I don’t plan too.I need to get back in the habit of going to church.
most likely no, but my catholic grandmother might force my father or brother to take her [she doesn't want to end up in Hell with the rest of us, though sometimes I think she thinks spending eternity with us, even in Heaven, would be Hell...]
Yep I am.
that will make it 2 years running after a 5 break
nah… i’ll probably just sleep in.
HA.
We’re going to church with our daughter up in Grand Rapids.
Yeah, I’m involved with the Egg hunt set-up and in the drama, so I suppose I need to go.
Probably. My mom went today, but I don’t like the superlong liturgies. I’m bad I know.
yep first southern baptist church del city oklahoma
yes
yeah
and for my friend’s baptism
i’m so excited
Yep, I teach middle school girls Sunday School, so I have to be there bright and early.
Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Yes, and I went for Maundy Thursday, too.
Yes, actually I am
Nope. I have a friend who is going to be spending the day doing various Easter/Catholic activities. I plan on sleeping in and possibly doing some laundry if I have to.
Yup… Not necessarily to celebrate Easter… more because we go every Sunday.
No. I am in rebellion.
@john - Well if your a stinky man and don’t take your shower they won’t want you any ways…
Our church has 6 services for Easter this week-end ( all the same service, at different times. There are so many who attend.) We went Friday evening. Hope you have a good Easter with your family.
not just on account of it being easter. i try to always go to church on sundays. only time i don’t is if i have to work or my grandparents aren’t feeling well (my g-parents and i go together)
Church…that’s that boring thing Jesus said not to go to, right?
My family is… I’m not.
It’s easter sunday? oh man. I’m going to hell.
I hope i will…i used to go every single Sunday….now i just go when i can. and guess what? i haven’t died yet. ha.
Yes. I’m playing at 8 am Mass. Happy Easter everyone!
I’ll probably stay home. I don’t really do the “god” thing.
@ Drakonskyr show me where Jesus said not to go to Church?
We went to the Saturday evening Service and it was really good…
yes
I’m going to church tomorrow but not to celebrate Easter per se.
I would like to.
I was at various churches all week for Holy Week services… we’re going to stay home on Easter Sunday and relax, and give up our seats for the people who only come twice a year hehehehe =) We’ll have our own little devotional time here at home, though.
Of course! I go to church every Sunday…and Fridays =]
Yes!
Yup. I’m in the choir, so I get to be there for all three services.
ja.
no, and you?
no
I hope so.. I am the youth minister.
Sunrise service at 7:00 AM Church is 20-30 minutes away
I have to get up around 6-6:15 AM!
I do enjoy Easter of course But I enjoy not getting up early too I mean, isnt it supposed to be a day of rest?
lol, it is for non-religious people I guess Oh, the irony
Daniel (doubledb)
I figure it’s the least I can do after what He did.
Ugh, yes. Though I’m not looking forward to it.
ooooooh yea I LOVE Church I love hearing Pastor Rake’s sermons…I love being reminded of the Gospel.
I work another 12 hours tomorrow, but yes, I will be taking “her” to church. I am finding it quite difficult to celebrate with “Easter” and Passover so far apart. I cannot help but think this is wrong timing. Jesus celebrated Passover with the disciples in the Upper Room. He went to the garden to pray. He was taken in for questioning and charged. He was rushed through so that everyone could get on with their Sabbath. He died, was buried, and on the third day He arose victorious over death, and yet, we are celebrating this “Easter Week” without the Passover?! I am having trouble with that.
No.
Just got back. Easter Vigil is honestly the funniest mass of the year, at least for Catholics.
Yes.
Probably.
I wasn’t planning on it…
No.
xo
nope, having brunch with the family
Yes, but I’m not a fan of hearing the same sermon year after year after year
I’ll go, but it’ll be because I go every Sunday unless something drastic happens.
Would I be any other place on Sunday … Easter or not?
No, I’ll head into Houston and sketch what little good Architecture there is.
I’d like to, but I feel a little alienated from the church I had been going to.
thank goodness my family is out of town or else i will have to
Nope. I’m driving to Missouri for a funeral!
Yes, and I’m excited to go, because it’s been a few weeks since I’ve been to church due to travel and such. It’s such a privilege to hear the Word preached every Sunday, and I think Christians often take involvement in a local church for granted.
Anyway, Happy Easter!
Yes.
same answer as last post… hells no.
I would, but I don’t have a way to get there. =(
Nope – straight to hell.
i dont know i think i might .
I’m going to a Sunrise service at 6:30 in the morning.
I’ll be there!
resssssssssssssssurection Sunday!
