  • Gay Bomb

The Air Force confirmed the other day that a military researcher had requested $7.5 million to make a non-lethal “love bomb.”

The “love bomb” would “chemically alter the state of mind of the enemy troops and make them want to have sex with each other rather than fight.”

The proposal suggested, “One distateful but completely non-lethal example would be strong aphrodisiacs, especially if the chemical also caused homosexual behavior.”  (I wonder if the bomb was used and the wind pushed the fumes over to our own troops, if they would be allowed to marry since clearly then homosexuality wouldn’t be a choice).

No money was spent on the project.  Here is the link:  Link

Do you think it would be unethical to use a love bomb during time of war?

  • i would say yes…i don’t really want more gay people around…

  • i think that’s brilliant.

  • The idea makes me feel uneasy, to say the least.

  • what. the. shit. are you talking about

  • ^ oh and taber tarot…. you’re a douche.

  • It’s better than killing each other.

  • Whoever thought of that was a very sick, sick, disgusting, perverted man.

And who would want to watch a bunch of MEN have sex together from lust and a chemical that made them like that?

    GROSS.

If we use that, our country has gotten very desperate.

  • i think it would be funny if the terrorists started shagging each other.

  • Before anyone else starts their rant against war, fighting, gays, straights, the military, lethal weapons, and even Iraq.  Don’t forgot the key point to this story:

NO MONEY WAS SPENT ON THE PROJECT!!!

  • I think it’s distasteful, but better than blowing people up. And it’s pretty freaking hilarious.

Does it wear off though? I wouldn’t want to ruin anyone’s life…

  • “Make love…not war”

  • Well, you know the old saying…make love not war!

  • TaberTot? You’re a jerk.

  • I’m torn between being horribly insulted at the idea that now, being gay is a weapon, and terribly amused at the depths to which the military will sink. War called off in the event of extreme nookie.

  • I would laugh hysterically if this ever actually happened.  It’s kind of ironic, considering the old “make love, not war” thing.

  • I believe the old saying is “All is fair in love and war”. This seems like it would be the perfect time to make use of that saying.

  • Actually, I theorize that hetero troops that are hit with a strong strong aphrodisiac would become berserker soldiers.

Repressed sexuality often results in violent tendencies. If they enemy was uncontrollably horny they would not stop to fuck, they would fight with a fury we cannot imagine.

  • I wonder if the effects would have been permanent?

  • it’s a rather unethical approach to alter one’s conscience… and the muslim world would NOT be happy with us for turning their soldiers gay.. isn’t sharia law really harsh on gays?

  • id say yes.. but it might be one level up from killing them all

this is crazy.. lol – wow

    Daniel (doubledb)

  • “Why the hell are we fighting these guys when they have such pretty eyes and nice asses?”

  • I like how a gay bomb would be a “distasteful” option. As if, you know, killing someone isn’t at all distasteful. And by like I mean find sad and pathetic.

  • hahah that’s freaking hilarious!

  • hahahahahahahahahahahaha…

what was the question? i was so lost in laughing at that ridiculous idea, i forgot.

    amanda

  • I saw this story and laughed my a** off. It does make you wonder if homosexuality is a choice though.

  • Has this been tested??? LOL. And on whom? Our own soliders? When it comes down to it…its just wrong.

  • You can’t write comedy like this.

  • that’s hilarious! Yet sometimes lust can get you into trouble too… and drive unstable people to violence.

  • That is really a sick idea…and its offensive..and unethical…

  • there are no ethics when it comes to war. it would certainly be a funnier way to prove your point than blowing up the people who disagree with you.

  • wow. yes. wow. i just don’t even know how to comment this one.

  • Come ON… is that even possible?

  • A whole new meaning to “Make Love Not War” huh?

  • That’s an old one Dan. My Politics textbook mentioned that and it was publisehed over a year ago.

  • I was going to say pretty much what lostinlimerence said.

It’s more ethical to slaughter people than turn them into lovers? Homosexuality is worse than killing?

    Only by political logic.

