I don’t have to ask them anymore, LOL…haven’t for like 10 years now…but back in the day definitely my mom. She’s such a pushover at times, haha. Have a great day Dan!
My parents got divorced when I was five. So my mother.
My mom, my dad I am no longer in touch with.
Who asks?
I just yelled, “I’m outta here bitches!” as I was walking out the door…
Are those your parents? My mom, she’s much more likely to help me out.
My dad.
Dad – he let my mom be the unpopular one.
My mom,but to buy something it was my dad. Are they your parents?
Definately mom.
Either… As I got older I didn’t ask I just left notes and called to tell them where I was…
This was usually the point I’d work Mom against Dad to get exactly what I wanted, and assuming they didn’t figure it out and beat me siz ways from Sunday; I got exactly what I wanted every time. Hopefully my kids never learn this trick.
My dad died in front of me when I was 6.
So, mom…when I was living with her.
I would have probably gone to the one with the real power at home. That would have been my mother.
My mom
i would say mom but mom does want a reponsability , so kmnow i ask dad.
Usually my mom as my dad is often away offshore working..
Dad…He was more lenient…
well that would depend on what year it was… thou mostly mom… since I lived w/ her mostly… but really I never had to “ask” but let her know and make sure we didn’t have any family obligations…
definitely dad
mom
Haha, I’d ask one and if that didn’t work, I’d ask the other
Mom. Definitely my mom since my dad’s answer to everything is no…still is no…some things just don’t change.
I can so tell that’s your dad. You look exactly like him. And if it’s not him, the resemblance is uncanny.
My mom, I don’t have a choice.
It depended on what it was… Most of the time I’d ask Mom first. If Mom said no, then I’d ask Dad!
My dad, because my mom would have told me to talk to him anyway!
Ask when expecting the answer is likely to be no? Na, im just going to shut my bedroom door, pretend im alseep, and have someone come get me so my car is still at my curb. Or just lie and say im going somewhere like walmart…
I always asked my mom unless money was involved, then I would hit pop up.
Mom because she was a stay at home mother. Rarely asked Dad, but the funny thing was, I was a Daddy’s girl.
My dad… my mom becomes critical quickly
DAD
Dad. Mom would give me a lecture on why I really don’t need to go there, and if I’d planned better…yada yada yada…Dad would just say, “If you think that’s best, if it makes you happy, I’m all for it!”
My mom. They were both mildly overprotective, but my dad was a little bit more.
Neither, they’re both jerks.
neither, they would just tell me to watch wherever I want to go on TV since it’s OBVIOUSLY the same as going there.
Mom
Well, since I’m the mom now, my kids ask me because I’m the boss.
well only my Dad was around so I didn’t get much a choice. then again, there wasn’t really anywhere to go!
Mom
*Mom*
Mom
I guess I’d ask my mom, since my dad was rarely ever around
My mom, definitely.
Actually, probably my dad. Even though my dad was stricter! My mom was often Dr No in my house. By which I mean she said No much more often than my dad.
If those are your parents you look just like your dad. Although I can kind of see your mom in you too.
My mother. She was my only parent that I lived with one I hit the age of wanting to go out.
daddy.
also, would ask him after mom said, “no”
My mom. My dad was a lot more protectivve and didn’t like driving around / travelling that much. But he’d still do it, if he had to.
My dad.
My mother is a crazy bitch.
Dad because he would say, “Ask your mom.” Then I would say to Mom, “Dad wanted me to ask you if we could (insert childish scheme here).”
I realize now I was totally transparent.
MOM!
my mom. she’d tell me to ask my dad anyway, but at least she’d feel that she were important enough too for me to ask first rather than to always ask my dad.
i take back what i said… they both always tell me to ask each other.
Tough one.
I would check with both parents.
It doesn’t really matter to me. I would have gotten the same answer (or very close) from both. But usually Mom anyway.
AS A KID
depends on where I wanted to go
If I wanted to go to a movie…late night- mom
If I wanted to drive cross country- Dad
That video is great!
When I was growing up, I always asked Mom. Pop just never had a clue.
My dad, because if I asked my mom she would always say “Go ask your dad”.
Mom!
I asked my mom. She said no, from a gut feeling. Next time I’ll ask my dad. Also, if they got divorced and I was younger and had to choose, I would move in with my dad.
Didn’t matter. Either one that I asked used a delaying tactic of asking what the other had said. If I didn’t have an answer it was go ask them, if I did there was no reason to ask because they always followed up and I was screwed if I made one up.
I don’t really have to ask anymore, but when I did, my dad, usually. He was more laid back.
Mom. My parents were divorced before the whole “ask to go out” thing for me, but if they were together, it would have definitely been my mom…she’s the cool one.
Dad. Mom automatically says no. Dad says ask mom. Mom then says okay.
my mum..because dad would ask..what would your mum say.
My mom…she’s always been the more compassionate and understanding parent, although my dad has mellowed out some.
Usually my mom, which wasn’t so much a strategic move as it was she worked from home, so I’d see her first.
I liked the last entry about women’s hair. I think I counted six out of more than 130 commenters who preferred short hair. The majority said they preferred women’s hair long. Some people conceded some women could “pull off” short hair. I thought I’d raise the point that some women can’t actually “pull off” LONG hair. I would if I could, but my hair is very fine, and if it gets much past chin-length, I start to look like a strung-out hippie. Just another perspective …
Now, are we going to see an entry about men’s hair?
my mom
My mother.
