I am this year, but that’s because my family is driving me nuts.
I did.
typically yes I get bored by the end of summer
these days, yes. not so much when I was a kid
I’m looking forward to debate, but not Algebra 2 or anatomy.
Actually I’ve been waiting all summer for debate to start again! I love it.
Since I’m homeschooled, not as much as some.
I haz question: May I ask/beg you to glance at my post? Pwees?
Absoultely not! today’s move in day at my college & tomorrow’s the first day of classes & I’m dreading this so completely!
yes.
I look forward to when I’ll go back to school… if that counts. It might be a while.
senior year. ehhh, we’ll see.
I most definitely do now…
I think I was ready by the time it rolled around when I was younger…
i used to dread it
EFF NO. summer was too short. =/
yes and no.
I am happy the children are going back to school tomorrow.
But not looking forward to the candy sales and all the junk that comes with it
no.
not so much, it means work and more work
just my schedule and probably seeing my friends
but other than that no
No =[
I dislike school and become extremely depressed at the end of summer. I can feel it coming, but I’m trying to not succumb to it. I’ve never liked school. It’s corrupt, I don’t thrive there, and even in high-level classes I’m bored out of my skull. I can’t wait to be out of there. Nine more months…until I’m free forever.
loved it
I am almost unaware of the start of the school year.
Oh yes, I was a total geek and loved school. I loved the school supply and clothes shopping, too… Couldn’t wait for school to start. I still love it, as a mom and as a teacher.
I did…but now I want to stay away.
when i was in school, most definitely.
now, i’m pretty much ambivalent, but it is fun to laugh at all the people who have to go back.
hell no
Both: No because summer is fun just haning.. but yes because you get too see new people and exp3erience new things…
This year the start of school meant my daughter moved out for good, which makes me kind of sad. The biggest effect the start of school has on me is dealing with increased traffic around the schools and getting stuck behind school buses. All in all, I’d prefer it to stay summer.
depends on my situation/how the summer went.
No, but I look forward to the start of autumn. It’s my favorite season.
Nope, by the end of summer, i’ve got my staying up too late, sleeping all day, schedule perfected, then school just messes it all up.
yes. i start college on tuesday!!!
mhm. very much so
Yeah Usually by the end of summer I’m bored. I’m especially looking forward to it this year because if I get enough credits this year I can go to a university in another city (with the boyfriend perhaps? ) Also I’m taking a ton of classes I love so, yay. Plus I’ll have new laptop, double yay?… yay.
About as much as having blood drawn.
The thought of long, boring lectures makes me want to puke just a little bit.
No traffic increases around here when school goes back into session
Meh. I used to really like going back to school, but now it’s just another thing I have to do…
Yeah, it’s something to do. Though, now, I kind of would prefer to have some more time off. (With my George). <3
Oh hell yes!
No, but this year I am. Why? It’s the beginning of the end of high school *Happy Sigh*
@shyGirl926 - o/ Hooray high school! I kind of hated/loved freshman year, because it was great being in this completely new campus, and being around all these kids from different middle schools, and there were new freedoms!
But the classes were also harder, and there was more pressure than before like, “So, what is your major area of interest!?” :< IDK! MUSIC? o_ x It also sucked being @ the bottom of the totem pole.
I was really looking forward to the music classes I’m taking this year, but I wasn’t in any way looking forward to waking up early. I am the complete opposite of a morning person.
shit no.
college however… my class was canceled last week and i was kind of irritated about it.
In my younger years, yes. Now, it’s just anxiety….
Hell yes
Yes, and no … I enjoyed school; but the Fall is not a good season for me …. so that part I dreaded.
I always enjoyed getting new clothes and school supplies, and I liked the idea of a “fresh” start. The first week or so of school was always 0 stress, but it wasn’t long before I was wishing summer back.
Yes, but with a little trepidation. I have plant design this year for chemical engineering. -Guru on the Hill
My younger kids can’t wait to go back…The older ones…well
After so many years of school…I dont care anymore. But this year, I am looking forward to it because I feel like it will be a new beginning for me.
never.
I was always more than ready to go back. Now I am looking forward to graduate school in a year or two.
Yes, but I didn’t this year. Best summer of my life.
kind of no but kind of yes but a little bit more no and some yes and WHAT THE HECK WHO AM I KIDDING, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In high school, I always had a strange longing to have my locker back. o.O And I had amazing teachers in high school.
Looking forward to my amazing music classes this year! But other than that…not so much.
not typically….
I don’t like school . and I don’t like getting up early. But I’d rather be there then at home.
Yes.
The anticipation really hypes me up. I purchase all my textbooks early. I start my studying two or three weeks before the start of the quarter.
Yeah… I’m nerdy.
yeah, i guess. You get to see more people. But this year I’m starting a new school, so it’s kind of stressful not knowing anyone.
fuck no.
Yup..b/c I just wanted to get it over with..lol
yeap
nope. never. hate school.
Nope. I’m so busy during the summers that I feel like I need more vacation time.
just the first day, when everything is fresh and new. after that, i wish i had never bothered to walk through the doors. school wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for the homework and pressure and such. learning is good, it’s just the annoying parts.
Yes. College.
My friends. They are crucial for me to have a successful year.
yes no shame in that hun.
In college, yes.
i used to love the first day of school. but now i will be starting my senior year, and i am incredibly dreading it.
By the end of summer, it always seems too long, so yes. I always look forward to the start of school.
Definitely looking forward to it.. then again, I’m a college freshman, so that may or may not affect the way I see it.
not since elementary school.
when i was in college i did. not back when i was in high school though.
not in elementary, middle, and high school but now in college…yes
Sure, but I’m not going to school this year so….
