A Playboy Tribute to Anna
Playboy is going to have a tribute to Anna Nicole Smith in its May issue.
They will be having a 10-page pictorial. They will also have an hour-long retrospective on their channel and an online memorial. Here is the link: Link
I guess I have thought that this magazine is used for one general purpose.
Am I the only one who thinks it is a little creepy to use a dead person as a sexual object?

and yeah….thats a little creepy
What’s creepy is that people thought Anna was hot.
Hugh Hefner is the Crypt Keeper. Can it get creepier than that?
no
Not only is it creepy, but the Anna Nicole Smith bulls**t is just dumb. She’s basically famous for banging an old dude. Why are we so caught up in her death?
I remember her on some morning show talking about how she had sex with a ghost once. She was a drug addict who did this stupid stuff, and that’s how people knew her. It’s not necessary to tribute her in any way. At least in my opinion.
ugh… exploitation. That, or they honestly think a spread of nude shots is a respectable salute to a person’s life. Either way, a sad story on a sad life.
Very creepy.
No, I think she probably would have wanted that.
I think it’s a bit weird to be making money off it though…
Well, Hugh Heffner made her big, maybe to him it’s like a eulogy.
Playboy would never be co classless as to exploit a dead girl.
No they only exploit woman in general.
It is creepy, but then again she lived a lurid life – her entire life was her exploitation. These are the people she hung around with.
I think it is creepy….but she probably wouldn’t.
Strange…
well.
i think people will view it more as a memorial than as something pleasurable.
or at least i hope so.
Yes, of course.
Oh c’mon, it’s not like The Hef dug her back up and used her for the centerfold. It’s old photos. Big deal.
It’s kind of creepy to use someone you don’t know as a sexual object, too, isn’t it Dan?
What kind did you get? I’m weirded out for a different reason. I hadn’t even thought of that, so now that’s icking me out too. Mine is more the weird feeling of laying down while people are walking about the store around me. Just odd.
I’m sorry…Playboy MADE Anna. Who else would do a better tribute to her????
Is it odd to look at pics of Marilyn Monroe???? because she’s (gasp) dead?!?!?
I think its apropriate. She was a playmate. They did a tribute to Marilyn Monroe. that’s not weird. I think its cool that they do that. It shows the Hef(and playboy) have a little bit more class than what people think.
Ugh… They’ve got so many more attractive LIVE women!
How about more than a little creepy to use a person as a sexual object at all?
Actually, Jam4the1Lamb, it seems to me that a few pages of absolute depravity would be a very appropriate tribute to her life. Unfortunate but true.
creepy, yes. but a fitting tribute.
No, not really. It’s not like anyone’s talking about pulling her corpse out of the ground for disgusting purposes.
Well i guess u jus av to fink would it of been something she would of wanted…?
More like using someone from the past as a sexual object… like that moment when you’re watching old Bond movies and realize that the young hot Bond girl is a grandma by now.
Technically, however, it’s still creepy, as per RaVnR’s comment above.
You’re right. It is creepy. But as others have said I think it is a fitting tribute. Which I think says something sad about her life. I feel sorry for her parents and that small town having to deal with her fame.

I was going to write something similar..but I chose to cut and paste
no, it is approrpiate. but it is a little soon. “tributes” are being made before things have happened….. like the September 11th movies. Let things go away before you try to bring them back!!!
Do you feel the same way when you see pictures of Marilyn Monroe?
anna’s disgusting, playboy’s disgusting, dead bodies are disgusting. any questions?
hmm… i agree with bananza80
creepy, yes. but a fitting tribute
makes sense… unfortunately.. XristosAnesti,,, a few pages of absolute depravity would be a very appropriate tribute to her life. Unfortunate but true.
*sigh*
XristosAnesti-Her life did have many shallow elements, but I think that is pretty harsh.
As for the actual topic, yes, I think that is a little creepy. I wish we could know more about who Anna was as a person, and not just as her money making body.
I would agree.
Naw, it’s not so bad. In fact, I’ve still got a thing for Cleopatra.
I think a tribute makes sense.. not to provide hand fodder, but to look back at the life of someone who was fairly significant in the industry.
But yes, looking at a dead person in a sexual way.. little creepy in my eyes.
