  • Blasphemy Challenge

A group is trying to get people to commit blasphemy against God.

They are asking people to upload a video on youtube and blasphemy God on the video.  The person must say somewhere in the video “I deny the Holy Spirit.”

They are basing it on a Bible verse in Mark 3:29 that says ”Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin.”

They then are sent a free DVD called The God Who Wasn’t There

They want atheist to put it all on the line and send their souls to hell or defy what they call a superstition.  Here is the link:  Link  Here is an example of a girl committing the blasphemy:  Link

If you were offered $1000, would you commit blasphemy on youtube?

  • That’s disgusting . . .

  • No! Of course not!

  • absolutely not.

    that is perverse and disgusting

and im sad for those who would do it

  • I’ve seen that site. Not for any amount of money, thanks.

  • It’s the 21st century version of the Mark of the Beast.

  • absolutely not.

Honestly, I don’t see how this is any different than muslims who bribe children with candy to convert to Islam. I guess the biggest difference is that when muslims try to walk away from Islam, they get killed.

  • yes. I would even without the 1000 bucks.

  • But yeah, I would take the thousand.

  • I would do it for free if I didn’t plan on being a teacher when I get out of college, but I won’t put my face on anything that I think could be harmful to my future some day. :P

  • OMG I WAS FIRST!

    -dies-

  • No, sir.

  • No amount of money.

  • If you don’t believe in it in the first place, it’s basically a free 1000$ in your viewpoint. The only reason not to is because it offends other people.

No, I don’t think I’d do that. But if you don’t believe in the Bible in the first place, it doesn’t make sense to call it so bad anyway. It’s just a different point of view…

  • Well, let me rephrase that, I wouldn’t do it for free just to do it because I don’t care whether other people believe in God, or fear God. I don’t care to prove to anyone that I don’t believe in the words of The Bible.

I don’t completely deny existance of God. However, if someone came up to me with a camera and said “Do you deny the holy spirit?” I’d say “In short, yes.” And if I got a 1000 dollars for it, more power to me! :P

  • that is the most terrible thing I’ve ever seen…

they don’t even know what they’re doing.

  • I might even do it for less. But then again, it would be kind of an asshole thing to do. I’d rather be a quiet, humble Atheist that doesn’t insult Christians for attention.

  • honostly, this thing isn’t as horrible as people seem to be making it out to be so far. It’s people stating their beliefs pretty much. Christians are always saying how they believe in God, but they always seem to throw a fit when someone says they deny the existance of God. (from my experience)

Don’t make such a big deal of it.

  • No, it is ignorant. I may be of a different religion than that of which follows God, but I hold respect for any other religion. It makes me sad to see people mock religions on such a scale, especially for money.

  • Hell no, I never ever would do that.

    Candy

  • hmm.. yes =]

  • No.Not for anything.

  • that’s like one definite thing that takes balls balls balls. i would have elaborated on my previous comment but my text was white on white?? i couldn’t see. anywho, i really only like old roman catholiscism and for asthetic purposes mainly. but on second thought i probably definitely don’t have those kinds of hell-facing guts of the people who would say that for money.

  • They’re declaring their faith.
    Meh.
    I wouldn’t do that though.

  • holy crap tibb_a_dee got first comment and then died! Dan what the heck’s going on here?! As far as blaspheming against the holy spirit, it’s just not possible for me.

  • I heard about that.

I also heard that people are retaliating (sp?) and putting up things that says they are a Christian.

And no, I wouldn’t. My God is worth MORE than money could EVER give me.

  • Why is it that it is always ok to mock and blast Christians?

If someone paid people to go on the internet and say “All Mohammed ever did was teach people how to kill people and blow themselves up,” there would be an international outcry. Not only that, every person who videotaped themselves saying that would be hunted down and killed.

It is ridiculous how people go so far out of their way to insult and humiliate Christians. Who is being intolerant now?

  • Didn’t Christians force others to convert or die way back when? I believe the add campaign was “Convert or Die… motherfucker”.

  • no PERIOD

  • I’m an atheist– so I’d have nothing to lose but my pride (partaking in something so very stupid). Even then, it’s a coin toss for me.

  • whoa!  who would offer such a thing?  I don’t go to church now but I wouldn’t do such a thing.  Although it is their own believe / actions, it is kind of disrespectful to the religion.

  • The amplified bible states:

But whoever speaks abusively against or maliciously misrepresents the Holy Spirit can never get forgiveness, but is guilty of and is in the grasp of [i]an everlasting trespass.

I am a christian and firmly believe this will condemn you to hell ONLY if it is from the heart and the persons soul is denying our living Lord. God sees our hearts and knows where we are coming from when we speak. Just as we must be in our ‘right and cognitive mind’ when we write a will, so we have to be to rebuke the Living God. We must be fully aware of our actions. A non-christian is unaware of the consequences because he is not filled with the spirit. If a christian denies the Living God in a ‘right and cognitive state of mind’, yes, he is condemned to hell.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord….

  • That’s awful. I wouldn’t do it at all, and I could use the money.

Unless I finked them out by saying something like “I deny [that] the Holy Spirit would appreciate me making this video”.

This believer is too smart for them, HA!

  • ha. i’d do it for free.

  • why do these athesists always know Bible verses better than the believers?

  • *did NOT watch video* NOO!!!!!!!! You couldn’t pay me ALL the money in the WORLD to do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And get paid for something that I don’t care if people know or not?

I dunno. I don’t believe in God, but I don’t think I’d do something stupid like take money just to show my face on youtube saying it.

  • Honestly, I think the people that go up to Christians/Catholics and go “HURR HURR STOP IMPOSING UR RELIGIONZ ON ME PLZ I AM AN ATHEIST AND I HAVE A DUAL ROLE AS AN ASSHOLE TOO” are idiots.

I’m an Atheist myself and I think the people in those videos are pretentious retards that think they are THE high holy fuck.

    -makes entry about this-

  • But maybe.
    I AM pretty broke.

  • I would for 5$

  • No. That’s ridiculous, and sad. Who comes up with this stuff? More, who wants to start somthing like that. Even if you’re not a christian, you shouldn’t disrespect the religion.

  • time to choose a side – i don’t need to go there to see it (boost ratings)- it’s all around

  • hahahaha

oh totally. I’d do it for a dollar.

  • Even if someone is an atheist why participate in that sort of a challenge? It goes to show no matter what belief system, ignorance is everywhere.

