  • Paying For A Post

I received this offer in my message box today:

    hey ther,e

Got an idea for you. I’m making a xanga site…and i want traffic to it. So i was wondering, if I can pay you 15$ , and you post something on your blog for me. It will be pretty simple, just copy n paste the exact thing I email you and that’s it.

I’m making 2 sites, 1 is personal and 1 is more..for…funny, entertaining stories. I want to drive traffic to them so this is the best way.

Are you open to that idea> Do you have pay pal?

The copy n paste, lets say for my funny site that I am making, I’ll just tell you to type something like “OMG, check out this site……. www…..com etc etc, thers’ thsi funny a** (edited) story about.. etc etc etc, ”

    And that’s it, u get 15$.

    What do u think?

    =)

    hehe thanks

Should I take this guy up and earn $15?

  • IM Etiquette

This post is based on a message I received via the message box.

A lady had commented back and forth with another person on xanga.  She wanted to ask her about something and saw her IM was on her site.  She contacted her via IM and the lady acted like she was offended that she used her IM without asking to contact her first.

Is it proper etiquette to ask before you contact someone via IM?

  • A-Rod and the Mystery Woman

I was watching ESPN this morning and part of the discussion centered around Yankee baseball player Alex Rodriguez.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICK-TURE: Alex Rodriguez walks into the Four Seasons hotel in Toronto with a woman not his wife before getting on an elevator together.

Alex Rodriguez has been caught in photos with a woman that is being described as a mystery woman.  He was seen going into a strip club with her when his team was playing in an away game in Toronto.  Alex Rodriguez has a wife and a 2 1/2 year-old daughter.

The conversation on ESPN was centered around how the media was reporting this story.  One of the guys on the show said that it was always understood that they would not print stories of catching someone cheating.  Here is the link to the article:  Link

They are not mentioning the word cheat.  They are just pointing out that he is spending time with this woman while in Toronto and going to a strip club with her and she is visiting his hotel room.

Should the media print stories and photos if they believe a professional athlete is cheating?

  • Happiness

Do you think happiness is really a choice?

  • Invasion of Privacy

Google maps shows people’s faces.  Here is the link:  Link

They also show license plates.  Here is the link:  Link

Are the google maps an invasion of privacy?

  • Prayer Points

It appears to me that some people want special people to pray for special prayer request.  I am not sure if they think that the people in question have more prayer points with God.

Take the case of Madeleine McCann.

Madeleine McCann Suspect Called Wife Crying Right Before Child Taken

She was kidnapped.  She was 3-years-old when kidnapped and just turned 4.  There has been a big hunt across Europe to find her.

Her parents met with the Pope today.

    Photo

Pope Benedict XVI blessed them and a photo of the girl.  They asked the Pope for his prayers.  Here is the link:  Link

I think the parents want their daughter back.  They are asking for the Pope to pray for the situation.

Do you think that God is more likely to listen to the prayers of the Pope?

  • Killing

I posted about an 11-year-old boy who shot a wild hog that is considered to be the biggest pig ever discovered.

When the original story was first printed, people doubted it was even real.  Now the young boy is being offered a small part in the upcoming movie “The Legend of Hogzilla.”  Here is the link:  Link

The boy’s family has set up a website for him and he has received a ton of negative emails and comments about what he did.  Some are calling him a killer and wishing the same thing would happen to him.  He has been called fat.

Most of the negative comments are centered around that fact that he shot the animal and that the animal ran for 3 hours before he died.  There was also a concern about how excited the boy was to kill an animal.  Here is the link:  Link

Is it a sign of sickness that an 11-year old boy would be excited to have killed a wild animal?

  • Internet Photos

Allison Stokke has been in the news because of her photo being displayed on the internet.  A photographer took her photo and it was placed all over the internet.  She has been getting request for interviews.  She had a video of her photo placed online.  She is an 18-year-old high school pole vaulter.

A video was taken of her and it was placed on YouTube.  It received over 150,000 hits.  She has complained about how she has received so much exposure and has no control over her image.  So the Washington post printed her story and it gave her even more attention.  Here is the link:  Link

I am going to ignore the issue of whether her image should be plastered all over the internet because it already is and everyone is discussing that.  I am going to ignore the issue of whether she has brought this on herself.  I want to ask a question that I think should be a little more obvious.

Should a high school let their athletes dress in outfits that skimpy?

  • Stealing Wi-Fi

Oh crap!!  We are all in trouble now.

A man from Michigan was fined $400 and forced to work 40 hours of community service for using Wi-Fi internet connections while sitting in his car.  He was using the Wi-Fi from a local cafe.  Police say he got off easy.  The maximum penalty was $10,000 and five years in prison.

Some feel that the sentence is harsh when the Wi-Fi is a broadcast and airwaves just go out to the general public.  Here is the link:  Link

Should it be illegal to access Wi-Fi when the airwaves are broadcast everywhere?
