Democratic Gov. Bill Richardson is going to sign a bill that will make medical Marijuana legal in New Mexico. 

It will make New Mexico the 12th state to make marijuana legal for medical purposes.  There are those that believe that it could hurt Bill Richardson’s political future since he is running for president in 2008.  Here is the link:  Link

I was reading the Men’s Health section of yahoo.com.  David Zinczenko was talking about relationships and how women at times can be too aggressive.  He mentioned how women were becoming more independent and liberated and that was causing some problems in relationships.

Who is hotter, John Edwards or Barack Obama?

Two parents are in the news for using an electric cattle prod in order to treat their son’s autism. 

Their son is 48-years-old and will sometimes uncontrollably band his head against the wall.  They say that the only thing that works in treating him is the shock treatments.  The treatments are a form of behavior modification.  There are those that think the treatments are unethical.  Some states have banned the treatments.

His parents say the device is all that works.  They say that often just seeing the device is enough to get their son to stop doing the undesirable behavior.  (I can’t help but to agree.  Every time I bring out my electric cattle prod, my children do exactly as I say).  Here is the link:  Link 

I met a lady a few years ago.  She was in severe depression.  She was not responding to the medicine.  She received shock treatments.  I remember hearing about it and thinking it was crazy.  And yet she told me it was the only thing that worked.

Should parents be able to give their autistic children the shock treatment they need?

Xanga got banned from mainland China.  Hong Kong can still look in.  It isn’t just xanga.  Many sites are blocked now.  This makes me sad for mainland China.

Apparently more men need a teddy bear to sleep with than women do when they are sleeping alone.  

15 percent of women said they used a teddy bear.  20 percent of men said they need one.  The survey included 2000 people who were “solitary travelers.” 

63 percent of those people admitted they needed someone to cuddle with while they were sleeping.  28 percent admitted to hugging their pillow.  Here is the link:  Link

One trial that has been in the news is the trial of John Couey.

John Couey raped and killed a 9-year-old girl.  According to prosecutors he took her from her room, raped her, and left her to die in his backyard.

The jury found him guilty of abducting, raping and murdering Jessica Lunsford.  Now they must determine his fate on whether he should be executed. 

His defense team argued that he was not mentally competent.  They had him tested for IQ and he scored a 64.  The prosecutors had him tested at 71.  That put him 1 point above what is generally considered retarded.  It is against the law to execute someone who is retarded.  Here is the link:  Link