  • Look how young and stupid those people are…they’re gonna regret it someday.  Morons.

I’d never do that, because that’s how I roll.

  • Holy crap! That’s horrible… >< Noo, don’t! Ahh man! V_V

Yes, I’m “throwing a fit” because I don’t like to see people going to Hell, usually!

    I’ma keel over. again XD…wow….. : (

  • nope.

  • Nope. Sounds like a scam.

  • to whoever made the comment about muslims, i believe your argument is flawed.  Who has their fones tapped? muslims.  Who has probably the most nissunderstood religion? muslims. and they are the at the bottom of all mockery and prejudice. You just made a fine example of that

Everyone needs to be more tolerant of others. Muslims. Christians. Athiests. Honestly.  Does someone putting thier face on youtube hurt anybody?  The athiests arent holding a gun to ur head and making you convert.  It is their choice. Isnt that what america’s all about? If people condemn others for their own personal actions, then tell me, how are you living up to american morale of individual pursuit of happiness. If being athiest on youtube makes them happy, then so be it.  Who are we to condemn them for their own choice.

  • Ok, guys, Jesus is about LOVE! Don’t be hatin’ like that! Seriously… that’s really bad

  • as others have said, not for any amount of money.

  • No, not because it’s “an unforgivable sin” which there’s been alot of debate about by the way, but because I’m a Christian and stand by my beliefs. If my beliefs can be bought, then are they any good in the first place?

  • This is so dumb. For Christians, it should not matter that these people don’t believe. If the Christian God and the Bible are “right” then these people will “get it” in the end anyway. What’s the purpose of getting people to say something online that they probably say already among friends (and therefore are already “blasphemizing” against God)?

Perhaps this group should instead be focusing on the teachings of Jesus… you know, all that love thy neighbor and do good for others crap.

  • And deny myself the riches of Heaven? No way.

  • It DOES matter..a lot.. It really freaks me out that these people are doing that. I’m not insulted, just worried… but yeah..

  • NO.

    goodness gracious. no.

    The Lord is my everything.

it saddens me that people think that the bible is some sort of a joke.

  • no thats so stupid

  • “It makes me sad to see people mock religions on such a scale, especially for money.”
    Oh?

    http://www.godhatesfags.com/main/index.html

  • Also, the point of this program is not to announce hatred or ignorance.
In essence, it is a game of Russian Roulette. Those participating are wagering their chance at an afterlife.

  • no…1000 dollars isnt that much. especially for going to hell.

    I agree.

  • Even if my life, the lives of my children, the lives of all of America depended on it I would never make a statement like that.  There is nothing on this earth of any value more than my relationship with the Lord.  Those who said no on this post can know that this may be their very last time to turn to Christ and if they do not repent they will live in eternal damnation.  They may think this is a trite question but it is an invitation of the utmost importance.  Thanks for this post Dan.  Prayers of salvation, renewed Holy Spirit fire in those who have backslidden and a renewed spirit of evangelism for those who are in the Kingdom of God.  This is a time to wake up!!!

  • No and what an ignorent reading of that verse, if they think they are commiting the unforgivable sin

  • I would. I’d do it for free too.

  • There is NO WAY that I would blaspheme the Holy Spirit!  No one could pay me enough money. People aren’t taking it seriously.  Do not mess around with God.  He’s talking ETERNITY here.

  • oh no no no no

umm if an athiest is gonna put in on the line and defy the myth why wouldnt they praise God just in case instead of blasphemy him…..just in case??

  • heck no!! what about that verse that says “if you deny me before men, I will deny you before my Father”?

  • oh and in case anyone was wondering, i an diest (means i believe that god made us who we are but leaves the world to do its own bidding. ben franklin was one), but i’d still never do it.

  • What at DUMB thing………..Dan you may have outdid yourself with this bit of research.

  • okay, that’s just so retarded..

  • Sure. I don’t believe in God anyways.

  • nope, never. you could offer me millions, my soul can’t be sold! Where is all the media uproar at the bigotry against Christians?

  • Isn’t teh beleif that we dont need a God or that there is not one A beleif? After all the believe that you should live your life their way. The differnece is: If u believe in a Religion With a God and you are right u go to Heaven. If u are then wrong u wont know it. Now for the blashphemers, if they are wrong then its hell. If they are right, they wont know it.

  • I choose Jesus – keep your cash

  • yea probably…cause I’m not a christian and I dont’ believe in god

  • NO! That’s… awful. Devestating. Literally, I can’t describe in words. How could they do that? They are saying that even if there is a hell, they want to go there. but think about it another way.

I believe in god. But if, IF and im not saying there isn’t but if, there wasn’t a god, wouldn’t it be great to live life like a christian? Spending each and every day looking forward to the next, and living by the bible, until the one day comes wehre all the pieces fall into place. But the good news that day comes, and there is a God and a Heaven

  • I might not be religious but I’m definitely completely against the idea of swearing myself to the faith of atheism.
    -David

  • I will definitely deny a God who doesn’t exist anyway for a thousand bucks.

  • the people who are asking those to do such a sin are in danger of greater sin…leading someone to sin willfully (these people running the show know it is considered a sin) especially a sin which could lead to death.

the people reading are doing it out of ignorance and greed…

saddens my heart for all those involved

  • No way.

I lol’d really hard. I don’t believe “Christ” would hurl me down to the fire and brimstone just because I don’t share the same opinion as those fantastic Christians. You don’t need to have a religion to be a kind person, and if your “God” would do that to me, he isn’t as fantastic and forgiving as Bible thumpers like to claim.

“last time to turn to Christ”? How the hell do you know?

  • it’s just really stupid, I wouldn’t want to be known for that, my beliefs are private.

I don’t want to be in the paper or something for “Girl makes 1000 dollars in blasphemy challenge”
People wouldn’t stop trying to convert me then

  • My thing is if they are atheist why do they give a SH!!? I mean you saying you deny something you don’t believe in and putting it on the net achieves WHAT purpose??

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pcb-cOFHrec this guy had an interesting take on it all. But alas you can whole heartedly believe in something and be sincere about it and STILL be DEAD and WRONG!!!

I’d like to see the stats though on how many people die in the name, for the name and because of the name of JESUS Christ….Im sure those stats are much lower than the stats of deaths due to aids, murder or false religions in general….

