Shirtless at The Ballpark
Men have been going shirtless at the ballpark for as long as I can remember.
But recently the Nationals banned men from going shirtless at the game. Here is the link: Link
Do you think men should be able to be shirtless at the ballpark?

What the hell?
Sure.
Just not pantless.
But I don’t actually care.
Of course. I’ve done it a few times myself at Reds games.
…But what about the moobs??? SAVE THE MOOBS!!!
Sure, why not?
no one should be shirtless. honestly, i’d prefer to not have to look at most men without a shirt on–not all men look like the statue of david. flab is flab and it’s not attractive. sexy maybe, but not attractive to be forced to look at on someone you aren’t madly in love with.
keep the shirt on.
No, I don’t think it should be banned. It’s kind of a tradition right? But at the same time, there ares SOME guys who really SHOULDN’T go shirtless…but I s’pose if you’re comfortable with who you are then you should go for it right? Or is there a level of decency for those around you? I have no idea.
I don’t want to see the average man topless.
Only the attractive ones
Is it sexist to allow men to go topless but not women?
They shouldn’t be allowed to be shirtless, because most of the ones who go shirtless are either old or overweight and we just don’t need to see that in the first place.
@eeb06b - But the fat guys have more space for paint! It’s like an IMAX s a regular TV!
No!!! Of couse. . .
If men could be shirtless in the public area, so why human should wearing shirt. . .
It’s horrible for someone who don’t know you . . .knowing yu doing this.. .
Yeah, but I am jealous.
We need eve the flabbiest of sports fans to take off their shirts, whether it be comfortable for them or they have an interesting message spelled out between themselves and their friends.
Way to go Washington.
Don’t you go shirtless to get cooler (I mean tempreture cool, not social cool)? I mean, it’s summer in the states, you’d think that not wearing shirts is ok.
I vote for the ladies to go shirtless as well…..
@another_rebel_without_a_cause - touche
why should we care? they’re the ones getting sunburnt.
Only if girls can be shirtless, too.
@another_rebel_without_a_cause - Exactly. Without fat sports fans painting their faces black and silver and painting GO RAIDERS on their chests, we wouldn’t have anyone to point to and say, “Find a new team, morons.”
I’m torn. On one hand, I think that they should be able to go without a shirt because it’s their freedom to do so, but on the other hand, I really don’t like being bumped into by sweaty topless guys.
yeah.
haha best line in that article “You’re baking in your own gravy. “
Only if they have hot abs. Or at least no beer gut/hair.
@mariqueenofscots - I believe that sex is best in loving, long-term, committed relationships, and I would never have sex in any other circumstance. However, I do very much enjoy looking at hot shirtless men, even if I don’t have sexual fantasies about them (which I almost never have). It’s just easy on the eyes – my eyes, at least.
I don’t care. Honestly if it’s something somebody doesn’t want to look at I’m sure there are lots of other places to look at a ball game (like the players on field for instance.)
I’m gonna hop on the “only if they’re attractive” train. But really, I don’t care cause I don’t go to and or watch many ball games. I say, if they wanna show off their unattractive bodies to the whole world, go for it. I’ll just look over here….
Too many of my homosexual friends tell me I should go crotchless.
I’m just going to shut down instead I think, hum_hallelujah is not my friend on myspace so the project is total failure.
@la_faerie_joyeuse - why is this directed at me?
Given how hot it can get in the stands: Yes, I do.
Sure, whatever.
I do wish ladies could go shirtless in public, too, but hey, whatever.
Hell yes they should be allowed to go shirtless. It is called tradition.
Shirtless….if you don’t like it keep your eye on the ball.
I have to wonder though, who the hell watches the other fans while at a sporting event? Whats next going to a strip club to watch the linoleum curl?
no shirt.
no shoes.
no service.
makes sense, you can’t do it at a restaurant, and people look at you funny if you do it like, randomly in the middle of the street.
why are baseball games any different?
@Reality_vs_Ideality - ewwww
it’s summer baseball tradition… don’t mess with it.
I don’t really care. I’ve seen everything since I work at a water park. Lol. Fat men in speedos are the worst…as long as these men have pants on…
Well I, for one, would prefer not running into shirtless men at sporting events (except for swimming, because that’s practical).
