I now have Facebook and one thing that has amazed me is that some people on xanga are on Facebook and Myspace constantly. Not to mention that some of you are on youtube all the time.
I am wondering in the grand scheme of things if there is any redeemable value to time spent on the Internet. I am not talking about time spent researching homework or doing assignments. I am talking about this time we spend interacting with others on the Internet using social networks.
Is there any value to spending time on social networks?

I had someone complain one time about people on friend lock and I posted about it. If I remember correctly the person was upset because people would discuss issues on my site and even say things about other users and yet the person was on friend lock. I didn’t see a problem with it.
But recently I had two people who consistently comment on my site. They come by and discuss every day or they do often. I went to check on these sites and the people were on friend lock.
So I sent each of the people a friend request. Two of these people declined my friend request. So I have at least two people who comment consistently on my site who are on friend lock and they have declined me.
Is it fair to comment on someone’s site but not add them to your friend list when you are on friend lock?