I’m glad Jesus is loving and forgiving because if it were me? I’d be laughing at these poor souls as they entered into what they think they want to go to but then realize the grave mistake they made in being stupid and beliving the lies of the DEVIL!

  • I’D DO IT FOR FREE

  • Nope, wouldn’t do it.

  • At least it is getting people to think about religion and their beliefs. I think it points out that you are either on God’s team or the devil’s and that this life is a choice. You might as well be aware of the choice you are making and endorse it whole heartedly. I am with the preacher who was interviewed though. no one is beyond the forgiveness of God.

  • *shakes head*
thats not silly, cuz thatda be lighthearted, this is just plain stupid. wrong…

  • No. I mean first, that’s stupid, and second, obviously they have no idea what blasphemey of the Holy Spirit really is. They really have to stoop that low to get a rise out of people? Maybe they need to find something better to do with their time.

  • nope… 1000 dollars, quite tempting… but my faith is worth exponentially more than that to me, so my answer is hell frikkin NO!

  • Judgement day:

“So, it says here that you denied me for a thousand dollars…”

“Well, God, there is a perfectally reasonable expl…”

    *Burned*

    HELL no I wouldn’t.

  • Never. I have the fear of God!

  • For $1000??  Of course!

  • Oh, my, goodness..

For some reason, that just REALLY REALLY hit me.. In a “How stupid are they!?” type of way.

And no. I wouldn’t do it even for $10,000.

  • 1000 bucks is nothing in comparison to a false promise of eternal life.

  • Already did Dan.

    Technicolor.

  • I think that’s a misinterpretation of scripture but I am entirely disgusted with the people who are actively attempting to send people to hell and bypass the offer of salvation in Yeshua the Christ.

    very sad

  • Like what one preacher said…these people are not commiting blasphemy in a whole sense. commiting blasphemy is more then just saying it on an absurd site like youtube.

But to answer your question I wouldn’t

  •  I’m going include this in my book

  • Sure. It’s $1,000… Even without the money, I would. I don’t believe in god anyway.

  • these people on you tube are like a lot of losers on youtube, they want attention and this whatever it is–is their way of getting attention.

  • I can do it right now for free.

  • I’m pretty sure that it’s talking about when a Christian who has the Holy Spirit in their lives (atheist…ya don’t got it.) deny the Holy Spirit. I’m going to do more research on the subject though.

    Oh and also….

I get where you’re coming from, and I would totally agree with you if i were atheist. It really doesn’t seem like that big of a deal.
But, there’s a catch. I’m not. I have put my hope in Christ. Offended by this? by no means. It’s eternity that matters to us. We fear, not for our faith or religion, but the souls of everyone. You see… as often as so many “Christians” act like complete hypocrites and arrogant jerks… the true message of Christ is that we are to help people find Him, and the hope and salvation that we have. So to many, this is a big deal… not because of us, but because we love…as Christ said to love… and we are crying, not for us, but for the lost.

I laughed so I hard I just snorted like a pig!

  • To the people who think we’re going to go to hell for saying it:

Do you ever stop to think that some people don’t believe in religions (or God)? That to some people religion is just one huge joke brought upon by the higher classes to keep the peasants in line? That some people think that saying that little phrase means nothing because they don’t believe in your God?

  • I’m technically a Christian btw

  • how stupid do you have to be to do such a thing?

  • Technically Christian is the same as technically fully decapitated, you either are, or you aren’t… True Christianity has no “technically” or “sorta”

With that said. I totally agree with Chesty620. I think many Christians don’t realize that.
However, whether you believe or not is inconciquencle to the Great commission. We are to reach as many people as will listen with the saving message of Christ. The gospel. (which translates “good news”.

    Livin’ free in Christ,
    Heath

  • Well, I’ve been known to do it for free, but not on YouTube.

$1,000 doesn’t quite cut it for me, personally. Multiply that amount by $1,000 and I might consider it.

  • How immature. I’m sure these same people want us to respect them and their religion-or lack thereof, whichever it may be-and yet can’t show the same courtesy to others.

And honestly, I come from the school of thought that believes it takes more than words to commit blasphemy against God. Remember Peter? Didn’t he deny Christ? And yet look where he ended up. I could go off on a tangent about that but what I’m trying to say is they clearly know nothing about theology or the Bible. Which shows even more ignorance on their part.

  • and look it’s Penn Jillette from Penn and Teller!

  • Yes! I knew it’d make it on here. I’m glad I message’d you about it.

    For $1,000? Yeah, probably.

  • I am in full support of any peaceful banding together of atheists. Statistically speaking, we represent the majority of the world. Naturally, I would like to see something on a larger scale, but this is nonetheless a heartening sight.

Those who say this is an act of hate against Christians, consider this: If a large group of Christians banded together to post videos saying that they believed in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, it would put atheists in the same position. Naturally an atheist making the same argument many Christians on your page have made would not be taken seriously, just as the comments already posted should be regarded as ridiculous.

  • I would give up my life before blaspheming any part of God.

Does this mean it’s constitutional for me to make a youtube saying that atheists are stupid and are going to hell? Oh, then I might offend someone. Good grief, don’t they think maybe the Christians are offended by this stuff? I’m not really offended because I expect it, but these people are using circular reasoning.

  • AliciaKristen84:

Peter did not deny Christ, he denied knowing Christ. There is a big difference.

  • No. I’m still hoping that God exists.

  • never

  • Well.. it doesn’t quite go against my religious beliefs, but I still wouldn’t do it. The superstitious part of me would be nervous for a long time after. Kind of silly, since God knows what we say and do anyhow, whether we videotape it or not.

  • You’ll never know until you offer me 1000.00 Dan. Are you?

  • BebstersBlog2:

I’ll avoid the theological discussions, but I still stand by what I said.

  • so far I’ve watched about 10% of all of the responses, and some responses to the responses.
and I have to say that the responses from the Atheists, are a LOT more eloquent and less aggressive than the Christian responses to the Atheists.

  • FREEdom of Religion? That’s priceless!

  • Yes…I’m terrible. :( I would apologize later.

  • I’m an atheist, but no, I don’t think I would do that. I respect people of other religions, and I hope to get the same respect in return.

  • No. That’s pathetic. =( I feel sad.

Father, forgive them for they don’t know what they’re doing…v_v.

  • For $1000? Hell yes.

  • I burst out laughing when I read that! It’s very narrow…I mean, what if you really don’t believe in the catholic verson of the holy spirit, but are hindu or some other religion that has a completely different point of view. Do you still go to hell or is it canceled out because you ain’t catholic?

