  • Strip Club Part 2

Police shot a man on his wedding day as he was out late into the night leaving a strip club.  He was coming from his bachelor party.  The police fired about 50 rounds into his car.  They thought one of the men had a gun but apparently they didn’t find one yet.  Here is the link:  Link

This report got me thinking of a slightly related issue.

Should a guy really be going to a strip club when he is about to get married?

  • PETA

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) sent a letter to Anchorage First Free Methodist Church because of their use of animals in the church’s Nativity display.  The only problem is that the church doesn’t use animals in its nativity scene.  PETA fired off an email to the church mentioning “cruel treatment and danger” by having the animals play roles in the church’s nativity scene.  Here is the link:  Link

In the article I linked, PETA didn’t say sorry.  They just went on and on about how dangerous these scenes are to animals.  They even talked about animals that had been killed that had been used in these production.  (Still no word from PETA about the hamster and worm incident on my blog a few months ago).

Do you get the feeling that some of these people value animals more than they value people?

  • Age

This has come up in a handful of messages because I am turning 35 tomorrow.

Does this profile pic make me seem older than I am?

  • Hunting Season

We are in the middle of hunting season in a lot of states.  People are getting out during their favorite time of the year.  I personally could never shoot a deer.

Could you ever shoot a deer?

  • Wal-Mart Part 3

I mentioned before that Wal-Mart had reversed its decision from last year concerning the greeting of people who visit their store.  Wal-Mart used the “happy holidays” greeting last year in order to be more inclusive to those who were visiting their store.

But there were those who didn’t like the moving away from “Merry Christmas.”  So now Wal-Mart has told employees they may now use “Merry Christmas” as a greeting.  Here is the link:  Link

Wal-Mart has instructed its employees that they need to “use their best judgement” in which holiday greeting they will use with each customer.

So imagine you are a Wal-Mart employee.  This is your customer that has come to the register:

Would you give him the “Happy Holiday” greeting or the “Merry Christmas” greeting?

  • World Leaders Part 2

I was walking through the Katy Mills Mall tonight in Katy, Texas and one issue was just pressing on my mind.  It was in reference to two key leaders in our world.  Those two leaders are President George W. Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

It wasn’t the issue that the U.S. will have spent more time in Iraq than it spent in World War II as of tomorrow (Link).  It wasn’t the accusations that Putin was involved in the murder of ex-Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko (Link).

I think George W. Bush and Vladimir Putin as world leaders have more important issues facing them.

If you could have whatever you want for Christmas this year that cost under $1000, what would you want?

  • Deleting

Happy Deviant made me a birthday song.  You will enjoy it.  Just go to the top and hit audio and you can hear what she sent me.  My birthday is Sunday and I am celebrating by having people send me stuff.  Send an audio singing happy birthday or a picture or something you made.  I will post in on my site.  Make sure you get it to me by Saturday evening.

    Here we go:

We will try a hypothetical situation.  Pretend that you are the owner of thetheologianscafe.  Pretend you had someone comment on you.  Now pretend that you were spending time on xanga and you noticed a comment that person left on another site about you.  Pretend it was a negative comment.

Now pretend that the person came to your site one day and was the first commentor.  Pretend that he/she celebrated being number one on your site.

Would you delete the person’s number one comment or would you turn the other cheek?

  • Xanga Part 5

My birthday is coming up on Sunday.  So I am having people send me stuff.  If you would like to send me an audio of you singing Happy Birthday, I will post it on my audio blog.  Or you can also send me a picture or something you made to help me celebrate my birthday.  I will post it on my site in the photoblog section.

    Here we go:

I received a message via the message feature from Building_A_Mystery.  In the message box we talked back and forth about the “appeal” of xanga.  She told me it was ok to share her thoughts with you:

“You have a point. But I think part of the “different” appeal of xanga and say something like myspace… is this is a blog first, and a social network second. Whereas myspace is a social network first, that happens to have a blog. Both are okay… but some prefer one over the other.”

I actually agree that myspace is a social network first and a blog or other things second.  But I also believe that xanga is a social network first and a blog second.

Do you think xanga is a blog first or a social network first?

  • Youth Whistle

A new device has been invented that acts like a dog whistle but instead works on kids.  It was designed to drive away young people who are causing trouble.  It is called the “Mosquito” and it puts out a sound that is harmless but tends to impact those who are aged 25 and under.

The longer the sound is heard, the more annoying it will become.  It has been installed in a Theatre Square in order to drive away kids who loiter.  I was sent this link and post idea by papercup_alibi.  Here is the link:  Link  (I am sure if this works, some people will be putting the whistle on their xanga site).

Is there anything wrong with using a whistle that scares off people who are under 25?