  • Sounds like mass rape to me. I’m ashamed of our govt. for this one.

  • All is fair in love and war…
    -David

  • real bombs maim and kill people including small children. Small children with burns all over their body, that’s not bad but
    ooooooo turning them gay is!

    I find all bombs distasteful

  • That said, I don’t really think it would be strategic, I’m not sure I can really imagine an actual battle or war being won with it.
    -David

  • Lol, don’t be ashamed by creativity
    -David

  • That is awesome.

Especially if dropped on the republican convention

  • No and its a freaking great  Idea!

  • This was probably one of your funniest and most ridiculous posts.

  • haha, yeah, drop it on the republican national convention

    great idea popeonabomb

  • I think that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of…

  • Somewhat unethical, yeah.  Though I would rather have two guys having sex with each other than shooting bullets at me.

They had a weapon back in the day that sent out low frequencies (or something like that) and it made people have to defecate immediately.  That’s pretty low but more ethical.  I remember Jay Leno made a joke about it, calling it the colon pow.

  • “all you need is love, love…love is all you need”

  • Some Hollywood producer is probably already planning a remake of Dr. Strangelove.

  • Hmmm… Isn’t war just unethical all around?

    ANG… lol

  • thats aweful…

and i cant even really give you a clear example why it would be bad…other than the fact that i think homosexuality is wrong–its against my beliefs. but so is killing, and i support our troops.

my sense of fairness has to butt in at this point.

those men(and even boys in some cases) are fighting for what they believe in. it may be wrong, but they still have faith in their cause. they are human. they have given thier lives for this. they are willing to fight. they show that by joining in the war…they did not sign up to be chemically altered into becoming gay.

i can not help but wonder what our military would do if such a thing were to be dropped on them…

  • I dont really like the idea, It is just disgusting.  I would rather have a chemical which calm everybody down and love each other, so they would have a second thought and not to fight against each other again and negociate.

  • fight global warming!

    Go to http://www.fightglobalwarming.com

Save the world before its too late!!

  • OMG thats hysterical…unethical yes… but it’s better than accidently killing or harming sometimes innocent citizens

  • OMG thats hysterical…unethical yes… but it’s better than accidently killing or harming sometimes innocent citizens

  • i really hate my computer

  • unethical.. but highly amusing

  • No. I’d rather drop a love bomb than an atomic bomb. Besides that would be funny as hell to watch.

  • alls fair in love and war, they say.

an odd approach, however, this could deffinately defuse the nuclear world war 3 thats been such a threat. id rather people have a sore ass than a dead one.

i give props to that thinker of outside the box

  • i would say yes…i don’t really want more gay people around…

Maybe not for war, but if we could round up all the homophobic fucks and drop it on them..

  • We just went to D.C. in December on a vacation to visit the same friends.  After D.C. in December we also went to Vegas.  December was my first visit to D.C.

  • i woul dlike to drop a gay bomb on america. maybe it would stop all the madness.

  • I’m glad we didn’t fund this – we waste enough tax dollars as it is. I’m not entirely sure how it would be more ethical to make an army violate its moral principles than to shoot them.

  • isn’t ethic pushed out the window when you’re talking about war??? i’d rather be gay than dead.

  • thats funny. and also creepy.

  • Well………………….

  • HA! I’ve heard of some of those more creative project ideas.

  • Well, its an improvement, to say the least. I want a love bomb!

  • cant we just use this in public schools to end bullying and violence? TIMMY stop knocking down Jims legos, and go suck his dick, NOW.

  • And yea, I think it would be unethical. Its still a chemical weapon.

Sigh. Just another example of an attempt to waste our tax money on a worthless idea.

  • Oh dear. The things people can come out with … Its rather senseless to me why people aren’t finding ways to settle their differences without war, but create such weapons to be used in wars instead. In any case, i think the guys would be very emotionally disturbed to learn that they just tried to have sex with their mates after the effects of the bomb wear off … Hmm.

