

  • Oooh, I want a spank me shirt ~_^ … but I’m an adult liveing 4 hours away from my Dad. He’d kill me.

Not really apprpriate for the younger ones, but hey. I used to wear a shirt with 3 condoms playing instruemtns & singing labled “Rubber band” It was cute when I was like 15.

  • oh how weird. i’m a daughter AND a sister and i wouldn’t even wear it. i know it’s funny though, but i don’t find crude humor funny.

if my dad or brother saw that shirt, they wouldn’t be too happy with me.

  • there is no way i would want my children to wear those shirts, regarless of age.  what is appropriate and inappropriate should not be determined by someone’s legal status as an adult or minor.  inappropriate is inappropriate!

  • I’d be concerned if I had a child that wanted to dress like that.

  • Yah!  If my daughter ever attempted….geesh!  I actually see some girls wearing t-shirts that say, “Future Milf”  ICK!

And a girl at ash’s school the other night (back to school) had a shirt that said, “WENCH” in huge lettering.  Uggggh!

  • i’d wear the spanking one- its fun!

  • I’d like to see her get out of the house with one of those on.

    [ariana]

  • I wouldn’t want my daughter wearing one.

  • Those two are kind of funny..I wouldn’t wear them really, not my style. I saw a guy wearing a distasteful shirt the other day..

“LAUGH So I can see them bounce.”

    Yeah. At school.

  • Uncomfortable, yes.  If she was in high school, I’d accept it.

  • I wouldn’t have a daughter who would be interested in wearing something like that.
If, however, she was determined… I’d have to let her do it (unless she was under 16).
Then I’d go shoot myself for having raised one of those little whores.

  • Those are hilarious hahahaha

  • If I had a daughter and she wanted those shirts, I’d make her go on the street corner and earn them the way she wants to be perceived.

    If that makes sense…

  • I wouldn’t feel comfortable if anyone’s daughter wore that sort of thing.  Those shirts just encourage the the objectification of women as sex objects.  If a woman wanted to wear that in the presence of her spouse, that would be humorous and flirtatious.  But sending out those messages to total strangers by wearing the shirts in public shows incredibly poor judgment.

  • I wouldn’t personally wear one, but alot of people wore them last year and the high school I go to changed the dress code because of them. Now we can only wear plain polo shirts. No words on any of our clothes.

  • I would not wear those myself, nor would I allow my daughter to. You have to be careful what you project.

    -Guru on the Hill

  • how old is the daughter? if she is an adult fine, if she is not, then no, its just tacky.

  • I have no kids. But I’ll be uncomfortable if my relatives wear them, which will never happen. Their parents are stricttttttttttt!

  • No I wouldn’t let her wear it, actually I wouldn’t buy it for her and if she saved up her allowance and bought it then I would burn it.

  • I’d maybe wear them, depending on how offensive they get, but I’d KILL my daughter if she was wearing those.

  • they are kinda cute, but it takes teenage lust a little far

  • Ehh a little to much for me but I have shirts that said I love to play football :]

2 reasons of course. Guys and I do love me some football. Girls can play too ya know?

  • i wouldnt wear one

  • um yeah

i’d feel uncomfortable if my friends were wearing them

    those seem a little skanky

  • i wouldn’t let my daughter wear those.

  • cant wear that 1

  • I wouldn’t let my girls wear them. But, they wouldn’t wear them anyway. They know better. Wise as serpents, innocent as doves. Thank God.

  • If my teen age daughter were still flat chested I would allow her to wear the second T.Hey….where can I get one of those for my sister????  {:0)

  • since i don’t have daughters but do have 3 nieces, i’d say it would depend on the age.  while i don’t like the shirts, especially the wet shirt one, since i believe they objectify women, if my nieces wanted to wear them once they were 17 or 18, it would be ok… not whole-heartedly endorsed, but ok.

if they were younger than 17, i’d have to veto the shirts.

  • I don’t like either of them, and of couse if I had a daughter I wouldn’t want her wearing one.
    Definitely, it would be forbidden.

  • No. Not for my children (if I had one) not for anybody. While it IS funny, I think it only invites trouble. *shrug*

  • The problem with those shirts is that little girls who are 12 or 13 are wearing them, and really have no idea what they mean.  Or at least, they shouldn’t have any idea what they mean.  If I had a daughter, I definitely wouldn’t want her wearing those, just because it’s advertising something that you probably don’t want your children advertising.

  • As an adult, I wouldn’t care. But I wouldn’t let my theo daughter wear that shirt.

  • If I had  a teenage daughter, and she wanted to wear them, I’d think we had deeper issues to deal with than just whether or not she could wear some stupid t-shirt.

  • I was at wal-mart last week.

A young girl, about 14, was walking around with her mom.

She was wearing a t-shirt that read “you must be at least 18 to ride this ride.”

There’s something absolutely disgusting about it all.  I was thinking about what was going through the mother’s mind…Why not just have someone walk around with your kid saying, “rape my daughter”.  Truly sick.

