When Xanga and Real Life Collide
I was reading a post by doahsdeer about what happens when real life and xanga life collide. He wrote this story:
“Three years ago, I stumbled upon a blogger on xanga who soon became one
of my favorites. The first post that caught my attention, she asked
the question What if the hokey pokey really is what it’s all about?
The next day she blogged in extraordinary detail about her husband’s
extra-marital affair. I was still new to blogging and stunned that
someone would share such excruciating pain online. She believed she
was anonymous on her blog. She believed there was a separation between
her virtual identity and her real identity. She stopped blogging about
a year ago. I believe she stopped blogging because her ‘real’ life and
her ‘virtual’ life were growing uncomfortably close.”He ends up asking the question “Would it make you uncomfortable if your ‘real’ life and your ‘virtual’ life collided?”
Would it make you uncomfortable if your real life and your virtual life collided?

Skinny Jeans
I just fit in my shorts that are one size smaller.
(The photo is not me).
I kept these clothes that I had for a long time that never fit. But now I am starting to fit in them again. It feels good to fit in my smaller sized clothes.
Do you currently have a smaller size wardrobe that you are keeping around just in case you lose weight?

Alien or Puppet
A man showed a video to the press and is claiming the video shows an alien.
The video is about three-minutes-long and grainy. Here is the link: Link
The video is causing people to question whether the creature is an alien or a puppet.
Do you think it is most likely an alien or a puppet?

The Slutty Bratz Doll and Unrealistic Barbie
I posted yesterday about Bratz and Barbie dolls.
I received a bunch of comments referring to the Bratz dolls as “slutty” or “hookers.” It is funny to me that growing up that the Barbie doll was considered bad for the self-image of girls. But yesterday in the comments people preferred Barbie because they grew up with her. (This is your first sign you are getting old when you like something of your generation and hate something from the next generation).
Now these dolls have makeup and more of an edge to them and everyone wants to call them slutty.
I guess the only thing I can relate it to is guns for boys. I was not allowed to have a fake gun. Yet I heard a parent say one time that if a boy doesn’t have a gun, he just makes one out of his finger or a stick and starts shooting. I am not sure that fake guns would have impacted me one way or the other.
Now most of you are at the age where you can look back and see what impact Barbie had on you.
Do you think these dolls are having a really great influence on what a girl wants to become in life?

No hablo ingles
I was just reading an article about how Spanish is replacing English as the dominate spoken language in Miami.
In fact, the inability to speak Spanish is becoming a liability in doing business. One person claimed it was hard to find a job if a person did not speak Spanish. Here is the link: Link
Should we be concerned that Spanish is becoming more dominate than English in some U.S. cities?

Barbie Vs. Bratz
An epic battle is brewing between Barbie and Bratz.
The creators of Barbie are suing the makers of the Bratz doll. They are claiming that the person who created the Bratz doll worked for Barbie and actually created the doll while working for them. Here is the link: Link
My wife said she liked the more traditional Barbie doll. The Bratz doll is a younger and more edgy version.
I was watching a program this morning when the representative of the Bratz doll said it is time for Barbie to retire.
Barbie or Bratz?