  • Not at all, I think that is a highly entertaining and practical idea. Although, I’m not sure what it would mean for us after it wore off…

  • ha ha, bring on the love!

Um okay.  Both guys and girls are in the army/marines/etc, right?

So while a homosexual bomb would work well for the guys, it wouldn’t work quite as well for the girls, if there are alot more guys then girls fighting the war.  You know?

  • yes, it is. and what suprises me the most is that this is a country founded on (what alot of people say) the “Christian faith”. and i think its ridiculous and we really dont need God to get pissed at us more for turning people gay….come on.

  • Aha thats funny

    But very wierd.

  • Aside from the complete ridiculousness of this idea, do aphrodisiacs actually exist?  Just asking, because I’ve never heard of an “aphrodisiac” that worked, not to mention it would have to be pretty damn strong to turn a straight person gay.

  • No…

  • I personally wouldn’t support it.

ryc:  Thanks!  It always amazes me the things other people see in those pictures.

  • It’s brilliant, but unethical. I would be against it.

  • conan was talking about this last night, and i didn’t realize it wasn’t a joke.

    Fight Mental Illness Stigma

  • Not at all…..make more, in mass quantities. :P

  • modern day warfare is such a different game from what the simple swords and shields that it used to be!

i wouldn’t really like the idea of such a weapon being used…

  • why not just drop cocaine? they would be too busy being high to fight

  • I dont know…I understand why we need war (well…kind of) but I still find it unethical and somewhat sad that this is how we resolve fights with the world…I dont personally believe anything is worth killing someone over…as it would be hilarious to picture, I’m not really sure if it’s unethical or not…but it would deff change the idea of war…wierd.

  • anything mind altering- hell no. dont think so. i dont want to even think about that.

  • hahahah.

    how weird.

  • While that is completely hilarious and nearly made me laugh out loud at work, I would have to say that ethically it’s a no.  If they do that, where will it stop?  I think something like that gives the government too much power.

  • That re-defines “make love, not war”…

  • OMG DROP IT ON CONGRESS

  • oh snap is hilarious! good sense of humor!

    –BenIsDead

That makes perfect sense. Ah, the stupidity of the American military. *sigh*

  • “Make Love, not war”

  • well that was a really odd why the hell would you randomly come up with a love /gay bomb

    lol cmb    hannah

  • I read the proposal for the funding. Hands down one of the dumbest wastes quite possibly in history for my money as a taxpayer…

  • haha oh jeez..

    That’s funny..kind of gross though..

  • This is…absolutely ridiculous.

  • that’s hysterical. geez. i don’t know about ethically, but logically that would reduce fighting and death but i think it would create a lot more problems

  • That’s awesome. o__o Whoever came up with that deserves a high-five.

  • now my question is why are they testing it on san fran an ma.?

    ha ha

  • Lol, that’s funny and a lot more ethical than murder.

  • I don’t even know how to react to that.

    I didn’t know that’s possible.

    Oh my god, that’s ridiculous.

    Yet almost funny.

    But strange.

    Gah…

  • Hell no. If it really worked I think it would put war in general in real perspective.

    Love  >  War

  • make love, not war

  • Okay, seriously – masks anyone? If the US put all the effort and money into developing the bomb it would be usable what? a couple times before somebody on the other side caught on and developed protection against it? Way too likely to only really affect the people who can’t protect themselves, ie nearby civilians, so definitely unethical.

  • WOW

what is this country comeing to???

  • LOL!! I think its kinda funny!!

  • I knew something was in the air.  Damn military testing on the populace again.  I think it has had an adverse affect on the cattle ’round these parts.

  • OMG!!! I need some of that chemical! XDD j/k~

This is a crazy idea though…. Why sex?? If they could alter ppl’s thought, then wouldn’t just put them all to sleep be better?

  • A time for war and a time for love

  • It’s wrong…..we wouldn’t want anyone using chemical weapons on us and I am never a fan of deceiving anyone into doing something (sex especially) which is on such a personal level with someone that they don’t particularly care to. Especially if it with someone outside of their sexual orientation. It’s just wrong, the guys who sign up for the military know that they might go to war…….to kill the enemy, so if the military is in call for action let them do what they are supposed to do.

