a puppy for sure!
depends on if I was an LOLcat addict or not.
third
Kitten!
A puppy. They (for the most part) grow up to be a lot cooler than cats.
KITTEN!
Puppy
cats are the spawn of satan
Have to be kitten. But dogs are more fun after they’ve grown. I have yet to see a guard cat.
puppy– cats are so gross. i
I’m allergic to cats.
Sweet! I inspired a blog, I am teh awesome! And you obviously know my answer cause that’s my kitten up there!! =D
I have 2 dogs and 1 cat (and now I’m feeding 2 outside kitties who live under my house) so I guess I’d have to go with a goldfish next. I’m fresh out of space for mammals.
Actually, I am debating on getting a pet. And I’d rather go with a kitten, since they’re usually content to be left alone during the day. Eventually I’d like a dog though, when I have a family.
@Drakonskyr - Oh my god! You actually like kittens?
Oh. Now I remember. You don’t like puppies. Haha.
puppies are more fun
puppies are stupid and amusing, cats are smart and amusing, hmmmm
Neither. I have decided I really don’t like animals, at least ones living in my house that shed and poop all over, no matter how cute they are. Does that make me a horrible person?
Puppy. I could go on forever and ever about the various breeds I would like to own in my lifetime. Right now though, I would want a Harlequin Great Dane puppy. /sigh
Did I just hear a shotgun?
@Dare2BDiferentt - Well, I just think dogs are morons. A cat is evil, but a cat is certainly more honest.
Absolutely a puppy….why did you have to remind me how much i want one?
Puppy!! hands down!
Puppy.
Neither. I’d go for a cat or a dog. No little needy babies.
I want another dog but I’d probably get the cat first. Even though my dog has proven to be a good little mouse catcher.
@Drakonskyr - Dogs will fend off the evil neighbors. The cats just wet themselves. Kittens are cuter, dogs are more useful. So if someone lives in an apartment, they should have a kitten. If they live in the mountains, as I do, they should have a dog. Cats don’t stay around long in the mountains, you know.
Ijust got a puppy a few months ago, so I would get a kitten, because my cat I have now is about 12 years old.
Oh dear…those pictures are so unfair!
I’d have to say kitten…as much as I adore puppies…I have to consider the future with a pet in the long run.
Puppy, I’m just more into dogs than cats.
puppy!!! although kitten would probably work better with my apartment and lifestyle… I don’t have time to care for a puppy, or I would have gotten one already.
@SamsMom1004 - Sure, why not?
Definitely a puppy!
kitten for sure
Cats make me sneeze. I’d really rather get an adult dog already fixed and housebroken, but since that’s not an option I guess a puppy.
Kittens take a LOT less work than puppies do! We already have enough pets, though, what with a dog, a cat, a hamster, a bird, and a fish …
puppy!!!!!!!!!!!!
neither! i’m allergic to furrrrrrr…..
i’d get a puppy
Kitten.
A puppy. I already know how to take care of one and I know that dogs can be less moody. Plus, I have a ton of friendly stray cats running around here so I don’t need any more kittens.
Honestly, I would rather have a puppy, but it’s not like I have enough room for one though
And my parents have tons of cats. I’m sick of ‘em.
If I had to pick a kitten, however I prefer to have a goldfish.
Considering I can’t have the kind of dog I want in this apartment, I would get a kitten.
Kitten!!
Definitely a kitten.
A Puppy!
DAWGGIEEES!
@ExposedWrists - Thats my kitten! Be jealous!
And that puppy is my sisters dog, I want it so bad too but I can’t have both
kitten ~ !!
cats rock da world ~ ~
depends on my amount of time to give, right now it would have to be a cat, they require so much less training. But my love is dogs!!
I love cats!!!
Most definitely a puppy!
kitten..
the difference between a kitten and cat is drastic;the difference between a puppy and dog is much less signifciant.
i’m a cat lover, although i gotta admit dogs pay more attention. maybe it’s that kittens/cats have their own personalities? idk.
I would love to have a new kitten. [: That would be lovely! ;D I look at my cat sometimes ad I just think,” Why can’t you be a kitten again?”
Cats are probably the most egotistical animal out there. I never understood the appeal of an animal like that.
Puppy!
Id get a kitten. I miss mine
Puppy. Kittens are cute, but I dislike adult cats.
a puppy!
@Dare2BDiferentt - I have yet to see a dog that will actually ONLY attack intruders, and not just everyone who comes through the door. It’s like a faulty alarm system; if it goes off every time someone walks by, eventually you just ignore it, thus negating all of its protective properties.