Yup. To my brother’s church, actually, and then up to his house for dinner. I’m currently church-less. Which is unfortunate, but at the moment I don’t really have any way of remedying it. But it will be nice to have somewhere to go on Easter where I do feel welcome. Everyone at my brother’s church is always glad to see me when I visit.
FUCK! tomorrow is sunday?
I don’t go to church. At all. To me, Easter is just a day for people to wear bunny costumes without looking like an idiot and an excuse to eat all the chocolate you wish.
of course. =)
but we call it resurrection sunday where we’re from.
Yes. Nice picture.
Yes… and very blessed to be able to do so!
Yep, yep. I’m going to Sunrise service, bright and early at 6 a.m. It’s outside. It’s absolutely amazing to see the sun come up and to hear all of our voices singing in unison without any music. I LOVE that Easter service, it’s my favorite!
Happy Easter to you and your family, Dan!
NOPE!!!! besides, my pen pal is here from belgium and we have alot of catching up to do.
yes
Actually, I’m going to celebrate hope. My sermon is about crazy, wild, audacious hope. Then I’m going to pray for Drakonskyr. Gotta practice what you preach, ya know.
I’m going to church tomorrow. We’ll leave it at that.
I want to, but probably not.
No but I might pay my grandmother a visit to see how her Holi/Phagwah went.
EASTER RUINED OUR HOLIDAY WEEKEND!! I think there was something in the news about the Hindu celebration of Holi last year, but now that Easter has come early, no one gives a crap.
WOOOOOOO, CHURCH!!!!!!!
HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!
Yep.
Jesus died on the Jewish passover, and rose again on the third day, which coincided with the Jewish feast of first fruits. Here is the question: Passover this year is not until April 20, so shouldn’t we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on the third day after passover, if at all? (The orthodox will not celebrate easter until April 27, which is a little closer to passover, anyway.)
So who decides what Sunday in spring easter will be celebrated on?
The pagan sun worshipers sacrificed their first born child, dipped an egg in the blood, and held it up as an offering of fertility to the sun god. So why has coloring easter eggs crept into the Christian traditions of celebrating easter?
In fact, why are their no scripture verses commanding the followers of Christ to celebrate easter on anyday? How does the Bible tell us to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus? (Hint: in I Corinthians, Paul discusses the meaning of Baptism….)
Yep. We were going to go to services on Maundy Thursday too, but my mom’s house burned down… so, we’re only gonna make it to Easter. But that’s alright. We’re even going to the traditional 8:30 service. That’s a little too early, but whatever, lmao!
Yes!
Yes, my parents will probably force me to.
How could I NOT?!?! It is the day when Jesus rose and promised the same to all who believe in Him and follow Him! Heck yes I’m going!
Wouldn’t miss it!
Sunrise service. It seemed like a good idea a few weeks ago, now I’m not so sure….
uhm, i live in the Philippines and it’s sunday noon already. uhm, yes I did go to church to celebrate easter.
@iknowHimdou - wow, good for you. it’s your favorite? our easter service starts at 5:30am…
that actually sounds like a lot of fun! Since I’m a 5 AM-riser anywaii and get all bubbly by 6 AM, that’d be cool.
I’d love to see my dad actually preach a sermon at 6 AM. heeheehee. =]]

Yes! Jesus is alive!
sleeping in. I should though. Iam starting back once we move. Happy Easter!
no i dont think so
Yes.
jesus loves you all
No.
yes
Yep.
I don’t remember the last time I went to Church (to actually worship). I think it’s been about 7-8 years. And I’ve only been in a church 3 times since then (for funerals).
Absolutely!
I went to church this morning.
No. Stuffin my fat face with chocolate bunnies. Dark chocolate bunnies. *mouth watering*
Nah. I don’t go to church anyway.
Nope.
I was at church for 4 hours this morning. In the nursery from 8-11 and then service until 12
yes, i am an usher at church, and attended to two masses today
i would have if i hadn’t have been running a fever!!! *sigh*
Yup. Went to Church. I wish my hubby were here!
What is Easter without going to service on Easter Sunday? Love it! Just wish it were more like Spring her than it is! It is pouring rain here in Seattle…I know, I know…its supposed to be raining here in Seattle…makes those Easter egg hunts awfully hard to participate in though!!
Yes I did.
Not sure how to answer this… Today I went to church as I do every Sunday, and we had a normal Sunday service, complete with a sermon on why Easter should not be treated as any special day. it was a really good sermon, btw. One of the points: by partaking of the Lord’s Supper every first day of the week, we proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes again. That’s every Sunday – not once a year.
Church is only for an hour. So I don’t see why people are so lazy to go.