Mom.
I usually went to my mom, she sort of was the scheduler of our social affairs…and she was a little bit more lenient. Is that a picture of your parents Dan?
neither… that’s why we have therapists….
My dad, hands down, no competition. Specially if mom was gone cause then he couldn’t say the dreaded “Go ask you mom.”
Hmm… it depends on the situation but I normally ask my dad first if I know my mom won’t let me go at first. If it’s something like staying home from school, I ask my dad, but if it’s something like getting my hair done, I ask my mom. My mom’s mean so I guess the final answer would be my dad.
My dad. I probably could’ve gone up to my mom and said, “Can I go to school?” and she would’ve automatically said no without even listening to what I said.
I can only wonder where you get your inspiration for your questions… does your wife get asked first or do you? lol
I always had to ask my mom because my dad would always just say “go ask your mother”.
As a child, Dad was at work for most of the day so if I wanted to be taken to the park or something, Mom had to do it. Typically, who I would ask was determined by two factors which varied based on what I wanted to do:
1.) Selfishness: Who would be more understanding of what I wanted?
2.) Convienience: Who was easier to ask? Was one in the room? etc.
mummy.
I’d ask my mother because of general stuff and my father in aspects of university stuff.
You look like your father.
Wow…is that a pic of your folks Id say mom…back in the day when i had to ask my dad was never home.
dad…
Mom, dad died when I was 13. That was not a good year for me.
Mom…it was always mom.
mom, but then she’d just tell me to ask dad… =
In my family, if I ask mom, mom will say, ask dad. I run over to dad, and dad will say, what mom said?
So, what I am saying is, my parents work as a team, if one said no, the other will.
Mom . . . Dad died when I was young.
Daddo
My dad just tells me to ask my mom, so I generally start with her and get an answer. My dad doesn’t like saying no to me, and he usually is too busy with other stuff to keep track of when I should and shouldn’t go someplace…
Totally depended on what I was trying to weasel out of them as to who (whom?) I would ask.
My mom, she is a push over and would sweet talk my dad. Xo.
Many times, my mom would say, “go ask your dad.” If she did, we would wait until he got home from work and was nearly passed out in his daily afternoon nap to ask him. Then usually he would just mumble “sure, whatever” just to get us to be quiet. (or maybe he didn’t realize what we were saying at all.) Sometimes this backfired.
@MayoKetchup - Haha, I just have to laugh at this. Unless you were serious, sorry. =/
Actually, I don’t ask my mom or dad, i have to ask my older brother
Mom, my dad is far more strict
I always ask my mom first. She always gives me clues by what she says if it’s even worth asking my dad. Then I ask my dad. lol
My dad. Your parents are lovely
my mom..if i asked my dad he would just say that we had to talk to my mom about it. my dad is gone 3 weeks out of every month, so my mom is pretty much in charge of me.
Mum.
Mom
Probably my dad, mainly as i dont live with him most of the time, but when we’re over at his he takes me where ever I want, as to him in the youngest (the baby) xD Which is cool. My mum though .. she’s a bit of a meany, and hates ot take me places, but if she didnt move us to a house inthemiddle of know where i wouldnt have to ask .. But yeah, dad all the way !!
Aww, your parents, I assume? My dad was always the one to let me get away with more, so it seemed.
My mom. Although it’s probably my dad who would decide to let me go.
daddy : )
I would’ve asked my mom, though ultimately I had to ask my dad…. which usually meant an instant no.
My mom.
Wow that man looks like you!
Depends on where I wanted (want) to go
my mom, because my dad would either not let me go or make me ask my mom anyway.
The moneymaker, in this case, Dad.
Neither. They wouldn’t let me go anywhere alone. >:(
Mom
I never got to make them face off, my father disappeared when I was 5, and while my mother had other male friends, none of them were allowed to make decissions about us
i asked my mom. she said yes
I don’t know, I have never known them together in my lifetime.
Which only means at the various points they each had custody, they never said no to me.
Which made me a spoiled little shit.
My dad’d say yes to anything as long as he didn’t have to drive me anywhere.
My mom, always.
Mom, she had final say anyways.
My mother. No doubt.
Dad.
It depended on what I wanted to do.
Probably Dad. Though I like traveling with Mom more.
I’m a daddy’s girl
Mom
mummy – she’d say yes anyway!
my dad lets me get away with more, so, i’d pick him. haha
Mom. She always vouched on my behalf it was important, until more recently.
Just had my dad…
My mom.
It didn’t matter, though, because what one said the other agreed with, for the most part. My mom was more inclined to be less strict about rules, and my dad was okay with that.
umm it depends
most of the time my mom -_-
Daddy. He can’t say no to me.
Mommy, always!
@KimNeyer - there’s usually something funny about most things b/c of the painful truth in most funny things. haha…
Ummm….I’m old enough to drive myself. But, if I’m a kid again and need a ride I probably asked my mother. Mainly because she drives safer and quicker than my father.
I didn’t matter who I asked first because the answer was usually the same with either parent, but typically I asked my dad.
Mommie!
Only Daddy if she were in a bad mood…I love my parents!!!
Those are your parents arent they?
I would say both. Only when I got older, I wanted to be with mom for girl stuff – shopping and salons!
i “ask” my mom but that`s `cause she`s the one at homme
Since my mom left when I was 12, my dad, even before she left.
Definitely my dad
i ask my mom. cuz if i ask my dad he just tells me to ask my mom lol.
