  • Third Term

President Bush and President Clinton will never get to serve out a third term.  I am convinced that Bill Clinton would have won a third term if he was able to run in 2000.  No matter what anyone says, I am convinced that President Bush would win the election if he ran again too.

But the whole issue got me thinking.

If President Bush was running against President Clinton in 2008, who do you think would win?

  • It’s just too terrible to even consider!

  • clinton… Because we are idiots…

  • Seriously though….. Bush…. easily!

  • oh gosh.. wow i don’t know..

  • Not that Clinton is a bad guy… but don’t you find it odd… well I do anyway, that Presidents seem to do so much more for the country once they are out of office then when they are in.

  • wow hard to say, i would hope clinton since i was economically more happy during his reign and i think safety is the biggest farce of the decade.

  • Democrats hate Bush and some Repulicans hate him too. Clinton FTW.

  • Hard to say, but it’s the fashion to hate Bush unreasonably these days.

  • Unfortunately, Bush.

Personally, I’d go for Clinton. Hey, so there was Monica, but at least half the world didn’t hate us because of his presidency.

  • The elf-eared guy from Texas

  • I hate to say it, but Clinton would win.  And cigar sales would go thru the roof!!

  • No way in hell Bush would win again.  If he did, then America deserves what it gets for being so goddamn stupid.

  • Sadly I do not know much about the elections in the US -  It will be hard to decided

I have put both names in the hat and I have pulled out the piece of a paper with Clinton’s name on.

  • Clint….Eastwood!

  • It’s just too terrible to even consider!    ~ KymmandDan

    Sadly I agree.

  • Realistically speaking, Bill Clinton would definitely win.  Republicans have lost their religious based.

Just look at popularity polls.  Bush is well below 40%.  At the end of Clinton’s presidency everyone wished he could have run again.  I don’t think we can say the same for Bush.

  • Clinton.  America would want another sex scandal.

  • Hmm… I think that Clinton might win.

  • I wish Bill Cinton could run again. He was a great president.

  • bush has a 30 percent approval rate.

and plain facts aside, he would not make it through the primaries without being assassinated. guarantee it.

  • in 2008, Clinton by a landslide. If it were back in 2000 though Bush would have won handily. 2004 it would have been close, but I still think Clinton would have taken it.

  • I hope that pitted against each other they would become such a hazard that Ralph Nader would step in and be elected to help change things. . .

  • Clinton – no contest.
I’d NEVER vote for him (or her!) though

  • Do you mean with or without their prior terms taken into consideration? With, Clinton no doubt. Without, Bush hands down.

  • Clinton. At least, I hope it would be Clinton.

  • Clinton would for sure. I’m actually relatively positive that if Bush ran again he would not win this time. Just because he seemed unfavorable at the time of his re-election and still won doesn’t mean he would win again, especially considering the simply overwhelming hatred against him by the USA at the present moment. The polls around the time of his re-election regarding the people’s appreciation for Bush weren’t at all-time lows as they are now.

  • Clinton should win. No more Bush plz.

  • There is no way Bush would win again if he could run for president again. There are alot of people upset with him, democrat and republican. If I had to choose between Clinton and Bush, i would choose Clinton easy. He was the more fiscally conservative between the two and he did alot less to expand the government, unlike Bush. That’s sad that a democrat beat a republican in those two areas.

  • every_step_of_the_way: He’s made it this far without being assassinated, so…

  • Clinton, hands down. When Bubba left the office, he was–and still remains–extremely popular.

RYN:  I am sure you are right, Dan, that the XangaGods did not mean to offend anyone.  The fact remains that that mini perpetuates a myth – that pit bulls are dangerously aggressive dogs – killers, even – and I know better.  As a pit bull owner, I feel I have a responsibility to educate people who don’t know any better and that is all I am doing.  If a dog is mistreated, it could become aggressive and dangerous – and this goes for any dog.  Education is the key, here!  These dogs have gotten a bad rap and I do what I can to fight the myths with facts.

  • Clinton, of course.

  • Look, Dan!  Now it says, “A pit for you…”
    This is so much better!!!

I’m giving you this one because you can’t get a dog of your own!  Enjoy!  If he is like my Brooke, he will want a lot of attention – belly rubs and such!

  • Interesting question….I’m not sure what this statment from the above comment  means,

Republicans have lost their religious based.

  • Considering how close the previous elections were, how Bush is less popular now than in 2000 and 2004, and how much more popular Clinton is than Gore or Kerry, I’d put a lot of money on Clinton winning over Bush.

If Bush ran again, he’d be competitive considering stuff like the “hidden” biases against women/blacks and just that a lot of people do prefer him, but to win again? Guess it’s possible.

  • Right now, Clinton would.  Although Clinton was less popular at the end of his last term, than he is now.  Now some time has passed and people feel some distance from all the scandal.   But I don’t think Bush would win again. . .at least not right now.

  • You have got to be kidding me. How can you realistically think that Bush could even come close if he could run this next election?

If there was such a race, it would be a great time for a very strong 3rd party man to make huge 3rd party progress. (whatever that would be.)

I’d like to elect the Fair Tax as President if that is possible.

  • Clinton!! althou my dad would say Bush!

  • Clin-tonn

I like the man, what can I say?

  • Clinton.  That man oozes charm from every pore.

  • huh. I have no clue. Honestly, I’m not anxious to re-live EITHER presidency!!!

  • Bush would win if Karl Rove was running his campaign. Hillary’s recent nosedive proves the American people are smarter than most people give them credit for being in that regard.

  • Clinton left office with a 67% approval rating.

    Clinton, without a doubt.