Wait, why is it creepy to pay tribute to a passed Playboy model? This is something akin to doing a movie tribute to a passed actor. Why is this so creepy? This is what she did, flaunt herself, and Playboy is using that. BFD.
If you think the women aren’t using Playboy to exploit their bodies, rather than Playboy exploiting women, then you’re being naive. Everybody uses everybody in that business.
nope.
i have that issue by the way.
nope, it’s definitely kinda weird.
No, you’re not the only one. That’s just disturbing to me.
I agree with RaVnR:
It’s kind of creepy to use someone you don’t know as a sexual object, too.
hello~!
it’s just a tribute!! playboy is not worth it’s salt. mostly articles.
it’s creepy, yes, but I can’t think of any thing else to do with her memory. she was a sex object.
i only subscribe for the joke and berr songs and the reading of how to become a better fighter…….
playboy is the mans bible;
its way more then just nude people.
yikes. that is creepy.
Uh, yeah. Pretty creepy. Somehow, though, I don’t think she would have minded.
It is creepy but Marilyn Monroe is still used as a sex symbol at times even though she has been dead for over forty years. Therefore, I don’t think this is all that bad when it is put in perspective.
Hey, everyone still loves Madonna. What’s the difference?
Yes it is, but I highly doubt she’d mind.
No, you’re not.
Hmmm, that assumes that by looking at picture you’ll turn her into a sexual object. Playboy created Anna Nicole so it’s only fitting that they would keep her memory alive.
Whether you sexually objectify someone is up to you.
Definitely…weird.
Well, given all the publicity generated about her because of her death (loddy frickin’ dah), they’ll probably sell quite a bit of that issue.
i think its EXTREMELY creepy…

It’s necrophilia.
Your celebrating someones life, if she wasnt a playboy model, but instead some business tycoon profiled in forbes we wouldnt be having this discussion. People are to critical sometimes.
now that you mention it…yes, it is!
Yes.
While it is weird, that is what she’s famous for. Not saying that that makes it right, but still. It seems like something she would have done (but then again I didn’t know her).
I think it’s nice that they’re doing a memorial to her. She got her start because she was in Playboy, and because she was a Playmate. I think that if anyone’s going to do something to remember her, that it should be them. They’re recognizing her for something other than her marriage & the questions about the paternity of her child. I think it’s great!
And if people do choose to get off to the photos of her, I don’t think that she would’ve been bothered by it at all. It’s what those photos were originally for!
I ask, ‘what would’ve Anna Nicole Smith been without her Playboy exposure’? (pun both intended and not)
I totally agreed. I don’t think guys who use these books to masturbate or full fill their fantasy toward a dead person. That just sick.
mmmm…. necrophilia.
>_>
Sometimes I think you’re pretty creepy.
creepy, just creepy
The whole thing is creepy.
nope it is pretty creepy…even if that person wasn’t dead
don’t keep putting this on my site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Masturbating to photographs of a now deceased woman? I thought it would be a little creepy, but you know, if you put it in front of me on a dry week, I must waste a few babies…
The GUILT.
Morality is interesting. Some people say it is creepy to use people as sexual objects. Do they know what that means? What about role play, people who have a use or be used fantasy with a stranger or something even stronger?
When you care for someone, you indulge them. No one ever complained yet…
Not if they’re still warm.
Is that what you meant?
Since I don’t read Play Boy anyway, I don’t care what they do,lol
I remember her on some morning show talking about how she had sex with a ghost once. She was a drug addict who did this stupid stuff, and that’s how people knew her. It’s not necessary to tribute her in any way. At least in my opinion.
–
Agreed. o-o
And I think it is wrong with anyone.
Besides your wife…xD
have you ever looked at a playboy? most of the magazines are all articles… either way though… its a fitting tribute
haha yes. i wouldnt want to be remembered that way… ugh
Just when we thought our culture could not be more depraved! I suspect Mr. Heffner has never had an interest in the elements of a woman that make her alive. Heffner has always treated women as corpses. He does not see the difference.
No its not creepy.
At least shes being remembered in the magazine as the beautiful and lovely woman she was, whereas in all the other media shes being portrayed in all negative light.
