  • Skinny Jeans

I just fit in my shorts that are one size smaller.

    (The photo is not me).

I kept these clothes that I had for a long time that never fit.  But now I am starting to fit in them again.  It feels good to fit in my smaller sized clothes.

Do you currently have a smaller size wardrobe that you are keeping around just in case you lose weight?

  • yes, actually.  I do

  • Do you currently have a smaller size wardrobe that you are keeping around just in case you lose weight?

I dont’ believe in wishful thinking. I guess this is why I’m also an atheist. =P

  • no.  i am honest about my weight and i know what size i am and prefer to spend my money on an amazing wardrobe that fits me–size 6, maybe a 4 or maybe an 8.  i have no illusions about being a size 2.

  • No, but I have found an old pair of jeans in my closest that miraculously fit me.

  • My entire wardrobe right now.

    It sucks.

  • Hahaha… nope.
If they don’t fit and I seriously don’t think I’ll be that size anymore.
I just donate them to a charity… and go out to buy new clothes that fit.
    ^_^

    DONATE THOSE JEANS ALREADY!
    Buy new clothes.
    =D

    Retail therapy!

  • Erm… I’ve been the same size (M) since I was a teen. Phew.

  • Is it b/c you have been vomiting so much, from that virus going around in your house, that you have lost tons of weight?

And no, i would look gross any skinnier. lol.

  • Yep, I do that too. And every once in a while, I DO fit into them! It’s always a nice day when I can fit into my “little jeans”.

A warning, though! BEWARE THE MUFFIN TOP! It seems like a lot of the girls in my area don’t care to heed that warning. The appeal of having a small ass seems to fade into the background when you’ve got a disgusting gut hanging over the top of your jeans. EEWWW!

  • I was planning on getting rid of a bunch of it, actually. I can’t keep holding onto things. The reward for losing the weight can be to buy new clothes then instead of holding on to things that are creeping out of style.

  • I weigh the same as I did in High School…32 years ago.

  • Hahah I actually do, currently, I’m using my bigger sized wardrobe, but once summer rolls around and I’m not sitting and studying everyday, I’m sure the smaller size will fit!

School honestly is bad for your health.

  • They tried to put weight on me when I played Basketball at Memphis State and got me to 185, but that was the fatest I could get at 6’10″, now it’s back to 170 and there I stay no matter what. So Yes, I wear skinny clothes

  • @gratefulxgrapefruit - Same! The pressure isn’t helping, either!

  • Oh, and NO WAY I’m wearing my plaid and silk shirts I had back then, they’re HISTORY

  • Yes, I keep several skirts that give me a muffin top and reveal unflattering parts of my thighs.  Unfortunately, the most predominant parts of my wardrobe are slightly looser than my actual size.  I may yet grow to fit into them.

  • Ha ha….yep.  Got the fat clothes and the thin clothes and the “i’m growing out of the thin clothes into the fat ones” ….

  • @huginn - Atheist’s don’t wear skinny Jeans?

  • hehe I don’t think my clothing can get any smaller..

  • yeah, but im pregnant.. haha

  • owh yea. i do. haha i like the shoe.

  • Not really, and the bad thing is that I just lost a few pounds so now I have several items of clothing that are too big.  I don’t exactly have a huge wardrobe though.

  • opposite here….except for really wanting it

  • Of course.  I can just can’t bear to part with them.  I believe in HOPE.

  • Yes, and it works. I’ve gone from a size 20 to an 8.

  • HOLY SHIT that guy has bad taste in clothing.

  • some bigger – when i feel like being baggy others are tighter..

  • Oh yes!!  I still keep a couple of old pants from my high school days.  Especially, this jean.  It makes my butt looks great!

  • Recently I started losing weight and it surprised me. It turned out I just hadn’t been eating as much without noticing… but it still scared me. I’m a bit of a hypochondriac.

Fortunately, my weight is fine, so actually I don’t want to lose more. Weird, huh?

Congrats on the weight loss! The reason why my weight is fine is because I went on one heck of a diet some time ago. Lost 30 pounds. So I know how you feel. =:)

  • hahhaha yes, it’s pretty annoying. where are the boobs!?!? im waiting

  • @porcupinesol - …I must agree with you because those shoes did capture my attention.

  • I call those clothes “summer clothes” meaning that I lose a lot of weight during the summer due to working and exercising a lot, so I lose a few sizes. So, yes, I keep them around a lot. :)

  • I once did but thank God I will never fit into them again. It took forever for me to grow a figure. I thought I was going to look like a 12 year old boy my entire life.

I put some weight on this year, but so far my cloths are just a little tight. I do not need to buy new ones yet.

