John Kerry
John Kerry is expected to announce today that he will not run for President in 2008. This sort of surprises me. I expected him to do well this time around.

Actually, no surprises to me. I didn’t like him at all.
Yes.
Not surprised at all.
Compared to Hillary and Obama, Kerry is such a has-been. He’d be crazy to run again. Gore is the only previous candidate who should even be dreaming of running.
I’m not really surprised… and for some reason, I could see him failing. Not that I want him to, but hey, unfortunately 50% of the country disagrees with me.
That sounded awful conceited. “Unfortunately.” Apologies.
Yeah! Because being he could really play the “I told you so” card heavily.
naw he had his chance…it’s john edwards time.
who would have voted for him? Remember his big gaffe when he tried to insult the president… something about, “if you’re not educated, you get stuck in iraq?” that didn’t go over well with too many people… and then he refused to apologise for it. his bid for presidency is done. He’s a stiff. he can’t compete with obama or hillary and he would only detract from his own party. it is better that he stays quiet and doesn’t draw attention to himself.
I don’t see why not, but whatever.
I am not surprised…Hillary probably had a little talk with him….
No – it never occurred to me that he might.
I think he should run just because you never know what will happen…besides, I’m not voting for him. I’m going to vote for Artie, the strongest man…in the world! (Surprisingly, as I was reading his Wikipedia entry, it said that in 2000, Artie had finished 5th in the Presidential Election…due to write in votes; next time, he won’t lose).
that doesn’t surprise me at all.
It is a little surprising. I would expect that he probably would not recieve much support from his party if he did run though. Since Hillary is running and almost all democrats have been waiting for her to run as a result of their belief that Bill was the greatest president of all time. Also, with Barack Obama running he probably would not recieve much support without Hillary’s candidacy because the dems are obsessed with their concept of all minorities are democrats they need to have a minority running. I would not be surprised if murders occur over this battle, I just hope that one of the deaths is Hillary.
I’m not terribly surprised. People who have lost an election don’t typically do well when they try to rerun.
i didn’t really think he would, actually. Maybe I’m a bit of a sore loser, but if you lose once, why keep trying? He’d have to have a whole new campaign, but he could’nt really change his views a whole lot because wouldn’t that seem like he was lying just to win??
…see this is why I don’t do poiltics…too much thinking for me!
*HUGS*
Not surprised. I think he knows its time for new blood on the Democratic ticket.
Not surprised – he is too white/male/professed Christian – to many strikes against him. Besides, he is probably afraid of an untimely death with Hilary in the mix.
im not really suprised at all. he didnt get elected then and probably wouldnt get elected now.
I wouldn’t have minded him running. He always looked better than Bush to me. I voted Kerry!
As a Republican, I have to say that I am disappointed. However, I believe his stunt last year in the middle of the elections (study hard or you will end up in Iraq) did him in. Too bad he’s not leaving his Senate race too.
No. The Dems. are going to throw everything behind Hillary. She is the only chance they have to put the Clintons back in the White House (remember how they refused to leave when Bush was elected? Can anyone say… dictatorship… ???)
I’m not surprised–if he couldn’t win last time, I can’t see him winning a second time around. Particularily with Clinton and Obama up against him.
Nope– I’m not surprised. But I am expecting a sneak attack from Al Gore… I think he might attempt an exploratory committee.
you’re just the first I have heard admit to be surprised.
yes.
Ummm? Mexicans yake most America jobs?
Why not a Mexican-American President?
Kerry?
You think he was going to run for President?
I doubt he has the money to again?
Does he look like Ross P to you?
Kerry again?
Fuck Kerry!
Not really, it’ll be bad enough with Hilary running.
I decided to run for President before I decided against. it.
Nope, not surprised, espeically since that Iraq comment in the college speech. That really killed all of his chances of running again.
I am indeed surprised by this. I would think after he lost last time he wouldn’t want to try again this time.
I’ll bet the troops aren’t surprised.
no. he is an elitist. definitely not “one of the people” as his party claims to be. plus he has as much real personality as the desk this computer is sitting on.
I didnt really think he would ever dream of re-running… Gore? Yes. Kerry? No.
“No. The Dems. are going to throw everything behind Hillary. She is the only chance they have to put the Clintons back in the White House (remember how they refused to leave when Bush was elected? Can anyone say… dictatorship… ???)”
I can! DICTATORSHIP! But who’s running the dictatorship? HMMM…
ryc: Thank you, Dan. I hope I meet you someday.
i’m not suprised by this at all. he knows he doesn’t have a chance against obama.