I have two cats, I like cats. I grew up with dogs and they’re just too high-maintenance and boring. Dogs pretty much have stock personalities; very little variation beyond the base. But every cat I’ve lived with has been completely unique. I like that.
an eadie
I have a dog that I got as a puppy and an adult cat that adopted us . . .
Kittens are pretty cute but they are evil psychos so I’d have to go with puppy. Plus I know someone who has widdle Border Collies for sale and they are the most adorable things ever! I love Border Collie puppies.
BUNNY!!!!
nah jk probably a puppy.
kitten
Puppy.
kitten. because i have a dog
Kitten. Easy.
I am a dog person.
Puppy. My allergy to cats has completely stricken any love for them from my heart.
My dogs would love to “meet” the kitten, however that may not be pretty, so we would have to go with the puppy! a Dachshund puppy that is!
i hate cats, and my dog could use a new friend. puppy!
puppy!
If it’s a laser cat, I’ll take the kitten any day.
Go to the fucking SPCA and get a grown dog or cat, morons. Stop putting your money towards puppy mills and get the animals who are in dire need of homes. The puppies and kittens will get scooped up by some jackass and their kid because they’re “so cute”. Of course, when they grow up and aren’t so cute, or when they pee on the rug for the 100th time, those animals end up at the SPCA or in Pets for Life, or PAWS or something like that.
Oh yeah, cat owners, license your cats or keep them inside. When they’re outside, stick them on a damn leash. That way you won’t have to tell little Timmy that Mr. Muffins got eaten by a coyote…or lose him forever because he got picked up by the SPCA and was either adopted out or put down.
Honestly.
kitten.
Somebody once told me the following:
A man who loves cats will make a good husband.
A woman who loves dogs will make a good wife.
Does anybody think this is true?
kitten!!
Puppy
puppy!
Kitten.
They really reflect our lazy modern lifestyles. The perfect pet for today’s society.
Buy a puppy and grind up the kitten to feed him.
Puppy of course!
kitten for sure… way less maintenance, easier to go on vacation.
Neither for me.
I don’t have a job right now so I couldn’t afford food/litter/shots/grooming/vet stuff.
Pets are a lot more expensive than people think.
Cats are easier than dogs to take care of because they don’t need to be walked/can just have food left out to eat…they still need attention and love but they can entertain themselves.
Dogs on the other hand need to be trained and have a crate and not poop in the house. etc.
Kitten. I’m violently allergic to dogs
@logicalemu - agreed
A kitten! Who can ressit their purring cuteness?
@Soultender - Eww.
Would like to get a kitten, but I’ll need to go with a puppy because I’m allergic to cats. The only requirement for the puppy is that it is a german shepard or siberian husky.
A kitten of course.
puppy!
But I like kittens too.
neither, I would get a snake
Which one tastes better?
a puppy…their cute
Kitten ^.^
I’m not so much of a dog person
I wouldn’t go SHOPPING for a pet. Pets aren’t like clothes or toys, they’re a long term commitment. I’d consider all my options, contact rescue groups, and meet with various different pets before deciding.
Pet stores are a joke. Go to a shelter. You get healthy, grateful animals, instead of a poorly bred sickling from a puppy mill. Seriously, don’t call getting a pet “shopping”. That’s ridiculous and just emphasizes how irresponsible people are when it comes to animals.
And to answer your question, I would get neither – I would get an adult dog. They’re the ones who actually need homes.
@logicalemu - nicely said! I didn’t catch this one before I commented. Thankfully I’m not the only sensible person reading this.
@imagoodegg31 - haha agreed.
A puppy.
I’d say kitten but only because there was someone giving them away at my work on Saturday and I wanted to take one home but my mom said no…
On the other hand, my cat HATES me and is an evil bitch 90% of the time. My dogs just lick my face.
Puppy FTW.
Puppies are bitches! It’s all about the Pussies!
Kitten!
Puppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Puppies! ♥
I’d rather have a cashew. mmmm, cashews.
I would much rather have a puppy because I think dogs make better companions. Even though they are needy, they are so affectionate!
But I have to get a kitten because my apartment is cats only, and I’m not home enough during the day to get a puppy. It would never get housebroken, and it would be so lonely. Cats are far more independent and much easier to take care of. Hence, my kitten Riley.
I just got a kitten 5 days ago.
But personally, I’d say I’d rather have a ferret.
KITTEN! WANT!
I am allergic to cats, but I think kittens are adorable.
I am actually allergic to some long-haired dogs too, hmmm.