  • No, I don’t have smaller size jeans… it isn’t possible for me to get any smaller.  But I do have a ton of girl clothes from the previous years, before I decided to dress more masculine, that I keep around just in case this whole “transgender thing” is just a “phase” and for whatever reason I want my girl clothes again.  Though I highly doubt that happening, the clothes do still fit, and it’d be nice not to spend money on clothes I already had at one point in time….

  • @UnworthyofHisgrace - He is saying that he doesn’t have wishful thinking.  Implying that believing in God is [the same].

  • I have kept a few of my skinny clothes.  The ones that I absolutely loved.  but overall I keep only one size smaller in my pants…although I just started fitting into them again so I will have to buy another size smaller soon !!!

  • @fullmetalbunny - it was the shoes that got me to notice, too.

  • @trunthepaige - lol, you are too funny.  When I was younger I wished I looked more like a twelve year old boy than a curvy gal.  I always hated the attention I got.  I have made peace with my body though there are still things I would like to change.  Baby steps…

  • I haven’t gained/lost any significant amount of weight or gotten taller since I was in about the 7th grade, so no. I do like to buy things a size smaller and pretend I’ll lose weight to fit into them, though, in the event that they don’t have my actual size.

  • yes. they’re suppose to motivate me, but really, they don’t. they’re stuck in that clean corner of my closet….

  • No.  I actually get pissed off when I lose a little bit of weight and my pants are again too big.  I’ve never needed to lose weight… gain it, maybe. :/

  • I recently got rid of lots of my smaller sized clothing, and I’m sad I did. :(

  • sure do.  Good thing too because I lost 15 pounds recently.

  • Uhm, nope. It’s more like I have a lot of oversized clothes that I’m still keeping hoping that i would gain weight to look good inthem..

  • Well, yeah of course.  What would I wear after the baby is born?  My maternity clothes would fall right off, lol.

  • Those are 80′s style jeans..We called the peg legged back then. The 80s are coming back I tell ya. Even the big belts are back :)

  • Well, no, but most of my clothes are too big, so I do have a wordrobe of clothes waiting for when I gain weight. And let me tell ya, that’ll be the day.

  • yes i do. they are supposedly the motivation to make me lose weight. but never works. i keep buying new wadrobe anyways.

  • Rule number one.

  • saying “yes” is no big deal. wehn you have to add “all of it,” it’s time to hit the track.

  • Haha yeah I have a few old favorites in my closet somewhere…

  • Yeah, I need to get my act together.

  • I should’ve. I shrank in a year and all my clothes didn’t fit me anymore.

But then again, if I did keep my old clothes I’d be decked out in Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers right now, because that was the last time I was as slim as I am now.

  • LMAO! “This photo is not me” LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yes! sometimes i even buy a top that doesn’t look good on me yet because i “know” im going to lose my fabs one day and look fabulous in it.

  • Yes I do keep my clothes
just in case I do lose weight >_>

  • of course.  i’ve probably got 5 pairs of jeans that don’t fit me right now.  :(   but I can’t just get rid of them!  but I have no expectations of fitting into them either.  *sigh*

  • Uhh, I think I’m skinny enough. I don’t hope to be any skinnier. I’m actually on a weight-gain diet. ahah. So I keep clothes too big for me hoping to fit in them someday.

  • I would never post a picture of myself either.

  • No but depending on the clothing brand or shoe size I do have smaller sizes of things. :D

  • Yes, a pair of jeans from Sophmore/Junior year in high school, and I
DO fit in them once again…well most of the way…they’re still a
little snug around the waist, but not to where they give my a muffin
    top WOOT! Haha

  • no – i’ve been the same size since the end of jr high/beginning of high school.  not that that’s really that long.  about 6 years or so.

but i am getting rid of a lot of clothes for style’s sake.

i hope i can keep all my jeans for a very long time, though.  i refuse to gain weight!!

  • no. why buying clothes that don’t fit you? Besides, I don’t intend on losing weight. But still, congrats, Dan :)

  • You know i threw mine out.. and since i had lilly i have lost 50 pounds. Now nothing fits me.

  • I’d say give him a hamburger.

  • Nope…clothes that are too small for me just make me feel  fat & whenever I’m shopping & I pick out a size thats too small in the dressing room I get sooo mad.

  • Yes, I do and I’m on a diet.

  • nope i dont. old clothes have to go; new clothes MUST enter the wardrobe.

  • The shoes definitely make it all work.  PIMPIN’!!!

  • Yes I do.  I think most people do.  I actually hung my skinny jeans on the outside of my closet so I can see them every day as inspiration.  So far so good!

  • I am loosing weight until I fit the box (kidding – I prefer burning).  I am keeping all the old stuff just because I pack rat.  Maybe they can put it all in the box with me, give it all a squirt of barbecue starter, and set it afloat.

