Baby
I was reading a story about a baby who was two weeks old.
His name was Woody. Woody was in the supermarket with his mom and dad. All of a sudden they realized he was cold. They called emergency and they took him to the hospital. The doctors and nurses worked on him for 30 minutes. But they just couldn’t revive him. So they told his parents there was nothing they could do and then allowed his parents in to hold him one last time.
All of a sudden, Woody began to breath again. Woody is now 14 months old. Here is the link: Link

aside from the obvious question “what on earth was a two-week old doing out in a supermarket???”, this story simply reinforces that there are more things in heaven and on earth than most people dream of. i would love to say without a doubt that this was a miracle of God, but i think it might be more of a physiological miracle of God > since breathing air is a relatively new thing for a two-week old, the baby’s body might have been confused and it took a bit for the automatic reflexes to kick in and get the infant breathing again…
thank God it all turned out alright…

I believe miracles exist, either by amazing luck, or God, or karma or whatever. my best friend lives in Minnesota, over 1300 miles away from me. She underwent several surgeries because she had a punctured lung from breaking her ribs, and she had bad reactions to the anesthesia and so her heart rate would drop really low. She suffered multiple flat lines and was life flighted three times and after another surgery… couldn’t wake up. Her heart wasn’t strong enough to support her. After four days, her body was almost done. The doctors tried all kinds of medicines and therapies and treatments to little/no avail. They were going to take her off of life support. Her nurse said that if I called and left a voicemail, she would play it for my best friend, even though she was unresponsive and such.
And about an hour after I left the message, the nurse asked me to leave another one. I asked her if everything was okay, and she said she showed signs of responding to my voice. So I left another one… and long story short the doctors, because she was then so…. awake? responsive? whatever you’d call it, they were able to wake her up.
This was shortly before Christmas. It was literally a miracle. that a 15 year old in Maryland could save a 17 year old’s life in Minnesota, when medicine couldn’t… it was my Christmas miracle so to speak
haha I’m tearing up. it was the most amazing feeling in the world when the nurse said she was awake. Since then it’s been a struggle. She’s had a seizure, and a heart attack, and her lung randomly will stop expelling air. She has troubles breathing and her heart is weak. But she’s alive, and getting better, and that’s all that matters.
if you want to use this to inspire a miracle post, go ahead.
anyways, sorry for the long story, but I love telling it. It truly was a miracle, no matter what caused it.
Haha… and I’m rereading that and thinking of things I should have added too. It was a three month struggle of in and out of the hospital and surgeries and life support and everything, leading up to this. Since then she’s needed an emergency surgery, the day after New Year’s, so that story is nearly 6 months of ups and downs.
whew. it seems so surreal to talk about to other people.
LAST ONE I SWEAR. when I said three month struggle, I meant she broke her ribs at the end of August – hence 6 month struggle. but was in the hospital for almost three months straight (october november december) with the occasional few days or week at home.
i just wonder how true these stories are…?
