I was just reading an article titled “Should Your Vote Still Count if You’re Dead?”
The article points out that more people are voting by sending their vote in via mail. Some states allow you to vote 60 days before an election. This gives time for the person voting to die. Here is the link: Link

A judge from New Zealand has stepped in and had a girl renamed.
The girl’s name was “Talula Does the Hula.” The judge made the girl a ward of the court so she could be renamed. Here is the link: Link

The tide has been turning against bottled water. I buy bottled water by the case. I was just reading an article that was mentioning that environmentalist want us to give up our bottled water because of the harm the bottles will do to the environment. Here is the link: Link

I was talking to a friend the other day and we were talking about high gas prices and the economy in general.
My friend made the statement, “The president doesn’t have much impact on the economy. He really can’t do anything about gas prices.” He went on to say, “These guys (McCain and Obama) will claim they can do something about the prices of gas but it is outside their control.”
Can the president do anything about the price of gas?
Have you ever noticed that the usernames are not capitalized? But the temptation is to capitalize a username because if looks like it should be used as a proper noun.

Here are the results of when I ran the “Who is hotter” contest the other day.

The second place was really a tie. I had five to six people count and the counts were so close:

I ran this contest with the top five people from a ms xangamerica contest. The five top candidates had people go vote for them for the contest. I based this totally on looks where that contest did it based partially on blogging.
I thought it was interesting that the results were almost reversed on my contest versus the other contest. ELBOWpasta won by a huge majority on my contest but she must have been in the bottom group over there. I think it is because she just didn’t campaign as hard over on that contest.
TheOriginalImperial didn’t even make it to the final five on the other contest and yet she was tied for second on my contest. I actually thought in advance she would win over here or be in the top group.
Antisoccermom actually did well in both contests. She placed well in both contests showing that she could do consistently well.
The odd thing is that the winner on the other site was actually the lowest vote person on this contest. I am not sure how to explain that.
I did a beauty contest on my site before. The top person was a “girl next door” type of woman. She was 23 years old. She kind of reminds me of ELBOWpasta in that people also described her as a “girl next door.” I think people tend to vote for the “girl next door” look.

I was just reading an article that indicated that almost as many women get tattoos as men.
The article suggested that more women get them removed because of social stigma issues related to tattoos. A study was done that showed women felt that it was impacting how they were perceived at work, school or in public. The study found “93% said having to hide the tattoos on occasion was a factor in theremoval compared with 20% of men. About 40% of women endured negativecomments at work, in public or in school compared with 5% of men.” Here is the link: Link
