Happy Thanksgiving
While I was traveling yesterday, I was listening to the radio. On the program they were talking about how the Boston Red Sox paid over $51 million to talk with Japanese pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka. They get their money back if he won’t sign with them. So they are paying $51 million and they still have to sign a contract with him.
The people on the news station thought this was incredible. They then launched into a discussion about who they would want to talk to if they could talk to anyone who ever lived in history. One had mentioned the idea of talking to Lee Harvey Oswald. They threw out a few other names of popular people.
If you could meet anyone whoever lived in history, who would you want to meet?

Nero.
Abe lincoln! FIRST COMMENT!!
abe lincoln + martin luther king jr
King Solomon. I hear he was wise or something.
Ohmygosh. So close to first and I can’t think of just one. Every time I think of a name, a more important one pops into my head…
Queen Elizabeth I
Eve. To ask her why she ate that blasted forbidden fruit.
Enid Blyton
Right now, my sister in-law who died 3 1/2 years ago.
Happy Thanksgiving!
At the moment, the Wright Brothers come to mind…ya, hopefully flying is in my future…
Picasso, Renior, Nolan, Monet.
renoir**
God. there are so many ?’s i would ask him.
Woodrow Wilson. Or Frank Sinatra. Or Peter Jennings!
Albert Einstein! I think he would be fascinating to talk to!
or Samuel Clemens! (Mark Twain) I’ll bet he’d be a hoot to converse with!
Martin Luther, Jesus, or (sorry to be repetitive) Eve, as well, just to plant my foot squarely in her behind.
So many names come to mind… I guess I would have to say Marilyn Monroe.
Benjamin Franklin! He was worldy, savy and a the perfect ladies man!
Socrates
Happy Thanksgiving! =D Jesus.
Jesus Allah Buddha
Happy Thanksgiving ….
Meet no one
Wow. Hm.
Jane Austen and C. S. Lewis. Harriet Beecher Stowe. Harriet Tubman. Cleopatra. Queen Elizabeth I. William Shakespeare (to solve the various mysteries once and for all, so no poor English major would ever have to speculate again). Thomas Jefferson. Martin Luther. And Martin Luther King Jr. Gene Kelly. Audrey Hepburn. J. R. R. Tolkein (although I have the feeling he wouldn’t want to talk about his books).
And the list continues….
~Victoria
jesus
Pfft, and King David of course. And a woman named Jael, whose account is found in the OT. And Deborah. And Ruth. And Solomon’s mom.
Look her up. She was frickin AWESOME.
~V
** I mean look up Jael.
tough decision!
Jesus Christ
Helen Keller. And both of my great-grandpas.
And perhaps some Egyptian person …
Myself when I was 8, so we could go sledding together.
It’s a toss up between Bigfoot and Vlad Tepes.
Adolf Hitler.
NO, I don’t like WORSHIP him. I think he was cruel and twisted just like everyone else. I just would like to know what the HELL he was thinking.
Since I am going to meet him (Jesus) some day, I think I would settle on a “regular human”. I opt for Theodore Roosevelt.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Jesus
either Alexander the Great, or Lao Teu.
Myself. I would like to sit down and talk to myself over a good cup of coffee and some cheese cake. When I was about 13 years old.
And a Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, Dan!
I would definitely want to talk to Einstein about the theory of relativity. And I’d probably talk to Jesus, too.
-Guru on the Hill
Allready met Jesus.
Great Grandparents. Great Uncle. I would have to go with Adam and Eve too!
JESUS.
happy turkey day!
i’d like to meet jesus.
Albert Einstein.
Other than Jesus? (Cause that’s my obvious pick) Hmm… probably my dad’s dad, cause he killed himself and I don’t remember him. I’d like to find out if my grandma drove him to it, cause, uh, she’d drive me batty.
Jesus Christ. He’s changed the world.
Uhhh……..there’s nobody in history that I would really like to talk to that’s coming to mind. Maybe like……Ben Franklin or something? I don’t know…..nobody in history has really interested me that much. I have to hand it to the person that said Marilyn Monroe, though, I guess it would be cool to meet her.