Then again, I don’t really go to baseball games very often, so meh.
@adifferentkindofbeautiful - i couldnt stop laughing at the visual going on in my head after reading that. ugh haha
Yeah. Why not.
Who cares. As long as im not sitting next to the big, fat, hairy, sweaty, shirtless man. I reserve the right to ask that person to cover their monstrosity-ness. Haha.
But if they can’t go shirtless then how will we see the paint that they covered their bodies with in support of the team!? Haha but seriously I do think that this is kind of a ridiculous rule.
I don’t see why guys have to go shirtless. If it were up to me, I’d say keep them on, gentlemen.
EVERYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE SHIRTLESS AT THE BALLPARK ! AFTERALL,…………it’s hot !
Nudity is what we make of it.
Perhaps science will find a way to inject tshirts on fetuses so that we won’t have to look at naked babies.
god forbid.
Men should be allowed to go shirtless only if their chest measurement is greater than their waist measurement.
I don’t really care since I think Baseball is boring, but it’s always made me wonder why some men want to show their giamongous beer guts to everyone in public. My wife wants to puke when she sees our nextdoor neighbor outside with no shirt.
why the hell not?
if women could walk around the neighborhood topless without getting arrested, i would certainly do it when the weather is 100+
Why not? If girls can go shirtless (with a ‘bikini top’ thats really just like a bra) why cant men?
@losertasticx - no shirt.
no shoes.
no service.
makes sense, you can’t do it at a restaurant…
Don’t be silly. Just as you’re able to pull instances where going topless is disallowed, I can cite examples where it’s okay.
Due to differing evnironment, tradition, and intent every institution holds differing standards. Just as a guy is allowed to go topless on beaches, guys ought to be allowed to go topless in a baseball stadium.
i dont really care. i dont really go to baseball games. and what difference does it make? they’re shirtless at the beach and the pool….
I think the ballpark should be able to set rules on ‘appropriate’ dress.
Ben
depends on how they are looking. We all know that honestly we do not want to see an over weight person with their shirt off.
@joel8191 - Only to the college educated.
I have a story.
First baseball game, Angels vs Tampa Bay this year and we go find our seats only to discover a shirtless man, lets just say that he wasn’t the most fit man at the ball park, and there he was sitting making a mess with peanut shells. He ended up dropping food on his chest and he picked it up off his stomach and ate it.
I personally do not mind whether they are shirtless or not, but >_> at least have the decency to be well-mannered.
sexyyy
i don’t see why not.
it’d be no different then being a beach.
don’t like? don’t look.
let ‘em.
only if I can too…
no shoes, no shirt, no service. ’nuff said.
@mariqueenofscots - You said that shirtless men are attractive only if you’re in love with them. I can respect that about you, but I was trying to show that it’s definitely not true for everyone: attractiveness does not have to be sexual.
i dont care but they should be allowed to
only if they have a nice body
nothing like trying to take a bite of your hot dog with a sweaty, hairy back blocking the view of your game.
go nationals. thanks for saving my appetite. maybe i’ll spend more money at the ballpark now!
Oh sure, tell me I can’t take my shirt off at the sweltering hot game. What’s next, telling me I can’t yell “asshole” at the umpire? It’s just downright unAmerican!
(that was sarcasm btw) How about instead of banning going shirtless, *recommend* that people wear loose fitting tops or tank tops?
No.
That is just stupid and extreme. There is nothing indecent about it. It’s not like they are flashing their genitles at the crowd. What’s next, making women wear burkas? It’s not like they are attending a formal event. It’s a ball game. Good Grief!
The next thing you know some group of prudes will be requiring full length formal attire at the beach. Are these people crazy?
Go ahead and let the men be topless. Seriously!
Only the unnatractive ones… lol
Of course guys should be able to take off their shirts. It’s as American as baseball
DC ruins sports.
@Creed_of_Kings - haha, as a high school student, I’ll take that as a compliment.