    ’nuff said….

  • *laughs* Now that I think about this again, I’m starting to see how funny this is.

These people seriously think they have “the ultimate wager”? They think that’s going to send them to Hell?

Wow…talk about ignorance. xD Oh foolish people, so foolish.

  • It’s probably offending alot of [presumably] nice people for no real, discernible reason though. And giving atheists a bad [worse] name in some circles. Honestly, that’s not something I can make myself care much about though.

  • How truly pathetic, in every sense of the word.

These guys are (and should be called from now on) militant atheistic fundamentalists. They really have exactly the blind faith, arrogance, and hateful tactics that they despise others for having.

I’ll say that phrase though: “I deny the Holy Spirit will stop working in the lives of these people just because they sin in ignorance.” Ha! Said it; now send me my $1,000 and I will donate it to Answers in Genesis!

  • I dont consider these people “ignorant” because they do not share and fear the same beliefs as Christians. What do they have to fear if they *gasp* don’t believe what you believe?

Calling them ignorant is calling yourself ignorant.

  • Does this mean it’s constitutional for me to make a youtube saying that atheists are stupid and are going to hell? Oh, then I might offend someone. Good grief, don’t they think maybe the Christians are offended by this stuff? I’m not really offended because I expect it, but these people are using circular reasoning.
    Posted 1/29/2007 6:32 PM by BebstersBlog2

In my experience, most atheists are a little more thick-skinned than most Christians. I’m pretty sure it’ll be fine if you go ahead and post a video like you described. I’m sure there are plenty of them out there already, and I’ve been told I’m going to hell for not believing by a variety of Christians face-to-face. It’s never bothered me before. So – go ahead.
And please note that it’s PERFECTLY constitutional to offend people. The conservatives and religious right haven’t signed that one away yet.

  • No freakin way. Never. Ever.

  • no.  why would i deny my source of life?

  • i wouldn’t do it for anything. that’s just wrong.

  • Ignorance = lack of knowledge. They clearly don’t fully understand what they are talking about, therefore, they = ignorant. It’s not an insult, it’s a statement of truth. Everyone is ignorant about something.

  • (I mean, not ignorant people in general, just about this topic, if that wasn’t clear, which I hope it was)

  • eternal life/1000 bucks i’ll spend on things that’ll wither away. hmm, I think I’ll take eternal life…

  • I say “ignorance” not because I think they’re necessarily stupid (that’s as may be) but because they don’t know the Holy Spirit they think they are blaspheming. Kind of like someone who insults me without having met me– you don’t know who you’re talking about!

As Jesus said about some similar people, “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.

Also because they are misunderstanding Scripture if they think pronouncing that phrase by itself constitutes the Unpardonable Sin. Check the context.

  • no.I think that’s pretty messed up that people need to draw attention to themselves in such an awful way..

    gina

  • The thing is, these people don’t think they’re committing blasphemy, they’re just proclaiming that they don’t believe in the Holy Spirit.  What’s the difference between this or, say, a bunch of Christians making a video saying “I don’t believe in Vishnu!” ?  Other than the fact that it’s an “unforgivable sin”.  Haaaah.

    OJesuslovesyousomuch’s comment is scary.

  • Hell no.

    I mean no. Just no.

  • Personally i think that people have the freedom to say what they want about whatever issue. If they want to say that they deny the Holy Spirit then that is their own personal choice. And if they want the world to hear that then that’s ok. The religious are outspoken and their views are constantly made clear. So why should those who don’t believe in God have to keep their mouths shut?

Given the choice and the money I wouldn’t put that up on youtube or any website, but if one asked me of my views I would tell them. It’s the same thing really.

  • Oh, that makes me feel sick to my stomach.  I won’t watch the video…it’s too much for me.  It makes me so sad for our Father.  I can’t imagine what it would feel like to have your children deny you in such a way.  It must hurt pretty bad.

So…no…I wouldn’t.  It’s just money…and my faith is worth more than $1000.  In fact, it is truly without price.

  • I wouldn’t do it, but I don’t think this is what Jesus had in mind, anyway.

  • Probably, because people shouldn’t take that stuff seriously anyway. You can’t control what other people choose to think, and if you don’t agree with it, don’t watch it.

  • um, no thanks. i’ll take eternal life over $1000 any day.

  • I say “ignorance” not because I think they’re necessarily stupid (that’s as may be) but because they don’t know the Holy Spirit they think they are blaspheming. Kind of like someone who insults me without having met me– you don’t know who you’re talking about!
As Jesus said about some similar people, “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.”
Also because they are misunderstanding Scripture if they think pronouncing that phrase by itself constitutes the Unpardonable Sin. Check the context.

Do you deny the existence of the Invisible Pink Unicorns [Blessed Be Their Holy Hooves]?
“Invisible Pink Unicorns are beings of great spiritual power. We know this because they are capable of being invisible and pink at the same time. Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can’t see them.”
If you deny the existence of the IPUs because you don’t believe in them, doesn’t that make you ignorant of them? So – you obviously just don’t know what your talking about when you deny them and your opinion should be disregarded. I guess it’s impossible for them not to be real!

  • Alright I don’t believe or God or anything to do with God, and I noticed that a lot of people who posted are really really into their faith. None of you are afraid to state your views, so why should atheists fear stating their own views. America is haven for people escaping so many things, religious persecution being one of them. So why is it that in this supposedly free country that people are still getting persecuted only because they don’t hold the same values that you guys do. Why is it not ok to hold no belief in God? Why is that if you don’t believe in God you are condemned to the depths of hell? People shouldn’t be pressed to follow any certain religion, if one has their own beliefs let them be. We shouldn’t hate someone because they spoke their mind, we shouldn’t enforce christianity on everyone. It’s not right. It’s not what America stands for. Take a look around, there’s a variety of religions out there, atheism is, in some sense, a form of religion. It’s what people believe. Who are we to hate someone merely because they don’t believe in God. If you posted a video on youtube announcing your love for God no one would hate you for that, so please tell me … why is it ok to hate someone who doesn’t believe in God but not ok to hate someone who does believe in God?

  • that is sick… just plain sick.
there is also a little something called misinterpretation, but i’m not an expert on that.

i don’t know what kind of person would sell their soul for $1000…

  • No.
But I have my own opinions on the “unforgivable sin”. Just because those people say “I deny the Holy Spirit” doesn’t mean that they are automatically damned.