Fight Mental Illness Stigma
Lol it suprise me!
Well I don’t know. Just wait until tomorrow, he’ll change his tune.
i’m not.
i’m not suprised. i thought i heard him say that he wasn’t going to run for president in any more elections after he lost to Bush. um.. yeah. must not have heard him right.
I like that last comment, flip flop Kerry!
Nope I can’t stand Captain Hairdo….
Candy
After he opened his big mouth and wouldn’t own up to it, I’m not surprised at all. Idiot boy.
Uh. . .don’t keep track of politics so it doesn’t “surprise me” or not. . .
Just because I wasn’t for Bush didn’t mean I was for Kerry either.
I’m not Democrat OR Republican.
A lesser evil. . .is still an evil. . .
I say the Libertarian Socialist party. . .
or Green Party. . .
My secret hope is that Al Gore joins the fray. =)
If anything, An Inconvinent Truth and that TED Talk show that Gore isn’t a robot. Much easier to vote for a human being. =P
Oh, and his TED talk is hilarious, try the link: http://www.ted.com/tedtalks/tedtalksplayer.cfm?key=al_gore
Not really
yes and no. i think i could have done well, but at the same time with Obabma in the race hes a long shot. especially with that Bush joke gone wrong.
i don’t think he wants to be a new Nader
I’m not surprised. He’s been goofing up a lot lately, and considering his potential opposition, I didn’t see much of a chance for him to win. It’d just be another big loss for him.
Not really. I dont think he had a chance at winning anyway.
He has 2 strong potential Ds running for primary against him. He doesn’t want to get beat again. Not very surprising at all.
I am seriously hoping for a Gore-Obama ticket. That would be perfect. And I think they would win. People now realise that they went very wrong bak in 2000 with Bush. Gore represents the antithesis of all that has gone awry in our country. As for Obama, he compliments Gore: he’s young, fresh, a great speaker. It would also help Obama a lot because after 8 yers of being Veep, no one would think he was too young and too inexperienced to be the head honcho anymore, so he could run himself in 2016; instead of now where he may win the candidacy but never the presidency.
And yeah, I was certainly not surprised that Kerry won’t run. After all that trouble with the “joke’? He’s the black sheep of the Democratic party. He wouldn’t even win the candidacy.
Yes
Not at all.
I’m not. To me, he’s turned into more of a joke.
Yes.
I’m a little surprised he’s not running again, but not that surprised, considering the comment he made last year.
Bastard doesn’t want to lose again, that’s all.
Mmm…sort of, but not really. I think the Democrats have some gret people running this time around though, so they are certain to get a strong canidate without him.
For some reason I’m not suprised. I mean nothing against him… I’m just not
No surprise to me.
Not very surprised….
I would expect it as well.
Eh, I wasn’t surprised.
Are you kidding? Hillary probably pulled him behind the bleachers and threatened to steal his lunch money if he even considered it. Seriously, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Clintons had a little talk with him.
I am not surprised because I don’t really pay attention ( I know bad American. RYC: Now I have to check out the kids nudist camps, the things we learn on xanga. Yes, this was extreem, very interesting though.
DAN,
then…..you are smarter than me to have realized such a lesson. Im just now figuring that out.
lol…. from now on… im not going to act stupid.. but merely let everyone believe they are smarter than me.. so I, too, can get away with Eeeeverything.
Hum…kinda genius these girls/people…..
yep
No, I just deal with who is elected when the time comes.
I don’t really care about who our president is. Hey, as long as he/she can run our country, right?
-KrIsTiN-
I’m surprised..it seemed like he was going to.
not really. he hasn’t been in the news enough anyway
Yes… this’ll make the dem candidate interesting… with
Thank god I hated that guy he couldn’t make up his mind what he was going to do.
Not really, I guess.
I didnt even think about it that much…
Like you, I figure he had a pretty good chance, but then Hillary and Obama are pretty powerful foes.
L,r
I don’t care but Kerry, I care about Edwards, Clinton, Obama, and Gore.
Kerry was not on my agenda.
<3.
-Paige.
YES! haha Everyone I know is saying how there’s no sense in him even trying again. Oh wait… He may change his mind about running too! Keep the look out for that one! O_O
I’m glad he’s not running… if we Democrats have a hope of taking leadership we need to find someone who has charisma and attracts people… and who happens to have enough balls to call the republicans on all their shite.
John Kerry isn’t appealing as a president.
Yes.
Yes, I think you are.