On one hand I agree that no one should be allowed to go shirtless…on the otherhand I think that if men are allowed to go topless, women should be allowed to go topless also…and not just in stripbars. But at ball parks in the summer, the hot ones are not too bad to look at, but the sweat is kind of gross. Topless sweat should be kept at home…preferably in the bedroom. KIDDING…or am I.
Winter is fun with the topless guys especially when they have their bodies painted and they are showing how much of a man they are by seeing who can keep their shirts off the longest during the colder then cold temps.
Thank GOD for that ban! All parks should have one. The guys who go shirtless are NEVER the ones who can actually pull off the shirtless look. XD
Dont even think it. Dont even go there.
Don’t care
Let them go shirtless, not that big of a deal. You will see more than shirtless men on the television, get over it. Keep your eyes focused elsewhere.
Of course. But I also think women should be able to!
Sure, I don’t see why not when the temperature is 90 Fahrenheit. One condition though, women should be able to go in there with pants and a bikini top and if a man hoots at her (and vise versa with women hooting at men) the man should be kicked out automatically. Seriously, I don’t want to over heat because of a stupid fuck can’t understand that women over heat as well and we shouldn’t have our boobs treated as sex objects.
Absolutely.
And women should too.
@seedsower - Ha! I like that one. Touche, and good point! The ball is what we should be keeping our eyes on anyway, huh?
@another_evil_person - I completely agree. I think men should be allowed to go topless, and women with what you said, a bikini top. The only hesitation I’d have is if guys kept staring/hooting. That’d be hella annoying. >:[
well they are getting their vitamin D… and the possibility of skin cancer
thus they balance out, so yes
*sigh* the responses here sicken me. ‘Only the attractive ones’. What other privileges should attractive people get? Anyway-
I don’t think people should be restricted from being shirtless. Why should we be so prudish? Men, women, ‘ugly’- whatever. Chests really aren’t that big of a deal- they only are in our country because we decided that we had to hide them; especially women. Come on, people. Get some grit and deal.
I don’t like it when a sweaty, shirtless man bumps into me. YUCK! At least with their shirts on it’s not quite as slimy. And really…it’s not that much cooler with no shirt on…they just think it is.
Sure, men should be able to go shirtless on a hot day. But for fairness, any woman who wants to should be allowed to be shirtless too. You know that few if any really attractive women will do that. Maybe men with unattractive moobs (man boobs) will get the hint at the sight of a bunch of foobs (fat women boobs).
ONLY IF WOMEN CAN, TOO!!
I think that men should only be allowed to go shirtless to the ball park if they are hott and sexy with body like a rock. Dont no one want to see a hairy beer belly man jumping up and down. LOL Jk.. idk .. i dont go to ballparks so i dont have to deal with this so…its what ever! lol
No, because it’s never the men that you WANT to see shirtless that go shirtless. It’s always the overweight, middle-aged men.
As long as they don’t have man boobs!
…but seriously, I don’t think it really matters.
Men can be topless anywhere women can be topless. It’s all or none, people. Anything else is discrimination.
Personally, I’d love to be able to go topless at a game! Why should the guys have all the fun?
I don’t think it ultimately makes a difference whether guys have to wear shirts or not. If the Nationals wants people to keep their shirts on, it has every right to do so. If you want to go shirtless that bad, don’t go to the game.
To the ladies who have commented, seriously, if they are flabby and you don’t want to see, don’t look! That’s what we tell them about our low-cut shirts.
No because I don’t want to see their man boobs!
No. I don’t wanna see a bunch of shirtless guys at a baseball game. Not that I go to very many… sweaty shirtless guys is a no-no pretty much all the time.
No one wants to see that shit!
I mean, considering 99.9987% of the time it’s not cute.
uh, who cares? If ur sensitive to it or ur kid may be too little to see that maybe you should watch the game at home and maybe ur kid couldn’t handle sitting through an entire baseball game either….so suck it up and stay home
What’s the problem with requiring men to wear a shirt? If you’re going to attend a public function or appear in public at all, you should have enough respect for others to dress with a modicum of appropriateness. And, since sports parks are privately owned establishments, their directors have every right to demand that patrons observe standards of courtesy towards others in their speech, appearance and general conduct.
Only if they have washboard chests.
