if they are being targeted for physical attacks, then there needs to be some way to secure their safety. if the special prison is the only options, then perhaps it should be looked into?

well, you’re innocent until proven guilty so I guess they have the right to a trial and everything.
I don’t know about having their own prisons built though? Confinement or just having separate quarters would be just as effective and alot cheaper.

:sigh: I just wish it weren’t that dangerous in the prisons…period. I read TJ Parsell’s book “Fish” the other week…and that book opened my eyes to the frightening world of prisons. While I realize it isn’t supposed to be a summer camp experience, what happens in prisons just isn’t right.
But terrorists? …I hate that my tax dollars are being spent on keeping them safe. The irony. Then again, like what lightningrichy said, they do have a right to a trial – and what about separate quarters?

Then there will be a whole facility full of them to target, instead of having to take them out one at a time.

I’d have to say there is a difference between a Muslim and an Islamic terrorist…wouldn’t a terrorist be considered a prisoner of war and kept at a military jail?

Um, if they put them all in one prison, doesn’t that make them an *easier* target for an outside individual? Yeah, they’ll be safe from fellow prisoners, but instead, maybe someone outside will decide to bomb their prison.

Instead of making an example of the people who commit any crime toward any group of a certain race or religion, they decide to take the easy way out and just seperate them from everyone else. Why not seperate the one’s doing the attacking in some other part of the prisons?
I think it is kind of stupid that our tax dollars would be spent on those who are in jail for trying to hurt us. But, I guess turn the other cheek and all that. I agree with the separate quarters thing.
this should be interesting to watch from a civil liberties perspective. it could be that these prisons made to protect could become prisons to oppress.

The United States has prisons based on security for low to high. I would think that the high risk prisons would be adequate to house terrorist regardless of race, religion, gender, and/or sexual preferences. The high risk prison limit exposure to other cell mates down to a very minimum since not only are they a danger to society but are a danger to each other. I do not know what kind of prison system the UK has so I do not know if their system can provide adequate security for the inmates.
LOL!!! I wonder if they realize this only works AGAINST the idea of protecting the Muslims. Now someone can attack these Muslim prisons and not have to worry as much about harming non-Muslims. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s just my opinon.

Also, it’s impractical. Put these men in a “special prison” and they will totally feed off each other’s insanity, ideas and hatred… this could be very dangerous.
This shouldn’t happen. I’m very disappointed in the UK for even considering it. WW2 isn’t that far back in memory, and they should really know better.

why don’t we make different jails for different gangs so as to protect them from each other. or maybe we should make a prison only for child molesters because they’re such a target in prisons.

In Baltimore Maryland, there are constant fights between Moslem inmates and members of established Maryland gangs. Both want rights to what they think of as”turf”. Maybe they do need seperate places.
Why can’t they just have a special separate wing for the Muslim prisoners? It seems like a waste to build a whole new prison just for them… However, they should be careful that those areas are still the same quality as the ones they left to prevent abuse by guards or others.
We should isolate them.

Should special prisons also be built for other prisoners at risk for attack? Say child molesters or mass murderers. I thought the whole purpose of prison was less the actual locking up and loss of freedom than the threat of the dangers within those confining walls. If certain people do not want to be in the general population of a prison, let them be law abiding citizens, eh.
Yes. Nobody deserves to be targeted for physical abuse. It would be unfair to put them in a regular prison because they’d get more harsh treatment then all the other prisoners.

Well, ever since the attacks of 9/11, many Muslims have been mistreated, even in the public streets. Even if they did nothing. And since many Muslims are led astray because they belong to cults where the leaders seek power and teach young people wrong principles, the world is full of Islamophobia. Thus, whenever some terrorist attacks happen or so, many Muslims get locked up and questioned even if they were innocent–even if they were just regular Muslims who harmed no one and nothing. So if many innocent Muslims are locked up in prisons, they need protection. I mean they get physically mistreated in public streets, wouldn’t they get mistreated in prisons? I believe the Muslim-only prisons is a good idea, kind of…
