  • Murder and Racism

Renato Hughes has been charged with murder.

    Photo

Renato and two of his friends broke into a house in California.  The homeowner shot his two friends to death.  Now Renato is charged with murder.  California has a Provocative Act doctrine.

“The Provocative Act doctrine does not require prosecutors to prove the accused intended to kill. They have to show that it was reasonably foreseeable that the criminal enterprise could trigger a fatal response from the homeowner.”

One of the residents in the home was beaten with a baseball bat and suffered brain damage.  He can no longer feed himself.

But the issue of controversy is Renato being charged with the murder of his two friends who were assisting him in the crime.  Here is the link:  Link

Do you think Renato should be charged with the murder of his two friends?

  • Debate

I am watching the debate and the question has just been asked, “Is human rights more important than security?”

Are human rights more important than security?

Question # 2  Are we winning the war in Iraq?

    Question # 3  Was NAFTA a mistake?

Question # 4 Is Hillary playing the gender card?

Question # 5  Is Wolf Blitzer an idiot?

Question # 6   Why do we always take questions from undecided voters?  Are they deeper than the rest of us for taking so long to back a candidate?

Question # 7 Since no 9/11 terrorists came through the southern border, is the closing of the Mexican/American border important to the fight against terrorism?

Question # 8 If you were running for president, would you require Supreme Court nominees to be pro-choice?

Question # 9  Is Hillary Clinton too polarizing to bring our country together?

  • FoxNewsPorn

A friend of mine sent me a link concerning Foxnewsporn.  The person from the blog put together a bunch of video footage from the FoxNews channel to show how racy their topics were.

The video footage will appear racy so I am warning you in advance but it is actual footage from FoxNews.

    Here is the video:  Link

My friend mentioned that FoxNews is far racier than the other news stations.

    Is FoxNews too racy?

  • Betting On the Afterlife

I am wondering how many people are that confident that God does not exist.  So imagine you were offered $1 million.

If you die and there is no heaven and hell, you have lost nothing.  However, if you take the $1 million and there is a heaven and hell you will go to hell for taking the $1 million.  (This post is inspired by a message from Randy).

Would you take the $1 million?

  • Xanga Meetings

I am meeting fellow xangan RdKingClassic03 tomorrow because he is stopping through while on a hunting trip.

If you could meet one person from xanga that you have never met in real life, who would you want to meet?

  • Trading Your Vote

Two-thirds of NYU students said they would exchange their right to vote in the next election for president for a year’s tuition.

    ipod

20 percent said they would exchange their vote for an iPod.

This is the part that got me though.  Half of them said they would give up their “right to vote forever for $1 million.”  The thing that surprises me is that that means half of them wouldn’t give up their right to vote for $1 million.  Here is the link:  Link

I would give up my right to vote forever in a second for a $1 million and I am not even materialistic.  I am just that convinced that one vote doesn’t make a difference.

What is the least you would give up your right to vote for?

    1.  $1 million:  No ability to vote forever

    2.  College tuition for a year:  2008 Presidential election

    3.  iPod:  2008 presidential election

  • Child Support

I have a friend on xanga who sent me a message and she gave me permission to link her.  This is her site:  thatpregnantgal.

This is her issue in her words:

“So, Dan…i have a question that maybe you could help me out with. As everyone that reads my site knows, Matt (the father of Lucas) wants to sign away his rights. I’ve been getting such mixed answers when i ask people for advice.

    1. Let him sign them away and have him completely out of our lives. This would secure the fact that he could NEVER come back at me and try to get custody when Lucas is older.

    2. Don’t let him sign them away. This would make him pay child support, which would be a maximum of 50 dollars each month, but it would also give him the option of fighting me for custody if he ever decided that he wanted it.”

If she is only getting $50 a month, is she better off just keeping the father out of her life?

  • DUI and a Scooter

A handicapped man is facing DUI charges because he drove his motorized scooter after he had been drinking.  I got this link from MommyofTomandElandJo.

His lawyer is arguing that his motorized wheelchair should not count as a violation against the DUI law.  The man is suffering from cerebral palsy and cannot use his legs.  He believes he should be charged with being drunk in public but not DUI.  Here is the link:  Link

Should drinking and then riding in a motorized wheelchair count as a DUI?
