  • Swatting

Back when I was in school, there was a form of discipline called “swatting.”

You had to bend over and the teacher would hit you on the butt with a board.  I had it done twice.  It could hurt for 30 minutes.  Some kids would even cry.  There was a teacher who was known to hit kids hard.  He would take a step into it and swing like a baseball bat.

We could hear it down the hall if he swatted a kid.

I wonder if this wouldn’t fix some of the current problems in school.  If kids had a fear of the swat, I think they would give the teacher less grief.

Do you think teachers should be able to swat kids?

  • Encouraging a Troop

If you haven’t yet, go encourage this man serving our country:  Cotaroba

  • Future

    This question is from X_jshawty18_X:

If you had a chance to get a one-second glimpse of your future, would you take that chance?

  • Prayer Time

Muslim students at universities in Australia have asked the schools to adjust class times around daily prayer times.

The La Trobe University International chief officer John Molony has said that his school would not make the adjustments for the prayer time saying “We are a secular institution.”  He also said that the students knew it was a secular institution before they went to the school.  Here is the link:  Link

I don’t think that the school should change class times in the middle of the year.  But I wonder what sort of adjustments are reasonable for future class schedules.

Do you think a school should factor in prayer times in the making of the schedule in order to make schooling practical for people of faith?

Which movie do you think deserves the award?

  • Discrimination Against the Beautiful

Two passengers on a plane claim they were mistreated on the plane by the flight crew because they are pretty.

They claim that the flight crew was rude to them.

One of the girls said, “I think they were just discriminating against because we were young decent-looking girls. I mean, nobody else on the plane looked like us except us.”

It appears that the focus of the rude behavior was on other women, “[The flight attendants] were like older ladies. We were younger. Who knows, they could have been just jealous of us because we were younger.”

Do you think women tend to discriminate against women who are more attractive than them?

  • Tramp Stamp on the Wedding Day

I was just reading an article in the New York Times about how women are stepping out of tradition with wedding dresses.

According to the article, more women are using wedding dresses that show their “cleavage, midsection, lower back or thigh, temptress styles.”

The article discussed a woman who had her “tramp stamp” showing.  Here is the link:  Link

Do you think it makes a woman look sleazy to have a tramp stamp showing on the wedding day?

  • Questioning God

If you could ask God one question, what would you ask Him?

  • Fly Open

If a guy you don’t know very well has his zipper in his pants open in public, do you tell him?

  • Music

I noticed that when I like a song, I tend to like the rhythm or beat of the song.  I can really like a song and never even know the lyrics.  But I noticed that there are others who appear to know all of the lyrics of their favorite songs.

What tends to attract you to a song, the rhythm and beat or the lyrics?
