Gun Ratio
I want everyone to participate in this so we get an accurate number.
I posted in my photoblog that the U.S. is the most armed country. The U.S. has 90 guns for every 100 citizens.

There is one gun currently in my home, a 12 gauge. I do not own it though, my significant other, Tom does. It was passed down to him from his father. I used to own a few guns years ago, a 12 gauge, a 357 Magnum, and a SKS. I’m not a huge gun enthusiast so I don’t know what kind of SKS it was… it was just used to hunt with. I had to sell the guns, though to help pay for some bills.

We have a LARGE assortment. Its nice to take them to the range and play, it’s a soothing hobby. And they are in a very expensive, heavy, tall gun safe bolted to the wall. Well… There are 24 guns in my home and 2 or 3 handguns.
My grandfather was a very big hunter and spent his life collecting guns. When he died, we got them all. Most of them sit in the gun case year round except for the occasional trip to the gun range.

Thanks, BTW. It took me about 6 hours to finish the sumo, so not too bad, but the canvas was nice and small. The sumo is now hanging in my parents bathroom. I guess it didnt make the cut for the bedroom wall, like the other painting of some hummingbird which came out totally lopsided.

His dad has his license to carry, and to instruct, and owns several guns of many different types … possibly as many as 8.
My Dad has two, one is actually just a pellet gun. We have never used either one.

I’m a bit shocked at the horror Theo Cafe people responded with. You would have thought Dan had asked you if you stomp Kitties or something. Owning a gun doesn’t make you a thug, a cretan, or a evil person. A legally obtained firearm may be the only thing one day standing between you and great bodily harm, or that of a family member. 0. I’ve thought about buying one. Mainly due to the fact we believe we live next to a drug house. But I think I’ll just stick another lock on the door.

I know I’m late on this one…just ran into it surfing around…I don’t own any guns…my father (despite your obvious request not to talk about family member’s firearms) always threatened that there was a gun in the house…I easily found his porn stash growing up…pretty sure I woulda found the gun…
And a friend of mine recently had me sign some form from the police station in his town attesting that he was sane and rational and therefor competent enough to have a firearm in the new house he just purchased for his burgeoning family.
Not sure how I feel about owning one myself…I’m fairly irresponsible…not that I would be using it to shoot birds that interrupt my morning slumber on the weekends…but I’d think about it…I will say this…every movie I’ve ever seen about zombies or alien invasion…makes the prospect of a gun in the house more plausible…could be the basis of my irresponsibility right there…