Hef is trying to get away from the whole “Whos the baby’s daddy” and is trying to remember her for the wonderful person she was before her downfall.
Yes, Dan.
That’s called necrophilia. =P
you people are retarded and need to figure out how to answer a question correctly. if you say “no” is means that you agree that it is creepy.
god.
Like you said, it is a tribute and where else was she made famous, but at Playboy? I wouldnt want to see a tribute to her in Time mag.
RYC: i am kinda liking the new themes, despite the fact that i do not like change. have a good day, dan.
playboy used to be a great literary source. It still pays extreme amounts (in the thousands) per article. I had a friend published in playboy. I wouldn’t mind that myself.
It’s a tribute. It’s what she did. If it were a musician, would it be wrong to use their music as a delightment factor when you were sad?
No
i just think anna nicole is gross to begin with.
there’s a name for people like that. necrophytes? from necrophilia? i could be spelling this wrong, but i do know that theres a name for people like that.
aggreed with RaVnR.
Yeeeaaahh… kinda creepy…
*shivers*
necrophilia appeals to some….
maybe it’s just in her memory. yea. why else?
I thought the magazine was “art” at least that is what I was always told by the males. That and I just read the articles. So if it is art that is not creepy right…
How about more than a little creepy to use a person as a sexual object at all?
Posted 4/9/2007 9:15 AM by XristosAnesti
My thoughts exactly.
Seriously. I think it’s definitely disrespectful instead of appreciative to do that.
creepy..but you know what she frickin starved her baby to make her ” sexy” and that is just messed up…so she is just a plain ol mystery to me.
UM YES.
I hope you won’t be masturbating to this one, Dan.
Yeah, it is kinda creepy…
Def. Seeing how theres prolly gonna be some sick fu*k whos gonna get all freaky with himself with that “memorial”
I think it’s creepy as well.
Yes verrry creepy I don’t see it as a good tribute.
Anna was creepy alive, dead still somehow manages to make things significantly worse.
She wasn’t dead when the photos were taken. Anna’s main goal was to be known as a sexual icon.
have you never heard of necrophilla?
You say “Dead person as as a sexual object” like its a bad thing!
I think it is creepy that so much attention has been given to her.
She’s ugly
as with most icons…they become more famous after death. it is very sad that she died, but she will have legendary status just like her idol marilyn monroe. just a fact of life…..quit getting your panies in a wad
Hugh Hefner is the Crypt Keeper. Can it get creepier than that?
Posted 4/9/2007 8:35 AM by Soultender
No kidding. I totally second that!
Uhm if it’s creepy to use Anna Nicole Smith then why isn’t it creepy with all the pinups and glamourizing of Marylin Monroe?
I think paying tribute in this particular case is fitting. Most people who object, tend to be hyporcrites
Nope. I agree that it’s creepy but I guess it works well ya know?
yes that is definetly totally creepy. ::shivers::
I think the exploitation of women’s physical attributes for the general male population’s use is rather creepy. But hey, thats my opinion and.. everyone is entitiled to theirs…seing as mine is probably in the minority with regards to the average opinion =P. But, to answer your question, I don’t think its really any different than any other memorial tributes based on somebody’s occupation. Did anyone complain when magazines published tributes and photos of Peter Jennings and all about his news broadcasting career? Why should a pornstar’s tribute be any different? Yes, a different audience because of the different tributes, but i think you get my point. However, I personally don’t understand why anyone would care about her at all. She was a disgusting gold digger that ruined her life through drugs, sex, and whatever else she was involved in. The entire concept of American pop culture being obsessed with deadbeat celebrities runing their lives through scandals, aesthetic morals, and deplorable habbits still has me baffled.
Bubba and Junior were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up. A blonde lady walked by and asked what they were doing.
“We’re supposed to find the height of the flagpole,” said Bubba, “but we don’t have a ladder.”
The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts, and laid the pole down. Then she took a tape measure from her pocket, took a measurement & announced, “Eighteen feet, six inches,” and walked away.
Junior shook his head and laughed. “Ain’t that just like a dumb blond? We ask for the height, and she gives us the length.
Bubba and Junior are currently doing government work supervising the reconstruction of the New Orleans Levees.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
That’s all folks!
she’s probably not dead in the pictures.