  • Actually I just hope that I don’t stretch out my current selection.. Haha..

  • Doesn’t everybody?

  • Nice belt!
I just kept a pair of jeans that I want to fit into again. Apart from that, I buy clothes according to my size.

  • Oh wow…ok, just be aware that I’m an eating disordered girl answering your post.

I have clothes from all periods of my different weights. I keep them ‘just in case’…so if I ever relapse (which I have) I don’t have to spend money. But all the while I know that somewhere in my mind I’m going ‘Hmmm…if I could only get back in those pants…followed by…no, no, no! stop!….but you know you can get back down there’ you get the point.

I do have less pants now. On my last rehab stint (ok, its IP/residetial..but rehab sounds cooler) we had to give up our tiny pants as a sign of transformation. I gave up all these tiny pants that would be fit only a twelve year old.

But its always a jumble. And I think its not a good idea to do this if you’ve had issues with weight before. I don’t know. That’s just my opinion and everyone is entitled to think something else.

Sorry for typing up an essay.

  • i have a few piece but i go back and forth add 10 pounds lose 1- pounds

i dont keep anything smaller than one size down because it wouldnt be in style by the time i got to that size

  • I have “after baby clothes” but when I return to wearing them (like now) I dislike the style so I’m getting rid of most.

  • yes, my whole wardrobe, but i will be back by the end of summer!

  • I struggled with anorexia for 10 years or so.  I just had a baby five weeks ago, and after 3 children, my body doesn’t fit into those size 8 pants and my shirts are too tight.  But I decided for my sanity to get rid of those clothing rather than have them hanging around, taunting me to lose weight so that I can fit into them.  I know that having those clothes around could be problematic.  I’ll try to tone my body when I have time, but in the meantime, I’m busy chasing after two active boys and nursing a new baby.  I’m striving to look healthy, rather than fitting into a certain size.

  • No.  Any time my size changes it’s time for new clothes anyways.  I haven’t really changed much since about grade eight either.

  • I would if I had ever been smaller, but this is honestly the smallest I’ve been in 8 years and I’m 16. So what does that tell you about my childhood?

  • Yes, and fortunately I’m wearing them.
    Congratulations on your weight loss.

RYC: Life is about change. It isn’t supposed to be easy. It just is what it is.

  • my weight always stays withing 5 pounds of my “normal” weight.  so nope, never have that problem!  :)

and i keep my old clothes…who knows when these old styles will make their big comeback!

  • Lol, I did until about a week and a half ago.  I finally parted with all those clothes.  Congrats to you though.

  • Yes I am and some day soon I will wear those size 2′s again and get out of these fat jeans, size 4

  • Well duh Dan! I won’t be pregnant forever haha!! (Thank GOD!) I did thin out my pre-prego wardrobe tho so I will have an excuse to buy some new stuff haha.

And it’s a good thing that picture isn’t you, I would have to drive down to H-town to kick your butt for those hideous boots LOL!

  • I started fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes just 2 weeks ago, which felt AWESOME, but I don’t think that’s the same.

  • i’m skinnier now than before i was pregnant so, i don’t have a pair of skinny jeans. but if it counts, i kept my old clothes whilst i was preggo.

  • @xXsecretXsweetsXx - Yep, too many muffin tops around here too. Ew.

Yes, Dan, I do have my smaller clothes, I am trying to fit into them.

  • Actually, I don’t, but I would hate to get fat all the same.

  • You bet I do!!  :D

  • I used to until they disappeared.  I think someone in my family took them.

  • unfortunately, yes

  • I had (notice past tense) a particular dress that I kept for years … around 25 as a matter of fact … with the notion that if I could ever lose enough weight to fit into it I would be at my ideal size.  Last year I threw it out.  Not only was it outdated but I realized I don’t want to fit into it again. I am almost 56 years old and have no business trying to look like someone half my age.  I’m happy with myself at this point in my life.  Life is good, and so what if I don’t look like a runway model anymore?  My husband still loves me after 30 years.  What more could I want?

  • I don’t keep them “Just in case.”
I keep one outfit so that I can have a goal, and throw out the rest.

It gives me an excuse to go shopping when I lose weight XD

    10 pounds down, 45 to go! x_x

  • Yes. Doesn’t everyone?

  • Yes, but they are going out in a belated spring cleaning. Got to get ready for a move..

  • I don’t keep an entire wardrobe, but I do have a few outfits that I particularly like, plus my prom dresses.

  • No way.  My body is already disproportionate, and I lose weight disproportionately, so even if I did have smaller clothes, they would never fit right: the bust would always be too small, and/or the waist would always be too big, no matter how small I got.  So what’s the point?