Yes, you are the only one surprised.
Surprised? John Kerry already gave himself the image of a “Presidential Loser”.
I heard it was to brush up on his stand-up routine. He needs work on delivering punchlines.
I’m not surprised.
no. i don’t think anyone genuinely likes him. hillary clinton would do much better. perhaps he doesn’t want to compete with her in the primaries.
No.
Am I the only one who thought the “Go to college or go to Iraq” comment was funny? XD
This is why I could never be president of anything. I’d make too many un-PC remarks in an attempt to be sarcastic and witty and everyone would hate me. Whoops!
Hardly anyone understands sarcasm anymore. You take everything too seriously, people.
Yeah, I never liked the prick.
I’m more holding out for my (5th) main man, Alexander Hamilton, coming back to life and running for President. That was a great man, right there
nope, i’m not surprised at all. i am pretty sure that after his “do well in school or you will end up in iraq” comment screwed him over.
I’m very disappointed.
course not. he knew that that joke screwed his chances.
I hope Hillary does not get teh Democratic ticket but still Runs againt Obama. That way teh Republicans can skip the old idea of electing a mere mortal and we can finally directly elect jesus.
Thank god he isn’t going to run!!!!!! Man if him, hilary or gore runs and wins im moving out of this country. They would ruin America
John Kerry IS A FAG!!!
No. I guess I never really thought about it. I figured Edwards or Obama or Mrs. Clinton would go for it this time.
yes after what he said about the troops, he doesn’t deserve to be commander and chief
YAY!!
((yawn))
Where is that photo taken? Looks like the Florentine Ponte Vecchio
I’m not surprised that he isnt running again.
I’m not surprised, I wasn’t even expecting him to run anymore.
I’m not suprised, but I’m usually not suprised by much.
You expected him to do well in 2008? You are kidding aren’t you! LOL LOL It is amazing to me how Kerry can walk with only one foot on the ground since the other one is always in his mouth.
No. He’d never run against Hillary. He knows he’d get his ass kicked.
I thank God every day for small miracles like Kerry not running for President.
i’m not really surprised- but why is there arabic-looking writing on the sign behind him? is he in the middle east or somethin?
Wow, I never thought I’d say this, but Clinton (Bill, thatis) is by far the best candidate the Dems have given us in the last 15 years. Kerry and Gore are blown around by the latest poll. Hilary is enamored of socialist ideology that has already failed in other countries. Obama, well, I don’t know much about him yet, but I believe that his ties to Islam make him untenable as a real contender. No, it doesn’t surprise me that Kerry is not a viable candidate, but yes, it surprises me that he figured it out this early this time around. Come on Dems, give us a candidate who is a real patriot and is conservative fiscally and will support victory for our troops. You know someone who stands where the majority of Democrats and Republicans stand, and then we will actually have a real choice. Until then, for the sake of our country, we’ll take one like George Jr. anyday.
I’m not surprised.
You’re the only one.
Though, it would be great for Republicans if he did run . . .
– Cat
Kerry, Kusinich (sp?), Gore all has-beens. Out the door. Don’t waste our time. Thank you very much…have a nice day.
No. Gosh I had sort of forgotten about him. I agree with whalelover09. Except I have another idea….let’s move them out of the country!
I’m definitely not surprised. He knew he wouldn’t have a chance against Obama and Clinton.
Surprised but also relieved.
“Education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
-John Kerry
Somehow, I’m not surprised that he’s not running.
i’m not surprised.
Oh well, I am not too broken up over this news!
I actually liked him and am a bit disappointed. His ideas and notions seemed much better than those of Bush. But, I vote Hillary all the way!!!
i never liked him either
not surprised… i didn’t even think that he would run. i can’t think of anyone i’d like to win the presidential elections in the united states.
Not surprised at all
yeah, once you lose you dont tend to try again….
Yes, Dan. Yes, you are.
I’m not. He just isn’t presidential material I guess.
Yeah, pretty much.
No.
Dammit, Xanga’s being retarded!
Here’s what I was trying to say:
“No, there are plenty of other people who are surprised out there. I just don’t happen to be one of them.”
hes got a tough crowd, Hillary and Obama, i wouldnt run against them
john carry my ass down the road in an limo @#*& u
Yeah, you are the only one surprised.
I should hope Kerry doesn’t run for president, he was a very poor representative of the Democratic party the first time around. It was really disappointing to see that last election; there was no real choice for the people – one bad leader or another. Being Canadian, I can’t vote for a president, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting a better one than George Bush.