  • If I found one of my daughters (when they come) wearing one of these shirts, I’d snatch them up, take them home, make them change, and rip the shirt to peices before their eyes.  There again, there is a difference between having fun and hunting.

    Cowboy

  • I’d feel uncomfortable wearing one, never mind if I had any kids.

  • It depends on the age.  As she is now at 12, no.  If she was 18 or older than I’d be OK.  It would also depend on the personality of my daughter at 18.  If she’s taking on trashy behaviors, it would be a problem.  If she considers them funny-haha, than I’d still be OK.  I’m not going to censor her because of my feelings (assuming she’s of age of course!)

  • i’d sure let them wear those! heck yes!

  • Actually, I would like to know where I can get that first one!  My daughter turns 16 soon and that is a really fun shirt!!  Don’t think the second one is appropriate as she is really built anyway!

  • If I had a daughter, she surely would not DARE to wear such a thing in public.

  • Those shirts yes, but there are some That are rather funny.

  • I don’t find them in the least bit offensive, however…I do think it’s really innapropriate for a teenage girl to wear them. Then again, they aren’t any worse than some of the other clothes they have these days (mini-skirts, tube tops, etc).

I think I’d rather just dress my little girl in a potato sack and call that good o.O

  • My daughters are adult – so whatever they want to tell the world about themselves is their biz. I would not allow my grandchildren to wear that garbage in my presense.

  • I`d let my kid wear them, I`m not saying I`d like it though.

I think shorts with juicy written on the ass are worse…
Even kind of gross if you think about it.
Brittony Spears wears them though…So it must be ok. *eye roll*

  • noooo!!!

i’d never wear that kind of message, and i’d never feel comfortable letting anyone i cared about portray themselves that way.

  • I would feel very uncomfortable letting my daughter wear one of those. Around the house might be ok if they were 21 and older, but other than that..it gets a firm “No.” from me.

P.S. This is my first time on your page, and first post.

  • As long as you understand what it means and if you want wear them, then wear them. What other people wear doesn’t affect me.

  • Yes I would feel uncomfortable. If a person really would let there kids wear stuff like that …..well that’s just plain stupidity on the parents (and childs) part.

  • Oh and by the way, I honestly don’t see ANYTHING funny about either shirt.

  • I wouldn’t approve of daughter or son wearing suggestive t-shirts.

  • no way, i hate seeing people wear those to school, they are such sluts

  • hey i have both of those shirts hehe

  • I would hurt the child. But only if she was old enough to understand the message. If she wasn’t then i would let her on to it. But either way she would not be wearing that shirt.

  •  > I’m male, and If I wore either it would NOT be around my kids….;-} But, no. 1 I would let my pre-teen/teen daughter wear….. Huh-uh to no.2, plain and simple…. If they tried to do no. 1 w/o pemission, she’d make them hurt…. Independent sort….

    Peace, anyhow

  • i would feel extremely uncomfortable wearing those shirts. its all a question of respect really. a woman who respects herself, and wants men to respect her, would not where those shirts.

  • I would wear them…but not my baby!

  • being a 14 year old, i find those shirts amusing and funny. most of the time people like them not because their dirty, but more because we are able to wear them, you cant prevent it, no matter how much you try, you can punish the person wearing it, but you still cannot prevent rebellion of your teenager, its just a fad.

  • I used to think that “adult language” and the like was really for adults.  I have since come to realize that “adult language” is among the most juvenile, uncreative, and generally ignorant form of “expression” that humanity can come up with.

Likewise, these shirts.  They’re not even clever.  The shirts represent the hormonal issues of teenagers — teenagers who need discipline and better forms of fun – so they may be apropos for the girls, but encouraging that kind of behavior among them now will only result in them becoming similarly depraved (not to mention droll) adults.

  • AHHH! Too many parents!

Well, I wouldn’t want to wear any of those. It makes you look like a protitute. And for me, being in a community where you would be made fun of wearing those shirts, it would be a definite no-no.

I think it would be okay for a drunk college kid to wear the spank me shirt. Not to class though. ~xox, Ginny

  • PS: I’m 13. Not a 60 year old.

  • depends on how old mydaughter is when im with her…

  • I don’t see how anyone could like those enough to wear them. It’s despicable. Who the hell makes them?

  • And if I had a daughter I’d take those when she was gone and burn them. Of course she’d try to rebel against me after that, but of course I’d be cool about everything else.

  • I would burn those t-shirts if I had a daughter

    I’d wear them though XD

  • I’d let my girl wear what she wants to wear…unless her clothes make her look like she just came out of the womb because they’re so damn skimpy. Other than that, wear what you’d like.

  • They’re just for fun. But on the other hand, if it were my daughter, I wouldn’t let her wear one. Well, it would depend on how old she was. But I guess it kind of just depends.

  • I wouldn’t want my daughter to wear it at a young age but once she turns 18 I would no longer stop her but only try to express my opinion to her.

  • They are jokes, but they are still inappropriate.

  • no freaking way!!

  • they are stupid well not all but most only a very small percent may be considered as fun
