  • I Want to Be Tasered

    I want to be tasered.

I only want to be tasered if I can make some cash from it.

Police stormed a house and tasered an innocent man.  He sued and the insurance company settled out of court for $100,000.  He was sleeping on the couch and he was awaken by the taser gun.  He was then tasered two more times by police.

So he was tasered 3 times and he received $100,000.  Here is the link:  Link

Would you allow yourself to be tasered 3 times if you would receive $100,000 for the experience?

  • Abandonment

A new Nebraska law will allow parents to drop their children off at the hospital with no questions asked.

This law is different than most laws in that it will allow a parent to drop a child off all the way up to anyone under 19.  Some are concerned that this may lead frustrated parents to drop off misbehaving teens “or even severely disabled children” instead of just babies.

Others think it will extend protection to older kids that is given to newborn children.  Here is the link:  Link

Do you think a parent should be able to drop off their child with no questions asked all the way up to age 18?

  • Gay Children

I had over 800 people respond to the average age question and the average age of the people commenting on my site is 23.78.  (Special thanks to Saintvi for calculating the average).

    Here we go:

I posted the other day about a principal that told a lesbian girl’s parents that she was a lesbian.

Someone commented that if the parents didn’t know their child was lesbian, they were clueless.

Are parents clueless if they don’t realize their child is gay or lesbian?

  • Fat Child

I posted about how a man caught a 21 pound, 1 ounce catfish using his daughter’s Barbie fishing rod.

In the comment section, some of the conversation focused on how overweight the little girl is.  She is 3 years old.

Is the girl so fat that it is worth noting?

  • The Cult Status of Thetheologianscafe

I received a message yesterday and here is part of it:

“I am sure you would have made it either way, you don’t have
subscribers, you have followers…….your readers are like a Xanga Cult.”

I have received message describing my site like a cult before.

The thing is I don’t really understand how someone would see it that way.  If anything, I think my site is full of independent thinkers.  I think I am one of the few sites that has a ton of people that subscribe to me that would say they really don’t personally like me that much.  I am a conservative Christian yet if you ask the people who comment on my site what they are, they continually show themselves to be slanted to the left.

I sometimes feel like I am one of the few people on my site that actually believes that the Bible is the literal word of God.

If you go to a typical site, it is nothing more than a group of people that agree with each other on most issues.  If you look at my site, you will find homeschooling mothers who breastfeed their child until they are 3-4 all the way to those who worship satan.  You have Christians, Muslims, black, whites, Asians and one or two Jews.

The idea of a cult is that they would either gather around the same concept or person and I don’t think you could get the people on my site to agree to anything.  In fact, I think the people that comment on my site show an unusual diversity of thinking.  People openly disagree with me on my site and will even send me nice little messages telling me what an idiot I am.

As far as getting 1000 comments in one day, that comes with having 8000 subscribers and using that little tag feature.

Do we have a cult like status on thetheologianscafe?

  • Your Dog Has Morals

I was just reading an article about a study that suggested that dogs have morals.

    dog

The scientists involved in the study believe that dogs are learning morals from humans.

One example is that the “dogs’ play rarely escalates into a fight.”  The thinking is that it is a result of dogs adapting to social rules.  Here is the link:  Link

I looked up “morals” on dictionary.com and found this definition:  “of, pertaining to, or concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong; ethical”

Do you think dogs have morals?

  • Obama’s Running Mate

There has been a bunch of talk about who the presidential candidates will pick to be their vice-presidential running mates.

Do you think Obama should pick Hillary Clinton to be his vice-president?

  • Kicking Her Out of the Closet

Thanks to everyone who helped me reach the goal of 1065 comments in 24 hours.  I received 1154 comments in 24 hours and I appreciate all who helped.  I also appreciate that link at the end from the xanga team as I was cutting it close and for all those who recommended the post and linked it.

    Here we go:

A young girl who is a lesbian told her principal that she was lesbian.

    photo

The principal turned around and told her parents about her being lesbian.  She sued the school for a bunch of reasons and won the suit.  Here is the link:  Link

I just wanted to focus on one of the issues.

Do you think it was inappropriate for the principal to tell her parents that she was a lesbian?

  • Comment Record

A site attempted to hit the most comments ever on his site.  Xanga even featured him on their front page and he ended up with 265 comments which is very impressive.  His goal was 10,000 comments.

I thought it might be fun to try something less ambitious.

I would like to try to break my own comment record which is 1085 comments on a single post.  I would like to try to do it in only 24 hours time.

So help me out and comment and recommend if you can.  (No comment spamming).

Do you think we can hit 1085 comments in a 24 hour period?

Edit:  We only have about 3 and a half hours left.  It is 3:06 pm. central time here and 6:37 p.m central time will be the 24 hour mark.

We need to get about 200 more comments.

  • $200 Shoes

Comment on the post below this in order to help me break my comment record.

    Here we go:

I was reading the site of lotta_valdez and she mentioned her brother wanted to buy a pair of the new Jordan shoes that cost $200.

She asked, “Is $200 a reasonable amount to spend on shoes?”

Is $200 too much for a pair of shoes?