  • LOL THATS RETARDED

  • it’s a stupid idea…although hilarious.  I just say blow them up.

  • MAKE LOVE not WAR would take on a WHOLE new meaning@@@ LMAO

That thing looks like a yeast infection pill dispenser or something

  • That would make a great plot for porno.

  • Even if BenisDead is right, it would still make a great movie.  By great I mean truly aweful with  bad acting but you still can’t take your eyes away from it.

  • no one would sign up for the military

  • That would be unethical, not to mention downright dirty warfare. Now, if they have a way of making people less aggressive, now you’d be going somewhere.

    ’nuff said….

  • Forget ethics, that’s hysterical XD

  • MAKE LOVE NOT WAR!!!

  • That really is distasteful.
Besides, if we used that, don’t they have a zero gay tolerance over there? They’d have to kill their own troops.

“i would say yes…i don’t really want more gay people around…”
Fuck you, you prejudiced cunt muffin.

  • It sounds like a good idea, but yes. I don’t think it would solve the so called “issue” of the war. That would be so funny to watch though.

  • completely unethical. the existence of such a thing is hard to believe. i’m against homosexual behavior anyhow…to use it in warfare just seems extremely odd. stick to traditional weapons.

  • That is definately unethical!  If my fiance were over there fighting and I heard this news, I’d be pretty worried – and furious!  If he cheated on me or worse, if it led to a breakup/divorce, I’d be taking the Air Force to court!

  • Lord, Lord, Lord! Does the bomb also rain down condoms and such so that we don’t have to deal with the aftermath of unsafe sex? Oh, maybe that’s the real hope….unsafe sex with lots of people, aids, then death. And, gee….it isn’t even our fault.

  • yes that is horrible. what is they are really against gays and you force them to be one themselves. it is funny but i dont think it is right. i mean it is sad fighting in the war and being away from your family and then u have to worry about a bomb that might make you gay?

  • I think it’s distasteful…and I think it would show that the US is getting very desperate.

oh, and “TaberTot”, you’re a jerk.

  • MAKE LOVE NOT WAR!

lmao. i think thats hilarious. i say use the godamn homo bomb.

  • Just what we need, 20,000 enemy  troops running around looking for a place to bury there Light Sabres

  • Wow, I really don’t know.

  • I’m not surprised no money was spent on the project. The guy sounds like a frickin wack job. The government wouldn’t use that crap.

  • No way. I think a bomb that kills people is a whole lot more unethical than a bomb that makes people wanna do it.

  • Well, back in the 60s they said “Make love, not war!” Maybe this will help us achieve that.

  • Sounds like some people have way too much time on their hands. Or maybe out of ideas and desperate to have something, ANYTHING, on the report. That puts a literal spin on the “make love, not war” huh? No, individuals are the rightful owner of their lust, sexuality, and sexual orientations. Chemical to alter your perceptions regarding these rights are just unethical.

  • Make love, not war! Hahahaha…

Messing with people’s minds is unethical. Besides… can you imagine how pissed off those soldiers would be after they came out of that state? Yikes.

  • OK, making a bomb that can take out an entire city is ethical, but one that just makes them want to do each other is not? What kind of warped world is this?!

“If we use that, our country has gotten very desperate.”

Are you kidding me?! You think that making people horny is worse than blowing them to pieces? Maybe it’s not right to mess with people’s senses like that but it’s such a huge step up from mass killings i would say. But apparently it’s ok if hundreds of people die, as long as they keep it in their pants.

  • also… seriously people, the “make love, not war” pun on this was funny the first time, but not anymore. It’s not still witty the 50th time.

  • The point is that we are still dropping a bomb.  But to everyone hating gays: love is love no matter what gender you are, why do you think its so gross, its the same feeling someone straight would have, hating gays is the exact same thing as hating people of different colors.

  • To my own way of thinking the whole lot you speak is cool