  • thats wrong on so many levels….

  • and in answer to twinnie, is anybody on here confessing hatred for atheists? Cuz I didn’t notice that.

  • Um, no… I ‘love’ how you can’t offend any religion EXCEPT Christianity… but if you say anything about any other religion, you are looked down upon and hated… but it’s so cool to diss Christianity?… I seriously hate people…

  • That’s absolutely apalling.

No money is worth denying the Holy Spirit.

They obviously have lots of time on their hands.

  • shit, id do it for nothing

  • In response to Dennis_the_Peasant… I guess I kind of took that out of proportion, atheists aren’t hated but religion is constantly pressed upon them. I’ve had multiple people press me about religion and tell me to go to church. I’ve had many that have told me God is only the way to go. It’s that kind of thing that makes people want to speak out against religion and God

  • i mean, if im not a christian ive already condemned myself. apparently god forgives you and loves you unconditionaly, i dont see how these two themes balance out.

    Derek

  • Yes. But mainly because I don’t believe in the Christian God. If I did, then I don’t think I would.

  • i don’t know what kind of person would sell their soul for $1000…
Posted 1/29/2007 7:44 PM by THEMEformurder

Someone who believes your superstitious and there is no such thing as selling their soul. In fact, I don’t even believe in souls.
I do believe that virtually every form of religion in today’s world is amoral and destructive.

  • No, not at all. I also find it kind of ironic that this is your post today, considering my long post yesterday about my faith, of all things, lol. I think this whole thing is pretty dumb; most of the people are just looking for their fifteen minutes of fame. I did think, however, that the last line of the article, “God could not be reached for comment,” was a bit snarky and not really necessary.

  • I’m technically a Christian btw
    Posted 1/29/2007 6:19 PM by Chesty620

There’s no such thing as technically a Christian. Either you’ve made the choice or you haven’t.

As for the question, no. Even if I wasn’t a Christian. It’s that kind of in-your-face, don’t-give-a-crap mentality that gives atheists in general a bad name. Other people have pointed this out, but isn’t it hypocritical in the extreme to preach tolerance of all religions and then turn around and purposefully insult Christianity? I don’t insult your religion, or lack of one. I might say you’re wrong and explain where I stand on the matter, but I’m not going to try to get you upset.

  • If you can’t catch the sarcasm in that video – even with the “Absolutely unbelievable!” line, you ought to get your eyes checked. Note that it’s inspired by Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins.
And if you really believe that video was a Christian argument – they’re worse off than I thought.

  • If a little kid sticks his tongue out at you, are you really going to be mad and outraged? *grin* C’mon, people. Those atheists haven’t the slightest idea what they’re talking about. Maybe an idea, but nothing concrete. Doesn’t it seem like they just want to show off?

“Honestly, I think the people that go up to Christians/Catholics and go “HURR HURR STOP IMPOSING UR RELIGIONZ ON ME PLZ I AM AN ATHEIST AND I HAVE A DUAL ROLE AS AN ASSHOLE TOO” are idiots.

I’m an Atheist myself and I think the people in those videos are pretentious retards that think they are THE high holy fuck.”
    Posted 1/29/2007 4:35 PM by xmusic_or_miseryx

Thanks. I agree. I think that if a Christian were showing off his belief and saying how he was right and the rest were not, he’d be an idiot too.

“I lol’d really hard.

Posted 1/29/2007 5:38 PM by LinkMaster”

I don’t care about your opinion. The truth is there whether you believe it or not. And you’ll know. Aren’t you the one who’s offended now? And why are all Christians “bible thumpers”? I don’t ask, out of nowhere, for someone to become a Christian.

“I am in full support of any peaceful banding together of atheists. Statistically speaking, we represent the majority of the world.”
    Posted 1/29/2007 6:31 PM by Lord_Lady

…I think someone needs to do some research.

“Those who say this is an act of hate against Christians, consider this: If a large group of Christians banded together to post videos saying that they believed in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, it would put atheists in the same position. Naturally an atheist making the same argument many Christians on your page have made would not be taken seriously, just as the comments already posted should be regarded as ridiculous.
    Posted 1/29/2007 6:31 PM by Lord_Lady”

Uhhhh, NO. These atheists are calling religion (what the heck is religion?) and the people who believe in a God stupid, ignorant, barbarous, and so forth. If Christians – not ‘technically’ Christians – posted a video saying they believed in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, I’m quite sure they wouldn’t undermine atheists. All they’d be stating is what they believe. A lot of these youtube atheists go a lot further.

“why is it ok to hate someone who doesn’t believe in God but not ok to hate someone who does believe in God?

  • no. i think thats very sad

  • Do I even need the money for motivation? I think not.

I’d pay to do that, actually.

  • $1000 for stating my beliefs… Free money. Still, the Christian’s have achieved their main goal on me: I’m pretty freakin afraid of Hell. I would’ve done that if the idea wasn’t that gruesome. When I start reading up on other religions, however, Hell will probably seem liek child’s play

  • Watch the sequel to the first video. It touches on God not writing the Bible a couple times. There’s a link at the top of the page of the first video.

  • “Misinterpretation!” calls abound! Are you changing the statements in your Holy Book to make sure you’re right? I think you are! I mean, that’s what it says: “Deny the Holy Spirit, and you’re fucked for eternity.” It’s not misinterpretation; it’s blatent spitting-in-your-face attitude.

It’s more because “any other religion” makes up about 4% of the American population. EVERYONE is a demomination of Christianity. Just about everyone

  • Absolutely not. That’s so sick and wrong.

  • As much of an athiest as I am, I’ve got nothing against God.. and I don’t wanna permanently fuck up a relationship with him.. you never know what I might feel in the future.

  • I’d feel way too bad about it.

  • I’ve also come to notice that a lot of people have said that that’s just sick… but how is it sick? They don’t believe in God, Heaven, or Hell so really they’re not saying anything blasphemous. If you deny the Holy Spirit then say it you shouldn’t have to hide, fearing what some might say.

Would it be sick if a Christian posted a video stating their love for God? No it wouldn’t. So why exactly is it sick to say that they deny the Holy Spirit?

^_^ Ah, reason, eh? I’m 100% sure God exists. Nah, I like it where I am, thanks.
It says in the bible that a man who has long hair ought to die. Not everything’s literal, y’know.
The people who saw and were with Jesus Christ some 2000 years ago passed down what they believed in, both by word and by mouth. I trust them.
Question: Why, after 2000 years, would a billion of the population still believe in something that was completely false?

