Do you think using the word “a**” is a sin?

I was reading EilisAngelos’ site and she was talking about Christians she had met that were cursing and also getting drunk.  She felt that some of the Christians were taken advantage of God’s grace and were not living noticeably different lives.

Now I don’t want to turn this into a session of bagging on Christians but I am curious as to what you think.

Do you think Christians as a whole live a noticeable different life than people who are not Christians?

There has been so much talk about whether McCain picked a woman as his vice-president to attract women voters.  I hear some angry Democrats saying that they will not switch over to McCain just because he has a woman as a vice-president.

The funny thing is that I doubt McCain would have received most of those supporters of Hillary anyway.  I do wonder whether some of the women in the political middle will be attracted to a ticket that has a woman on it.

Do you think women are more likely to vote for McCain because he picked a woman as a vice-president?

Men have to shave their face every day or almost every day.  They also have to shave around a very sensitive part of their neck.  This post was inspired by RaVnR.

Some women don’t have to shave every day because they can just wear pants.  But when they shave, they have to cover more territory.

Who has it tougher as it relates to shaving, a man or a woman?

Is it ironic that those who are saying Sarah Palin is too inexperienced to be vice-president are Obama supporters?

Hurricane Gustav is heading toward land.

Here in Houston we have been praying that the hurricane hits New Orleans instead of Houston (We really don’t want any of the flooding).

It looks like the hurricane may be headed right toward New Orleans.  So government officials are preparing to order an evacuation. 

It is expected that 310,000 to 340,000 will ignore the order to evacuate.  The government is sending the message that they will not open the doors of the Superdome.  Three years ago the government was criticized when photos were released of people dying in the Superdome after the government set up the Superdome as a shelter when Hurricane Katrina hit but couldn’t get help there for days.

So this time, the government is locking up the Superdome and not setting up the huge shelter.  Here is the link:  Link

Is the government responsible for setting up shelter if people refuse to evacuate?

I was reading a post by Ktandie in which she mentioned teachers and students interacting on social network sites like Facebook and Myspace.

She wrote “There is no need for student-teacher interaction on social
networking sites. The student-teacher relationship is not social, it is
professional.”

Do you think it is inappropriate for teachers to interact with students on sites like Facebook or Myspace?

I personally find John McCain’s pick for vice-president hot.

Sarah Palin is an attractive woman.  Now some will say that is a sexist remark.  But it isn’t sexist.  It is a personal opinion. 

But here is my problem.  She is 44 years old.

It makes me realize how old I am getting.  I will be 37 in a few months.  I think this might be the first time I considered someone in their 40s to be hot.  It is making me feel old. 

What is the oldest age that you personally feel comfortable with calling a person hot?

John McCain has picked a woman to be his vice-presidential mate.

The thing that is cool about this is that no matter what, a black man will be president or an attractive woman will be vice-president.  It will be historic either way.
