  • yeah i saw that one today

  • I’m sorry. But

    FIRST.

  • Ha! Bloody hell, that’s just a plain weird picture.

    ’nuff said….

  • steee-range.

third. thats the highest i’ve ever been!

  • did i miss something?

  • YES! Half of my goal has been reached! Yes! Amazing! YES!!!

That card pissed me off, personally. It’s wonderful one knows how to defend one’s self, but wanting a man to actually…DO something as horrible as that…no way in hell.

  • Also, who would WANT someone to do that?! It’s…ugh.

  • thats wrong. i get you can defend yourself. but do you honestly want to be put in a situation where you really HAVE to?!

  • Seriously, Dan, you’ve got to have a plan! I mean, seriously, if you could take over the world….?

    ’nuff said….

  • LMAO!

  • why do you want a man to rape you, dan?

  • haha wow. that’s pretty intense.

  • Some of these secrets are a bit disturbing. I agree with AzNGiRL4EnaH, does the person have to ask for it?

  • It’s kind of like making your myspace name something in a different language when you don’t speak that language at all. People just want to show off. This person doesn’t actually want to be assaulted, but she thinks it would be cool to be able to fend someone off and tell people about it. The idea of it seems very romanticized to someone who has never actually been assaulted and has no idea what it’s actually like. I think probably everyone has these types of thoughts at some point. They would never want certain things to happen but they fantasize about what it would be like if they did and came out the hero.

  • Some of these freak me out.

  • No this is too violent.

picture an NRA poster saying they hope their home was invaded so that they could prove they could shoot straight.

  • thats why its a secret

  • did that mean something special to you dan?

  • Rape isn’t cool, or fun. It isn’t badass to tell all your friends that you escaped from a rapist, or worse, were raped. It’s a humiliating experience which unfortunately (and wrongly) changes you in people’s eyes.

It’s a horrific experience that changes your life completely, I hate to say ‘ruins your life’ but it ruins a lot of things in your life like your feelings of safety, sexuality, security, trust, etc..

  • but it wouldn’t be rape would it?

I mean if she allowed a man to rape her? idk whatever. It’s late in the morning.

  • I don’t like that.

  • I can understand that completely. Many women feel as if they’re viewed as weak and many people want the opportunity to show that they can indeed defend themselves. I remember when I was really really small and if I was ever left alone in a car for a few minutes (which was very very rare, because my mom was snarlingly protective), my mom would always tell me to lock all of the doors. Even though I obviously wouldn’t be able to fend off an attack, I was convinced that I would be able to and would get so upset at my mom for underestimating me that I would hope for someone to try, just to prove that I could defend myself. I know now that it was a really stupid thing to think, but it’s something that a lot of people can probably identify with,

  • You are fucking deluding yourself if you think you want someone to try and rape or hurt you.  Grow the hell up.

  • I don’t think any women with normal instinct will say such thing in public. Unless they were just joking around. And I think this picture is doing exactly that. Not the funniest joke ever been told but, I understood what they were trying to say. I hope you all don’t take that seriously and get frustrated over silly thing like that.

  • “I know now that it was a really stupid thing to think, but it’s something that a lot of people can probably identify with”

Yeah, you’re right.  It is a really stupid thing to think.  And the only people who think this way have probably never been assaulted or raped themselves and have no idea how horrifically terrified you become when in that situation.  It doesn’t matter if you “know how to defend yourself”.

But of course, someone who has never been in that kind of situation would not know this and would continue to lie to themselves and pretend that they are badass enough to defend themselves from a rapist.  What a wonderful escape from reality.  /sarcasm

  • maybe that’s why it’s a secret

  • findingliberty, rape is hardly a “silly thing” and “secrets” such as these just perpetrate the ignorant stereotypes of sexual assault.  Something that is more than worthy enough to become VERY frustrated and angry about.

  • This secret isn’t about rape, it’s about being underestimated. Jesus.

  • number1puddlesplasher, unless you sent the secret in yourself, don’t assume you know what the deeper meaning behind it is.