  • Americans are so fucking stupid.

  • Question: Why, after 2000 years, would a billion of the population still believe in something that was completely false?
    Posted 1/29/2007 8:38 PM by Tallon5

Security blanket. If God exists then there’s something better waiting for you and you aren’t forced to confront reality. Also, it’s human nature to feel a need to “belong” to something, and religion provides that.

  • Ryoma136, atheists are pulling things out of context of the Bible, believing that they’ve got it all figured out. But you know, even Christians do that against other Christians. It says in the Bible that the Bible should not be privately interpreted. That’s why even among Christians, there’s disagreements…but there’s only one truth. What is it? Catholic doctrine. Why? The Holy Spirit prevents error from entering it. This isn’t meant to start an argument or discussion, by the way.

Only one thing can be true. There either is a God, or there isn’t. I chose to believe there is a God – therefore, I’m a theist. Now out of all the “religions” I can choose, I want a personal God. So I can choose Judaism, Christianity, or Islam. Now going to Jesus Christ, who is the founder of Christianity. He was either a liar and a madman, a grand hoaxer, or the Son of God. I chose to believe he is the Son of God.

    Anyways. Must go do homework.

  • Sure!
Because I’m an athiest so I don’t care xD

So…all theists are “out of it”. They don’t know what reality is. Okay…Please, I’m not that stupid.

Yeah, it’s in human nature. So by Occam’s Razor, why not accept it? It’s more simple, right?

  • Is it even possible to blaspheme against something that you don’t even think exists?

    If so, HELL YES.

  • Yes. God doesn’t care and I would give the money to a good cause.

The person after you explained it. But still, if you want to take some of it as literal and others as metaphorical, how do you choose? Whatever you like? I don’t think that works out.

Also, I don’t trust the words of a man on something as serious as “the Book”. Why should I trust the word of man? God says that a few times. It is only His word that is true. I haven’t heard any of it.

What about the Indians in America? I trust them. They passed things by word of mouth. All religions have something going for them. But they only have a piece of the puzzle, and think it’s the whole

The Bible is right because it says it’s right? And, beaing a Catholic, I say this: Catholic doctrine sucks

  • Fuck yes, it’s $1000 and I’m already one of the most blasphemous people I know! Damn, I could make a career out of it.

  • Sure. Hell, I’d do it for $5.

  • –Haha! I just glanced at the artical…”God could not be reached for comment” Mwahahahaha… Haha!

  • how do you choose? Whatever you like?

The Holy Spirit chooses through people. People such as bishops and the pope. Like I said, look at the Church doctrine.

I don’t think that works out. Also, I don’t trust the words of a man on something as serious as “the Book”.

You are correct and it is pointless to argue, many atheists have taken it much further than it needs to go, but can’t the same be said for many Christians as well?

According to Kirstiediego on Youtube atheists should be sure to “have fun burning in Hell! i hope you get shot so you can get there faster!! hope you like it shit heads! ”

Of course, I realize that this is an unfair representation of many Christians, such as yourself. However, I bring it up in the hope that you will realize that the same applies to atheists.

Furthermore, I think that you missed the point of my argument. You imply that somehow stating my disbelief in God is more of an attack than you’re assertion that He exists. I fail to see how a simple statement of either of our beliefs becomes offensive. If you want to tell me about your love for God, so be it. If I tell you that I do no believe in Him, it shouldn’t bother you. After all, according to you, I am incorrect.

My own religion has lasted way before yours did. So which is the real “truth”? Does your threat that I will “know” the truth offend me? Not in the slightest.

  • I hope that I would never do that and I do not understand the point of it.

  • So you agree that the Bible is circular logic, making it false as a philosophical argument (Circular logic is considered a fallacy. As is the idea that “If a billion people believe it, it has to be right” argument you pulled a while ago. Three men make a tiger. Or in this case, a billion)

Well, I had to clarify the “Bible-thumper” thing for you because you went and stuck the nasty little world “all” in there. Watch yourself, you make yourself argumentative that way.

If a “truth” does exist, you don’t know it and you won’t know it. Don’t assume that you do. Hinduism can be the truth. Judaism can be the truth. Christianity is the sole truth? Yeah, okay. Arrogance.

I read the Bible because I wanted to know about all religions. Seek answers about what? As I stated before, I have a religion. It’s not Christianity (oh no!). So why on Earth would I want to seek answers from a religion I don’t necessarily believe?

  • so far I’ve watched about 10% of all of the responses, and some responses to the responses.

As far as the $1000 is concerned, I wouldn’t chance it, even if I didn’t believe in God.

  • I would not, no.  I, unfortunately, blaspheme every day.  And I hate when I do it.  Sometimes I get really angry and do it on purpose, but I always apologize to God after.  But to purposefully do it and put it on the internet for money…that’s just wrong and depraved.  May God forgive us for what we do.

What I find interesting is that this group is talking about repressive Christians, but forgetting that they too are displaying lack of tolerance to Christians. Seems that today there is a new definition of tolerance that is not part of Websters – namely that tolerance not only means that you accept others may believe differently, but that you agree that they are correct. I truly think this man needs a lot of prayer for his values are so skewed.

  • Honestly, what difference does it make?

  • After reading through some of these comments, I have to make a second. I think it’s incredibly ignorant of anyone to assume that because a person says they are a Christian, that they are some kind of “Bible Thumper.” Many people fall short of Godly behavior. That doesn’t make them un-Christian. If this were some sort of question about Buddhism, Judaism, or Heaven forbid Islam, the atheists would ultimately side with these religions. In my experience, many of the atheists I have encountered are only atheists because of a bad experience with religion or because they have been raised by people who have told them there is no God. Believe what you want, but don’t put down people who do the same. I would never expect someone to believe in something just because I did. I don’t believe in God because of a book. I just believe.

  • No. Never. Not even worth thinking about. Makes me sad to think about the things people will do for money…

  • No, I’d pray the Rosary instead & cry for the souls because people don’t understand the gravity of the things they say in “jest.”

  • i’m horrified.  no.  i have no interest in doing such a thing.

  • That’s disgusting.
But.. do you have any idea how much more people would be flipping out and how much more press coverage this would get if it were like blasphemy against Allah or Buddah or some other “god”?