Probably a puppy, however.
I have 2 dogs already, so bring on the kittens.
I suspect that the kitten would make for a tastier soup.
puppy ftw!
kitty!!!!!!!!!!!! &
>^ ^<
a kitty! I’d kill for a kitty! but husband “claims” to be allergic.
i would get a kitten b/c my other kitty, Jazz, needs a friend!
<333 kitty
Kitty Cat!!
If I could, I would rather have a dog. I love dogs. Cat’s are ok…and I can have a cat where I live at, but I’m not sure if I could”commit” to a cat. I’m thinking of eventually getting more fish, and eventually, at least one bird
I love dogs so much better than cats (though they are good in their own way) so…
Puppy!!!
Definately a puppy!
PUPPYYY
PUPPYPUPPYPUPPYPUPPY.
Cats tend to scratch and are not as protective. Dogs are overprotective but sometimes it IS better to be safe than sorry.
Kitten.
puppy. they’re more loyal. cats can be totally content one minute and if you do so much as pet them wrong they get all pissed off and come after you. dogs don’t care what you do to them, they love you no matter what.
nicee
a puppy. and hopefully one day i’d find one just like the one i just lost.
PUPPY!!!!
Puppy!
Puppy !
My puppies ran away a couple of months ago.. :/
depends which one is affordable I guess. so cute, regardless
One of each!
O.O of course I’d get a kitty. They’re way more adorable.
Kitten. Cats are cleaner and practically take care of themselves.
I would definately pick the dog, although I wouldn’t want a puppy anymore. My two dogs are wonderful and well trained in the old age. I couldn’t even imagine going through the puppy stage again.
Kitten.
Applehead Siamese.
To anyone who wants to get a pet:
Realize there is quite a bit of work involved, especially for dogs. If a dog is what you’re wanting, different breeds have different characteristics. Read up on the breeds and choose the one that would be most compatible with your lifestyle. Some are naturally hyper, some need grooming, etc. Educate yourself beforehand.
The people at the pound don’t like putting animals down either.
i wuld get a cute little PUPPY!!!
PUPPYYYYYY
I just cleaned dog piss off the floor, so I have to say kitten, at least they use a litter box
puppy!
A puppy, no doubt about it! They’ll give you unconditional love without the feisty-ness of a cat.
I would rather get a kitten.
puppypuppypuppy!
puppy, ftw.
a kitten anytime!! we have a dog…yes, at one point he was cute! when he was little and cuddly — but now…now he’s just a pain in the butt most days!!! last dog that we’ll ever own…bring on the kittens!!!
I was always a dog person (:
I would get a puppy because I have 9 kittens. XD
RIGHT now, a kitten. Because they are the easiest to potty train. But I do want a puppy. Just dont have the time for one.
puppy
but I would’nt mind the kitten =]
so adorable
Puppy!
Puppy.
HEDGEHOG!
Now this is the hardest questions you’ve ever had! I’d get one of each (from the shelter of course)
Puppy!
I have one of each, but my puppy could use a friend.
Puppy. And I have 2, they just turned a year old and are sooooo stupid, but I love them. Dogs have unconditional love.
Either is good! Both have good qualities and take about the same amount of energy involved in caring. Huge dogs – no way. But dogs always want to be petted, which is good but sometimes annoying. On the other hand, Cats do not always need to be petted and you have to earn their affection; however, it is annoying when you want to pet your cat and it looks at you and slowly walks away – leaving you feel like a complete idiot… and looser… REJECTED! ha ha
puppy
i’m allergic to cats
Puppy. I’m scared of cats for some reason.
i’d say a dog because my last cat was so freaking amazing that any cat after that would not live up to my expectations and would really disappoint me.
people who say they don’t like cats don’t know how to raise them correctly. my cat was very protective of me and always came when i or someone else called her.
dogs are too much work though. you know you have to get them licensed? i was not aware of this until my friend told me today. if you don’t, you could have it taken away from you. they need tons of attention or else they tare up everything you love. most people don’t know how to make their dogs behave anyway. if your dog barks at anyone that walks by, it’s not a good dog.
what i’d really like is a rabbit.
kitten
I love cats. Always have and always will so there is no way I would go shopping for a puppy. lol
kitten!
i would buy a kitten if i was living by myself… i love cats!
i do like puppies, i think they are so cute! but i personly do not know how to take care of them…
Dog. I’d rather be a crazy dog person than crazy cat person.
Puppy all the way.
Puppy!!!!
A PUPPY for sure!!!!
puppy
mmmm … both?