  • Dan if you seriously think The USA is stupid enough to elect Bush again, then you have lost all hope in our country.

Can’t say I can disagree though.

  • Clinton. The economy was a heck of a lot better in his days, AND the entire world didn’t hate us.

  • Bill Clinton. Bush has no one to support him now. Everybody hates this stupid war and the way he’s effectively ruined our reputation. And, if he tried running, Bush might even be assassinated.

  • Clinton.
I don’t think there are enough retards who still think Bush is competent for him to win.
However, I have a sick feeling he might.
    I don’t know. Clinton FTW.

  • Good question!! I’d say Clinton since so many people hate Bush now.

  • I think it would be someone from an independent party

  • bush would not win….

he has the lowest approval rating

  • I am not quite sure although I would be voting for Bush, Clinton wreaked havoc on the military during his time in office.  I would hate to see that happen again…

  • Probably Clinton, he has the ability to change his tune completely and have no one call him on it, thus he could run on completely different platforms every four years.  He has that ability because the media loves his socialist ways.

  • I wouldn’t vote for either one though.

  • Bush wouldn’t win; are you serious?

    Are you serious?

    And Bill probably wouldn’t either.

I’m pretty sure people are as sick of both of them as I am.

I’d take Willy over Mike “burn the gays” Huckabee any day, though.

  • cliton

bush has fucked up wayy too much for anybody to ever re-elect him again

  • not the american people

  • The only reason I figured Clinton would win his second term was because the Rep didn’t have a strong enough candidate. Dole is a good man, but just wasn’t President material…in my opinion. I think there are people that would vote for Clinton in a heartbeat simply because they admire how he seems to be able to get away with stuff. If EVERYONE voted that could vote, I’ll bet it would be a close race. Scarey to think there are THAT many people that would want Clinton back in the White House…but then some people think life is one big party!

Who do YOU think would win Dan?

  • *sigh*

We need BOTH  the Clinton and Bush families OUT of the office. I think a law needs to be passed regarding family members from running.

  • I would have to say Clinton on this one

  • It’s a toss up – Conservatives hate Clinton and liberals worship him.

  • *sigh*

    We
need BOTH  the Clinton and Bush families OUT of the office. I think a
law needs to be passed regarding family members from running.

    Amen!

  • Silly young people.  Clinton would win, but by no means would he be the better choice.

  • Clinton.

But then again, I don’t think Bush would win again if they managed to put him up against a viable candidate instead of our retarded friend from Massachusetts.

  • Clinton.

  • Bill Clinton would win with a record breaking 90%* of the popular vote. People are so sick of George Bush right now that even his own party is turning against him [further proof that "parties" are a useless organization, but that's an entirely different subject.]

*This number assumes that Clinton and Bush are the only candidates running for office.

  • Duh.

Bush has made us a laughing stock in the whole world.

Bush has caused the slaughter of many people over a lie.

Bush has done all this because  of a personal agenda.

By comparison, Clinton’s inability to keep it in his pants pales.

  • Bush… easily. That’s just why Hillary will never win the White House.

  • I would say Clinton. Then again, I’m in the middle of the Northeast USA…not a Republican state in sight! I know the rest of the country is really different though, so maybe Bush would have a better chance than I think.

  • I’d rather it be Bush, but I would guess people have forgotten the Clinton years and therefore would vote him in again.

  • I do not endorse him in any way, but I think Clinton would win simply because people are ready for a change.  My guess is that they don’t care if the person is republican or democrat – they just want to see a different face.

  • I can’t answer this question without retching a little.

  • Of course Bush would rig… err… win the election a third time. You think Clinton would stand a chance when it came down to him and Bush… and his brother in florida… and his father the former President and ex-head of the CIA who has the resources to fix… errr… win an election?

Oh yeah, what ever happened to good ol’ Presidential assassinations? You’d think with all the whacked out people we have running around these days, Bush would’ve been “impeached” by now.

  • VOTE FOR MAYOR QUIMBY!!!!

  • I was disappointed in the american people when they re-elected Bush in 2004.  I would lose all faith in humanity if, despite everything that’s happened since then even, they still chose him.

I would hope Clinton would win.  Clinton may have fooled around with an intern, but Bush has added yet another huge strain on our education system, tried to take away more women’s rights with little conscience as to their safety, and gotten us in such a huge mess of a war that 6 years later we still see no end in sight.  Do people really still fail to see why he sucks as a president???

  • Do you honestly think Bush would win a third term if he could run? I believe half of his voters are now fed up with him.

I hate to say it but Bush might win against clinton for the fact that there’s more conservatives than liberals. But then again as I said, people are fed up with him. I know very few Bush supporters these days.

  • I also want to point out Saphira07′s comment. It wouldn’t be a good idea going around Europe saying you’re a Bush supporter. It wouldn’t be a good way to make friends.

  • If Bill and Dubya ran against each other, I think Clinton would win. I wouldnt waste a vote on him though…or his wife.

  • I’m seriously considering writing in Chuck Norris.  (lol)

  • 2008 Clinton, but only because people aren’t too fond of Bush right now. Now back in 2000 Bush would’ve had it over Clinton anyday

  • Clinton.  The public finds his lies so much easier to believe.

  • People are cowards, and therefore they would vote for Clinton.

  • Clinton. I would like to see how he would be as first man, though that would mean putting his wife in office.

  • clinton was a good present. Bush was not

    the question is ridiculous

  • For sure Clinton. Bush barely made it last time, and his approval rating has gone way down since.

  • it is a scary thought… I hope flipper wins

  • > I’d vote for BILL, without a moments hesitation…. He did accomplish far more positive things than negative, and the judgement of all else will be the opinion of history….

    Peace
