Too Fat for Jail
A woman who weighs approximately 1000 pounds is accused of killing her two-year-old nephew.
The problem is that they can’t get her out of her front door and to court. The sheriff has said they can’t keep her in jail because of her extensive medical problems. So she is currently just staying at home. Here is the link: Link

They should at least place restrictions on who can see her and such. Maybe pay someone to be in her house and make sure she only eats so much or something. There has to be some form of punishment and if she ever lost enough weight, then she could stand trial…

I thought the comment at the end of the news article was funny (that she “currently remains at large”), but think that a person that would kill a child is less than human and should be exterminated. If it is proven in court then I believe she has forfeited her humanity.
Well, I’m one of those people who think that jail should not be for punishment, but to prevent people from harming others or themselves, so if she can’t leave the house anyways, I don’t really see what’s wrong with it.
Except that I foresee a few people trying to use this situation as an inspiration to get out of trouble…

Yes. In jail they could do portion control and maybe get the woman some help. If I were a judge, I’d be all for get’n out the crane. If the woman loses weight in jail, maybe it’d help rid her of some of her anger so she’s not such a violent person.

How the hell did she kill the kid if she cant move? If she moved enough to kill a kid, and was healthy enough to commit the act, then she can get her ass up and go to court and if needed jail too.
Maybe it really was an accident. Maybe the kid really did fall of a chair. Maybe he hit his head on the way down, and as she was leaning to pick him up, she ended up falling and pulling the chair down on top of his head on accident.
But then again, I’d have a lot of emotional and mental problems to go along with my physical problems if I was that obese–she might have really murdered him.

She should be forced to go through rehabilitation; obviously she doesn’t enjoy being worked physically. I don’t know ho exactly you would execute that, but make her take responsibilities, such as getting off her but and doing someone work.

We’re all about equality in this country, right?! She should be treated the same as any other person that did the crime. Make her do the time, in the same size cell, with the same diet, the same conditions as any other inmate. She has to have medicine while she’s there, fine, but keep her on the same restrictions as any other inmate. It’s not a country club, it’s prison, it’s punishment. It’s not supposed to be nice and easy. So, it’s a little harder on her than others, big whoop, she should not have killed a defenseless kid!

However, if this woman actually murdered a two year old child, that’s what should happen on that basis alone.The logical procedure, as I see it, would be to give her the Big Needle right there in her bed… then burn down the house to dispose of the body. The property could then be levelled off and turned into a children’s park in the little boy’s memory. Simple, efficient… and just.

If you sat on someone they would smother because they couldn’t breath. She died of hard sharp blows, like a hammer or book in your hand.

Certainly, we are naturally “programmed” in this manner. All life on Earth that gives live birth to its young and forms family units tend to be protective in this manner. It’s a survival trait… and humans are the supreme example. It’s likewise the basis of our highest moral imperative. Like I’ve constantly said, the purpose of adults is the protection, nurturement and moral guidance of children. When we fail in this, we fail in all.
Children are all-important, as they are the future and are born utterly helpless. Young women are important because they bear children and need support in the process. Old people are important because they provide domestic help and life experience. Able bodied men, however, are expendable in their behalf. It’s our lot in life. Civilized values tend to reflect this, as it is our natural state.
If a woman kills a man, it is still, of course, murder. However, under such circumstances, a question of self-defense might well be raised. For a 2 year old child, there can be none such. It can only be a question of accident or willful infanticide. If the latter, it’s not only murder, but a crime against nature itself.
If the death penalty is ever morally applicable, it is so here.
