When my wife and I got married, I wanted her to wear a dress that was traditional.  I wanted her to wear one that was puffy at the bottom.

I have heard that they call these dresses “princess dresses.”

Then there are the more modern dresses that are straight at the bottom.

I never liked that type.

Do you prefer a puffy dress or a straight dress?     

By now most of you have probably heard about the 13-year-old girl who had her feet cut off on the Superman Tower of Power ride in Kentucky.

The ride is said to have “malfunctioned” causing the girl’s feet to be severed.  Here is the link:  Link

People will begin to talk about suing and I am sure she will get several million for the feet being cut off.

One time a ride malfunction causing a serious injury to one young girl and she received $7 million for the accident.

If you were to get your feet cut off and could have them placed back on and use them, would it be worth $7 million to have gone through the experience?

I was reading an article by a professor of a college about students learning about contraception and premarital sex.  (I found this link at Xx_Collared_xX)

In the article, the professor raises the concern that contraception causes an increase in infidelity.  His concern was it leads to divorce too.  It teaches people to approach their partner with a mentality of “I’ll be faithful if you please me.”  So they are participating in sex with no long term plan.

He considers this type of sex as narcissistic and therefore “unloving.”  I want to focus on this particular thought that he raises:

“Premarital sex does not enhance a loving relationship — it, instead, develops the divorce mentality. The partners say to each other, “I’ll be faithful if you please me.” They have not pledged their lives in as sacred and social a manner as possible, and have not yet closed the doors to another sex partner.”  Here is the link:  Link

When I was in high school, I was active in my youth group.  We were told that premarital sex was selfish.  If we engaged in premarital sex, we were telling our partner that we at some level were focused on the physical.  We were allowing the sex to become the focus instead of showing self-control and waiting until marriage. 

Essentially the message was being communicated that the highest form of love was to abstain from sex before marriage.

Is premarital sex selfish?

One phrase that has been tossed around Xanga today is “Xanga Addiction.”  People used it to refer to that little something that caused them to check their sites multiple times in the same way they will hit an elevator button even after it is already been hit.

I just read an article that mentioned a group of doctors want to introduce a new classification for those who play video games too much.  They want to classify the behavior as a psychiatric disorder and label it an addiction.  Here is the link:  Link

A recent study showed that when men were shown photos of naked women, they were more likely to look at the woman’s face before looking at her body parts.