-KrIsTiN-
abe lincoln, Martin Luther King
Or the captain of the Titanic……umm…….what’s his name…….oh yeah, E.J. Smith. I want to meet him. Or anyone that was on the Titanic, for that matter.
-KrIsTiN-
One of the monarchs from anywhere between the 1200s and the 1700s. There are several of those people who interest me greatly…but I can’t decide exactly which one I’d want to meet.
Oh, and several of the women in the Bible. Some of those ladies were incredible…
Abe Lincoln, and Jesus. Maybe Beethoven, too.
I would want to talk to Leonardo Da Vinci to find out the true meanings of his paintings and disguss how corrupt the church was back then and compare it to today.
Anyone that doesn’t believe in evolution, carbon dating, stem cell research, abortion, etc, is a mindless robot following one group of people’s opinion instead of finding their own. This group tells them twisted things in a manor that can only be described as brainwashing. They say any religion that isn’t Christianity, is a cult when in fact the very definition of a cult describes the core of Christianity itself. In the video game and movie of Da Vinci code, Teabing says, “The mind only sees what it wants to see.” This is the brainwashing that Christianity puts on people but if these people could jsut look at the world, the evidence, history, and other religions with an open mind, they’d see the truth. The truth, brings peace. Not lies and coverups.
Hitler, the power he had to persuade the people was magnificent even though it was cruel and sickening. I’d like to know how he was able to become so powerful.
Jesus
As another person posted– I also have met Jesus Christ and will get to spend eternity with Him so I won’t pick Jesus which leads me to Israel’s greatest king–King David–but then we will spend eternity together with Christ–cool!!!
Theodore Suess Geisel
Wow, I did not hear about Daisuke. I would like to meet Dr. King and Princess Di.
JFK or FDR. Cuzz the whole initial’s thing is hot! hah
Dr Martin Luther King Jr….Shakespere…… Hitler……. Moses……
I’m gonna be cliche and say Da Vinci.
hmmm… maybe Shakespeare?
Jesus Christ in the flesh
then again, shakespeare is probably EXTREMELY sexist. Maybe I’ll go with Mark Twain. (Oh wait, he was probably sexist to…)
Mother Teresa!
sage
happy thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!! i would talk to god, deffinitly, and paul! he would be amazing! luv ya and god bless
lol
Why is everyone saying Jesus, or God. You get to see them in heaven. C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien since they both went to the same college at the same time. I would like to see their style before they became masters. Or maybe they were brilliant their entire lifes and they were just waiting to get done with school so they could put all their genious down on paper.
Jesus
marie antoinette
Hitler.
Easy one. Jesus, of course.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, Dan.
I would enjoy sitting down for a cup of coffee with Thomas Aquinas or Andres Wiberg. have a relaxing thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving
I’ve noticed there are those that say Jesus. I already know Him and talk to Him. So I’d say, Lucille Ball. (My all time hero.)
Jesus, because I’m repetitive like that.
Jesus
Edgar Allen Poe or Jesus… both would prove to have interesting conversations.
I wouldn’t be able to choose, I think I’d just be surprised to see who would be willing to talk to me if I ever become famous as doubtful as that is.
Gandhi or Annie Oakley.
Einstein, of course.
Wonderful question. Right now, I just want to talk to my friend. He’s still alive, but not in my life anymore.
so many. Jesus. then(in no specific order) Ghandi, Socrates, Ben Franklin, Plato, Jim Morrison, Einstien……. SO ON AND SO ON. You get the idea, Geniuses, Peace keepers, Poets and Philosophers. And of course a special xangan in the history of now.
I’m thinking,,, Benny Franklin.
But their are so many people, Abe Lincon, Joan of Arc, William Tyndale, Michal Sattler < most likely no one knows who he is. lol.
Paul the apostle. No holds barred, this-is-the-way-it-is, attitude. Not one that is rude, or even condescending, but just “real”. He made some things clear in the Bible that I didn’t understand in any other book of the Bible. And, he showed the grace of God clearly, as well.
Adam
God.
Beethoven
probably Adam the first human being that lived on the earth. find out what it was like to live before the curse upon all of creation.
elliott smith
einstein.
My top 3:
1st, Jesus.
