College Dorm
Go to the post below and tell me how many guns you have.
Here we go:
We are getting to the time of the year where many are going back to college or going to college for the first time. Students are faced with decisions about priorities based on limited income.
If you had to pick between one or the other, would you rather have a computer or a fridge in your dorm room?
Comments (131)
Fridge. But that’s because I’m a fatass.
second! computer, DEFINITELY.
A computer. No contest.
A computer, durr
Computer, HANDS DOWN!!! can always borrow someone else’s ice box or just eat out! LOL
recompufrigerater
COMPUTER.
heck, I could always get on the computer and look at food if I was that desperate. Find myself some foodspo.
I’m glad most people have said computer.
half the time it’s so cold outside that depending upon where you live you probably don’t need a fridge, lol. Well slight exaggeration but seriously.
How bout half the year have a fridge, and when it gets to be winter trade it for a computer and keep the food outside?
Computer. I think I’m going to survive off Ramen anyway.
Computer for sure.
computer.
thats what corner stores and vending machines are for!
Computer!
computer.
but you *are* talking to Xangans!
computer with fridge accessories
comp
i have both but COMPUTER hands down!!! i’ve already been in my dorm for 2 weeks.
computer
Computer
Computer. Im pretty low maintainence…I’d probably just cool my beverages in the toilet tanks.. mmmm
Computer, of course. Luckily, my college provided a micro-fridge (microwave+fridge combo) to all dorm rooms. =)
But Dan, I think you’re asking this question to the wrong crowd. =p
A computer. It’s pretty much impossible to live without one of those nowadays.
Between those two? Fridge. The library probably has some computers I can use.
a computer
i can’t talk to hot men through a fridge.
Computer. You can always use the common refrigerator. Plus there is dining hall food or off campus dining. I had a fridge in my dorm room and I hardly used it.
The one time I used the refrigerator in college was when I was living in the campus apartments and I was off the meal plan (or had some sort of really limited basic plan), but then again the apt came with a fridge.
Computer! I actually have the means to purchase myself a fridge and I haven’t bothered to buy one. The computer allows me to be highly anti-social in the real world while still socializing on the ‘net.
computer
Your sampling maybe slightly skewed towards the computer since they are using computers to access this poll and that many of your subscribers must be addicted to the internet based on how quickly your comments tally up.
wow…tough call…I’m pretty much always hungry…but I do like my ‘puter….I’m gonna say undecided
Computer. My dorm in France didn’t have a fridge, and I was fine. I’m really glad I had my computer though– I also used it as a tv using a program that comes with an antennae you hook up to your usb.
Computer
Computer. You can always drink room temp beverages,
Computer. I wouldn’t want to write a twenty page paper in the computer lab.
Computer. You can load up an ice chest….
Computer. To have a fridge you really need a microwave. I have all three and only use the computer.
Computer… for my porn. Or a porn generating refrigerator.
Computer…!
Computer. All my college dorms had big fridges in the community lounge/kitchen on every floor. Whereas computer labs were ALWAYS on the first floor ONLY. Much easier to walk down the hall to grab some food so that I can sit in my room and instant message away in nothing but my skivvies.
Computer. Just get yourself a meal plan, or steal your roommate’s ramen.
I have both
But I would prefer the computer. I think I could live without a fridge.
I would have to say computer, if I had to choose one. I’m pretty lucky, I have both.
I want to say computer, but I should say fridge.
I’m lucky to have both. But the choice is obvious. A computer. And since I’m doing a weight loss thing anyway and my fridge is rarely stocked with anything other than diet soda, water, and the rare sandwich, it wouldn’t harm too much.
-David
computer, duh
meal plans pay for drinks and stuff, and you can always take a water bottle for when you want something to drink outside of that
Computer, of course.
Computer.
Computer.
I’d starve, but I’d be prepared.
Just dropped the daughter off for Year #2… Computer of course. The fridge is only for water bottles and Gatorade for after workouts anyway…
computer.. i can mooch food/drinks off others
well um… we’d all like to have had our own comp in college but really a mini fridge is much more reasonable. i got mine for $60 and used the college campus computers which got upgraded every 2-3 years.
computer. i’d rather have to walk a little ways to get my food anyway. it’d get me out and about once in a while.
computer…hands down
computer!
i can go without produce and cold drinks
but without a computer i’ll get
addiction withdrawal symptoms.
computer!
Computer definitely. Much more use.
fridge because my computer would get stolen.
fridge. i agree with “inaudible yelling”. in this day in age, there’s alot of computers in the library for everyone to use.
Computer. o__o I’ll drink tap water and warm soda if I have to. I’ll eat chips and brownies and never again touch cold milk or meat.
