  • The Facts

Let me give you a hypothetical.  Imagine you have been married for 10-15 years.  Imagine that one day you are sitting around with your spouse talking about previous girlfriends and previous boyfriends.

Imagine that the longer you talk the more specific you both get.  Then imagine that you are tempted to say exactly what you did do and didn’t do sexually before marriage.

Should you share that information with your spouse?

  • Excused Absences

About 2,000 students may have to repeat their grade because of a new policy that has gotten tough on absenteeism.  The Waterbury schools have a policy of not allowing students who have more than 19 absences to advance to the next grade.

The administration decided to get tough this year on absences.  So they have a policy of retaining students who have 19 or more unexcused absences.  The administration said that 19 absences is 10% of the school year.

Parents are trying to get doctor’s excuses at the end of the year.  But the administration is not accepting them.  They say that the excused absences are only granted if a student brings in the excuse right after the absence.

So they are retaining 2,000 of the 18,200 students.  Here is the link:  Link

Should a student be sent to the next grade if he/she has 19 unexcused absences?

  • Madeleine McCann

Madeleine McCann was a three-year-old British girl who disappeared when her family was visiting a holiday apartment in Portugal.

Madeleine’s parents left her and her twin two-year-old siblings in a room in the apartment.  They went to go get something to eat.  Her parents put them to bed and went to eat at a restaurant 100 yards away.  They checked in on the kids at 21:00 and then got home at 21:45.  They had left the apartment unlocked.

When they returned, they found the bed empty and the apartment door and window wide open.  Here is the link:  Link  Here is another link:  Link

There has been talk on whether it was responsible to leave the three children alone in the apartment.  The parents said they felt it was like going out and eating just outside their house.

Was it irresponsible to leave the kids in the apartment alone when they were only 100 yards away?

  • Bigger or Smaller

This is part of a message that I received about my last post in my message box:

“I am constantly looking at women and asking am I bigger or smaller than her?”  My wife always asks me if she is bigger or smaller than other women.

Do you look at other people and ask “Am I bigger or smaller than her/him?”

  • I’m Fat, And It’s OK

  • Gay Bomb

The Air Force confirmed the other day that a military researcher had requested $7.5 million to make a non-lethal “love bomb.”

The “love bomb” would “chemically alter the state of mind of the enemy troops and make them want to have sex with each other rather than fight.”

The proposal suggested, “One distateful but completely non-lethal example would be strong aphrodisiacs, especially if the chemical also caused homosexual behavior.”  (I wonder if the bomb was used and the wind pushed the fumes over to our own troops, if they would be allowed to marry since clearly then homosexuality wouldn’t be a choice).

No money was spent on the project.  Here is the link:  Link

Do you think it would be unethical to use a love bomb during time of war?

  • Helping a Friend

I received this message in my message box from someone who wanted to remain anonymous but signed her name at the end of the message:

A very close friend of yours tells you she is going to have an abortion and asks you to come with for support.

If you were against abortion, would you still go with her to support her?