I have 2 cats now, but I’ve always had dogs whilst I was growing up.
puppy. dogs are loyal. cats are like women and hold grudges. forever.
@Doubledb - The funny thing is that my cat is needy like a dog. He will sit at your feet (well, mine and my boyfriend’s – He doesn’t like strangers) and whine until you pet him. He’ll wait outside the bathroom when I go to shower and when I get out will immediately roll onto his back, his PET ME demand.
Puppy! Hands down!
We have cats. At the moment, I don’t want anything. I am so tired of dealing with them. Maybe later on when it is just me, I will get a puppy, but for now, NO.
puppy!
PUPPY!
Right now, I’d choose a kitten because I’m not around enough and don’t have enough room for a puppy. I would like a dog in addition to my cats someday, though.
In general, a kitty, although if we’re talking right now I might get a golden retriever puppy since I am partial to them and my household already has 4 cats… :p
Cats are easier to take care of. Don’t have to take them outside- just have to change the litter box occasionally, make sure there’s food in their bowl. Don’t even have to bathe them, since cats are self-cleaning. And they smell much better, too.
a kitten. i already have a really awesome dog, trouble child that she is.
I refuse to let my life be controlled by a dog’s bladder. I vote kitten all the way.
kippy
I already have two insane cats, I would have to get a puppy just to torment them.
Kitten. I love cats!
Kitten! x)))
I have one now and I love him to death~
Kitten! I love cats!
That seems like such a difficult choice, but if I’d have to choose, I would opt for the pup.
Neither, why do the ferrets get no love?
i would get a puppy! i think they are more fun than cats, for me anyway.
p.s. i think you should count up votes when you do this or that posts. : ) just a suggestion. it would be fun to see the results!
Oh, but it’s just not that simple! I already have two kitties, and two puppies, but one of them will be moving out to go live with her daddy, which makes me oh so sad, but I must admit I am such a lousy doggy mom, I wish he would take both of them because he walks them and I just can’t seem to get it together and feel so guilty, but since I will still have one doggy, and this doggy is very likely to be very sad and depressed when his companion moves, I am afraid I will have to get another doggy to keep him happy, and that scares me immensely, and I would much rather get him a kittie to play with, because I know how to raise kitties, but he might eat it, and the other kitties already want nothing to do with him. So I can’t even answer this question! It’s an impossible choice! Aaaah!
Kitten, though I would like a puppy too.
Definitely kitten. Dogs are too obedient.
Kitten
i have 3 dogs and 2 kitties, and the horses. love them all.
gee, that’s a tough one…
PUPPIES!<3 I find kittens, cats in general, too sensitive. =P
both of them are cute!!!
kitten! =D
kitten~ it so cute~
I would get a puppy hands down! I’m allergic to *most* cats, and I’ve always wanted a puppy! I will probably never get one though because I think it’s more important to adopt a dog from a shelter… adult dogs need homes too!
puppy, for sure. (:
both
A Puppy! I can’t stand Cats, even if they’re kittens. They grow up to be independant and all of a sudden they don’t need you anymore. Not too mention the cuteness runs out as they get bigger. Im a needy person needing a needy (something.) and puppies are needy. lol
I’d rather get a kitten, cause they’re not born with a belly full of worms.
Cats don’t need you, but they hang around if they like you.
KITTEN!!!
<3
And I’m so confused by the human limb in the picture of the puppy. I can’t figure out what’s going on there. Is it just me?
a trained puppy.
either, but I cant
my roomie dosent like kittens, and my dog hates all other dogs.
Puppy. The best in utility, aesthetic, and companionship.
A kitten.
not gonna lie, Dan, this is easily the hardest opinion post you’ve ever made.
*dies*
I would choose a kitten but would prefer a puppy. You have to potty train a puppy , its just like a baby alot of work.
I’m a puppy person ^^
Kitty
puppy!! kittens r sooooooo cute but i think that dogs are better pets because they have more energy
I’d rather get a squirrel, actually.
Or a goat. Much more useful.
Chinchilla
Puppy, puppy, puppy. So cute. ^_^
I have nothing against cats, I’m just not drawn to them.
puppy. i love them both though (but im semi-allergic to cats, which I have 2 of currently.)
Uh, no more pets for me, once my existing ones are gone.
Can I have both??
BOTH!!!!!!! hehe No PUPPY!!!
PUPPY!!!!! That is the cutest picture
KITTEN!!!!! EEK~~~~~ so CUTE!!!!
I have two already ^__^
Both, and they would grow to get along.