2nd, Mother Theresa
3rd, Da Vinci
Ghandi, King Louis XIV, Ken Kesey, William Shakespeare, Socrates, Andy Warhol, Mother Teresa, and the list goes on.
Lewis Carroll, Mary Shelley, or C.S. Lewis.
A lot of people wasted their choice. What’s hte point of meeting the great Greek philosophers if you don’t speak Ancient Greek? I can’t imagine getting much out of anyone informationwise. It’s not like a twenty minute talk with Buddha will enlighten you. To the contrary, you’d probably be left very confused. No, I’d go with superficial benefits. I’d meet Douglas Adams. He’s funny and I love British accents. Done.
Oh, and happy Thanksgiving to you too, Dan.
Jesus, CS Lewis, and MLK. I can’t decide!
Hitler
Ghandi
Cleopatra
My top 3
Happy Thanksgiving
<3
audrey hepburn
That’s a hard question! ah!
Maybe C.S.Lewis ..Or J.R.R. Tolkien..maybe
why not
JESUS!!
Ok yes
Jesus
for sure
bettie page :]
abe lincoln.
Elizabeth Tudor, the virgin queen. Bloody Mary…anyone from that period of history, really.
Jack the Ripper or Erzebeth Bathory.
Audrey Hepburn, Frank Sinatra, Queen Victoria (i want to know what her panties were really like), Buddha, Jesus (for the record, I have a theory that Jesus was freaking hot. Could an ugly person get that many followers? Plus he’s supposed to be the son of god. If he’s not freaking beautiful what hope is there for the rest of us?)
C.S. Lewis. No doubt. But actually…I think I would want to talk to Jesus more.
You
Jesus and Hitler.
I want to see if there were freindly and charismatic in person, to perpetuate to completely different sets of actions and loyalty in people for different purposes.
One lasted, one didn’t.
Aleister Crowley.
St. Paul, formerly known as Saul
The actual JFK shooter…the 2nd gunmen (yes I believe there was one, thank you). so I can kick him in the ‘nads
My past lives. I want to meet the incarnations I was before to see if I’m doing anything different.
’nuff said…
sadly Jesus is first, But Napoleon is a close second.
Gene Wilder :]]
jesus. the apostle paul. hitler.
either buddha or just a regular person from the middle ages.
1. Mark Twain
2. Benjamin Franklin
3. Andrew Carnegie
King David, Esther, Paul, J.S. Bach…lots of people.
I think one person personally might be my grandfather on my dads side-another one more spiritually might be Jesus. I’d love to drill him with questions about why things are what they are, etc….and Eve is another spiritually.
Phew that’s actually really really hard.
Jesus, Joan d’Arc, Susan B. Anthony, Abe Lincoln, Hitler (to kick his ass harcore), Edgar Allen Poe (he really does sound like someone I would hang out with), Einstein, Van Gogh, Matisse, Michelangelo, Picasso…
JANIS JOPLIN BECAUSE HER MUSIC TOUCHES MY SOUL
i refuse to answer this at 3:30am lol
…Jesus!
just kidding; he’s my standard answer to everything (who ate all the cookies? jesus! why is it raining- jesus said so!)
Matthew Shepard-final answer. now that would be a controversial post.
i would prolly have to say Johnny Cash and then prolly… Adam and Eve… kinda curious about the whole “creation” thing… ummmmm… maybe ben franklin… great inventor even tho he was a manwhore… yeah… that’s about it…
Jesus Christ and Mary Magdeline; Kurt Cobain.
Ask them what really happened all those years ago…
Also Judas…..Which is odd because that makes three out of the four people that I wanna meet religious characters, and I’m an agnostic…= =;;;
> Jesus, Mohammed, Buddah,…… Let’s see….. That’ all
Peace
Let’s just leave it at the fact that you don’t want to know.
Jesus Christ
and/or
Sigmund Freud.
I swear at one point I had two other names…
*shrug* They’re the two big ones.
Who’s Lee Harvey Oswald? Anyways, hmmmmmmmmmmm…. Oh, I know. Gosh, why didn’t I think of this sooner? God, of course. If it has to be a human, then…. I don’t know. I guess someone really smart or someone who had an idea about how to change the world for the better.
i’d go with Deflate’s answer. and also add in Marie Antoinette.
Saint Nick
