  • I think she’s just saying that so there won’t be a terror attack.

I don’t think terrorists really like Republicans, not because their tough on terror exactly, but because a lot of them are assholes.

  • No. She’s Crazy. If anything it would do the reverse…make everyone question what Bush and the Republican party has been doing to keep this country safe. People would start asking questions again like where is that Bin Laden guy? What the hell are our people dying in Iraq for while the Iraqi parliament is on vacation? She’s wrong on this one…

  • She’s probably right, much as I hate to agree with her on anything. I guess most of your readers are too young to remember how the Iranian hostage crisis helped Ronald Reagan get elected.

  • Just one more reason to keep her out of office…She’s an idiot

  • No offense, but Republicans do seem to like running elections based on fear of some kind (attacks, homosexuals, immigrants, you name it) so if it had been even a year or two ago she would have been right (in fact I think that is why Bush got reelected). However as Leonidas says at this point we’ve had years of a conservative Republican regime and things are not going very well between Iraq dragging on and Bin Laden still being out there, so actually there is a chance it may hurt them this time.

  • Since JFK, Democrats have been perceived as more concerned with domestic issues and relatively clueless on how to respond to international crises involving the U.S. (i.e. the Cuban missile crisis & Carter’s bungling of the Iranian hostage crisis to name a couple off the top of my head).

  • I guess what some people dont understand or think about is that the terrorists don’t give a crap whether they kill Dems or Repubs — we’re all the same to them.

But politically, yes, I think an *would* help the repbulicans since they seem to have a tougher stance on fighting terror and are willing to discuss the source of terror (islamic fundamentalists).

  • I can see her logic I guess; an attack would lead to the people being in fear.. being in fear means they want to be assured they are well protected… the Republicans tend to favour more national defense so the logical thing would be to re-elect a candidate from that party. But as pointed out I’m not sure it would work like that. I have to agree with some of the others that people would just question what the hell has been done since 9/11 and why they still aren’t safe.

  • I agree. I am convinced that Bin Laden will “miraculously” be found before Bush is put out of office. As for people questioning all this and it hurting the republican party rather than help, well I don’t think there would be any. Nobody has questioned too much all the money our President has pocketed from the Oil price inflation.

  • I’m pretty sure they’re planning one right now!!!

  • She’s a crazy bitch!

  • Her being president would help the terrorists.

  • She is off kilter .

  • I don’t think a terror attack would benefit ANYBODY!  Something’s wrong with that woman…

  • yeah even the terrorists are working against the democrats

  • The only thing a Terrorist attack would do is raise the terror alert level in our nation’s pants to Brown.

But really, that is a very defeatist idea on her part: “If anything goes wrong, we lose.” Just about everyone who goes by that loses… and the ones that don’t turn it into movies.

  • Can she put the other foot into her mouth?  It’s big enough.

The only way it would benefit Republicans is WE know how to deal with it.

  • Ahhhh, Hells naw! The bitch just went there!

    And she ain’t comin’ back.

  • Terror attacks would hurt our country and kill people…. not help anyone. She’s taken that thought a bit too far.

  • Why would she politicise something like that? She should have just said it would be an horrible occurance… not that it would benefit the republicans. It would most def. kill republicans and democrats alike. What an idiotic remark.

  • I love how nothing can happen in the political spectrum without the two parties rewriting what was said in their own terms. Can’t we ever just agree on reality?

As a liberal I’m inclined to say that she has a point, but as a citizen of the United States I’m a little upset that she said that. A terror attack would be devastating for our country; for the citizens of our country. But she, as many politicians do, is thinking only in terms of her personal ambitions. “How would a terrorist attack support my interests, or the interests of my opponent?” That is not, I repeat, NOT, the way a candidate for the presidency should think.

Hello, Hillary? It’s us! Down here! We’re the people you’re being nominated to PROTECT.

  • Politics is a funny game. She could’ve said the complete reverse and gotten the same reaction. It’s all about KEYwords. Like that Family Guy where Lois runs for mayor and answers the question “What are our plans to clean up our environment?” with “9/11″ and gets applause. Anyway, yes it would benefit Republicans. It would prove that we are right. We’re always right actually…

  • She doesn’t..think….good..

  • I think she’s a fool for saying something like that.  -It’s totally insane.

  • Republicans greatest weapon to win the election is one man:

    BIN LADEN

COMING TO A THEATERS NEAR YOUUUuuuuuuuuu…….

  • Hahaha, she makes me laugh.

  • Politically speaking probably would. On the human side it wouldn’t benefit anyone. The reason Clinton is in the press for having said that is because the press like to play a national game of Got’cha with the candidates. Tommorrow it’ll be something GWB said. Next!!!

  • I think a terror attack would be BAD! For the WHOLE COUNTRY– Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Greens, people who don’t care– AND THE WHOLE WORLD!

  • Probably. It would give them more reasons to stay in the war.

  • Sounds like Hillary is planning one, so yeah I’d have to say yes.