Favorite foods < Socializing
Both option have considerable utility, but a computer would probably be the first choice.
computer. I can use a cooler for keeping stuff cold.
computer
I’m not sure I could live without a computer in my room. We never really kept anything in our fridge anyway.
computer
During my undergrad days (which weren’t that long ago) I had a computer but not a frigde. I lucked out that every roommate I lived with had a fridge, so I never had to worry about getting one.
Oooh. Well, since I survived my college years without a computer, I guess that? Maybe? Maybe not. Argh.
at least with a computer i can download my food. or order pizza online.
Computer. Most have dorm fridges if you really can’t buy one.
computer..but i’d rather have a fridge if the computer didnt have internet access
Computer. I had a computer and no fridge last year and I was perfectly fine.
Computer! A mini fridge is a accessory and a computer is a necessity especially, to college students. I can’t imagine living with out my computer. Life would not be the same.
No decision there – COMPUTER.
computer of course
a fridge, and bring my laptop, i need lots of cold water man.
computer.
my daughter picked the computer… she got a job in the dining center so i guess she has access to food
Computer.
But I live in a dorm to where I’m lucky enough to have both. :]
computer…def….
wouldn’t always have money to put something in the fridge…but there’s ALWAYS porn on the internet…
Computer. IS THIS EVEN A CONTEST??
Computer.
Computer.
computer hands down
fridge, just because almost all colleges have a computer lab.
Having a laptop would probably be smart – you can still have room for a refrigerator.
fridge – you ca always go to a lab
Definatly a computer.
) will all answer computer?
You do realize that all your subscribers who sit on the computer all day and xanga
(myself included
Comp
Well, I have both…but that’s because my roommate brought a fridge. I’d rather have my computer. I love getting emails. BUT I am very thankful that we have a fridge.
computer- how else would i check xanga?
computer. absolutely no contest at all.
Computer…you dont want to live in the lab doing your homework all the time!
The question I got…Laptop or Desktop?
COMPUTER!!! I need one of those to survive!
Computer.
been there, done that and the answer is…. i don’t have one.
Computer, definitely. Mostly cuz d fridge will not print my papers n has d worst spell check.
computer
fridge. I neeeeeeeeeeed my drinks to be cold. Plus….you can easily walk 6 feet to your neighbor’s and use theirs.
computer. all the way. im a tech freak.
Computer
Fridge.
Although no computer would be tough.
Laptop.
=]
My college provided mini-fridges to all dorm rooms so I’d say computer.
Computer…
I seem to be an outsider on this one… I couldn’t have made it thru college without my fridge!! We DIDN’T have a common one on my dorm floor, and I am a night owl, so the dining hall hours hardly ever worked for me… FRIDGE FRIDGE FRIDGE!!!
computer.
im lucky, ihave both in my dorm room!
aaaaaaaaand im on here when i should be getting to class
If I was a struggling dorm student, I’d choose a fridge over a comp. Most universities if not all have state of the art computer labs anyways. If I’m dying to get online at a late hour, I’d find a nice cyber cafe.
computer
computer
Definately, for sure, a computer! You can get a meal plan for the campus cafeterias or go out to eat. And you can always share your buddy next door’s fridge and stock up on snacks that you don’t have to refridgerate.
If the food at most colleges is like that at my community college I’d take the fridge. I’ll use the library if I need to use the computer.
a computer because you can always steal/borrow out of someone else’s fridge easier than trying to use someone else’s computer that has a password
a computer because you can always steal/borrow out of someone else’s fridge easier than trying to use someone else’s computer that has a password
definitely computer!! it’s my lifeline! …plus unless we have a medical condition and meds. need refrigeration we can’t have a fridge in our dorm oh well…i survived a year without it i think i can survive three more
A computer with a water based coolant that would keep my computer a cool 50 degrees so I could store fruits and veggies in its case or around it.
computer
I can live with dry food
I am in the minority here but I would have to say fridge-I eat if I have insomnia…while on the computer-ooh tough choice but alas I say fridge…
who choses the fridge? honestly computer is life.
Computer.
Computer!
Computer.
can I have a computer IN a fridge?
Computer
Computer.
COMPUTER!! Seriously, I’m in college now and without a computer, life would suck ass. i have a fridge too, but only because my brother didn’t have a place to take his. the only thing i really keep in there is water and starbucks fraps. so yeah COMPUTER
Computer, without a doubt.
Computer… that’s a no brainer.
computer all the way
Computer.
Loaded question – ask someone who doesn’t have a computer.
Definitely a computer.
Computer, definitely.
computer 100%
