  • Girls Gone Wild

A woman police officer in Australia decided to send her boyfriend, who is also a police officer, a get well picture.  So she used her mobile phone and took a picture of her exposed breast and sent it to him as a get well message.  He then shared it with some friends and it got spread all over the police department.

She was in uniform with her name tag showing in the picture.  The ethical standards department is looking into the situation to see if any rules were broken.  Here is the link:  Link

Should the police officer be fired for exposing her breast in uniform when she was only intending to send it to her boyfriend?

  • NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament

So much for snoozers. Saturday's winners had to earn the Sweet 16. Ohio State survived OT. Then Butler and Texas A&M won thrillers. Then Pitt and Vandy needed OT, too. In the nightcaps, UNC and UCLA squeaked by. Jeff Goodman reviews a day full of drama.

Who do you like that is still in it?

  • The Government and Unhealthy Choices

I was reading an article on Harvard Political Review about the governments involvement in regulating unhealthy choices.

In the article the question was being asked “Should the government be able to regulate our unhealthy lifestyle choices?”  The article acknowledges that the government is making a special effort to curb smoking because it impacts other people.  The tide has turned against smoking because of the perception that secondhand smoking is hurting others.  So smoking is being banned in public places.

The concern expressed in the article is that the government is actually trying to regulate unhealthy patterns.  That some of these small steps are slowly allowing the government to curb unhealthy patterns.

  • Cheating Husband

Now that Hillary Clinton is showing that she is going to run for president, some of her critics are coming out and reminding the public why they shouldn’t vote for her.

I was reading an article that was talking about some of her flaws but it really appeared to me to focus on the flaws of her husband.  In fact, it mentioned that her husband was still cheating on her since he has been out of office.  (I am not sure why a man who cheated before he went into the presidency and during his presidency would suddenly be expected to stop cheating).

But as I read the article, I was having a hard time understanding why the fact that Bill Clinton was cheating on her, would hurt her politically.  That makes him a dog.  And it just makes her married to a dog.  It doesn’t say anything to me about her politically or personally.  People can say she is just staying married to him because of her own political ambitions.  But I am not sure where they get that from.  I guess it is a convenient punch at her.

In the article, I read stories presented as fact that Hillary would act out in anger toward her husband.  Those stories indicate it even came down to her throwing things at him.  I couldn’t help to think this must be normal for a woman who was cheated on.  I am not sure why this would hurt her politically.  Here is the link:  Link

  • IM

When talking about instant messaging, I always pronounced the phrase “IM” as “I’m.”  I pronounced it as one word.  Then I talked to someone on the phone one day and he said “I-M.”  In other words, he pronounced it as two separate letters.  He would say “I” “M.”

    How do you say “IM?”

  • Blogging Ethics

I got a message from my friend Daniel aka Disturbing_The_Universe.  Here is his message:

“I notice that there are some of your commentors that have their sites with friend lock or have them made not public… They come here and post passionate responses, but are afraid to allow others to come to their sites to respond…

I think it’s almost “bad blog ethics” to do this kind of thing… Like people who will come to your site, tell you your opinions are wrong, but then get angry and block you from their site when you try to comment back to them…”

Is it “bad blog ethics” to leave passionate responses and then place your site on friend’s lock?
