  • Parenting and Britney Spears

Lynne Spears, the mother of Britney Spears, is writing a book about parenting.

Britney Spears' Mom To Pen Tell-All Book

The book will be titled “Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World”  The focus will be “Lynne Spears’ personal story of raising high-profile children while coming from a low-profile Louisiana community.”

The book will focus “purely on her skills as a mom.”  Here is the link:  Link

If you were writing a parenting book, what one piece of information do you think every parent should know?

  • Baby Girl

A Xanga friend of mine is pregnant and is having a girl.  She is trying to think of a girl’s name and can’t decide on one.  So she needs us to help come up with a girl’s name.

Name a girl’s name that you like.

  • Preventing Terrorism

Andrew Sullivan was on Bill Maher’s show the other day and he said he had two questions for the Republican candidates:  “If you could go back in time and abort Osama Bin Laden would you do it? The other is that if you could prevent a terrorist attack by having sex with a man would you do it?”  Here is the link:  Link

If you could prevent a terrorist attack by having sex with someone of your same sex would you do it?

  • Gay Or Bi

Do you think more people claim to be gay or bi because they think is makes them cool?

  • Child Labor and Gap

It is being reported that children as young as 10 were making clothes in what is called a “sweatshop” in India that would be sold in Gap stores.

The children are said to have been sold to the sweatshop by their families.  The children would not be allowed to leave until they repaid the debt.

The workers would work some days as long as 16 hours.  Some of them were not being paid because they were told they were still trainees.  Here is the link:  Link

When I read stuff like this about Gap and Walmart, I think it would be hard for them to keep up with what every supplier is doing.

Do you think Gap is responsible for the age of workers and working conditions of its suppliers?

  • Fire

Let me give you a hypothetical.  Imagine you live in California.  Imagine the fire is coming your way.  In one hand you have a child.  You have one free hand open with just enough time to grab one final item.

You see your wedding photos and you see your pet cat.

Do you grab the cat or the wedding photos?

  • Ice Cream

What is your favorite type of ice cream?

  • Argument

I was just reading an article that made mention of a July report of Psychosomatic Medicine that found “that married women who bottled up their feelings after an argument were four times as likely to experience declining health as women who expressed their feelings openly.”  Here is the link:  Link

Some people bottle up their feelings in order to keep the peace while others are willing to express their thoughts in an argument.  Bottling up your feelings can lead to depression and other problems.

Do you think you are the type to argue or the type to bottle up your feelings?

  • iPhone

I am about to update again but I want to leave this discussion open to discuss the iPhone.

So give your general thoughts about the iPhone.

Does anyone know if you can update your xanga site with an iPhone?

Have you kept in contact with your high school friends since you graduated?