    Oh, and no, I wouldn’t.

  • ABSOLUTELY NOT!  GOES COMPLETELY AGAINST MY GRAIN!!!  NEVER, EVER!!

  • P.A.N., (you know who you are) there is a big difference between denying the existence of something and denying it in a blasphemous sense. But you comment to me and you’ve never seen me… what makes you think I exist?

  • By the way, there’s a question I’d like some of the militant atheist fundamentalists to answer:

Why do you think it’s worth your time to blaspheme a God you don’t believe exists?

(I don’t see anyone blaspheming Invisible Pink Unicorns….)

  • sure I would for $1000.  But I don’t believe in a god, so it ain’t no big whoop.

  • While I think its retarded to be paid to do such a thing.
Since in the future, your going to be a target…
    And for money? Pretty dumb.

It might be that I’m too young to understand but,

    I would almost promote it.
I’m already sick of all those people that try to convert me to their religion (namely Christian since what else do you see out there in the US?)
    They are fucking everywhere.

In the subways, people would go, “The Bible says…” and “The Bible says…”.
Thank you very much, but I’d love to ride the subway in peace without some person blabbering on and on about religion. Its like everywhere, the billboards, the buildings, and I’d even get Bibles on the street.

Maybe if I could get some peace from all the people trying to convert me. I mean what the hell is wrong with this world? We send missionaries all over Asia and Africa. Yet in Africa, we send Bibles instead of food. And all I ever hear is corruption in religion, oh boy priests molesting kiddies and people stealing funds. Not to mention the how much of the donation goes back to campaigning… Use that money somewhere else PLEASE.

If you believe your belief is somehow correct from all those other religions, oh please continue on. You’ll find out when you die unless your religion suggests otherwise. No need to convert the rest of the world with you, infact why are you converting everyone? And if you can go convert everyone to the fact that God exists, then why can’t people go and convert everyone to the fact that God doesn’t exist? Is there something I’m missing or what?

  • No, not for money, and especially not on Youtube.

It’s just sad to see people doing that sort of stuff.

  • I’m sick of this. I’m not going to discuss anymore.

But nothing you say will convince me otherwise so please stop trying.

  • Money is my god.

  • It’s only blasphemy if you believe that hokey superstition.

Give me a thousand dollars to deny a god that doesn’t exist in the first place? I’m sold.

  • Interesting perhaps. One could view that as selling ones soul for the $1000, but at the same time, its a matter of faith. If one believes that all to be a load of crap, then its easy money, but if its a real faith issue for you, then its a steep price to pay.

I’d probably not bother, but really, I don’t feel that God has anything that in unforgivable. Only people lack compassion and grace for unlimited forgiveness, God has unlimited power to forgive and extend grace to all souls.

  • NO!
And I AM afraid of hell!

  • Hm, $1000 to spend life on earth and die with no hope of any life after death.. or live on earth poor with a hope of life after death.

It’s more of a question of stupidity.

  • No way. And besides, they’re making the same mistake Satan did in the temptation of Jesus. Don’t put God to the test.

  • I’d do it for a buck.
    Hey, I’m thirsty. :)

  • I don’t know if these things blaspheme the holy spirit. I mean…..Jesus says, be hot of cold…don’t be luke warm! Perhaps the luke warm blaspheme more! At least they are trying to be involved in the subject. Like a child raging. Prayers for them.

  • no

  • Absolutely not.

  • no. I’m a Christian, and I’d be selling my soul if I did that. no way, no how.

  • not a chance.

    “I won’t turn away from you…”
    -The Billions

  • let’s think about this – an eternity in hell for $1000 on earth.  Geesh.

  • By the way, there’s a question I’d like some of the militant atheist fundamentalists to answer:

Why do you think it’s worth your time to blaspheme a God you don’t believe exists?

(I don’t see anyone blaspheming Invisible Pink Unicorns….)

I totally agree with your question (kind of an odd thing to say, sorry). I don’t see why we can’t all just get along. I don’t insult my athiest friends because they are athiests. In turn, they don’t insult me. We may question each-other occasionally but it’s all in good spirit. I don’t know why someone (anyone) would do something like this that’s so obviously offensive to millions. I have a feeling that’s a social problem there, or some kind of sick humour that I just don’t get.
    cheers,
    m

  •   Interesting…  Its “not really blasphemy”? I’m curious if that is  anything like being “kind-of pregnant”?   (Come on, people!  Either it  IS …or its NOT…)

Seriously, though…How sad that people would be willing to give up an eternity in Heaven, for a thousand dollars… I wouldnt do it for a billion!   I guess when the time comes, I’ll be on  my way to the guillotine…

  • No, I would not.  Those people have faith in nothing, so it is okay for them to commit blasphemy against God…because it means nothing to them.  But to me, it means something.  God has been the one and only true thing in my life–He has never lied to me, never treated me badly, and will never leave my side.  It’s sad that people are willing to blaspheme ‘just because’…I wouldn’t do it for that, let alone any amount of money.  I pray for those people.

  • Absolutely not.

  • I wonder if these people would deny the existence of any other ‘god’ from another religion.

  • Thats just stupid Dan!

  • NO

  • Yes, I’d do it for free.

What they are doing is entirely wholesome, and serves good purpose in counteracting the evils of the church.

  • No, not for $1,000 or $1,000,000 or any amount of money. But I think it is interesting that atheists deny God but most of them wouldn’t do it either…

  • The last line of the article says “God could not be reached for comment.” God could be reached; to say that He didn’t respond would probably be more accurate. Then again, He probably responded, just not in the way that was expected. And daring him to respond might not be such a bright idea. The editors of Newsweek would feel mighty funny if all of a sudden their computer caught fire and started speaking to them or something

  • I think that they misunderstand the whole “blaspheming the Holy Spirit” thing.

People can disagree if they life, but to me, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit=rejecting the HS’s ability to save.  If you in essence (more likely through your actions than just some words on youtube) say, “I don’t believe the Holy Spirit has the ability to save me from my sins,” you are blaspheming him.  It is an eternal decision you make with your life.  It boils down to not accepting Jesus as savior.  I think people who reject Christianity in their lives die as blasphemers of the Holy Spirit.

Regardless, I hope I wouldn’t commit blasphemy anywhere in any way for any amount.

  • I might – times are tough – but I would cross my fingers behind my back just in case. My Ma’s a true believer – she’s so cute – and never uses the internet – She would be the only person I would care about hurting.

