it depends what you slather all over your salad, and how you have your chicken prepared. i take my asian or southwestern salad with grilled chicken and add none of the condiment packet ingredients. meaning, no salad dressing or croutons.
as for the big mac, i would omit one of the breads and the dressing. basically, i just get a plain hamburger, they taste better, in my opinion.

I think it depends on which salad you get and what you put on it, you know? I would assume topping your salad with grilled chicken is better than using fried crispy chicken. And drizzling some vinnagrette sounds a lot more appealing than soaking it in Ranch or Bleu Cheese.