And you said so yourself–it is a stupid thing to think.  I was merely agreeing with you.

And my name isn’t Jesus, by the way.  :P

  • And as far as being “underestimated”, most ANYONE in that kind of situation freezes up in terror.  Male, female, adult, child.  If you seriously think you can defend yourself against a rapist, you need to read up more on the accounts of actual rape survivors or how rapists think or (even better) the statistics of how calculated rapes are planned and how the rapists are often someone the victim does not suspect (family member, close friend, significant other, boss, friend’s father, etc.).

  • Haha, that wasn’t specifically aimed towards you :) But I agree with you, it’s stupid and delusional to think it, but most people are pretty delusional.

  •  where’s this from?

  • YES!! I LOVE THIS! And I love it when those rapist motherfuckers run into a woman who WILL defend herself like that and get the shit beaten out of them

  • I saved this one on my PC.

    I do that a lot.

  • I saw this one yesterday and was disturbed.

  • huh??…..scary.

  • Jill = ftw.
    & Is completely right.

  • dot. dot. dot. People, people, people. Stop reading into it like it’s a huge controversial piece of work. It’s a picture of someone slicing a pickle pretending it wasn’t a pickle and was something… else. Profanity is gross, when there are young people on here. It’s something that is supposed to make people laugh. Not a big deep thing. Nor is it saying something about Dan (at least, I hope not! Dan… I am now worried. Please please please try and soothe me because I am going to have pickle-related nightmares for a long long while, kidding) It’s just a. . . thing! So decide if you like it… or not.

  • Dan,

You KNOW I think yer FABULOUS dood….. really I do but DAYUM this post creeps me out! lol

  • First of all, I love that website.  I can understand wanting to assert yourself and prove that you can defend yourself, but being raped isn’t a good way to do it.

  • this is a serious question.  how much time do you spend readying xanga comments per day?

  • this is a serious question.  how much time do you spend readying xanga comments per day?

  • A very strange secret…

  • What an aggressive person.

  • You could go get a Black Belt and kick some a** in a tournament and prove you can defend yourself.  Obviously, that’s a cry for attention.  I hate people that create problems to have a self-induced pity party.  Rather than saying “yay, I’m a black belt and I can kick butt” they’d rather say “boo hoo, some guy tried to rape me, but I kicked his butt”.  This whole world has gone to sh*t.

  • What if the person fails to defend her/him self?

    That would suck.

  • Shit. Ow.

I love Post Secret. I’ve been meaning to send some stuff in.

  • Bittersunday….it IS about not being underestimated, though.

  • I send stuff to post secret. I’ve only seen one on the website though. I love it.

  • Wow. Whoever posted that secret is quite the moron. Or they wanted to get on PostSecret.

  • i lovelovelove postsecret.

  • I have to say I’d rather not be put in that position.

  • um.

    yeah.

  • I don’t want anyone to assault me in anyway so I don’t have to prove that I can kick their butt.

  • HAHAHAH! I saw that yesterday and cracked up.

  • I love PostSecret.

    <33

  • Ouch…

  • I love that site! I’ve read two of the books so far. I don’t remember seeing that one..but I can’t remember if I checked the site this sunday or not..I don’t think I did.

  • Why would she cut it vertically?

  • Everyone should check out the other “Secrets” posted on the postsecret website.  Another one that was sick was the one about a women giving bleach to her cat so that she would have an excuse to see her veterinarian.

  • Slow down buddy!

  • I love post secret… I liked the zombie sheltr card from last week. It was the best…

This one just scares me. What is she doing to that poor veggie?

  • 我路過架,歡迎入黎我個網頁睇睇,有小遊戲玩,又有論壇,如果你有NDS仲可以去下載遊戲玩

  • WHAT is this?!  Some kind of power trip for women?  Don’t they realize that the physical is only part of it?  It is a mental attack too, and that is where many women hit the snapping point.

  • pushing the limit is one thing, but this sir…with the kids? I know, we could have a caption that reads “Fuck me Daddy.” That’d do just nicely.