  • Not if people believe the Liberal propaganda that the Republicans are provoking the terrorists and actually planning some of the attacks. I doubt all that many people believe that though.

I think it probably would help the Republicans since the Republican Party is the one that generally has cared about national security.

  • She is playing “dirty”….just watch, it is going to get worse.

  • uggh.  she gives me the scoots.

  • uggh. she gives me the scoots.

    Is that like diarrhea?

  • exactly, this is important.

  • WTF?
Was she on dope, or what?

  • WTF?
Was she on dope, or what?

  • it totally would, it scares people, and the republican party does better with a scared population, and also people then tend to like the war again, vengeance mentality.

  • Either way I won’t be supporting the Republicans or the Democrats.

  • She’s right to some extent, and wrong to some extent, but such gall that she has to say that. I’m pissed.

Way to insult nearly half the country, woman…Their political views might be better supported, but no one ultimately craves raw masochistic destruction as she’s almost suggesting.

Unfortunately, from what I’ve heard, it might benefit Hilary Clinton herself anyway, as her views seem to be slanted towards less freedom and higher safety, just as republicans views are (with the exception of Ron Paul). Or well, I don’t know, she seems somewhat ambiguous on it. Her views are rather ambiguous on a lot of different issues. Regardless, I don’t trust her.
    -David

  • Don’t care what Hillary says.  The fact remains that we are open to any attack depending on the whims of people who want to stamp us out no matter who gets in the power position.

  • yes, quite a bit. maybe support bush more than anyone

  • Yep, she’s nuts.  Why would anyone even bring that up or think that way?

  • Politicians say the darnedest things.

I mostly think that these terrorist attacks are actually false flag operations. I know, I’m such a conspiracy theorist asshole.

  • She scares the crap out of me!

  • No, i think that somehow people would make it to prove that the republicans are doing a horrible job in office right now, which is already what a lot of people think. I can’t wage my opinion really because I don’t follow politics very much, and whether or not you are republican or democrat, conservative or liberal, it’s a really fricken hard job to be president, and that’s what all these haters need to get through their heads. This shit isn’t a walk in the park!

  • YAY FEAR MONGORING!!!! If the Republics set up another terrorist attack to help boost interest in their party good for them. I still won’t be voting for anyone Republican.

  • HA HA, how humerous

    Daniel (doubledb)

  • She’s crazy.  It will benefit nobody.  People will die.

  • I want to say something mean, like “especially if it involves hilary blowing up”…. but i won’t

  • hillary is weird…

she might have a point tho, cuz bush has our guys fighting over there she’d just pull them out if she was prez…. and if they attacted around that time bush weould be the biggets hero ever… an hillary would pretty much be forced to fight back…

tho… why would u say that? like the republicans are just sitting there like yea just come over an blow something up…

  • thats a stupid ass question………

  • Good heavens…a terrorist attack would not benefit anyone!!

  • Yes, although it’s a horrible thing to say.

  • I think that’s completely inappropriate to discuss in a campaign forum.

  • oh, good grief………

  • Hillary is an idiot.

  • Is terroism really a good way to move ahead in the polls?

    ’nuff said…

  • there she goes again!  as Pres Reagan would say…..  Does anyone remember her husband saying how George Bush was LUCKY to have 9-11 on “his watch”?    Is she inviting this?  what a bunch of loonies.

  • It would if it blew her up.

  • Yes.

I also think Hillary Clinton is the best thing to happen to the Republicans.

  • What a jerk.

  • Maybe, but she doesn’t have to mention it. By doing that it might give someone a bad idea like another terrorist attack.

  • I think what she said got misinterpreted a little but I think I know what she means and that statement taken in the right context….. I would say she is right.

  • i think that it is aweful that she would even say such a thing.

that makes it seem like republicans wouldnt mind if we had another terrorist attack, as long as they got in office. ugh.

i hate politicians and their dirty trick.s

  • A “terror attack” would benefit the bush admin because it would give them an excuse to restrict more rights, place more “mandates” for wars, and more justifications for their oppressive policies. It will also serve as a justification in their minds for the Iraq war and future attacks on other countries. However, if the U.S were to attack a country first, and then recieve a response, it would be harder to politicize and twist.

  • uh it’s pretty obvious…

when people scared—>we must fight!!!Republicans were right!

  • yes, absolutely.  because people would freak out about the terrorists once again and irrationally think that we need to bomb the f out of everyone else.

  • What.The.Hell.

It’s not going to benefit ANYONE.
People are going to die if that happens.

Politically, I have no idea, and I don’t care.

  • I hate Americans, hopefully all of the candidates will lose.

  • Who says that politicians don’t exploit deaths? Look what they did with 9/11.

  • She’s nuttier than a fruit cake.

  • I agree with Shortly what wrong with that crazy lady no more terror please Waaaaaaaaaaaa! I SCARED.

  • False flag operations. Right. Im not backing any politician but there are many extremists in arab countries that have been trying to and devising ways to kill us since like the late 70′s. They hate us for whatever reason. Wake up and do the research.