I’m agnostic – I don’t know if there is a God or if that is something human’s made up to fulfill a need that there is something bigger. Face it, the day in day out going to work paying the bills blah blah blah stuff is not so fulfilling – life can feel even pointless at times - so we want to believe there is more – a larger reason for our existence.

However, I have known too many bible- thumping hypocrites who say they are the only one true way to Christ – Ha!  And when you are down, instead of lending a hand, they are off whispering about your hardships to their Christian buddies.

  • I wouldn’t do it….. but just saying those words does not necessarily mean you have commited the unpardonable sin, “blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.”  One could say those words, then at a later date, come to faith in Christ.  I believe the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit would be denying Jesus is Lord unto your death.

  • Yeah. I would rather go to your Hell than your Heaven, anyway. I’ve read the bible. It has more evil in it than any book I’ve read or movie I’ve seen. And even if God became less horrible after Jesus, he was still evil. Women who were raped were to be killed and entire villages of people were to die for one persons sin. It’s wrong.

  • I wouldn’t just cuz I couldn’t be bothered. But I find it kind of weird that people find it insulting. I don’t agree with Chrisitianity-bashing. Buuuutttt saying you are not Christian isn’t anti-christian. People are ALLOWED to be athiest, ya know…

  • they fucked themselves for a free dvd?  stupid kids.

  • There isn’t much I “would” do on Youtube for 1K. It’s not worth putting yourself out there for everyone to see for that much.

  • I’d do it for free, that’s AWESOME!

  • Heavens no… why would people even think of that???

  • Not for any amount of money! This made me sooo sad Forgive them for they know not what they do.

  • Didn’t Christians force others to convert or die way back when? I believe the add campaign was “Convert or Die… motherfucker”.

    Yay for logical arguments.

  • There is a group of Christians who are challenging the blasphemy challenge! :)

  • Have you been reading my blog Dan? lol

  • Jesus tells Satan that he isn’t to temp God.  To me that means that we are not to do it.

    L,r

  • No.

Here is someone’s response to this video – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzn81zvuXLM

  • These atheist want to go to a hell that they know doesn’t exist.
    How does that make sense?

  • My soul is worht more than $1000. In fact, there  is not enough money on this earth to get me to deny God. I am so sorry for those who will be taking part in this, I hope they realize what they are doing before it’s too late;_;

  • Basically they are just putting on screen what they feel already probably so they have already done it anyway…the verse doesn’t say “those who have PUBLICLY blasphemed the Holy Spirit” It’s what’s in the heart and God already knows it– but if they want to mess further with God they have the free will and have been warned.

  • i deny the holy spirit
    there
if i get 1000 dollars woo, but i dont believe in god nor is religion neccesary

  • I wonder if these people would deny the existence of any other ‘god’ from another religion.
Posted 1/30/2007 8:52 AM by emmerskue

That’s exactly what I was wondering.

  • How is it blasphemy to not believe that something exists ?

  • Definately not, for any amount of money.

  • If you really do believe in God, why would you commit blasphemy just because you get money? And, no, I won’t “do” blasphemy,

  • Nope. And it’s very unfortunate that someone would.

  • : D I do that daily anyway. Why not get paid for it?

  • No. Never. That is so awful, and so, so depressing. As far as the “throwing a fit” by Christians who get upset when blasphemy occurs, we are anguished that someone would heap judgement conciously upon themselves.
Father forgive them, for they know not what they do…

  • I would never even think to do something like that.

Seeing some of those videos made me cry. To think of all the souls this little mission they’ve created is damning. It’s heartbreaking.

  • 1000 bucks just for saying “I deny the existence of the holy spirit?” Hell yes! The spirit I worship isn’t holy therefore I could give a damn. :)

  • Uhhh…NO. I am sickened.

  • umm NOOOOO

as a kid raised in a Christian group that focuses a lot on the Holy Spirit this really offends me

  • Uh. That’s pretty stupid. Don’t they have better things to do with their time?

  • Absolutely not.

I think it’s ridiculous that people actually do this.
If you don’t believe in God, that’s your own issue. But to sit there and tell the whole world you deny Him, is just flat out dumb. We christians seem to offen the athiests so much. Well, you atheists offend me.

  • That’s horrible.

I wouldn’t do that for any amount of money.

  • I’m also finding it hard to believe that anyone would do anything for 1,000$… ugh… I wouldn’t clean someones car for less than £1,000 and would never, EVER, commit blasphemy for any amount of money.

  • nope but I would deny the existance of athiesm

  • Of course, all the cool kids are doing it.  HA!  Just kidding!  That’s pretty sick…it said in the last days that people would walk after their owns lusts.  Prove to me that this isn’t just that, I dare you.  Seriously.  Ignorence isn’t bliss.  God is my homie, I wouldn’t ditch him for a billion dollars.

  • Ok, so I hardly believe they are going to go to hell for being stupid/foolish/greedy/attention wanting whores.

However, I’m glad I’m not them.

I have way more respect for my God, and religion IN GENERAL.

And as a Christian, this IS personal. Mentioning the Holy Spirit obviously is directed towards Christianity. How should denying God NOT be a big deal to me?

At least I don’t mesh in.

  • I’d do it for free.

               -KrIsTiN-

  • wow! one never. and two i am a christain, but i also understand that there are other religions in the world. and i respect that they dont have the same ideals as me and i dont go around mock them for it. it kinda ticks me off to see others to do it.

btw is it alright if i repost this on my site? i will give you credit for it and what not, i just think some of my friends would like to see this.

    please cmt me back thanks

  • heck no, but I’m a believer.

  • No, I wouldn’t do that. But that’s because I believe in some sort of God.

However, if I didn’t believe in a god, it would be easy money and I probably wouldn’t have quite as much of a problem saying it.

  • Question: Why, after 2000 years, would a billion of the population still believe in something that was completely false?
    Posted 1/29/2007 8:38 PM by Tallon5

By that argument you could easily say that Hinduism (older than Christianity), Islam (about as many Muslims as Christians), Judaism (MUCH older than Christianity), or any religion that is more than a few millenia old or has more than a few million followers is truth.

    Take a debate class.

  • Eh, I don’t believe in God, but I won’t deface someone’s religion because of that. Truth be told, these people are giving Atheists a bad name. Actually, sometimes I almost think its people posing as Atheists to further the social stigma against us. We really aren’t that bad of people…

    Eva.