  • Do you ever sleep?

    …robot, maybe?

  • i dont get the picture

  • I love to look thru Postsecrets.

  • I love postsecret!

  • I love postsecret!

  • wow

all i cna say is wow

    Daniel (doubledb)

  • That’s sick and wrong~

  • The fact she’s cutting a cucumber vertically while saying this freaks me out for two reasons… A) How exactly is she going to defend herself against that dude and B) Who the fuck cuts a cucumber vertically?

  • Sure i’d like to know that in the moment I could turn all Rambo on someone but its okay if I never have to find out.

  • I don’t get it.

  • That’s an insult to women who couldn’t defend themselves.  So are they “weaker”???

  • I’ve gotten in fist fights before just to prove I can win.

I think my way makes a little bit more sense.

  • Naive woman.  _Enough_ was a movie.

I openly acknowledge some women could defend themselves against some men, but those situations are generally not the case.  Even the women who know how to scrap dirty (yelling in ear, biting throat, keys in the eyes, knee to the groin, etc) don’t always get away.

It’d probably be less disturbing if she wished someone would try to mug her so she could defend herself.

  • First of all, I love that website.  I can understand wanting to assert yourself and prove that you can defend yourself, but being raped isn’t a good way to do it.

I like what she put down the best. As a small and underestimated woman, I can relate to wanting others to take me seriously and being able to stand up for myself – but rape or assault is not the way to prove it. I was nearly assaulted once, when I worked alone in a store, and I would never want anyone to be put in that situation, even if they thought they could defend themselves…

  • HA!!!! That is great!!!

  • Saw that.

    The picture’s just weird.

  • I saw that ages ago…facebook.

  • I don’t need to prove that I can defend myself.  Trying to prepare yourself for an attack is wise.  Actually wishing to be attacked is foolish.

  • This isn’t that surprising to me, having heard sdtuff like this before.

  • No. It’s been said that it causes less damage then a belt, or the hand. *Spare the rod, spoil the child* I love that verse. It’s very very true. You don’t punish your child – they turn into lil devils that you can’t control. I would buy one, not a question in my mind.

  • I wouldnt want that to happen. I do want to get a gun or something in case I need to defend myself. Better safe…

  • Nice picture.

I don’t like that message, though. That girl doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

  • if you want them to rape you, it’s not rape.

personally, i don’t have to defend myself, because i have an official rape whister who is strong enough to pick me up with one arm. maybe that chick should get a guy friend who can win fights.

  • This girl must not have a clue about rape, at all.

  • my neighbor just gave me cucumbers

  • It all makes sense to me now.

  • mhmm.
    i adore this site.
    every heard of foundmagazine.com?

  • Haha. Reminds me one time a woman was on Oprah and she was raped by a man in her house, I believe [it was a few years ago, I'm not 100% on the details] but when he was mounting her she grabbed his erect penis and literally broke, like cracked it in half.

    Makes me shiver.

  • Disturbing.

  • Ouch!

  • “Be careful what you wish for,” that’s all I have to say.

  • I think she just wants to use a knife.

  • I don’t think that’s the only reason this person wants this. I have trouble believing that that thought comes from a healthy mind.

  • That’s really interesting I think.

    Terrible? Possible, but interesting none-the-less.

  • …I very much dislike that card.

  • Whoever lurks in the shadows to get raped is dealing with murder, to deal with fighting, either to kill or be killed. I would not want to do anything that might hurt me, including having to defend myself from a rapist. I would, though. I look at it this way: the dude who is doing me against my will, may someday  be my lover, (who knows?) in the future. It’s just that he wanted me so bad. I lock my doors at night, and prevent it from happening, at all costs, and not flaunt my good looks where I’ve got it, unnecessarily. I don’t hardly socialize, and never go out on a date or to parties. Not my choice, it is just that I don’t go looking for trouble from anyone.

  • noooooooooooo! that is….a crazy bitch.

  • Freaky Much?

  • You people take that too seriously. This card is HALARIOUS!