And btw, skinny jeans are evil.  They won’t fit over my calves.

  • i have clothes larger just in case i gain weight

  • No. I keep them to remind me that I’m F A T.

I keep it because sometimes they still fit me.

I sure hope to fit in that size ZERO forever.

  • @la_faerie_joyeuse - Haha the same thing happens to me. It’s either too small or too big. Sometimes I have to get mine custom-made.

  • nope… i don’t lose/gain weight that much

  • yeah, but only a few shirts.

  • Nope, actually I have the complete opposite. I wear the smaller-sized clothes and keep the bigger clothes around. I lose alot of weight in the winter and gain it all back in the summer. I wear smaller sized jeans in the winter than what I wear in the summertime.

  • yes. a few articles, and I keep them out so I can see them everyday.

  • I keep all my clothes. I’ve been meaning to go through it all, but I can’t make myself do it. I’d hate to throw/or give it away. Every time I do that I lose weight, then go searching for something that is no longer there.

  • I’ve been the same size for several years now.  I don’t have any “skinny” clothes.  If I did, I’d give them away; they’d serve a better purpose being worn by someone else.  Keeping around clothes that are too small is not a good reason to lose weight.

  • Someone made a comment about being atheist– not believing in wishful thinking.

One, I kinda have to say that that was slightly inappropriate (in my opinion, feel free to disagree) because I’m an atheist but I don’t see how possibly losing weight (especially one size, c’mon) is wishful thinking.

    I know I personally have a drawer of old pants (gave up on the shirts. If one thing slims down, another grows ><;;;;) that are within 2 sizes of what I wear incase I lose or gain weight. It’s infuriating waking up and suddenly your favorite jeans are too small or big. So they just kinda go in the drawer till I go down a size or go up. It happens every holiday and summer break xD;

  • Not a whole wardrobe. Just a t-shirt and a pair of jeans.

  • Good for you and unfortunatley yes I do.

  • @mayanao - Not really possible on a college student’s budget.  As much as I’d like to have clothes that fit right, I’d rather have fruits and vegetables (not ramen and easymac) so that I can at least kind of fit the clothes I have now.

@Tears_of_Diamond_Shadows - Losing weight might be wishful thinking for many people who know they really don’t care enough to eat right or exercise.

  • I do have a few items and I can’t part with in case I lose weight. But a lot of my stuff is quite the opposite, too big :( I’m certainly not hoping I grow into those!

  • i did, but i gave up and gave them away

  • i just cleaned out my closet and filled up 4 thrash bags full to donate to goodwill.
if i happen to lose weight, i can always buy new clothes..lol.

  • I did… but I got rid of a lot of the ones that were old, but I’m wearing the one’s that I did keep…

  • I’m cheap.  I WEAR my smaller sized wardrobe, and it ain’t pretty.

  • i have shirts that are too small for me that i’ve kept because i like them so much.
i have no desire to be any smaller though.

  • OH..yes=)

  • Nope. If I were any smaller, I’d be a walking stick.

  • No. I move too much to keep clothes I don’t wear, and I had to wait until I was 23 to actually get curves and feel like a woman, so I don’t particularly want to lose weight now.

  • nah – that would the the stuff from when i was 8.

  • Hell I got a pair of jeans 4 sizes to small that I’m trying to fit in.
    I JUST CAN”T DO IT!!
    **sob**

  • Omg, don’t I, LOL.  I even buy “smaller” clothes to motivate me to lose the post baby weight, hahaha.!

  • I keep some clothes I like… in hopes of fitting them again some day…

Oh and the picutre… well I just wanted to say that those shoes are ugly.   Just my opinion.

  • Yeah.

But I think most of it’s going to go.

When I finally lose all that weight (and I’m close, I am. It’s been going good!), I will not wear the same stuff I wore 5 years ago >__<

  • i bought these one pair of jeans after graduating high school, which at that time still didn’t fit me. after 2 years, i lost so much weight that i fit into them finally! sadly, that only lasted about 4 months, and have once again been placed in the closet til that day comes when i fit into them once again.

  • Given that I am currently pregnant, my entire wardrobe is pretty much waiting for me to fit back into it.

  • Nope. I’m at a pretty decent weight. I throw out my smaller clothes because I’m confident with how I am and because they’re probably only small because I just grew out of them.

  • All of them…. I always gain weight or muscle and the waists in my clothes are always too small… and I have to buy new ones, I have a closet full and also about 8-10 drawers extra….. I gotta downsize!

  • Nope.

  • Eh, not particularly.  I just wear clothes that fit.

Except I would like to keep fitting into my prom dress.  Not that I’ll need to wear it again, it’s just fun.