Normally, yes. If anything, I’m not opposed to it. I have never understood when people talk about hating school.
yeah, but I always wish summer would never end.
yup! a place to go to get out of the house, lol.
@captain_jaq - TOTALLY agree with you. glancing at the comments before you i was amazed to see the number of people who actually say they look forward to school! that’s just something i can’t comprehend.i become so depressed knowing that school is looming, and it doesn’t help that school AND winter come arond the same time. lucky you, i have 10 months until graduation!
Nope.
No
no i don’t
Definitely not.
I love school. Hate when it’s over.
yes, i love fresh starts
only to move out of my house again… :]
no no no
Ugh, no. I don’t handle change well.
no.
I did. However, the honeymoon was soon over. I, to this day, get anxiety when I hear school buses roaring up the road.
still do
Yes, but only so I can get my days back to normal and get ready to go back to work while the kidlet is at school.
I am this year, because I’ll be a freshmen in college. My classes start tomorrow. =]
typically. yup.
Funny that you ask this. I start school tomorrow. I’m actually looking forward to it. This year I know things are going to be different. I’m living on campus, taking fun classes, making new friends, coming out of my shell, learning to be responsible, learning more about who I am. I’m loving it
Absolutely not.
yeah, because i got to see my friends and my fav class (orchestra) started back up.
SHOOT ME.
Not in 3rd or 4th grade cause my teacher was a bitch. Or 7th and 8th grade cause 7th was when I moved so I was the ‘new’ kid and 8th grade I only had 2 real friends…I was really depressed and I hated that damn school…still do. But before and after those years I was always excited to go. Summer’s fun, but sometimes it feels like it lasts too long and starts to get boring.
no way
Yeah, I was always nervous but I kind of enjoyed that rush you feel the first day This year I’m starting a new school so I’m a little extra nervous all over again
Yes, a bit.
Dear GOD no. Never.
Yes it means I can go shopping in peace.
No i hated school…not the learning but the people and environment
As a kid, I was always ready for school because it got me away from my mother. Now as a parent, I look forward to the start of the school year even more. I cry tears of joy and pop the cork
Yep! Everyone else’s obnoxious kids go back to school so I can take mine to fun places without a bunch of annoying kids around. We are looking forward to going to the zoo on a “school day”.
No. That means no more summer – No more boating. No more hot sunny days. Chopping season on the farm, so my boyfriend practically disappears for a few months.
I am desperate to NOT go back right now, but I know that once I start and get into the new routine, it will be fine.
when I got to high school, yes.
I never did. Not when I was in school, not when my kids were in school, and not even now when my grandkids and great grandkids are in school. It signals the end of summer…sob.
Yes I did even though im only in school for one hour I still wanted to go back, ( theres a reason im only in school for that long)
Only for my social contacts…
Yes. It means that cooler weather is on its way.
I absolutely never did and never understood why people would get so excited. I looked forward to winter break, spring break, summer break…. but not to going to class. Who likes going to class?!
This is the first semester I’m not in school anymore. YES!!!!
Sometimes, yes. Sometimes, no. It all depends (1) on how much I accomplished during the summer, (2) what hurdles I face in the fall semester, and (3) what my experience was during the previous school year. . . .
When I was a kid, I didn’t want to return to school because ˆ was having too much fun during the summer, and I was a highly motivated indiviodual learner who was often bored by the busywork of the classroom. But my seven-year-old nephew so much loves the school experience that his Mom had to take him every week or so to visit his old teacher at the school–and to meet his new teacher. He’s exactly the kind of student every teacher would love to work with. . . .
kinda umm sortaaa umm maybee
NO
This year I’m starting at 6th form college which is gonna be such a change from my stuck-up private school, so yeah, I’m looking forward to a fresh start =]
Nooo, I dread it, but then it always ends up being okay. I just wish summer were longer. I miss my hometown friends.
I never have before. I’ve always hated school because it’s so stressful. However this time, I’m looking forward to going back for once.
Typically yes, but for some reason this year no.
yes and no.
on one hand, it means seeing my friends more often, football games, the coming of my birthday [4 days from now!], and my favorite: school supply shopping. i’m such a sucker for new pencils and notebooks.
on the other hand, it’s the “end” of my favorite season, summer. its symbolic of responsibility, colder weather, and much more monotony.
Sometimes.
No. And a little bit of yes, but only because I’m excited for the fall play.
yes
I do. I like new beginnings.
Yeah, I loved the feeling of the new year, and starting anew again, straight A’s so far for this new grade, and getting to see my old classmates and my friends again.
It’s another new adventure, until I transferred. xD After that, the only emotions I could feel was anxiety and fear, I was so scared. xD
yes ! im SO excited. i’m starting a new school and this year, i’ll actually be with my friends not looking forward to failing math though :S lol
yes. except for the “going to class” part.
NO!
I look forward to it now, since I’m done with school.
I’ve always liked the fall, just the stress of starting school always freaked me out, but once school started, I was just fine. So, no I did not look forward to it as a kid.
Hell no.I’m going back to a school filled with bullies who…..well,do what they do to me.Maybe it”s my fault for not trying to be less withdrawn or defending myself.2 eprops for you.
i used to before i started my 2nd year in college. college is… deadly.
i do! i love the first day of school. this will be my 13th first day of school. i feel some sadness :[
but i am looking foeward to what comes next!
No, not for pharmacy school!
I am impartial.
Never.
Always; I’m still in school (college) and I look forward to it now, too.
